My 3ds turned on for the first time in over 5 years TvT

Long story short, my girl stopped working after I changed a cable (that I accidentally broke while changing the joystick) and I gave up. I eventually understood that I might have just close some cables incorrectly and needed to check but didn't have access to the tools I needed anymore.

Today an acquaintances came over to clean my laptop and I asked if I could use his tools to check my girl, and with his help she turned on again!! I nearly cried;;; problem is, I messed up and I think I damaged a cable for the joystick because it was unresponsive. Then I broke a little clamp for that cable and I gave up, I don't think I'm fixing this

It's a shame, I was looking forwards to play my 3ds games (zelda and kirby) again but they absolutely need the joystick to work... I did play some pocket card jokey at least

(man I wish I had done that before the e-shop closed but hey. I don't see myself modding her since I barely play the switch, that would be exaggerating. at least I can still play my ds games just fine!)

I haven't tried yet tomodachi life and nintendog + cats, I miss my... creations?

Impulsively spent an hour making a big splat tune playlist and lemme tell you I forgot how much I just do not care for off the hook songs. Damp sock however? Absolute fucking perfection they take the best part of off the hook (Pearl and Marina's voices) and both let them properly shine and also fixed what I didn't like abt off the hook music (the boring ass instrumentals) by doing what sploon does best and going ham with the piano and guitar

I thought I had a dead copy of pokemon heartgold for the longest time because any time I tried to put it in my ds (specifically 2ds xl if that matters) it would either not read or brick the system until removed and rebooted. I was sure I would never play it again unless I went and payed money to have someone fix it

But just to be safe, today I finally looked up if there was a way to get it working again at home. The advice seemed way too simple to believe (just wipe the cartridge and cart reader port with a cotton swab and alcohol) but like, it was worth a shot

I really can't overstate how big a role that thing played in the early days of my transition lmao. It was my first like personal digital camera.
