So the pitch bible for a dwd reboot tied into dr17 was leaked recently…

To me, it feels too … convenient.

I know this might be going into theorist territory, but hear me out.

I think it’s still possible for a dwd reboot to happen, just not this one. I keep seeing people say that the dwd reboot isn’t happening at all, but I haven’t seen any official (or reliable)article or statement anywhere saying that this project has been cancelled.

This pitch bible feels a bit fanboy-ish. It feels like it was hastily edited and was checked over throughly. There’s certain parts of the Bible that feel redundant or places where it just repeats what it said in the same section.

I don’t know how stuff like this leaked, but with there being whispers of a dwd reboot, it almost feels like this was leaked intentionally. Like it’s being used to stir up attention in a fandom.

I personally don’t believe that this was a pitch bible created and rejected fairly recently due to the designs of Gosalyn and Drake. I believe this was probably pitched when season 2 of dt17 was starting production due to Drake’s different civilian outfit and gosalyn looking different from her final design. Their relationship was also one of father and daughter where dt17 made it clear that Drake didn’t adopt gosalyn in the end. I believe the possible rejection of this pitch could have inspired the crew to include Drake and gosalyn into dt17. To incorporate a story they wanted to tell but couldn’t with the rejection.

I just wanted to get my thoughts down about the leak and I find it interesting how people who grew up with dwd would want to interpret this story. I believe that this project had potential, but who knows, maybe we’ll see a variation of this project in the future, maybe we won’t.
