National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. NABI aims at catalyzing the transformation of the Agri-food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security.
Since its inception in 2010, NABI is involved in research activities for Biofortification, development of designer crops for improved nutrition, providing sustainable and novel solutions towards quality food and nutrition, and development of evidence-based functional foods to counter malnutrition. The food and Nutritional Biotechnology division at NABI require the following research personnel purely on a temporary basis for Government NABI Recruitment 2021.

Investigator: Dr. Humira Sonah, Ramalingaswami Fellow
Research Positions (Temporary): Research Associate-I
Duration: Till 26th June 2022
Essential qualification: Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree in Life Sciences or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/ M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal. (Eligibility criteria as DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019.
Desired Experience: Experience in plant or agricultural biotechnology, plant tissue culture, rice or any other crop plant transformation, genome editing, genomics/bioinformatics.
Emoluments:– Rs. 47000/- per month plus 8% HRA. (As per DST OM No. SR/s9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019)
Responsibilities:– Maintaining fungal cultures, Genome editing, tissue culture, transformation, molecular biology

Scholars are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

Application and Selection Process:
1. All interested candidates may appear for Walk-In-Interview at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute located at Knowledge city, Sector-81, Mohali- 140306, Punjab on 08th January 2021 (Friday) at 09:00 AM along-with the duly filled application form available on the website www.nabi.res.in.
2. Incomplete application forms and applications that are not in proper format may be summarily rejected.
3. The applications should be submitted strictly as per the prescribed format that can be downloaded from the NABI website.
4. Candidates applying for more than one position can give their preference in the same application by ticking multiple positions. No need to submit a separate application form for each position.
5. Candidates should ensure that information mentioned in the application form is accurate. Once the application form is submitted no further request regarding any changes/ information in the application form will be considered.
6. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NABI from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM on 08th January 2021 (Friday).
7. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.
8. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with full CV, thesis/project report, experience certificates, publications and original degree certificates and transcripts.
9. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
10. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).

NEW DELHI: National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday extended the last date to apply online for UGC- National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2020, Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-2020, Joint CSIR -National Eligibility Tesr (CSIR-NET) June 2020 up to May 31, 2020.
Ealier, the last date to submit online applications for ICAR 2020, JNUEE 2020, and CSIR NET June 2020 May 15 and the last date to apply for UGC NET was May 16, which have now been extended till May 31, 2020.
An official notice released by NTA in this regard reads that “In view of the hardships faced by the parents and the students due to COVID-19 epidemic and requests recieved from many students in this regard, the National Testing Agency has further extended/ revised the dates of submission of Online Application Forms for various Examinations conducted by the Agency.”
Candidates should note that the submission of online application forms will be accepted up to 5.00 pm and fee up to 11.50 pm on May 31, 2020.
Applicants can pay the requisite fee through credit/debit card/net banking/ UPI and Paytm.

Selection procedure:
Candidates are shortlisted for an interview based on their performance in the National Entrance Test and/or academic performance. The selection is based on the performance in the interview (in some of the departments, an aptitude test/preliminary interview will precede the interview/final interview).
Note:
Candidates called for the interview held in June 2020 in any one of the departments mentioned above are also eligible to apply again. And the cut-off remains the same as fixed for August 2020 admissions.
Reservation/concession/relaxations for EWS/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ Persons with disability (PwD) and Kashmiri-Migrants (KM), including Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families: As per the Government of India rules.
The minimum class prescribed in the qualifying examination is relaxed to a “Pass Class” for SC/ST candidates.
Note: Candidates who had applied for August 2020 admissions and later exercised an option (on the admission portal in June 2020 ) for the deferred interview in the next admission cycle need not apply again. These candidates can access their filled application form by logging onto https://admissions.iisc.ac.in/ using existing credentials.

The candidates who want to submit fresh applications or to complete the online application form can do the same from the official website of CSIR NET — csirnet.nta.nic.in. The last date to submit online applications for CSIR UGC NET 2020 is September 10. Issuing a notice on Saturday senior director, Dr Sadhana Parashar said “In view of the representations received from many students who have not filled application form due to the changed circumstances arising out of COVID -19 and request received from the Council of Scientific Industrial Research(CSIR), National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to re-open the portal again for few weeks. This is also applicable to other students who have not been able to complete the application process or submit an online Application Form for CSIR- UGC NET June 2020 due to one reason or another.” Candidates should note that the submission/ completion of the online application form will be accepted up to 05.00 pm on September 10 and submission of fee up to 11.50 pm on the same day. Applicants can pay the requisite fee through Credit/Debit Card/ Net Banking/UPI and PAYTM. Candidates can make the corrections in the particulars and centre cities in online application forms from September 11 to 17, 2020 (correction up to 5.00 pm and payment of fees, if any, up to 11.50 pm).
