🎯কালার ব্লাইন্ড কী? কালার ব্লাইন্ড হলো এমন একটি সমস্যা যার কারণে কিছু মানুষের রং চিনতে অসুবিধা হয়, অর্থাৎ আমরা কোনো বস্তুকে যে রকম দেখি তারা ওই বস্তুটিকে ভিন্ন রঙের দেখেন। এনাদের কালার ব্লাইন্ড বা বর্ণান্ধ বলা হয়।

সাধারণতো তিনটি রং নীল, সবুজ, লাল বা হলুদ রং আলাদা করে চেনা কিংবা এসব রঙের সংমিশ্রণ দেখে বুঝতে পারা তাঁদের জন্য কষ্টকর হয়ে দাঁড়ায়। মূল রং টি আসলে কী, সেটি বুঝতে তাঁদের হিমশিম খেতে হয়। আবার তাঁরা যে ভুল রং দেখছেন, কেউ বলে দিলেও তা ধরতে পারেন না।

মানুষের চোখের ভিতরে রেটিনা নামক একটি পাতলা স্তর রয়েছে যেটি দুই ধরনের আলোকসংবেদী কোষ বা ফটোরিসেপ্টর (Photoreceptor) ব���ন করে । এদের নাম হোল রডকোষ এবং কোনকোষ। কোনকোষ আমাদের বিভিন্ন রং চেনাতে সাহায্য করে এবং এই কোষের মাধ্যমেই আমরা বিভিন্ন রঙের মধ্যে পার্থক্য বুঝতে পারি। অর্থাৎ আমরা চারপাশে রঙিন যা কিছু দেখি সবই কোনকোষের অবদান। আর অপরদিকে রডকোষগুলো আমাদেরকে আলো শনাক্ত করতে এবং আলোর ধরন বুঝতে সাহায্য করে কিন্তু রং চেনানোর ব্যাপারে রডকোষের কোনো সম্পৃক্ততা নেই।

কালার ব্লাইন্ডের অন্য একটি নাম ‘কালার ভিশন ডিফিসিয়েন্সি’। কালার ব্লাইন্ডনেস একটি জিনগত রোগ যা X ক্রোমোজোম বহন করে। সাধারণত নারীদের চেয়ে পুরুষদের এই রোগ বেশি হয়। প্রতি ১০ জন পুরুষের ১ জনের এই সমস্যা দেখা যায়।

🎯বর্ণান্ধ হওয়ার কারণ:

বর্ণান্ধ হওয়ার পেছনে জেনেটিক ও বংশগত উভয় কারণই রয়েছে। পারকিনসন রোগ, শরীরে ভিটামিন-এ–এর ঘাটতি হলেও বর্ণান্ধতা দেখা দিতে পারে। অনেক সময় স্রেফ বার্ধক্যজনিত কারণেও বর্ণান্ধ হওয়ার আশঙ্কা থাকে।

প্রতিকার: বর্ণান্ধতার কোনো ওষুধ বা চিকিৎসা নেই। তবে বিশেষ কিছু চশমা, কন্টাক্ট লেন্স (যেমন এনক্রোমা গ্লাস) ও মোবাইলভিত্তিক অ্যাপের সাহায্যে কাজ চালিয়ে নেওয়া যায়।

A watercolor study using line art from my new favorite manga "Witch Hat Atelier" by Kamome Shirahama. The art of that mangas so beautiful and vivid I wanted to see what it whould look like with color added. But I also didn't want to just paint strait in my copy of the book either😅 it's too beautiful. So I drew one of the panels from the book with blue pencil and experimented with how I imagined that particular scene would look in color, as well as studying how Shirahama creates such beautiful form with such deft ink work. Truly a master worth studying. The art of Kamome Shirahama is unexplainably gorgeous, words nor my little color test can not do it justice. Go check out the manga for yourselves!
