Support the museum if you can! I love the museum and it would be wonderful to secure these artefact's future.

If you live in Aber, maybe mark this down on your calendar. Organised by the university's punk society and yours truly.

So uh, to my own surprise, I won't even be taking part in my own creation this year, Seven Days of Lokabrenna.
Here's a blog post as to why that's happened.
(Spoiler alert: You don't have to do anything you don't want or need to do... 😉 )

“The Welsh legend of Cantre'r Gwaelod, a lost land sunken below Cardigan Bay, has persisted for almost a millennium…..Yet there has never been any definitive geographical evidence for the mythical land… until now, perhaps.”

Royal Pier, Aberystwyth. Zorki 4. Expired Perutz Primera 100.
Opened on Good Friday in 1865 the Royal Pier in Aberystwyth was the first of it's kind to open in Wales. Sadly due to repeated storm damage it now stands at less than half of it's original length of 242 meters.
Today it consists of a pub, restaurant, amusement arcade and a snooker hall..

Pictures from my first visit to Ceredigion Museum (back in 2022). I realised I never uploaded these here so I decoded to make a post about it.
For those of you who don't know, aside from writing Llyfr Enfys, I'm a Celtic student in the Welsh and Celtic department at Aberystwyth University. As such, I love all things Late Bronze/Early Iron Age!
The first picture is of a mannequin dressed in Iron Age clothes. When I last went to the museum this year they'd taken her down though.
The next few pictures are of Mesolithic-Chalcolithic finds in the Ceredigion area. My favourite thing is the reproduction pot underneath the woodpigeon taxidermy (the museum is full of random taxidermy animals, I like to see how many I can spot each visit!). The original pot is there too and contained remains of a meal of porridge and crab apple. Delicious!
The next four images are of Bronze Age artifacts. Various urns, sherds and bronze axes.
After that is an image I took of two very special spoons from Castell Nadolig. Nobody knows the exact function, but they're often referred to as Iron Age divination spoons. These ones weren't out last time I visited either, they may be on loan or elsewhere for preservation.
And the final image is of some Roman rooftiles. These are the oldest examples of roofing anywhere in the region!
