So when the human first arrived to Earthbread did they brought anything that can be useful like a purse or mini backpack, at least something in their pockets? Would’ve been great to have some minor stuff to help them out like bandaids, chapstick, lotion, etc! Even human currency could be helpful, they could auction a penny or a dollar bill as some kind of rare artifact in exchange for cookie currency. Also the human could even modify their bag into a mobile home for the cookies to use when they go out for an adventure. Plus I think the cookies would be pretty fascinated to see how big the human’s stuff is compared to their size.
I like to think that the human at least has their phone, keys, wallet, or a few little pocket items that they keep with them. Like lotion or lip gloss. Maybe even ear buds if they have those with them too. Their smartphone is easily the most interesting thing they have on their person, as it holds all the information about the human and maybe even their world. Depending on how you view it, the phone can stay powered by unnatural means or it will slowly run out of battery until it becomes useless. Plus, the human has to make sure that it stays dry and that cookies don't abscond with it. I also like to think that the human at least has a backpack with certain items in it. It can be books, seeds, toys, trinkets, or anything else you can find in a backpack (like a journal or scrapbook for example). It can also carry a laptop if the human was attending school/college, which would be an even stronger version of their phone...and yes, the cookies want to steal it as well...or at least have an opportunity to research it. While it's not overly out of pocket for cookies to have some forms of developed technology, I don't think they have quite reached the level of technological advancement that humans have. (if you don't count the space colony from one of the cookie run games) I mean, can you imagine if the human that winds up in Earthbread is an engineer or scientist by profession?
There would be so many things that they know how to do just by using physics or some other form of science to help educate the cookies, as well as them getting taught the ways of magic in return. Imagine if they began to make mechs or robots, give rise to a new "kingdom" that looks like a human city (with skyscrapers and such), and they also develop a new way of governance for cookies to use. It would probably inspire a lot of cookies to revive some technologies, or broaden upon existing technology, like the cars from the Golden Cheese Kingdom or the bikes/vehicles that certain entities utilize.
The human would invent bigger airplanes, jets, rockets, and defensive turrets to help protect the new city that hails the human as the ruler (despite them mostly just inventing things and utilizing their college learned skills to improve the life of the cookies). Imagine even more improvements as well! Instead of typical candy trains, the human constructs bullet trains, trams, and other various types of transportation. Including inventing navy-grade battleships, sonar technology, computerized functions, and newer technologies that enable a better lives for their cookie subjects. I like to think that the city that the human builds to mirror their own world would become known as the "City of Innovation", as the cookies that live there have optimized how life can be in cities. Such as public transportation, numerous parks, rooftop gardens, water (or soda) filtering plants, electricity, vehicles, airports, sea ports, optimized trains, solar/hydro powerplants, and a unique political system that is primarily overseen by the human's selected overseers, whom they choose based on positive merits. However, the resident cookies rarely see the human, as they only reserve an appearance for important matters. Such as a visiting monarch from a neighboring kingdom or a political concern of great importance. Otherwise, they mostly reside in the large building that serves as the center of their city. All this becomes possible because the human either takes initiative to expand the technology in the cookie world with a degree they have, or they work with cookies to help reverse engineer their technology so that cookiekind can benefit from the technology they have on them at the time they visit Earthbread.
If the human builds up their city from scratch, I like to think it looks like this. A very solarpunk and futuristic vibe to it. The city of innovation.

Monica Lenis was in Great Exuma, Bahamas, yesterday when she caught this image of Starship's explosion. Thank you, Monica! SpaceX's flagship vehicle, #Starship - designed to take humans to the moon and Mars - exploded midair late yesterday minutes after its test launch from a beach in south Texas. Other aircraft flying over the Gulf of Mexico were forced to alter their courses in order to avoid the falling debris, which was seen by beachgoers in the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos. Starship itself was completely lost. Meanwhile, the Super Heavy booster that had launched Starship successfully returned to the launchpad and was caught in midair. In what sounds like an attempt to hand over air traffic control systems to Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite system and his AI company, Trump today said—and here are his words, as Aaron Rupar transcribed them—“We’re all gonna sit down and do a great computerized system for our control towers. Brand new. Not pieced together, obsolete, like it is, land-based. Trying to hook up a land based system to a satellite system. The first thing that some experts told me when this happened is you can’t hook up land to satellites and you can’t hook up satellites to land. It doesn’t work. We spend billions of billions of dollars trying to renovate an old, broken system, instead of just saying cut it loose, and let’s spend less money and build a great system one by two or three companies, very good companies, specialists, that’s all it is. They used 39 companies. That means that 39 different hookups have to happen. And I don’t know how many people of you are good in terms of all the kinds of things necessary for that. And it's very complex stuff. But when you have 39 different companies working on hooking up different cities at different people. You need one company. With one set of equipment. And there are some countries that have unbelievable air controller systems. And they would’ve, bells would’ve gone off when that helicopter literally even hit the same height. Because it traveled a long distance before it hit. It was just like, just wouldn’t stop. Follow the line. But bells and whistles would’ve gone off. They have ‘em where it actually could virtually turn the thing around. It would’ve just never happened if we had the right equipment . And one of things that’s gonna be, I'm gonna speaking to John and to Mike and to Chuck and everybody, we have to get together and just as a single bill just pass where we get the best control system. When I land in my plane, privately, I use a system from another country because my captain tells me, I’m landing in New York and I’m using a sys— I won’t tell you what country, but I use a system from another country because the captain says ‘This thing is so bad, it’s so obsolete.’ And we can’t have that.”
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy posted today that “the DOGE team” is “going to plug in to help upgrade our aviation system,” saying that “‘experienced’ Washington bureaucrats are the reason our nation’s infrastructure is crumbling.”
Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton pointed out that “US airlines had gone 16 years without fatal crashes. Then MAGA fired the FAA chief, gutted the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, and threatened air traffic controllers with layoffs. Now there have been two fatal crashes. Hope your unvetted 22-year-olds fix things fast.”
Critics of the idea of Musk taking over the nation’s air traffic control systems note that his Tesla electric vehicles have the highest fatal accident rate among all car brands in America. The average fatal crash rate is 2.8 per billion vehicle miles driven; Tesla has a rate of 5.6 per billion miles driven. On social media, “God” posted: “Thou shalt not let the foreign billionaire whose rockets blow up all the time anywhere near the air traffic control system,” an apparent reference to the January 16 explosion of a SpaceX rocket over the Caribbean that scattered debris over the region led the Federal Aviation Administration to lock down airspace over Turks and Caicos.

Evelyn Berezin in 1976 at the Long Island office of her company Redactron. She developed one of the earliest word processors and helped usher in a technological revolution. Evelyn Berezin said her word processor would help secretaries become more efficient at their jobs. Photo By Barton Silverman/New York Times.
Evelyn Berezin, “Godmother of the Word Processor!” The Woman That Made Bill Gates and Steve Jobs Possible
Evelyn Berezin (1925-2018) was born in the Bronx to poor Russian-Jewish immigrants. Growing up, she loved reading science fiction and wished to study physics. She excelled at school and graduated two years early. Berezin had to wear make-up and fake her age to get a job at a research lab. She ended up studying economics because it was a more “fitting” subject for women at the time. During World War II, she finally received a scholarship to study physics at New York University. Berezin studied at night, while working full time at the International Printing Company during the day. She continued doing graduate work at New York University, with a fellowship from the US Atomic Energy Commission. In 1951, she joined the Electronic Computer Corporation, designing some of the world’s very first computers. At the time, computers were massive machines that could only do several specific functions.

Evelyn Berezin, “Godmother of the Word Processor.” Born: April 12, 1925, The Bronx, New York City, NY — Died: December 8, 2018, ArchCare at Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, New York, NY
Berezin headed the Logic Design Department, and came up with a computer to manage the distribution of magazines, and to calculate firing distances for US Army artillery. In 1957, Berezin transferred to work at Teleregister, where she designed the first banking computer and the first computerized airline reservation system (linking computers in 60 cities, and never failing once in the 11 years that it ran). Her most famous feat was in 1968 when she created the world’s first personal word processor to ease the plight of secretaries (then making up 6% of the workforce).
“Without Ms. Berezin There Would Be No Bill Gates, No Steve Jobs, No Internet, No Word Processors, No Spreadsheets; Nothing That Remotely Connects Business With The 21st Century.” — The Times of Israel (12 December 2018)
The following year, she founded her own company, Redactron Corporation, and built a mini-fridge-sized word processor, the “Data Secretary”, with a keyboard and printer, cassette tapes for memory storage, and no screen. With the ability to go back and edit text, cut and paste, and print multiple copies at once, Berezin’s computer freed the world “from the shackles of the typewriter”. The machine was an in instant hit, selling thousands of units around the world. Berezin’s word processor not only set the stage for future word processing software, like Microsoft Word, but for compact personal computers in general. It is credited with being the world’s first office computer. Not surprisingly, it has been said that without Evelyn Berezin “there would have been no Bill Gates, and no Steve Jobs”.
Evelyn Berezin Pioneered Word Processors and Butted Heads With Men! A ‘loud woman,’ she studied physics and found that to get to the top she had to start her own company. Evelyn Berezin later became a mentor to entrepreneurs, venture capitalist and director of companies. Photo: Berezin Family. Wall Street Journal
“Why Is This Woman Not Famous?” British Writer Gwyn Headley Wrote In A 2010 Blog Post. — The Times of Israel
Redactron grew to a public company with over 500 employees. As president, she was the only woman heading a corporation in the US at the time, and was described as the “Most Senior Businesswoman in the United States”. Redactron was eventually bought out by Burroughs Corporation, where Berezin worked for several more years. In 1980, she moved on to head a venture capital group investing in new technologies. Berezin served on the boards of a number of organizations, including Stony Brook University and the Brookhaven National Laboratory, and was a sought-after consultant for the world’s biggest tech companies.
She was a key part of the American Women’s Economic Development Corporation for 25 years, training thousands of women in how to start businesses of their own, with a success rate of over 60%. In honour of her parents, she established the Sam and Rose Berezin Endowed Scholarship, paying tuition in full for an undergraduate science student each year. Sadly, Berezin passed away earlier this month. She left her estate to fund a new professorship or research centre at Stony Brook University. Berezin won multiple awards and honourary degrees, and was inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame.

I’m listening to the Graphic Audio versions of The Murderbot Diaries today.
I’m liking what the sound effects add to the story, and I like the performance of the actor voicing Murderbot.
But I spent a lot of All Systems Red being annoyed at the voice acting choices. Other people have mentioned that Mensah sounds too young, which she does, but a much bigger problem is that Mensah, Pin-Lee, and Arada sound very similar to each other, to the point where it’s very difficult to tell which of them is supposed to be talking any time there’s a group conversation. Also, Ratthi’s voice actor either has or is doing a very heavy accent that I can’t place geographically and it is distracting every time he speaks (which, considering he’s third billed after Murderbot and Mensah, is a lot).
But I managed to power through and made it to Artificial Condition, and it is so much better! I love the audiobooks with Kevin R Free, but my one big problem with them is that I really dislike the voices he chose for both ART and Mikki. I can see why he wouldn’t want to make the obvious choice of having ART sound flat and computerized the way it does in my head when I’m reading, especially with the parallels drawn to HAL, but I don’t like the way he avoids that by making ART sound like Murderbot perceives it: snide. Constantly snide.
