breaking: terrible guy gets attached to something he doesn’t deserve

Faulttale rambling:

Error has been imprisoned in Trash Mountain, a dump located under the main city thats collected so much trash it’s nearly as big as the city itself. Breaking his most recent truce with ink, it was decided he couldn’t be trusted (Not that Ink was the one to make the decision.) He was tied up with his own strings and now serves a life sentence in solitude.

Trash Mountain is where every mistake goes by default. Not just garbage put there by the city, but refuse from every universe to exist, including deleted characters. This includes deleted characters. If a characters coding is deleted from their universe, they can’t just disappear, whats leftover is put in the trash, usually never to be seen again.

sometimes they end up in the same area, and get to talk to each other rather than being in isolation for the rest of their lives, like error and coda.

Not every character ends up looking all glitchy like Coda does but since their code was corrupted long before they were deleted, plus their au was all fucked up in the first place, things didn’t go well, so they get to match with their best friend.

my preferred detlinde fix is to stick with a classic and make her play the friendly cousin thing entirely straight for the entire royal academy phase, being a kinda incompetent and prickly but not genuinely malicious figure, slowly eroding rozemyne and wilfried's defenses by lamenting her abuse from georgine and being just kind of too stupid to carry out any plotting, perhaps even keeping the reveal that she's already been ruled out of succession for her incompetence and that georgine intentionally kept her with incompetent tutors to really mirror wilfried, and georgine has completely cut off her support which is still cruel even if she's sort of mean and not very good at anything, maybe even getting charlotte to let her guard down, keeping the act up well enough that even hartmut and ferdinand can't conclusively prove she's up to something even if they warn rozemyne not to trust blindly, having her arranged marriage to ferdinand be a terrible situation for everyone that detlinde is against but can't be stopped because it's georgine's plan, and when he's stuck in ahrensbach he's frustrated by her incompetence but admits that he can't actually find any evidence of malice until, finally, suddenly, at the climax, she reveals that she was a true schemer all along and blows EVERYTHING the hell up, tricking letizia into poisoning ferdinand, and executing a reverse ambush to explode half of the invading troops in some kind of incredibly unethical lanzenavian trap that magic can't overcome, immediately turning the battle from a victory lap into a tense skirmish while ehrenfest has to defend its own foundation from georgine herself.

Technically, yeah, she would be! But I doubt she would ever be that close to them, as she has people she's known far longer, and it might be a little awkward as well? I can honestly see her getting along better with Duck than Database, purely because she has a higher chance of seeing him more

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), one of the lawmakers who has been the most outspoken about President Donald Trump defying court orders to return a Maryland man mistakenly deported to a prison in El Salvador, has a stark warning for everyone living in the U.S.

“If we allow the Trump administration to disregard court orders and tear up the rights to due process, then the freedom of every American is in jeopardy,” Van Hollen told HuffPost in an interview Tuesday.

Van Hollen said he plans to visit El Salvador this week and hopes to finally put eyes on Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the 29-year-old sheet metal worker and father of three currently detained at CECOT, a prison with a reputation of horrific human rights abuses. He said he has been in touch with U.S. embassy officials in El Salvador to plan the logistics of his trip.

“I think it’s important to go try to see him and see what his conditions are and try to meet with government officials there to discuss his release,” Van Hollen said.

CECOT is a high-security facility and visits are not permitted. People held there are also not allowed outdoors, according to The Associated Press.

Van Hollen tried unsuccessfully to arrange a meeting with El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, when he was in Washington, D.C., on Monday to meet with Trump. In his meeting with Trump, Bukele said he would not assist in returning Abrego Garcia to the U.S. and claimed he did not have the authority to “smuggle” him into the country.

Other lawmakers in Congress are trying to work out a trip to El Salvador. Reps. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) and Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) have requested the trip be arranged as a congressional delegation, known as CODEL, Axios reported. Rep. James Comer, (R.-Ky.), who chairs the House Oversight Committee, would need to approve the request. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) is also reportedly looking to visit El Salvador, but it is unclear when that would occur.
