It's funny how they made several different illustrations for Blade's scenes in the F&R books
Like the scene where Dusty got swept by the current? Yeah there's at least two different illustrations of it, one with Blade being pissed af and the other is him staring at Dusty worriedly
And you'd need to buy at least 5 different books to get all of the pics (not counting the LeapFrog book bcs its illustrations are 100% different from the rest)
Was it a way to get Blade simps to buy all of the books? Maybe
So I found this guy in a local shop the other day and decided to buy him on a whim
He's definitely a knockoff transformer of sorts. But despite the fact that he feels pretty cheap, he's pretty decent in terms of quality for what I paid ($10 for me, or roughly $6 in USD)
The articulation is surprisingly diverse, the wheels have rubber tires, and the truck cab is even made of diecast metal!
Due to the lack of any proper name as far as I could tell, I've decided to nickname him Din :]
(derived from "Hero dinba" written on the left side of the truck hood)
Bonus pics:
I've also decided to include some pictures of the packaging
By the looks of it, this guy's part of a combiner team
(Presumably the "Rakers" if we're still counting the words on his paint job)
A few days ago I found out that here where I live (Dej, Romania) there is a toy store where they regularly sell Cars diecasts and I didn't know about that 🤯🤯🤯
This means that I don't necessarily need to go to bigger cities 60km from here to do some diecast hunting 🥳🥳🥳
There are a few other smaller places where they sell them, but it's usually just mini racers and they don't restock regularly, so I can't rely on those 😒
Anyway, here are the diecasts I bought there and my updated collection (sorry for the bad pic quality, but my phone camera is almost broken 😅)
Since I don't physically own anything this is the closest I have. I try to look for products that has just Finn. As usual these pics are not mine and this is purely for fun.
First are the diecast. I know he has a lot of regular versions but there's also some with his weapon mode. I still think it's a silly concept to give a vehicle hi-tech gadgets out of Transformers when the original & 3rd movies were still grounded in reality.
Disney Store and good ol' classic diecast. The piece of road on the disney store version is a stand.
Next are his scuba gear and RC toys. I would've had a lot of fun with these.
Talking Finn diecast and Quick Changers. I don't have too much to say other than that Disney was busy milking every drop out of the movie.
Appmates & Fisher-Price. Very skrunkly. Finn looks like one of those mini pumpkins you find around Halloween time at the grocery story XD
Finally got my hands on the Studio Series Rise of the Beasts Bumblebee. Most of what I like is the robot mode...which is why I didn’t take a pic of it in vehicle mode. The head looks great, the legs are nice and I like the bigger feet too. I do wish the blade on the arm blade was painted silver but one could do that themselves. I also wish there was another of the gun molded for the other hand for that scene in the movie/trailer when he jumps out of Stratosphere. I am also not a fan of the bright yellow they used and wish they would have went for the same gold/yellow that was used on the Studio Series Gamer Edition deluxe class Bumblebee.
For those wanting to know, in the third picture I posed my Studio Series Bumblebee next to the Jada Toys diecast 1:32 scale Rise of the Beasts Bumblebee because that one is just such a better representation of Bee’s vehicle mode in the film.
The Studio Series one in vehicle mode is just meh. There are sections where there are gaps between the roof of the car and the windows and I can’t seem to fix it so I guess it’s just like that. Also, the Studio Series has the stripes on the roof of the car which isn’t accurate to the car in the movie. They also don’t paint the roll cage bits that are below the doors and they don’t have the majority of the front bumper below the cage bits as black. To top it all off, the arms sit way too far below the car and I really don’t like that. I wish the arms could fold up under the car like some of the other Studio Series movie Bee’s do. The Studio Series vehicle is also about the same size as that Jada Toys 1:32 scale diecast ROTB Bumblebee used in the third pic.
The last thing I want to say is the transformation. I don’t know if this is just my copy but, for one, the hook tabs on the legs fought me so much. They wouldn’t go together easily and while fighting those, the back wheels unclipped on me. Not a big deal since they easily clip back on but it is annoying. Also, the tabs that connect the chest were so tight that when going from robot to vehicle, while trying to untab the chest, the mushroom peg that keeps the waist attached to the upper body would disconnect. Again, not a big deal as it just goes back on but it was very annoying.
Overall, Studio Series ROTB deluxe class Bumblebee shines the most in robot mode. The vehicle mode suffers the most and the transformation, for me, fought me several times and just was not all that fun. I’m gonna keep Bee in robot mode myself anyway. I may eventually get one of the Studio Series Bee’s based on his Revenge of the Fallen or 2007 movie Concept Camaro looks just for compare.
Hajime Tanaka in Naomi Iwata's (the guy who made Midnight Horror School and Gregory Horror Show) artstyle
Shun Imai in Moral Orel artstyle
Shiho Ichimura in South Park's artstyle
I'M SORRY THAT I MESSED UP IMAI'S ORANGE STRIPE!! But, it was fun animating the Oddloop dance with my two favs!
Yes, it's based on SpongeBob
Ooo! Toy Car reveal! And Tanaka? Yes please!!! Yes, I collect Hot Wheels, Tomicas, Matchbox, and Majorette cars. In the pic, that's a Majorette Toyota Altis Taxi! Aaaaa I know there's a plain Toyota Corona (Odokawa's taxi) diecast from Tomica but I'm saving up some blue bills for a tablet!
Swag
(okay I did Friday Night Funkin' Yano out of irony)
I saw you wanted som sargemore asks and I don't know if this is a good one (I think it's mainly for fillmore.. and it might be a stupid question sorry..)
but we're do they get their clothes and accessories from? especially fillmore? I really love it!
also the picture of fillmore wearing that t-shirt that says 'route 66 or rust' I'm going to make that in school.
love your content byee <3 ☀️🌍💐
hey!!
i’d imagine that fillmore would be really into thrifting and secondhand shops. those were extremely popular and extremely common in the more “hip” districts of san francisco in the late-60s (and, fun fact— many military surplus stores doubled as thrift stores!). gigs like the “free store” (a sort of moneyless trading post) in haight-ashbury became pretty trendy as the counterculture took off.
as for that t-shirt in the post you’re talking about, that’s actually based off of a real diecast! here’s a pic for you to reference when you’re making your own :)