For the Graphic Audio recording, they’ve cast a female voice actor for ART, and I LOVE what she’s doing with the voice so far. Her performance is not completely unemotional or without personality, but it’s a much more convincing portrayal of what a machine intelligence might sound like and it just lets the character shine through so much more naturally. And the choices keep being good when we get to the collective hiring Murderbot, with Rami, Tapan, and Maro all easily distinguished from each other and well acted.
I hope the improvements continue in Rogue Protocol and that some of the odd choices with the Preservation crew get refined a bit by the time we see them again in Exit Strategy.

What Happens In Vegas Pt.1
Yeosang x fem!reader
Description: By complete chance two people from two different worlds meet in a place where the phrase “What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas” was born. They spend their time getting to know each other and building a bond that might lead to one of them uprooting their life at the end of the trip.
Word Count: 2454
Notes: first person POV, drinking, gambling
This vacation is more needed than I initially realized, the tension in my shoulders finally releasing enough to let my mind not focus on how this dress sits against my skin. Dressing up while traveling solo seems dangerous, but my job has me doing it in places that aren’t in my home country. The only difference is this time I’m dressing up for myself only, my job doesn’t allow me to build relationships outside of acquaintances since I’m constantly moving from country to country to find the best stories. Freelance writing always made sense to me, and now as a traveling blogger, my only real focus is finding where I truly belong.
I’m celebrating myself and my accomplishments on this trip, finally embracing the freedom I have from no longer working for anyone but myself. I plan to do that the only way I know how by experiencing the places I travel to and what they have to offer. Las Vegas has so many experiences under its glamorous look, from hidden places in casinos to well-known celebrity’s history. Of course, the only place to start is a casino, specifically the one I’m staying in.
Walking out of the elevators I can feel eyes on me, either out of curiosity, envy, or lust. I don’t blame them, I know my worth and I have the right amount of confidence that shows in my walk. My dress screams confidence too, with the black color and form-fitting design, I even stared at myself in the mirror.
Without thinking I make my way to the counter to get my casino card and put my information in the system so I can get my earnings, hopefully. The nice woman at the counter asks me, “Are you here by yourself?”
Without missing a beat I smile and answer with a small laugh, “I’m crazy aren’t I?” We both laugh together before I make my way over to the one table I know I can win at, roulette. It seems funny to have a card when I make it to the table and see they are still using chips at the table, but I know at one point I will make my way over to the computerized game so I can use my logic while being able to see the last winning hits.
The one good thing about my previous job was that I could make a lot of money and never have to use it. America feeds off of money, and that’s why I left. I would have never had any money to spare if I stayed here, and now I can have fun without worrying about how much I can and cannot spend.
Instantly I hand over a $100 bill to receive my chips and wait for the table worker to tell me when I can bet. It doesn’t take long for the table to fill up after I sit down, and my first bets use all of my money. 25 on black, 25, on even, 25 on the 2nd 12, and 25 on the 3rd column. I always start with these bets, never changing my strategy, it’s more likely to have a hit with these bets than not. I watch with a blank face as the ball spins, zero worries if I have one hit, all hits, or no hits.
Before I know it I’m being pat on the back and a smile makes its way onto my face, 24 was hit and it checked off every one of my bets. I make my next bets and continue to bump my winnings with either one hit or a few, by the time I decide to leave the table there is a crowd of people watching, wondering how a woman by herself in Vegas was winning roulette like it was a simple mobile game.
“Excuse me,” I repeat many times to make my way out of the crowd holding my shoulder purse close to me as it was full of my winnings. I try to make my way back to my hotel room to drop off most of the money as I know having a lot of money on you in Vegas is probably the dumbest thing you could do. I had a few drinks by now and the buzz was working its way through my system.
Pressing the button to go up on the elevator I wait patiently, ignoring all the prying eyes of those within the casino. Checking the time on my watch I see that it’s around 2 a.m. and mentally make a note of how long I was at the table, 2 hours. The elevator doors open and I instantly walk on thinking no one would be coming down at this hour, but I was so wrong.
My smaller frame makes contact with someone leaving the elevator and I stumble out of shock that someone would be coming down, their hands instantly grab onto my shoulders to balance my stance. “Oh god, I’m so sorry,” I say instantly and move one of my hands to push some curled hair from my face to look at the person who is still holding me steady. When my eyes meet his I realize how much this might seem like a cliche, but I can’t really care much as I do deserve to have one cute moment in my life, even if this will be the last time.
Instead of saying the simple ‘it’s okay,’ he simply chuckles at my apology and moves us to the side out of the way of the elevator as there are people behind me wanting to get to their rooms as well. The confusion builds in my mind when I realize instead of walking away he kept me at arm's length and moved us out of people's way. “I-”
“I’m not mad, I just have to talk to you more.” He admits, his hands slightly squeezing my upper arms that he still has within his grasp.
“Oh,” I pause thinking of my next words while getting lost in his eyes that draw me in. “Why is that?”
“I’m not sure, but I plan on figuring it out. I’m Yeosang by the way.” He steps back slightly dropping his hands from my arms and stretching one out in what seems like an awkward handshake. I can hear the slight foreign accent in his speech and realize he isn’t American and English definitely isn’t his first language. Although, I must admit he is pretty good at it.
I shake his hand softly, reigning in my need to show that I’m an independent woman through the interaction. “I’m y/n. You’re not from here, don’t make yourself uncomfortable on my account I hardly live in America myself.”
“Oh, good.” There is a building awkward silence and I notice he might be slightly uncomfortable in an open setting.
“Yeosang,” I say his name as a way to test my pronunciation and he seems pleased by the way I said it. “I was heading to my room to drop off something, if you want to come with you can, or we can meet up. How long are you here for?”
