Kim Joon, a sound collector, chose unfrequented places and spots where he could immerse himself in solitude, usually before sunrise or before sunset, when the shape of the forest could be seen in its wholeness. There he noticed how the aspects of time and space left by nature and humans intersected and collided with one another, and found traces of life’s intersections where the birth and extinction of living things—wild or cultivated—occurred; and he collected dead leaves, birds, rocks, people, airplanes, grass insects and water in the forms of sounds and images (rubbings). The sounds, collected over a few days, were edited into a sound-time format with a flow, for example, “sounds of feet walking on dead leaves in the forest—sound of rocks rolling—sound of a baby crying—sound of an airplane in the sky—grass insect sounds—sounds of water flowing,” as if he were walking through the day from morning to evening.
Datz Museum of Art presents FRAME, a new exhibition space located in the Datz wild garden as a space for creativity that aims to capture artistic possibilities within the boundaries of a “frame”—a line between the inside and outside. Like the first breath of a newborn, Life Signature is curated as the first exhibition for the new space. An installation by artist Joon Kim, which collects the sounds of the museum’s surrounding forest, and photographic works by artist Seongyeon Jo, which captures the lights of the surrounding wild garden, is invited inside and reconstructed within the exhibition space of FRAME. Memories of life in nature are rediscovered and reflected upon in a new and unfamiliar setting through the eyes of the viewers. Inside the “frame” and closed off from the outside, the subjects selected by each artist reflect on strangeness and familiarity, opening and closure of boundaries, and breaths of life in between. Datz Museum of Art cordially invites you to FRAME, a place that seeks to find art within nature.

10 Affordable Spring Vacation Destinations Across America
Have you spent the first days of spring waiting for pricey flights to the Caribbean to drop? Whether your heart’s set on a dreamy beach vacay or an exciting urban getaway, you don’t have to break the bank—or leave the country—to enjoy an amazing spring vacation.
Based on the median weekly rate for a two bedroom rental on FlipKey, we’re highlighting some of the most affordable spring vacation destinations in America and the must-dos in each city. From the shores of Cape Cod to the desert landscape of Palm Springs, here are some of the best places to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Boise, Idaho: $594/week
With the majestic Rocky Mountains looming beyond the city limits and over 190 miles of trails to explore, Boise packs lots of punch for the nature-loving traveler. Climb the hill at Camel’s Back Park for great views of Southern Boise or take it easy on a stroll through the Idaho Botanical Garden. Had your fill of the outdoors? Boise’s varied museums and plentiful attractions will captivate all interests. However you choose to spend your time, Spring is the perfect season to enjoy all the city has to offer—before the dry summer heat sets in!

With its fiery desert landscape, mouthwatering New Mexican cuisine, and unique multicultural heritage, this city is a magical escape for travelers of all ages. The city’s streets are lined with historic adobe homes and brick paths, while its clear, blue skies are dotted with colorful hot air balloons. Plentiful sunshine and mild temperatures add to this city’s appeal, making it one of the best affordable spring vacation spots on our list.
