Mrs. Petrovic: Madam Speaker, Trudeau and his continued mission to further encroach into the lives of Albertans is ignoring the voices of us in this matter. That is why Bill 204 is a necessary piece of legislation to make sure Albertans will be heard loud and clear. This is not just a hypothetical concern, either. Last August the city of Edmonton council voted 10 to 3 in favour of moving forward with a plan to potentially establish a national urban park in Edmonton’s river valley. This is not what Albertans want. From my experience leading a municipality as a former mayor, I can attest that this is not the approach Albertans want.

A United Conservative Party candidate is suggesting heart attack victims should take more personal accountability.
Chelsae Petrovic, the UCP candidate for Livingstone-Macleod, who is also the current mayor of Claresholm and a nurse, said she sees people suffer from heart attacks and not take responsibility for the own health.
“This might be political suicide here, what I’m about to say,” she prefaced her comments during an interview in February with a podcast called The Canadian Story, hosted by David Parker and Zach Gerbe.
“We can look at this and I see it in health care, I’m going to say it: maybe the reason you had a heart attack was because you haven’t taken care of yourself; You’re extremely overweight, you haven’t managed your congestive heart failure, you haven’t managed your diabetes, and there’s no personal accountability,” Petrovic said. Mrs. Petrovic: It is disappointing to see that the Alberta NDP is so open to forming an unholy alliance with the Trudeau Liberals, spreading misinformation and using their influence to do his bidding in Alberta.

Mrs. Petrovic: Some members opposite may say that this bill is unnecessary, but that’s simply not the case. In fact, a recent visit to the city of Edmonton’s website illustrates just how real this is. On the list of partners involved in the conversations around the creation of a national urban park in Edmonton’s river valley, the government of Alberta is nowhere to be found. Quite alarming, Alberta’s government was listed as “interested observer”. This is unacceptable and represents how serious the current state of legislation is.

Mrs. Petrovic: It is disappointing to see that the NDP is set on whispering sweet promises of change while sowing seeds of chaos and division. It is disappointing to see the NDP cloak their agenda in the guise of progress, championing policies that promote equality but deliver only discord. Ultimately, their actions lead to disruption, leaving chaos in their wake.

Mrs. Petrovic: The city of Edmonton is currently in discussion with Trudeau and his out-of-touch Liberals about that plan. If successful, it could place large parts of Edmonton’s river valley, the very heartland of Alberta’s capital city, under the jurisdiction of Parks Canada and Trudeau. As if it was not already bad enough that Trudeau and his cronies want to increase taxes on Alberta’s food, fuel, and basically everything else with the introduction of carbon tax and demonize our province with legislation like Bill C-69, also known as the no-more-pipelines act. Now Trudeau wants to take over Edmonton’s river valley, too.

Mrs. Petrovic: It is my pleasure to rise and table the requisite five copies of the Leap Manifesto. The NDP socialist caucus is one of the main signatories. This document calls for an end to fossil fuels, higher corporate taxes, and a progressive carbon tax.
The Speaker: I’m sure the former Member for Bonnyville-Cold Lake will be proud of you.
