A LITTLE SOMETHING
A/N not even exhaustive hours of patrol can stop hawks from paying you a little visit. can be platonic as well!
The city was unusually quiet for this time of night, a stillness settling over the streets as Hawks swooped through the skies, his wings cutting through the cool air with ease. But as smooth as his flight appeared, exhaustion weighed heavily on him.
The Hero Commission had been relentless lately, sending him out on countless patrols, missions, and intelligence-gathering tasks. No matter how much he accomplished, there was always something more to be done. It wasn’t in Hawks’ nature to complain, so he took it all in stride. After all, he was the No. 2 hero—this came with the job.
Still, the fatigue was getting harder to hide. His eyes stung from lack of sleep, his body ached from overexertion, and his feathers, usually vibrant and sharp, drooped slightly from the wear and tear of the day. But no one noticed—at least, no one in the Hero Commission did. He made sure of that. He’d perfected the art of looking fine, of playing the carefree, laid-back hero who could handle anything. But under the surface, he was running on fumes.
As he glided over the city, his sharp eyes caught sight of a familiar market, its soft lights still on despite the late hour. He was supposed to be heading straight back to headquarters after his patrol, but he couldn’t resist.
He hadn’t seen you much that day, both of you caught up in your respective schedules.
He knew how tired you must be from work, and even though he was barely keeping himself upright, he wanted to do something for you—something small, just to see you smile.
With a quick dive, Hawks landed near the entrance of the market, his boots softly hitting the ground. The shopkeeper barely had time to acknowledge him before Hawks was already moving toward the snack aisle, scanning the shelves for your favorite treat. He spotted it almost immediately—a pack of chocolate-covered mochi, something he knew you liked. He grabbed a couple of them, knowing you’d appreciate the gesture.
As he approached the counter to pay, the shopkeeper gave him a curious look. “Long night?”
Hawks offered his usual grin, the one that masked the exhaustion behind his eyes. “Something like that. Just picking up a little something for a friend.”
The shopkeeper smiled knowingly, ringing up the snacks without another word.
With the mochi in hand, Hawks took to the skies once again, his flight slower now, more deliberate as he made his way toward UA. His body was screaming for rest, but his mind was already focused on you.
He wanted to see you, even if just for a moment.
Hawks’ wings folded in behind him as he made his way to your apartment, moving through the familiar halls with practiced ease. He stopped in front of your door, the faintest hint of nerves bubbling up in his chest—a feeling he wasn’t quite used to.
He knocked softly, leaning against the doorframe, the mochi tucked behind his back like a secret.
You opened the door after a moment, your hair slightly messy, dressed in comfortable clothes after what had clearly been a long day.
You blinked up at him, surprised to see him there so late. “Keigo?”
He grinned, though the fatigue in his eyes was harder to hide now that he was standing in front of you. “Hey. Thought I’d stop by.”
Your brow furrowed slightly, your eyes immediately scanning him with concern.
“You look exhausted,” you said, her voice soft, but tinged with worry. “You’ve been on patrol all day, haven’t you?”
Hawks shrugged, playing it off like he always did. “Just another day at the office,” he said, flashing her a smile. “But I brought you something.” He revealed the pack of chocolate-covered mochi from behind his back, holding it out to you with a playful smirk. “Thought you could use a pick-me-up.”
Your eyes softened as you looked at the snack, then back at him. “You’re the one who needs a pick-me-up,” you muttered, though there was a small smile on your lips as you took the mochi from him. “You didn’t have to do this.”
Hawks shrugged again, but there was a warmth in his eyes as he watched you.
“Maybe I wanted to.”
You hesitated for a moment, then stepped aside, gesturing for him to come in. “You should sit down before you collapse.”
He chuckled, but didn’t argue, stepping into your apartment and making himself comfortable on the edge of your couch.
His wings drooped slightly as he sat, the exhaustion catching up to him now that he wasn’t flying or patrolling. He stretched out his arms, letting his muscles relax for what felt like the first time in hours.
You sat next to him, opening the pack of mochi and offering him one. “Here,” you said, your voice soft. “You need this more than I do.”
He accepted it with a grateful smile, popping the treat into his mouth. The sweet, chewy texture was a welcome distraction from the fatigue. For a moment, you sat in comfortable silence, sharing the snacks as the night settled around them.
After a while, you turned to him, your expression more serious. “You should take a break, Keigo. You’re running yourself into the ground.”
He gave a small laugh, though there was a tired edge to it. “You sound like someone I know.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Because it’s true.”
Hawks leaned back, resting his head against the wall, his eyes closing for a moment. “Yeah, maybe. But I’m fine. Really.”
You weren’t convinced, and you knew better than to push him too hard, but you couldn’t help the concern that bubbled up in your chest.
You reached out, your fingers lightly brushing against his arm, a gentle touch that you hoped would offer some comfort.
Hawks opened his eyes at the contact, glancing down at your hand. He smiled softly, though there was something deeper in his gaze—something more vulnerable, more real. “Thanks,” he said quietly, his voice softer now, without the usual bravado.
You nodded, your hand lingering on his arm for a moment longer before you pulled it back. “You don’t always have to be the strong one, you know.”
Hawks chuckled again, though this time it was more genuine. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
For a moment, you just sat there, the quiet of the room wrapping around you like a blanket. Hawks’ wings shifted slightly, the feathers brushing against your side, warm and soft.
You leaned into the touch, your head resting lightly on his shoulder without even thinking about it.
Hawks glanced down at you, a small, contented smile playing on his lips. He didn’t say anything—he didn’t need to. Just having you close was enough.
As the night wore on, the exhaustion finally caught up with him. His eyes grew heavy, his body relaxing more into the couch. You didn’t move, staying by his side, your presence a quiet comfort.
“Hey,” Hawks murmured after a while, his voice barely above a whisper. “Thanks… for letting me crash here.”
You smiled, your eyes half-closed as you leaned against him. “Anytime.”

