with what we know from episode 6 (the documentary) and then the surrealism of the finale in episode 7, how did you like the ending of SWARM?

ahh, i am sort of torn? i really liked episode 6 and this meta approach to true crime where it's kind of parodic but also saying smth about the system, and i LOVED loretta lol i would watch several seasons of her solving crimes and being hilarious. but episode 7, while really interesting, felt like a weird disconnect to me, idk why. i guess i just didn't buy dre's relationship to rashida? maybe we're not supposed to buy it. i like dre's chameleonic transformation but i was sort of cold about the whole premise. the ending tho was great and it was the only possible way to go with it. dominique fishbank is a revelation and i hope everyone watching this took note, because she was just INCREDIBLE, to juggle so many facets of this one character??? astounding.

that being said, the show as a whole left me with a feeling of incompleteness. i really liked it, but i felt smth was missing. i guess the incompleteness is part of it because while we spend so much time with dre, she's still sort of a fascinating cipher, very human but also posthuman, if that makes sense. i guess i wanted to know more about her relationship with her sister, and maybe show dre exploring herself and her sexuality in different ways.

but swarm was a breath of fresh air and i loved the wackiness and horror and weird joy of this show. hope to see more of dominique in the future!
