Day 4

Everyone has their own rivals. Some have one, some have many.

Chloe is one of many, and has many. She's known for her looks, for her words, for her actions.

Some might say she's Jake's rival, or even Jeremy's.

Chloe claims her rival is Madeline.

Jake isn't aware, but he's also considered many people's rivals. He's best at all he does, he's good-looking, he's got money, status. A lot of eyes wish illness on him. Many believe he's got no rival. But everyone's got at least one.

And Jeremy? Jeremy Heere? He's not much of a rival to anyone. Well.. maybe one person. He's weak. He's soft. He's unknown by most of the school, and those who know him forget him. At least, that's what he says. He also says the world is his rival. Constantly against him, putting him down. But that's not true. The world includes Michael.

Jeremy's real rival, much like Jake's, is actually himself. But the difference is that Jeremy knows that. He hates himself, his biggest rival.

Jake doesn't know why he doesn't like himself, he doesn't know you're supposed to hate your rival, he doesn't know he is his own.

But he likes Jeremy's. In fact, he likes Jeremy's rival so much he's ridding of him.

And, unknowingly, Jeremy's ridding of Jake's too.

Maybe Jeremy is Chloe's rival, being able to do something she couldn't. After all, he stayed.

Deere Week Day 6 — Swap

“Heere is a nice last name.”

“Um, yeah?” Jeremy laughed a bit and looked up from his Nintendo DS to look at Jake. “But what about it?”

“I just think it would be nice for you to swap out that last name for a better one.”

Jeremy paused what he was doing and narrowed his eyes at Jake. “I already know that you’re trying to get at and that line will not work on me.”

Jake stuck out his tongue at Jeremy. “You never let me have fun.”

“… okay, fine, say it.” Jeremy giggled a bit and set his DS down.

“It would be incredible if you would swap out your last name for mine!”