Chapter 2: Ms. Newbie

Patrol.
The number of times you've been mistaken as a newbie hero was a lot. Considering you have no plans of being a hero.
You're just walking around in your new suit to advertise.
After Izuku had finished classes, he rushed to the lab to test on your suit. When it worked with a resounding success, you only need market. Making the suit would be impossible for Mei with rhe number of micro properties that needs to be perfected and no tools needed so you are needed in making. You both are also lacking in materials with just the materials racking around 70 million yen, thanks to those other equipments you've sold you got the money.
Now, this extremely expensive suit needs to be sold. What better way to get the attention other than to showcase it.
You fly relatively high to see a bigger area, but low enough to catch people's attention. Scouring for trouble, no hero was deployed in the area to scout so it shouldn't be a hard time finding a villain.
Not that you were manifesting or glad, but you managed to find one after an explosion occurred. You were excited to show off your new robot... until you saw the number of people going down one after the other.
Ah right. You were still a 15 year old with no heroic experiences, you had completely forgotten.
It wasn't a huge threat but a threat nonetheless. Maybe would require a help of 2 heroes of low rank or 1 mid ranked hero.
You were scared.
But your fear was overpowered. When you saw a familiar face.
"Holy shit is that the vice of Honkai Industries?!" The smell of investment.
When the villain was running to attack the man, you swoop in and grabbed him.
"Who are you?!" The man was scared. You settle him down to an open area.
"Your next business partner."
You pull out your sword from your side and ignited it.
The villain was a transformation type. His limbs extended and stretched as if it was from a cartoon.
He uses no equipment you can mess with.
You charged forward, swinging your sword in a calculated arc. The man swiftly dodged and weaved, his body contorting and stretching to evade each precise strike. With a fierce grin on his face, he retaliated, launching himself into the air and delivering a barrage of rapid punches, his fists slamming into the robot's metallic exterior. You raise your arms to prevent the attack on your exposed head...
Undeterred, you countered with a sweep of a sword. The man, stretched his limbs, propelling himself out of harm's way just in time. As he landed, a spark of determination flickered in his eyes and a sickening smirk.
"You're pathetically weak for a hero."
You flinched. "ITS BECAUSE IM NOT A HERO I'VE NEVER RECEIVED ANY TRAINING I DONT WANT TO BE A HERO!" You scream in your mind.
He lunged forward, delivering a series of lightning-fast attacks, each blow connecting with precision. You try your best to keep up with his attacks. Upon successfully keeping up with it due to the material used for the robot, you endured the onslaught, your sword swining blindly trying to land a hit on him.
But in a climatic moment the man's fist grew larger, one could compare the size to a giant's. You can't escape that...
As the fist slowly descended. Hawks swiftly intervened, swooping in to save you from possibly dying. With his wings spread wide, Hawks shielded you from the man's attack, effectively redirecting the course of the battle.
"That was close. Help the civilians, I'll handle the rest!" Hawks ordered.
But you were still shaken from the fact you almost died.
"Miss!" He shakes you, snapping you back. You looked at him fearfully. He sighs knowing you are incapacitated for now. "Can you stay somewhere safe hmm?"
With tears pooling, you reluctantly nodded. He gave you a smile and you got away from his hold.
The vice from Honkai Industries had long left the scene, and you checked to see if there were any civilians you come across whilst running.
Getting somewhere you think was safe enough you got off your suit. There were numerous of damages, it didn't seem like so as you were in contact. The material used was totally worth it as it kept you safe. You activate your quirk restoring the suit.
The number of damages it took was quite a lot as you never really dodged any attacks so you sat next to your suit as it repaired itself.
Luckily your sword had no damages.
You curled yourself, tucking your knees in as you softly cry alone. You never wanted to be a hero. What were you thinking.
"I could've died." You sobbed quietly.
Shaking in fear, fighting really wasn't your strong suit. Kendo classes as a kid being the only source of your knowledge.
Your pity party was interrupted when you gelt something tickle you. You raise your head, your snot, tear and sweat covered face, to see the hero who had saved you kneeling in front of you. You bite your lip to prevent your sobs.
"You did great you know..." He pulls you in, rubbing soothing circles on your back. "You held out and kept the civilians safe. And you're safe too. All is well."
You cling on his coat taking deep ragged breaths to calm yourself down.
"Ms. Newbie, you can't let every fight break you down. You're a hero, you have to stand your ground. Are you going to cry like this everytime you fight a villain?"
You composing yourself raised your head once again. He gave you a smile that was infectious.
"Ahh, look at what you did, you made a mess on my coat. SMH."
You laughed, "Did you seriously just say SMH?"
"Maybe..."

