My 2D project reflects my new-found passion for warm intense colours.  I have created mixed media collages to reflect colour, my semi abstract takes on the world and my use of collected landscape imagery. I hope that my artwork reminds the viewer of their own connections, their own memories and special places.

 PLASTER WORK OUTWITH WORKSHOP
After completing the Plaster workshop delivered by Lorna I instantly knew that this was the technique that I wanted to take forward for my 3D practice. I carried on experimenting with different textures of flowers in the clay and attempted varying colours of plaster.. I am taking inspiration from nature and then contrasting that with urban spaces. I decided to experiment with height to resemble buildings and neutral colours to reflect cold, flat, concrete. This also emerged as an idea of memory, my resolved samples looked like found fossils, with nature protruding from the rock. I also found that I was expressing my own emotions in my artwork, through the delicate, forgiving folds of nature.

ALL TIME BASED WORK
My Time-based project consists of videos gathered from taking a camera from a walk. I had initial intentions of creating a slow-motion video of snapping branches, however I found that as it was so cold they had frozen the action was too quick and brisk. I then used this to my advantage by capturing footage of ice cracking under foot in slow motion.

(Pressetext)