“You don’t mind?” I nod at his words seeing a relief flash in his eyes that makes him look adorable in contrast to his strictly handsome features. “I’ll be here for one more day.” He makes the move to push the ‘up’ button on the elevator, showing he really does want to spend more time together.
“So you leave tomorrow or the following day?” I ask to fill the empty space hoping to limit the awkward tense.
“Tomorrow,” he says, there is slight sadness in his voice that makes me look up into his eyes only to look right back at the elevators as I hear the doors ding. We both step onto the elevator leaving some space between us but more space between the other strangers who joined the ride. “What floor?” He asks looking at me as he is closer to the buttons.
“Oh, um, the top floor.” I avoid his eyes as I say that, realizing that I’m exposing how much I splurged on this solo trip. He lets out a small chuckle at my avoidance yet hits the button anyway and shuffles slightly closer to me. Onlookers would think we have known each other for years with how close we stand, but in reality, it's a shared comfort we have around each other that was instant and I only now realize it. I never felt a sense of anxiety when he touched me, only feeling apologetic for running into him, and I never felt unsafe in his presence which should be wrong, but it feels more than right.
Slowly people exit onto their floors eventually leaving us alone in the small space but neither of us moves to create space between us, we both enjoy it. When the elevator stops he lets me leave the space first, either out of chivalry or just so I can lead the way. We remain in silence on the short walk to my suite, embracing the comfortable silence that has built between us. It should be scandalous to bring a man to your room during the first time meeting, but nothing about this interaction feels that way. I open the door with my key card and hold it open behind me for him to enter, I quickly make my way to the living space to hurriedly put away the excess amount of money I have on me, hoping he doesn’t see. I never liked flaunting what I have, but I can’t lie, the independence of it all makes me feel confident in myself. I was able to afford this space and risk losing money all on my own, it feels nice.
“Funny, your room is the mirror image of mine.” He says, his confidence rising in the private space. It takes a moment for his words to register in my mind.
“You also have a suite?” I ask now turning to face his as my task is complete and standing up straight to watch as he works out the difference in the rooms.
He chuckles again and I can’t lie and say the sound isn’t attractive. “Yeah, my bedroom is actually on that side,” he points to the opposite side of the living space of my room, “and the couch is on that wall.”
“Guess you should know your way around then,” I let out my own laugh. “Do you mind if I change into something more comfortable? This dress is starting to feel constricting.”
I watch as his eyes trail over my body, taking in the details to remember before responding, “go ahead.”
I scamper over to the bedroom and rush to grab an oversized t-shirt and comfortable shorts, knowing I want nothing more than to just relax and I just hope he is okay with that after all I did today. As I go to leave the room after changing I notice the door was left slightly open in my rush and I only hope the mirror in the room did not let him see, but I can’t fight the excitement in me that slightly hopes he could see. Walking out into the living area I see he has made himself comfortable on the couch and is scrolling through his phone, but the second he sees my figure through his peripheral vision he puts the phone away and gives me his undivided attention. My heart speeds up at this.
“You don’t mind just hanging out here, do you? I know you leave tomorrow, so I hope you didn’t have any plans for the night, and if you did, you can totally go do them, I’ll just hopefully get your number an-”
“Y/n.” He cuts me off.
“I was rambling. Sorry.” We both chuckle and he pats the spot next to him on the couch silently asking me to sit near him which I don’t hesitate missing that comfortable feeling between us.
He smiles when I sit near him, “It was cute. I have no plans, I was just going to walk around because I was bored.”
“So you don’t mind hanging out here with me tonight?” I ask to settle my nerves that have finally been set free from the intoxication that is leaving my body.
“I want to be here, I told you I want to figure out why I stopped you.” He reminds me, and it makes a smile return to my face and slight embarrassment for how we met.
Without second guessing I open my phone and go to create a new contact to hand to him, I don’t want to risk him leaving and us never speaking again. It shocks me, and him. Usually, I wouldn’t mind letting someone I meet become someone I met in passing, but for some reason, the thought of him becoming that sends anxiety running through my veins. He puts his number in my phone then texts himself, and when he hands me back my phone I can’t help but smile at the name he chose. It's just his name but the emojis that follow remind me of his cute laugh, the simple blushing face, and a white heart.
“How long until you leave?” I ask.
“About 4 hours.”
I look at him with a shocked expression, “why are you awake?” He laughs, genuinely laughs at my expression while covering his mouth in the process, a little action I can already feel myself adorning.
“The travel time is more than enough time for me to sleep and readjust to the time change.” His explanation makes a lot of sense, and I understand it completely from my own travels.
“Where are you from?” The question had been bubbling in the back of my mind since I picked up on his accent, but there was just never the right time to ask.
“South Korea, have you been?” My heart stops at the revelation.
“Oh my god, it makes sense!” The way my voice picks up intensity makes him now look at me in shock but also silently asking me to explain. “Oh, sorry,” I chuckle, “I have been to South Korea many times and fell in love with the country. I was actually going back after this trip.” He makes a noise of understanding and turns to face me more on the couch placing his arm against the back, and I don’t miss the way his fingers begin to play with the curled hair that I left down.
“You fell in love with South Korea, but do you think you could fall in love in South Korea?”

YES! Yes, yes, yes, a hundred times yes. I have to add that I think EFT is both created and exacerbated by automation—the use of computers and internet in these functions. (I’m referring mostly to the first example in her essay, paying an insurance company, and similar things—making appointments, contacting doctors, etc.). Remember how computerization was supposed to make everything easier, seamless, better? Remember? I certainly do, because I’m old enough to have participated in society as an adult before mass computerization and automation. Meaning, I used things like cash and I wrote checks and I put bills in the mail. With a stamp. My point is, when tasks like the ones described in the essay are foisted off onto automated systems, everyone assumes that the thing has been taken care of, or addressed, either by another person, or by “the system,” when it most likely has NOT. So then the responsibility falls to the patient or customer, and, in the case of patients, who are sometimes physically or mentally ill, it is utterly exhausting and soul crushing to have to prove your case again and again; to have to repeat tasks in the hope that this time it will be right!
