Do you think Lily stopped smoking when she knew she was pregnant? Do you think she stopped after Harry was born ?

What James thought about Lily smoking?

While it was still common to smoke during pregnancy during the 70s ( the push to stop it started in that era) I think James would have advocated for her to stop because he (and she agreed) thought it would create complications. After Harry was born, she'd smoke on occasion especially whenever Sirius was around to bum her one, but I don't imagine she became a regular smoker again due to the difficulty in obtaining cigarettes in hiding.

Generally, I don't think Lily was every a heavy HEAVY smoker like I like to think Snape was. It was just something she did when she could get her hands on a pack and often tried to make it last. I'd say the worst of her habit happened between 5th and 6th year, then cropped up again due to the stress of the order.

James was fine with her smoking and often associated the smell with her. He personally never liked or wanted to smoke (he knew it was bad for his quidditch ability...) but he never looked down on her for it. The only time he actively urged her to cut back was during pregnancy and even then it was very "do what you want but here's my two cents" sort of way. I think having Sirius, Remus, and Lily as smokers made the scent a very comforting one to him--it smelled like family.

When do you think Lily start smoking ?

Probably pretty young. 14-15 honestly, maybe even younger. Severus was the one to introduce her to it but being lower class as they were, her parents were both heavy smokers and Petunia also socially smoked (though would have a rather 'holier than thou' stance about it around the house).

“But it’s not just Paris,” James pleads, pulse wild.

“I was in love with you way before we got here, Evans.”

Hahaha I definitely do—though I think they were VERY partial to eye contact during intimacy.

Generally, if it’s anything that can wind the other up and tease them a bit, they were into it.

“Satisfied?” 

“With the amount of food she’s provided.” He motioned to the sandwiches, stacked five high. “She gave me an extra, said she didn’t remember me being taller than her.” 

Lily’s eyes flashed in a way she knew read as angry, not anxious, but James seemed unperturbed, leaning back into the cushions and stretching an arm over the back of the couch.

Strange, this was. Was it a date? Could anything where your mam made tea be a date?

Lily sipped her tea. It was flagrant, floral, with a touch of sweetness, as Lily liked. She took another sip, leaning back into the couch, expertly just-almost-but-not-quite touching James’ arm.
