knitters and/or crocheters, a poll for you! i'm a long-time knitter and very occasional crocheter; my wife is capable of knitting but very much prefers crochet. i feel like many (maybe most?) people have a strong inclination to one craft or the other, and am wondering how true that is.
i ran out of options in the poll, so this assumes that you're more skilled at the craft you prefer. if you're objectively better at knitting but really love crochet, or vice versa, please accept my apologies, and maybe go with 'prefer [whatever], equally skilled'.
for the 'prefer, but can' options, 'can' is meant to encompass basically any level of skill from 'i can do the most basic stitches' to 'i'm genuinely skilled at this, but clearly not as skilled as i am at the other craft'.
i imagine that this will only have like twelve votes, so it may not tell me much, but i'm interested anyway!
I finally got a hold of the yarn I needed so I was able to get his shirt made, the buttons were originally meant to go in the back but I ended up liking how they looked so I’m keeping them in the front. Also went ahead and made some pigtails to keep tied to his head until his hat’s done because I was tired of the buzzcut situation he had going on.
I’ve also been trying to make sewing pattern for a little button up shirt because I found this New Year’s Eve themed fat quarter for 50¢. So far I’m pretty happy with the mockup I did with the unicorn fabric so I might try to dye it instead of throwing it in the scrap pile.
It turns out the accessories for the American Girl doll competitor Walmart carries are perfectly Buggy sized so here he is grocery shopping with his very very tiny family

Since I’m going to Kawaii Kon this year (for the first time in…yeesh, years!) but don’t have time to make a full cosplay, I threw together an Ekubo bag to go with my Ekubo dress:
It is…so fucking rough lol but I had two days taken in between work and packing and taxes and brain fog and back pain and—
Anyway for all that he’s pretty cute so that’s good enough for me 😂
I recently got a new project bag and want to weave a replacement strap for it that's adjustable and also able to be longer than the one I currently have so I can wear it cross body if I want to. I've narrowed it down to two patterns (pictures below the poll) but need help deciding.
Gelt:
Bewind:
Bewind is reversible, so the pattern will show up on the back too, but Gelt is not if that makes a difference. I still think the back of Gelt looks really cool, though, it's just not going to be the same as the front.
It will probably be a few days before I start weaving this, though, since I will be at my family's this weekend and won't have access to my weaving.
Just dropping by to say that I really think that Aemond Targaryen from House of the Dragon would really float your boat me thinks, I'm so obsessed, thank you and goodbye
Found this adorable bakery pattern on etsy a couple months ago and decided I wanted to gift it to my coworker as a farewell gift once I started my trainee job.
I didn't want to start working on it while I was still applying to places though, as that felt like a) very bad priority setting/ time management and b) a jinx. So I started as soon as I'd signed my trainee contract a month ago and have been doing barely anything else ever since. I set the deadline as my last day of work originally, which would've been last Saturday, but I ended up mostly working at another branch shop for the last three weeks anyway, so I'm going to bring it to her either tomorrow or on Wednesday.
It's the first cross stitch pattern I've ever done, as I only started stitching a year and a half ago and have been mostly focused on blackwork during that time. (As a result I wildly underestimated how long a cross stitch pattern this size would take to complete orz)
As if Yvonne has done this before with him - even though this is the very first time - she slowly and carefully moves her hand and fingers in Greyson's hair. From an outside perspective it could resemble someone comforting their dog after its been home alone all day.
(Mod💜note: more RP daily sketches from a thread with @yvonnesrespite , with a bit of angst! I've been trying to get back into the daily 30-minute sketch routine to build back up some long atrophied skills, and these rp doodles have been a great fount of inspo for that! Setting a timer for myself is the hardest part though because oh man do I wanna go back and fix stuff 🥴)
