This makes me uncomfortable
And I can't quiet explain why exactly this makes me uncomfortable wenn I am fine with smutty/sexy fanart/fics ...
But ...
Just imagine there was an actress who embodied a very popular character ... and the entety who holds the rights to her likeness creates a massively sexualized product ...
That would be kind a fucked up wouldn't it?
Wait ...
We don't have to imagine ...
Though of course all of Fisher’s anecdotes here are keyed-up and exaggerated to entertain, she also calls the idea of a Princess Leia sex doll “humiliating.”
According to the upcoming Fisher documentary, Bright Lights, the doll—which got a huge laugh as a stage prop—still lives in Fisher’s attic. Sure, she’s made it a punch line, but isn’t that what sharp people do to the things that wound them?
Wenn 18 or 19 year old Carry Fisher signed with George Lucas, she was propably not aware that she wasn't just signing away her rights to the character but was effectively consenting to George Lucas having a WHAT EVER made in her likeness, since ... he held the rights to the likeness ... he could do with it, what ever he pleased ...
And apparently one of the things that pleased him was the production of a princess Leia sex doll ...
And while Tom HIddleston was 30 wenn he signed with Marvel I still doupt that he was aware he was signing for something like this ... and 3 exchangable pubic parts ...
No seriously ... that is a feature of the figure ...
What ever that means ...
And I mean ... hey, ... maybe he is 100% O.K. with this ... he seems to be an insanely good sport in regards to what every Disney and Marvel throw his way ... but I would feel better if I KNEW that he was O.K. with it ...
And please don't ask me, why I am O.K. with fans/fanart sexualizing characters, smuti fics and smuti fanart ...
I DON'T KNOW
I just am ...
As I said ... I can't really articulate it ... all I can say, is that it feels wrong to me ... and that I am sure, if they made an action figure
-> although the only action you can perform with THIS figure seems to be the optional swaping of his junk ...
If someone made an action figure like that of Natasha ... or Wanda ... or Shuri ... people would agree that, that is kind a not O.K.* ...
So, then ... why is it O.K. with Loki/Tom Hiddleston?
*And sure, their action figure collectable little plastic selfes are sexualized too ... but at least they get to keep their clothe on ... and exchangable parts are usualyl hands and not their pubic area ...
(THOSE dolls are usually costum made ... )