Your heart skipped at the suggestion. Holy shit was he really asking you on a date. You looked at him in shock.
Your eyes traced the lines of his face, noting the subtle imperfections that only added to his allure. The rugged edges of his jawline, held a magnetic appeal. And the way his wind-tousled hair framed his face, sparked a growing fascination within. You wondered if this will get you anywhere.
"So? Ms. Newbie, are you free?"
"I-" You couldn't bring yourself to correct him about something that is probably important. You know the moment you do, you'll lose his attention. "I-I'm free next weekend..."
The hero smirked, "So can I get your name and number?" He hands you his phone.
You couldn't give him your name. What if he looks you up?
"W-well I dont know yours. I dont think it's fair for only one of us to know..." You laughed nervously as you input your number.
"Well you, cutie, can call me Hawks." He smiled. "I on the other hand, have nothing to call you."
Your suit dinged indicating that the repair was done. You got up to get on.
"Y-You can just call me uhm... whatever you want." you flushed.
He chuckled, "A woman secrets. Not even a hero name?"
"I'm not known for a reason."
"Robot Samurai."
"What-?"
"I'm trying to think of a hero name. Robo Kenshi? Optimus Prime?"
"Optimus Prime?" You giggled.
"He has a sword." He shrugged. "What about Cyberblade? I like Cyberblade."
You shake your head, "Call me whatever. Its not like I'll use it."
"WOW, That is so rude. I'm using all my amazing naming skills."
"You named yourself Hawks, because you're a bird."
"Robot Samurai wins then?"
"I'll see you next weekend." You smile to yourself and fly away.

Israel records $12.5 billion in defense exports, led by drones, air defense

JERUSALEM — Israel’s defense exports reached a record high of $12.5 billion in 2022, according to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, led by keen global interest in drones and air defense systems.
An MoD report released today also noted continued growth in a new, big market for Israeli tech: Abraham Accords countries in the Gulf that bought approximately $3 billion-worth of defense platforms. This means that since the peace deals were signed in 2020, sales to countries that Israel has new ties with are now almost as high as all of Israel’s $3.6 billion in sales back in 2005.
Overall “Israeli defense exports have doubled in less than a decade and increased by fifty percent in three years,” the Ministry said. Israel has been a leader in drone exports for decades, owing to the fact the country was a pioneer in UAVs in the 1980s and also a leading developer of loitering munitions.

Even with competition from China, Turkey and other drone manufacturers, the Israeli report says around one quarter of the agreements signed in 2022 were for UAVs and drones. Israel’s three large defense companies — Elbit Systems, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries — all play a role in the UAV and counter-UAV market. Elbit makes the large Hermes 900 drone, and IAI sells the Heron line of drones. Rafael is a part owner of Aeronautics with makes the Orbiter line.
“The remarkable data unveiled by the Israeli defense establishment, reaching new heights in defense exports, showcases the State of Israel’s strength and excellent technological capabilities. Through the creativity and innovation of both the Israeli defense establishment and the Ministry of Defense, we not only outpace our adversaries but also sustain our qualitative edge,” said Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant.
Israel has approximately 120 defense companies, including many smaller companies that focus on unique technologies, such as radars, or sights for rifles and C-UAS systems. Israel’s defense sales are led in some cases by government-to-government deals, such as the May deal between Israeli and Dutch ministries of defense for $305 million-worth of Elbit-made PULS Rocket Artillery Systems.
