It's Wildcard Week and that means we're playing our Cottager-picked game! The Wandering Village, a post-apoc city builder!

Mahjong Night will be in Riichi City this week. Anyone wanting to participate in friendlies can grab a free account on Steam or mobile!

The Wandering Village is a really unique concept for a city builder - the entire settlement grows on the back of a large wandering creature. It has a particularly lovely but haunting environment that I'm excited to explore!

HARVESTELLA saw us entering summer and finishing up much of the main story surrounding Shatolla! We'll be working on some heart events, doing some cooking, and maybe heading off to the wintery region of Argene!

Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom is the sequel to my favorite farming sim and I am so excited! Our first taste of the game was so incredible that I absolutely cannot wait to dig into this one more! We'll need to win over the queen though!

Doraemon SoS : Friends of the Great Kingdom [COOKING] #1

I'm going to list some cooking recipes I own here. But idk, whatever you cook, it won't be noted on the recipe in game tho...have to buy, I guess? But idk...I forgor. But that aside, this is the list I own. Gonna add from time to time.

You can get a kitchen after the first house upgrade. After that, go buy the utensils in the restaurant. Then you can cook~.

Apple Pie [OVEN] : Apple + Flour + Honey.

Butter Butter [WHISK] : Milk

Pudding [WHISK] : Milk + Egg

Baked Yam [OVEN] : Yam

Puffy Egg Soup [FRYING PAN] : Horsetail + Egg + Royal Fern

Roasted Chery Salmon [OVEN] : Chery Salmon + Shimeji

Pasta [STEW SET] : Flour + Oil

Ketchup [STEW SET] : Tomato + Onion

Chery Pie [FRYING PAN] : Chery + Flour + Butter

Lemon Tart [OVEN] : Lemon + Flour

Chocolate Recipe [FRYING PAN] : Chocolate Bean

Strawberry Milk [WHISK] : Strawberry + Milk

Sweet & Sour Carp [STEW SET] : Carp + Bamboo Shoot + Ginger + Honey

Grilled Conger Eel [FRYING PAN] : Conger Eel + Oil

Grilled Clam [OVEN] : Clam

Apple from Apple tree, I think you can grow one by buying the sapling. Autumn tree sapling.

Cherry is from Cherry tree, it is a Spring sapling.

Strawberry, Turnip, Cucumber, Pea are Spring plants.

Lemon and Chocolate are from Summer sapling.

Tomato, Onion, Pumpkin, Melon, Watermelon, Bellpepper/paprika (?), Pineaple, Corn, are Summer plants.

Flour, can be bought from store, or mill it your own once you got the device from Prince Lumis.

Oil, Yogurt, spices, red beans etc can be bought from the store/restaurant. I think mayo also available there in summer.

Honey got it from the honey bee after you build the...the farm. I forgot. gonna edit once i remember HAHAHHA.

Milk and Egg, got it after you buy Chiken and Cow, obviously.

Horsetail, Bamboo Shoot, Mugwort, Shitake, and Royal Fern are Spring forageable vegies.

Chery Salmon, I got them on Spring. Fishing them around the river area.

Ginger can be found in summer.

Shimenji (or is it Shimeji) is Autumn mushroom, forageable in the mountain.

PS: GINGER AND MUGWORT ARE RARE THINGS. YOUR RNG LUCK IS NEEDED TO GET THEM.

(I still know about 2 of them since I am still in summer 1st year. I shall update more in the future.)

While some elements such as the lack of a romantic goal may be a turn off for some players, Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom is an absolute charmer much like the first title. Those who enjoyed the first may find this to be more of the same, but at the end of the day, that’s what fans of farming sims often want.

I’m currently enjoying the newly released Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom on Switch!

So many quality of life improvements from the first game. Quite impressive.

One of the cool new features is that the game has a decorating mode in which time stops and you can rearrange your farm and furniture in your house to your heart’s content. (a bit like in animal crossing in your house and in Trio of Towns for your farm and outside furniture 😃.