Another example I can think of is this: even when you go to the doctor that you’ve been seeing for years for something non-routine, you have to fill out a bunch of paperwork while in the waiting room, one page of which is your entire medical history (which they already have because you’ve been a patient for YEARS), as well as the reason for your current visit. Then you go in the exam room and a nurse asks why you’re in today. Didn’t they read the medical autobiography you just wrote? No? Oh, right, because it’s ALREADY IN YOUR INTERNET PORTAL, which the nurse also didn’t bother to read. So you tell them the reason. Ok, great. Doc will be in shortly. Doctor comes in. “What brings you in today?” they ask. And you do the dance all over again for the third fucking time in thirty minutes. But nobody fucking looks at your chart in the portal or on paper. Back when paper charts were the only medical records, people USED them, because there weren’t multiple options.
Long kvetch shortened: internet/computerized automation has NOT made our lives easier. If anything, it’s just another, more expensive level of complexity to navigate. And it has led to, and creates, Executive Function Theft. It’s self perpetuating.
End rant.
I think this is just a trend everywhere but I've been very frustrated this week by how much admin work is being outsourced to me as the patient/customer.
My orthodontist tells me I can make an appointment with the surgeon. I call the surgeon. They tell me I need a new referral. I call the orthodontist. They do a referral. I call the surgeon. Referral didn't come through. They tell me about their special unique system we have to use. I call the ortho again and walk them through the referral. I call the surgeon. They say the referral was missing some details so they have to do it again. I call the ortho.
The insurance company calls me about repair shops. I give them the name of the repair shop which I already gave them yesterday. They say they're not in their system but I can use them, but I have to call the repair shop to ask them to contact the insurance company. I call the repair shop and they say the insurance company is supposed to email them.
I feel like at a certain point these constant fetch quests become unreasonable?? Is it too much to expect these groups to communicate with each other instead of making me run back and forth between them???

“Why Regular Wheel Alignment is Crucial for Your Car’s Safety and Efficiency”
When was the last time you had your car’s wheel alignment checked? If you’re like most drivers, it might not be at the top of your vehicle maintenance checklist.
But here’s the truth: regular wheel alignment is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to ensure your car’s safety, performance, and fuel efficiency.
At ProShop, we’ve seen firsthand how something as basic as poor alignment can lead to big problems. Let’s explore why this service deserves your attention — and how we do it right.
What Is Wheel Alignment?
Wheel alignment refers to the adjustment of a vehicle’s suspension — the system that connects the vehicle to its wheels. It’s not about adjusting the tires or wheels themselves but ensuring the angles at which they contact the road are correct.
There are three primary angles checked during alignment:
Camber — inward or outward tilt of the tire
Toe — how much the tires turn inward or outward
Caster — the angle of the steering axis
Even small deviations in these angles can affect how your car handles, how your tires wear, and even how much fuel you use.
Why Is Regular Alignment Important?
1. Improves Driving Safety
Poor alignment can cause your car to pull to one side, making it harder to steer straight and increasing the risk of accidents — especially at high speeds or in wet conditions. Proper alignment ensures stable and predictable vehicle handling.
2. Extends Tire Life
Misaligned wheels cause uneven tire wear. This shortens the lifespan of your tires and can lead to dangerous blowouts. A well-aligned vehicle spreads the workload evenly across all tires, maximizing their life and saving you money.
3. Enhances Fuel Efficiency
When your wheels aren’t aligned, your engine has to work harder to move the car forward due to added rolling resistance. This extra effort means more fuel consumption. Proper alignment helps your car glide more easily, increasing fuel economy.
4. Smoother Ride Quality
Vibrations, pulling to one side, or a shaky steering wheel can all be symptoms of misalignment. Regular alignment checks keep your ride smooth and enjoyable.
How Often Should You Get a Wheel Alignment?
It’s generally recommended to check alignment every 10,000 km or at least once a year. However, if you hit a pothole, curb, or notice uneven tire wear or steering issues, you should get it checked sooner.
Why Choose ProShop for Wheel Alignment?
At ProShop, we go beyond basic alignment. Our diverse team of trained professionals uses state-of-the-art alignment machines and regularly calibrated equipment to deliver precise results.
Computerized alignment systems for accuracy
Tailored adjustments based on your vehicle type and driving needs
Detailed reports post-service, so you understand the work done
We don’t just align your wheels — we realign your driving experience.
Final Thoughts
Think of wheel alignment as a health checkup for your car. It might not be as urgent as a flat tire, but over time, ignoring it can lead to costly repairs, increased fuel bills, and compromised safety.

Grapes HMS: Not Just EMR, A Complete Health Informatics Evolution
In the vast landscape of healthcare technology, few companies can claim to have shaped the narrative of digital health transformation as profoundly as Grapes HMS. For over 25 years, Grapes has been more than just a software provider—it has been a visionary pioneer, pushing the boundaries of what hospital management systems could achieve long before "digital transformation" became an industry buzzword.

The Early Days: When Hospital Software Meant Just Billing
Cast your mind back to the late 1990s. The healthcare industry's relationship with technology was primarily transactional. Hospital Management Software (HMS) existed for one primary purpose: billing. Patient records were still predominantly paper-based, doctors relied on handwritten prescriptions, and the idea of digitizing clinical workflows seemed like a distant future.
