The stretchyness of wool never ceases to amaze me.

It started like this (in February):

Eventually became this blobby thing:

And then i added water + tension.... And voilà!

Next goal is to embroider the traces between the constellations. Pattern is "Celestarium" by Audrey Nicklin on Ravelry.

As part of my contemplation of mortality, I think I am going to knit celestarium to be buried in. Because being buried in the stars sounds pretty poetic and I always wanted to knit that one. Now I have a reason to. The yarn I dyed for it I’ll probably use for something else because I want a green burial and they recommend naturally dyed burial materials for that. So I gotta find 1200 yds of indigo or woad dyed yarn. Etsy, annoyingly, doesn’t know the difference between “hand dyed” and “naturally dyed.” Anyone have a good source for naturally dyed yarns? I need it to be blue, fingering, all natural materials (no nylon, not superwash). Animal fibers or cotton are both fine but I prefer wool. I found a couple things on etsy but I could use some help.

Though he doesn't take the chance at first, eventually the Dreaming manifests his own resentment for his function as a fog that blankets his kingdom, until Death seems like the only way out. Thankfully, Death of the Endless has another solution to offer her brother.

@xymothan this is how the shawl turned out that I was working on at your house! I didn't finish it in time to show off to the fiber fair attendees, sadly.

Pattern is celestarium on ravelry with the stellar wave edging. Yarn is by Robin's promise from their songbird line, color night flight.

The Celestarium is done!!!!!!!! I'm so happy with how it turned out.

Yarn was a 75/25 superwash/nylon fingering weight yarn from Dragon Hoard Yarn. Color is Night Triumphant.

Needles were 3.5mm

Pre blocking: 46 inches

I started knitting Celestarium (such a tedious cast on, my gosh) and I got all the way to chart C before I realized that I forgot how chart reading works when you're knitting in the round.

You don't go back and forth, you just follow the chart from right to left, because you're knitting in rounds, not rows. So RIP my stars, only Polaris (the bead in the center) is correct :p

So yeah. That's enough knitting for one night, and I get to do that cast on all over again tomorrow. 😐

I am nearly finished my first sweater now and already looking at what pattern I want to make next. The three I am really looking at are a Cardigan, Sweater, and Shawl.

First is to make this lovely Greek Amphora Cardigan pattern which will have me steeking for the first time.

There is also this interesting Zebra Sweater that would have me seeming the sweater together instead of working it in the round.

I also feel much more familiar now with double point needles to start the Celestarium Shawl. Which I had tried to start early in the year but was not experienced enough to get it to work for me.
