Last week, I got sick. Instead of getting some rest, I decided to push it and tried to get things done.
Of course, any attempt at portrait sketching failed miserably. That’s when I thought about drawing rabbits. I have no idea why I picked rabbits (Frustration? Maybe, fever? Or a lack of oxygen getting to my brain because of a stuffy nose?). In the end, these little sketches satisfied me enough that I could call it a day.
I used a grease marker to draw the rabbits. It was the first time I used this kind of pencil and I liked the feel of it and the end result. The only thing that got to me is the “peeling” of the pencil. It is either the most rewarding thing in the world or the most frustrating one. When it flows, it flows. When it breaks, I just grab my utility knife and try not to get too angry.

A china marker is also known as grease pencil, wax pencil, or chinagraph. It is made of hardened colored wax and is water and fade-resistant. It is a writing instrument frequently used on hard, glossy non-porous surfaces such as porcelain, glass, plastic, photograph films, polished surfaces, rock, and metal.

like one of my fave traditional tools for my sketchbook studies is those cheap peel off grease pencils meant for writing on glass/porcelain with.. they have such a great texture and density you can make such a variety of marks with them...

I keep telling myself “if you work now, you’ll have more time to finish up the other page in your sketchbook later” and without fail like five minutes later I’ll have a marker in my hand like “okay yeah but what if I did it right now”
