Prompt idea!

After they start dating, Lily wears James jersey for the first time to one of his games. At the victory party, he whispers to her that when they leave, he wants her to keep the jersey on while they fuck.

I would write a little scene fic of this anon, but something VERY similar will occur in CTW2.0....

Chapter 7: Stupid Games, Stupid Prizes

“You miss him?” 

It’s a stupid question but it’s as effective as a fist to the stomach. She looks at the ground, experiencing in real time the gentle haze of alcohol and adrenaline leaking out of her body. Of course she misses him. But she isn’t about to admit that—and certainly not to the likes of Sirius Black.

“You aren’t seriously trying to talk to me about Snape right now are you?”

Sirius remains unflappable. “Would you like me to change the subject?” 

“Yes—”

“Alright, what’s going on between you and James?”

Chapter 5: Making Good

“You know what they say about love? It’s nauseating.”

“Oh, shut it,” Lily huffs, crossing her arms. “He’s just—”

“Out faffing off with his mates?”

It has its intended effect—shooting right into her stomach and hooking deep.

“...late,” Lily finishes, not even convincing herself. Peeves gives a soft tsk and shakes his head.

“Oooh yes . Late—we can call it that. If by late you mean not coming.”

“He’ll come,” Lily shoots back, her cheeks going ruddy. “ He asked me. He- he fancies me. ”

Chapter 4: A Lesson in Honesty

It’s only two measly syllables, but it grinds his world to nothing. 

“O-ok.”

Ok.

He fancies her. He fancies her something despicable —and all she’s able to say in return is “ok.”

It’s all a blur after that: the quiet walk back, the narrowing glare of the Fat Lady, the fire dying in the grate, the retreating image of her back going up the steps to her dorm. 

He doesn’t remember saying a single word to her, but what does someone even say to an “ok?” 

Nothing, he guesses. Nothing at all.

It still needs a few more edits but hoping to have Ch.2 of CTW2.0 up tomorrow. It's been ages since I’ve written James POV!!! Anyway, here's a snippet because I have no self control:

“Right, so if a boy–hypothetically of course—fancied a girl for ages…made a complete fool of himself around her…dreamed about her sweet embrace…” “Pads.” “—how would he go about gaining her friendship in a way that says he isn’t trying to shag her guts out right now, but would very gladly and enthusiastically do so in the future if she became amenable to the idea.” Bertha blinks, flushing a deeper red. “I-I’m sorry. What was the question?”  Sirius sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Oh for fucks—James wants to be Evans’ friend. Please educate him.”

Chapter 2: Welcome to Reality, Baby!

“What’s the big deal?” Sirius says, snapping James’ attention back to the matter at hand. “You wank off to Evans. This is hardly groundbreaking information.”

“What? No!” James protests, voice going thin. “I mean, at least not this time—swear it. It was—”

But what was it exactly? In all honesty, it probably would be easier if it had been some kind of wet dream. At least that’s simple enough for James to get his head around. The image of Lily’s terrified face flashes past his vision, his own baby blanket swaddling a child in her arms.

Chapter Three: Ulterior Motives

Worst of all, he’d drawn her. 

It’s her profile, drawn in the exact angle she sits from him in class. Her eyes are cast down and her hair twists behind her ear as it always does when she lets it hang naturally. Her lips are pursed in thought and from the faint lines of erased attempts, he must have tried more than once to get the exact likeness correct. 

Had she felt him staring at her when he drew it? Or has she been blind to his attention all this time? It gives a confusing rattle in her stomach and a hoard of snitches start batting against her ribs.

 She shuts the book before a blush can appear.

Aw! Thank you! I've LITERALLY been doing the final touches on it for the past hour or so. Should be up by the end of the day! Also, I just realized I shared a different snippet on Twitter than I did here. So, here's that one (for anyone else reading this):

Chapter snippet? To get us through I’m obsessed with the remake

I MIGHT (emphasis) still get it published in a couple of hours if I realllly push myself and maybe drink a cheeky 9pm coffee... But at any rate, here is a snippet:

“It’s tomorrow, Evans.” James whispers, leaning close. “You owe me a conversation. You promised.” Her eyes flash from his chest to his lips back to him. A challenge sprouting. “Oh? And what if I said I wanted to have it right now? Would you miss the match?” He doesn’t hesitate. “Yes.” “Liar.”

CTW2.0 and Formidable update: These past two weeks have been really difficult with(quite frankly) a real shit time at work so I haven't had much time or inspiration to open my documents this week. With that being said I hope to get Ch.2 of Formidable up either tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest, then get CTW2.0 up this weekend.

Was it a bad idea to start publishing two multi-chapter fics at the same time all while coming to the end of the quarter for my job? Yes definitely, but I promise in about two weeks I will have all the time in the world to keep a stable and consistent schedule for both works (and hopefully finally get to some of the oneshots I've been drafting!)

Sadly, I don’t think I’ll get the next chapter of CTW2.0 up until this weekend. But you should know that the reason is because I’m ar France’s version of Azkaban for the week. (which for a high security prison has very good sunsets…)

ps. I will say, the next ch. will be the end of the slow burn (but in what capacity…who could say)

Ctw new chapter snippet? 😍

Hello anon! I’m sorry the new chapter isn’t out yet…I got back from my trip exhausted then got a bout of vertigo so it’s been a bit hard to edit ;(

So, with that being said, here’s an extra juicy snippet to tide you over until (hopefully) Sunday when I can get the chapter up!

Her name slips out and immediately it’s addicting. He says it again, then again, kissing her between each time as to punctuate its importance. He tips backwards, pressing himself into the back of the chair and cups her jaw to pull her with him. Seemingly just as unwilling to break the kiss as he is, she staggers forward and rests her knee on his thigh, practically crawling onto him to press deeper. He nips at her bottom lip and she sighs, the sound almost drowned out by the fervent shriek of more more more hurdling him forward.

Could I please request a scene in your rewriting of ctw? So basically it’s either a flashback, memory or James is explaining to Lily how in 5th year, the day he managed to transform in his animagus was one of the happiest of his life. But then the same day, he found out Lily had agreed to go on a date with someone else or he overhears that she was seen kissing someone and his good mood just disappears. I’m a sucker for arrogant toerag James showing moments of vulnerability and yearning in 5th year so James seeing Lily kissing another boy of hearing about it is like crack to me.

Hi! This is a cute idea! But unfortunately, my multi chapter fics are one of the only things I don't take suggestions for. But, you will definitely see more flashbacks and definitely see more animagi content in future chapters!

Really sad I probably wont get the newest ch. of CtW2.0 up this week like I hoped, but every bit of downtime im getting it cleaned up in the hopes to be able to get it posted asap!!!

I promise it will be worth the wait! I’ll at least answer the infuriating question about why Lily is acting so weird.
