So continuing my new Rome theme. I give you the Imperial Standard (company Standard bearer)

He is responsible for carrying the Imperial Aquila into battle and inspiring the troops of his Legion to fight for the Emperor!

I'm quite happy with the way these troops are going.

Just need to think of a design for their faction.

This is my third Guardsmen I attempted this weekend. Fourth, actually.

While not perfect, I applaud myself because I painted this guy fully assembled. No sub assembly here. Also, I did it with a brush that's been wearing out, but I keep finding myself doing decent work with. The face highlights were done with that one brush. And it's a fairly large one. Number five.

However, looking at this guy, I can see how important it is to get the hang of painting eyes. Surely even just the white would really make the face pop even more.

And I realized I don't have many standard Guardsmen heads. So I had to place an order for some.

Steel Legion style guardsmen from the new cadia stands complete. I’d source a new head, and maybe new legs, and remove the backpack if I were to do a whole squad. Some custom decals would also be good. I’m quite happy with it. It's currently extremely hot here with upwards to 36°C, so painting is tough, but I've been working a lil bit in between on my next Heavy Weapons Team!

It's been quite a while since the missile launcher team and this time around it's finally the mortar team's turn

The leaf canopy is already done and everyone's got a lil bit of a base color coat for the most, still plenty things to do though

Eck is one of my oldest 40k OCs, and I realized I haven't talked about him here at all. That's a crime if you ask me.

He was a Cadian guardsman inducted into the ranks of the Kasrkin, and after a brush with daemonic possession he was taken in by a radical Ordo Malleus Inquisitor. His master, Artorias Fenring, would eventually elevate him to the rank of Interrogator due to his sharp mind, combat prowess, and firsthand understanding of the daemonic. As of 975.M41 (the current date of my rp server) he's been an Inquisitor for about a century. In a way he never stopped being a Kasrkin and is intensely proud of his Cadian heritage. He's also just as radical as his mentor, his personal hatred of Chaos leading him to adopt an 'any means necessary' strategy, which includes the recruitment of sanctioned xenos into his retinue.

He's an absolute goon and I love him, thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Does anyone actually like/tolerate Finch? I mean Firch?

Like? No, I don't think so. I mean, Nada seems to like everyone but Firch is terrified of her so I'm not sure that counts. He's not actually evil evil though. He's still a Cadian and though self important is legitimately good at his job so he can generally be found mingling with other Cadians or the easier going folks. Heck, if it post mission, he may even make horrible jokes about our actual enemies instead of us. Only until next tim, though.