It was in this environment that Grapes HMS emerged with a revolutionary vision—what if hospital software could do more? What if technology could transform not just administrative processes but clinical care itself? While competitors focused on refining billing modules, Grapes boldly ventured into uncharted territory: Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Breaking Barriers: The EMR Revolution
Introducing EMR systems when most healthcare professionals were still comfortable with paper records was no small feat. The challenges were multifaceted:
youtube
Technological Resistance: Senior physicians, accustomed to decades of paper-based practice, were understandably hesitant to adopt digital tools that required new learning curves and workflows.
Legal Misconceptions: Many hospitals harbored concerns about the legal validity of electronic records. Would digital documentation hold up in court? Could electronic signatures replace handwritten ones?
Infrastructure Limitations: In many regions, particularly in developing areas of India and Africa, reliable internet connectivity was not a given, making web-based solutions seem impractical.
Data Security Concerns: With patient confidentiality at stake, there was justified apprehension about digitalizing sensitive health information.
Against these formidable obstacles, Grapes HMS pressed forward with unwavering determination. They didn't just develop software; they embarked on an educational journey, demonstrating to healthcare institutions that EMRs were not just viable but vital for modern healthcare delivery.
Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE): Bringing Doctors Into the Digital Fold
One of Grapes' most significant achievements was the successful implementation of Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems. This marked a crucial step in bridging the gap between administrative technology and clinical practice.
CPOE systems allowed physicians to enter medication orders, laboratory tests, and imaging studies directly into a computer system rather than writing them by hand. The benefits were immediate and profound:
Reduced Medication Errors: Electronic prescription systems eliminated ambiguities from handwriting, leading to fewer dispensing errors.
Enhanced Clinical Decision Support: Integrated alerts for drug interactions and allergies improved patient safety.
Streamlined Workflows: Orders transmitted electronically reached departments instantly, eliminating delays and lost paper requests.
Improved Documentation: Every order was time-stamped and authenticated, creating a comprehensive audit trail.
By focusing on making these systems intuitive and value-adding for clinicians, Grapes HMS succeeded where many others had failed: they brought even the most technology-resistant physicians into the digital healthcare ecosystem.
The COVID-19 Catalyst: Digital Health's Defining Moment
For years, Grapes HMS had been laying the groundwork for a digital health revolution. Then came 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic—a global crisis that became an unexpected accelerant for digital transformation in healthcare.
Almost overnight, remote consultations became a necessity rather than a luxury. Paper records, which required physical handling, became potential infection vectors. The ability to access patient information remotely became crucial as healthcare workers were redeployed across departments and facilities.
In this pivotal moment, Grapes HMS's decades of experience and robust technology infrastructure positioned them perfectly to respond. Hospitals and clinics that had previously been hesitant to embrace digital tools now found themselves with no alternative. Grapes stepped in with solutions that were not hastily assembled pandemic responses but mature, tested systems refined through years of development and real-world implementation.
The pandemic accelerated digital adoption across India and Africa, and Grapes HMS was ready to scale. Their hybrid architecture—combining web, mobile, and desktop applications—proved particularly valuable in regions with variable connectivity, allowing healthcare providers to maintain continuity of care even under challenging circumstances.
Beyond EMR: The Complete Health Informatics Ecosystem
What truly sets Grapes HMS apart in today's competitive landscape is their comprehensive approach to health informatics. Understanding that healthcare organizations need more than standalone solutions, they have developed an integrated ecosystem that addresses every aspect of modern healthcare delivery:

This breakthrough has eliminated a major barrier to adoption, giving healthcare providers confidence that their digital transition won't compromise their legal standing.
Hybrid Architecture for Universal Access
Recognizing the diverse technological infrastructures across different healthcare settings, Grapes HMS has developed a versatile hybrid architecture that combines:
Web Applications: For comprehensive access from any internet-connected device
Mobile Solutions: Enabling point-of-care documentation and decision support
Desktop Software: Providing robust functionality even in offline environments
This flexible approach ensures that healthcare providers can access critical information when and where they need it, regardless of connectivity challenges.
Seamless Inpatient and Outpatient Workflows
Healthcare doesn't happen in silos, and neither should healthcare technology. Grapes HMS has developed seamless workflows that bridge the gap between outpatient consultations and inpatient care, ensuring continuity of documentation and treatment plans as patients move through different care settings.
Error-Free Data Management
In healthcare, data accuracy isn't just about operational efficiency—it's a matter of patient safety. How a Warehouse Management System Enhances Indian Freight Forwarding Efficiency
Indian logistics is expanding at a historically record rate through an e-commerce boom, growing globalization, and infra expansion. With tight deadlines on which freight forwarding organizations operate, complex compliance processes, and tougher consumers, seamless handling by the warehouses is the most important goal. And here comes the warehouse management system in India into the picture. A Warehouse Management System (WMS) is not just an inventory system—it is the center of the digital revolution in supply chains, equipping businesses with the power to automate processes, save costs, and drive service levels. Here are ways in which WMS is transforming freight forwarding in India, with live examples of industry leaders who are setting the trend. What is a Warehouse Management System? A warehouse management system is a computer program that assists in making and automating warehouse and distribution center operations. It automates functions like inventory tracking, picking and packing, space allocation, order processing, and shipment dispatch. When used in conjunction with freight forwarding software, it gives end-to-end real-time visibility into the supply chain. The Growing Role of WMS in India's Freight Ecosystem As India's logistics industry is expected to reach $380 billion by 2025, warehousing parks are making a surge throughout the nation. Prime locations such as Bhiwandi (Mumbai), Dadri (NCR), Sriperumbudur (Chennai), and Chakan (Pune) are now hosts to intelligent warehouses with feature-rich WMS systems. These warehouses are crucial in freight forwarding—particularly in third-party logistics (3PL) and fourth-party logistics (4PL) activities—where speed, precision, and compliance are vital. Topmost Key Benefits of a Warehouse Management System in India
End-to-End Visibility of Inventory Throughout Warehouses A WMS gives companies full control of the inventory of several warehouses in the master facility, with real-time visibility. This is flat-out essential to freight forwarders who have huge amounts of incoming and outgoing freight across different states. Mahindra Logistics Example Mahindra Logistics utilizes a cutting-edge WMS to manage multi-client inventory across its pan-India warehouse network. It has assisted them in maintaining high inventory accuracy and managing complex B2B and B2C order fulfillment for automotive, ecommerce, and FMCG customers.
