C’est par le biais du site officiel du projet qu’a été dévoilé ce vendredi le trailer principal de l’anime The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic (Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata : Senjou wo Kakeru Kaifuku Youin). Un ragazzo viene trasportato per sbaglio in un altro mondo e pur non avendo la stoffa dell’eroe si scopre un ottimo guaritore.

Assieme all’annuncio relativo a “Ningen Fushin no Boukenshatachi ga Sekai wo Sukuu You Desu”, è arrivata anche la notizia dell’adattamento anime di un’altra opera edita da MF Books. 

Stiamo parlando di “Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata: Senjou wo Kakeru Kaifuku Youin”, la commedia fantasy isekai firmata da Kurokata.

Ken Usato è un liceale qualunque in tutti i sensi: voti nella media, sogni senza pretese e poco ammirazione per le persone fuori dal comune. Tuttavia, quando incontra il presidente e il vicepresidente del consiglio studentesco, entrambi studenti eccellenti e molto popolari, fa subito amicizia con loro. 

All’improvviso, però, i due vengono inghiottiti da un cerchio magico che li trasporta in un altro mondo, portando accidentalmente con sé anche Ken! A differenza dei suoi compagni, lui non ha la stoffa per l’eroe, ma senza un modo per tornare a casa, si rassegna a passare una vita pacifica in quel nuovo mondo. Nel mentre, però, scopre di avere una rara affinità per la magia di guarigione, cosa che gli regala sia una maggiore fiducia in se stesso che l'attenzione da parte di molti maghi. Una di loro è Rose, leader dei Corpi di Salvataggio, che finisce per arruolarlo di forza nei propri ranghi! 

Anche questa light novel ha fatto il suo debutto sul sito Shousetsuka ni Narou, ma in questo caso il primo capitolo è uscito nel marzo del 2014. Il 12° volume, illustrato da KeG, è stato pubblicato in Giappone il 25 marzo dello scorso anno.

Dal 2017 ne viene serializzata anche una versione manga, disegnata da Reki Kugayama, attualmente giunta all’8° volumetto.

"Konjiki no Word Master" is kind of like that, a group of five classmates are summoned but it kinda veers off from the party thing. Arifureta has a whole class getting Isekai'd, but the focus is entirely on Mr. Edgy. I'm sure you've heard of it. "Dungeon Seeker" is more isekai wish fulfillment power fantasy, but multiple people are isekai'd. "Kanzen Kaihi Healer no Kiseki" could fit. So could "Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata: Senjou wo Kakeru Kaifuku Youin" I've not read them all admittedly

I was thinking something that would play with the specific tropes of how ttrpgs for laughs and plots. Things like, say, the tragic backstory someone made just to have a feat prerequisite comes back to bite them in the ass, or the reason they are op like they always are in Isekais is because they abused the hell out of the rules in character creation. Maybe the DM got pulled in too as the BBEG. A lot of Isekai use the tropes of the kind of fiction they are in to inform the story. If MC got pulled into an MMO, MMO stuff happens. In this case, ttrpg stuff happens. So none of those quite fit, but thank you for the suggestions. I actually know a few of them, Arifureta in particular (though imo neither the manga or anime really manage to do the ln justice) I actually used the main character of Arifureta as an example of how an edge lord ttrpg player character archetype might turn out in a post a couple of years ago.
