We made a small game project!! It's a program designed to learn how to play Connect 4, based on the MENACE model. Its algorithm needs some work, so it's a very slow learner, but we're pretty proud of it so far! ^^

You guys have no fucking clue how much we have to correct our character names here, btw. We'll be writing something and we'll think to ourself "oh yeah, the time loop guy, the guy who's in the time loop, we have a whole ass character named loop right" and then The Time Loop Guy's name is Siffrin and Loop is an entire different character that we're not even entirely sure is in the time loop, per se, as much as they're meta-aware and existing on a slightly different angle of reality to most of the people here. Their name's, like, been at least halfway reassigned to Dandelion in our brain. We swear we're gonna, like, call them Bonnie or Isabeau or some shit some loop and then not catch it in time. We've got Character Roulette Syndrome.

Btw all the protests and this whole situation felt extra poignant because December 12 was the anniversary of the 1979 military coup that led to the brutal military dictatorship that lasted until 1987, under which thousands and thousands of people were horrifically injured, tortured, and killed. Korea's in a different place now, all because of the sacrifices the Korean people made to usher in and maintain democracy.

I think (after a lot of thinking) that my main issue with Marcella in Vengeful is the fact we don't really get to watch her struggle?

Marcella is on a rampage the entire time. Her plot for revenge against Marcus wraps up very quickly despite it being a perfectly compelling story on its own.

Partially because of her lack of compassion, we don't see her struggle with her EO power, seeming to come into it and accept it very naturally.

June and Jonathan don't have any conflicts with her. She's very intelligent so all her plans work without a hitch.

This isn't necessarily bad. The issue comes from the fact that she is a main character of Vengeful yet there is nothing besides rage (which after the quickly wrapped up revenge plot against Marcus is unfocused) to make you feel for her.

The issue isn't really having a larger cast or a prominent role but that nearly all her scenes are ultimately forgettable. Other characters who have less time dedicated to them/no POV (June, Rios, Dominic and Stell) manage to be more memorable.

I managed to take a few sets off of one of the people who beat me in bracket next time and I definitely have a lot of notes on the counter-adaptation for next time, so I thiiiink I might have a shot this month if she's there again

ifeel like literally everything i am supposed to do to be a like. well adjusted human being is so so so exhausting? like i dont even mean a job or being "productive" or whatever.. socializing and hobbies often physically and mentally drain me so much and so fast and its really hard to keep up with things like that when having one (1) conversation or trying to do a cross stitch pattern for like half an hour makes me feel like i need at Least 2 weeks to rest and recover

The old school lack of transparency on tumblr is amazing because you assume the people you follow must all be equivalent to you and then you see someone write “I brought my youngest to college today” and someone else write “my mom wouldn’t let me listen to Ariana Grande when I was a kid” and then your head explodes