Improved Order Processing and Turnaround Times Speed is the key to freight forwarding. A WMS streamlines picking and packing, allocates work to warehouse workers, and plugs into TMS (transport management systems) directly for quicker dispatches. Example: Delivery One of India's biggest integrated logistics service providers, Delhivery relies on WMS for high-volume, high-speed order processing. Their computerized Bangalore and Delhi NCR warehouses process over 2 million shipments a day, with shippers and customers getting real-time status messages.
Space Cost Optimization Enhanced Indian city warehouse locations are costly. A WMS optimizes by using smart algorithms to suggest class-leading storage policies and avoid space wastage. Example: Flipkart Flipkart is employing AI-powered warehouse management systems in its customer fulfillment centers in cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Pune. WMS enables proper racking, slotting, and space planning, especially at times of increased demand like during Big Billion Days. Enhanced Compliance and Documentation India's freight forwarding business has to cope with tight customs, GST, and E-Way Bill compliance. An Indian warehouse management system keeps track of all stocks moving and shipments and is compliant with government regulations. Blue Dart Express: For example Blue Dart's WMS integrates with customs portals and generates real-time documentation, reducing paperwork error and enabling faster clearance at ports like Mumbai and Chennai.
Seamless Integration with Freight Forwarding Software A freight forwarding software and WMS combination offers end-to-end visibility into logistics. It integrates warehousing activity with transportation, billing, communication with customers, and tracking deliveries. Example: QuickMove Technology QuickMove possesses an end-to-end software solution for logistics where its WMS interfaces directly with freight forward modules. How Warehouse Management System in India Enhances Freight Forwarding Efficiency Indian logistics are expanding at an unprecedented historical level with the aid of an explosion in e-commerce, growing globalization, and infrastructure expansion. With stringent timelines against which freight forwarders operate, complex compliance mechanisms, and better-off consumers, smooth handling by the warehouses remains a priority of the highest order. And it is here that the Indian warehouse management system comes into play

Common Car Problems That Need Auto Repair in Springdale AR
When you’re cruising through the scenic roads of Springdale, Arkansas, the last thing you want is your car making strange noises or breaking down unexpectedly. Unfortunately, car problems are inevitable—especially if regular maintenance is overlooked. Whether you're driving to work, dropping off kids at school, or exploring the Ozarks, staying on top of your vehicle's health is crucial.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore common car issues that signal it’s time to seek auto repair Springdale AR—and how addressing them early can save you from bigger headaches (and repair bills) down the road.
🚗 1. Warning Lights on the Dashboard
One of the most obvious signs your car needs attention is when a warning light appears on the dashboard.
Check Engine Light: This could mean anything from a loose gas cap to a serious engine problem.
Brake Warning Light: Indicates low brake fluid or worn brake pads.
Battery Light: Suggests issues with the alternator or battery charging system.
Ignoring these lights is like ignoring a fire alarm. If you’re unsure, the best move is to book an auto repair Springdale AR expert for a full diagnostic check.

🛑 2. Squeaky or Grinding Brakes
Your brakes are your first line of defense on the road. If you hear squeaking, grinding, or feel vibrations when braking, don’t delay.
Common brake issues:
Worn-out brake pads
Damaged rotors
Low brake fluid
Caliper malfunction
Brake failure is dangerous. Timely auto repair in Springdale AR can restore full braking power and ensure your safety.
🔧 3. Engine Performance Issues
If your car’s acceleration feels sluggish, it misfires, or you notice rough idling, it’s a clear sign your engine isn’t functioning properly.
Causes may include:
Clogged fuel injectors
Dirty air filters
Faulty spark plugs
Malfunctioning sensors
A Springdale mechanic can run a computerized diagnostic to pinpoint the exact issue and fix it before the engine suffers long-term damage.
🔋 4. Dead or Weak Battery
If your car struggles to start or the electrical components seem weak, your battery could be the culprit. Batteries typically last 3–5 years, but extreme Arkansas temperatures can shorten their lifespan.
Signs of battery trouble:
Slow crank
Clicking noise when starting
Dim headlights
Swollen battery case
Local experts offering auto repair Springdale AR can test your battery and replace it if needed to avoid roadside emergencies.
💧 5. Fluid Leaks
Leaking fluids under your car are never a good sign. Whether it’s oil, coolant, brake fluid, or transmission fluid, leaks can cause severe engine damage if not addressed.
Color indicators:
Brown or black – Engine oil
Red – Transmission or power steering fluid
Green or orange – Coolant
Clear or yellow – Brake fluid
Don’t just top off leaking fluids—get a professional to locate and seal the source through certified auto repair in Springdale AR.
🔥 6. Overheating Engine
Springdale summers can be hot, and if your cooling system isn’t functioning correctly, your engine may overheat. This can lead to engine failure or a blown head gasket.
Common causes:
Low coolant
Broken water pump
Faulty thermostat
Radiator leaks
Always address overheating immediately. Auto repair shops in Springdale can inspect your entire cooling system and ensure it’s up to the task.
🚙 7. Steering and Suspension Problems
Does your car feel loose on the road? Do you hear knocking sounds when driving over bumps?
Potential suspension problems:
Worn shocks or struts
Broken springs
Misaligned wheels
Power steering fluid leaks
These issues affect not just comfort but your control over the vehicle. Schedule a suspension check with a trusted auto repair Springdale AR shop to keep your ride smooth and safe.
⚙️ 8. Transmission Troubles
Your transmission is one of your car’s most complex (and expensive) components. Any irregularities should be addressed quickly to avoid total failure.
Warning signs:
Hesitation or slipping when shifting gears
Grinding or shaking
Burning smell
Fluid leaks
Don’t wait until your transmission gives out. Springdale repair professionals can perform a transmission flush, rebuild, or replacement depending on the severity.
🔊 9. Strange Noises
A healthy car should hum—not rattle, squeal, or clunk.
Noises to watch for:
Squealing under the hood – Could be a loose serpentine belt
Clunking – Likely suspension or drivetrain issues
Hissing – May indicate a coolant or vacuum leak
When your car talks, listen. Any strange noise should be checked out with a trusted auto repair Springdale AR technician.
🚨 10. Exhaust System Issues
Your exhaust system keeps harmful fumes away and helps your engine run efficiently.
Signs of trouble:
Loud rumbling noise
Decreased fuel efficiency
Strong gas smell
Visible rust or holes in the muffler
Neglecting exhaust problems can impact your health and wallet. A local repair shop can assess and repair your exhaust system quickly.
🌧️ 11. Windshield Wiper Failure
It may seem minor, but worn or malfunctioning wipers are a serious hazard during rain or snow. If your blades streak, skip, or make noise, replace them.
Also check:
Wiper motor
Washer fluid reservoir
Nozzle blockage
A quick fix from a Springdale auto repair center can make your windshield crystal clear again.
🛞 12. Tire Wear or Alignment Issues
Driving with unevenly worn or underinflated tires increases the risk of blowouts.
Watch for:
Vibrations while driving
Vehicle pulling to one side
Uneven tread wear
Regular rotation, alignment, and pressure checks at a Springdale shop can extend your tires’ lifespan and keep you safer on the road.

Turnaround time for diesel repairs can range from a few hours to several days depending on the job. A quick oil change or tire repair service? We’ll usually get you out same day. A complex clutch repair, welding repair, or engine overhaul? That might take a few days—especially if we're dealing with major mechanical issues, cummins x15 fuel pump problems, or structural welding that requires precision.
Here’s a general idea of repair timelines: Preventative maintenance / PM service: 1–2 hours Brake repair or brake line repair: 1 day AC repair and electrical maintenance: 1–2 days Engine repair / diesel engine diagnostics: 2–5 days Truck transmission repair: 3–7 days Welding service / cast iron welding / truck frame repair: 2–4 days
Of course, these are ballpark figures. We use computerized truck diagnostics and a full inspection to give you a solid ETA upfront—because no one likes surprises unless it’s a birthday.
Why DFW Trucks Get Stuck in the Shop Longer
Sometimes, delays aren’t about tools or tech—it’s about parts availability or hidden issues (looking at you, truck clutch repair and electrical system gremlins). Some semi truck parts, like rare truck body parts or Detroit Diesel components, may need to be ordered in. That’s why we’ve built relationships with top diesel shops in Texas, welding shops, and truck accessories dealers to get what we need faster.
We also prioritize truck diagnostic work to avoid missing hidden issues. That way, your truck doesn’t bounce back into the shop two weeks later with a new problem.
Mobile Repairs? Even Faster
If you’re stranded or can’t make it into the shop, we’ll come to you. Our 24/7 mobile truck repair service covers emergency roadside service, mobile brake repair, semi truck road service, and more. This drastically cuts down downtime, especially for truck alignment, fuel injector cleaning, and minor vehicle maintenance tasks.

[ad_1] Bhopal: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the Narendra Modi government has brought transformative reforms to revive India’s ailing cooperative sector, calling the current time a “golden opportunity” for Madhya Pradesh to strengthen cooperatives and empower farmers. Addressing the State Level Cooperative Conference in Bhopal as the Chief Guest, Shah emphasized that the cooperative movement had long stagnated due to outdated laws and lack of central initiative. However, the creation of the Ministry of Cooperation by PM Modi in 2021 marked a historic turning point. “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the cooperative sector is now moving rapidly toward prosperity. The opposition left the sector in ruins, but this is a golden opportunity to revive and rebuild it in Madhya Pradesh,” Shah asserted. He announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Dairy Federation (MPCDF), which aims to increase the participation of cooperative dairy societies in milk production and expand their footprint to every village. Currently, only 2.5% of Madhya Pradesh’s surplus milk reaches cooperative dairies, and just 17% of villages have a milk collection system. The MoU envisions coverage of 83% of villages, enhancing processing capacity and ensuring higher returns for farmers. “Cooperatives are no longer limited to short-term credit. Today, PACS are offering over 20 services—ranging from Jan Aushadhi Kendras to gas distribution and common service centers,” he said. “Computerization of PACS across India has brought transparency and accessibility.” He further highlighted that Madhya Pradesh leads the country in PACS computerization, with services now available in 13 languages. PACS in MP are now connected digitally with District Cooperative Banks and NABARD, and offer government schemes, bill payments, and more—right from the village level. Amit Shah also pointed to the formation of three national-level multi-state cooperatives under the Modi government—National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL), National Cooperative Organic Limited (NCOL), and Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL)—which provide farmers with access to global markets, fair prices, and direct income transfers. He urged the Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Dairy Federation to focus on branding, quality control, and timely payments, stating that both the NDDB and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) are ready to support financially if required. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, State Cooperation Minister Vishwas Sarang, and Cooperation Secretary Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani were present at the event. Shah concluded by saying that the collaborative efforts of the Centre and the MP government would ensure prosperity for farmers, transforming cooperative societies into engines of rural growth.