It’s a really beautiful game… and I know it’s risky to do fan art when the game is so satisfying to look at, but Doraemon and the characters are so adorable I couldn’t resist ☺️. What I love most in the game so far is the fact that Noby (the main character) shares a house with all of his friends! And they eat together, and you can also take your friends bug hunting, fishing, mining!

I’m excited to see what each new season will bring. Can’t wait to play more. I might share some more tips and tricks on here, or elsewhere since there’s not much info online just yet. The board on gamefaqs was still completely empty this morning. I really hope all farming sims fans will give this one a go. It’s much less grindy than the first game. Also, the story is great! The cut scenes are great too. And you can skip them if you don’t want to see the story…

Mail Time is launching this week and I'm so excited to try out the full game!

Mahjong Night will be in Mahjong Soul this week assuming we don't run into maintenance. Anyone wanting to participate in friendlies can grab a free account on their browser of choice or mobile!

Mail Time is a sweet indie platformer where you play as a brand new Mail Scout helping to deliver mail to all sorts of forest friends. The demo was tons of fun to play and I can't wait to see how the full game goes~

HARVESTELLA had us finally entering Argene...only to find out it's a creepy theocratic city that I wanted to leave immediately! We're trying to riddle out a way to get to the Winter Seaslight...hopefully without having to join the cult.

Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom is so beautiful and I love every second we get to play it! We paid to upgrade our house which should be done in a few days and are trying to riddle out how we want our orchard work! Plus we've started the storylines for all the major townsfolk so we'll have to see if we can advance any of those further.

Didn't think I'd be tearing up at how cute a game is but here we are with Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom

doraemon story of season is the strangest case ive ever seen

never have i seen a game be so close to being masterpiece, but have one simple problem the throws a wrench into the entire system

everything in the game is built around a slow, leisurely pace. but then the daily clock moves so fast that you have to sprint around trying to barely fit in the day's obligations. and if you invest in a full field of crops? say goodbye to the rest of the game for a season

it's so strange, just a simple tweak to the clock and the entire game would be one of the most beautiful experiences ever created. i dont even think the actual energy system tied to how many actions in a day you can do needs tweaking. you just need more room to use that energy at your own pace

really, it still is an incredibly beautiful experience, but you feel forced to rush through it once your farm grows beyond a simple garden. that's actually the opposite of most games! how often do you say "waitwait let me enjoy the game!" instead of "how quickly can i get through the mindless fluff to a nugget of actual engagement?"

still, it's a great game even with the fast clock and probably the best game in the series (at least at the time of release, I don't know what's come out since then other than remakes and a doraemon sequel)

but the clock is just so strange. I think it was ported directly out of Harvest Moon early on and they never went back and adjusted it once the rest of the game's design had taken form. because it makes sense for a typical Harvest moon game where running around doing activities is the core of the game, but doraemon story of seasons is much more about leisure, immersion, and "backyard exploration" and clashes with the "several minutes a second" clock

yes I want to spend the dawn feeding the animals and tending to my crops. but then i want to explore the island and see what i encounter, sit down for a late morning brunch, fish in the shade through the high midday sun, run errands in the town in the afternoon, hang out with friends and explore caves in the evening, and maybe fit a nap somewhere in the day

the strangest part is that doraemon story of seasons has the mechanics for and encourages that style of play, but then it comes into conflict with the accelerated clock. again, i think it's a harvest moon remnant from the start of development that just never got reevaluated in context of the doraemon entry's new dynamics

i do think it's a little odd that it didnt come up in playtesting, as the game clearly was playtested beyond just checking that it wasnt broken, a rarity these days

anyways.... still a full recommendation to any harvest moon fan from me, definitely a return to the glory days and beyond, rising above the masses as a gem in the oversaturated post-Stardew Valley genre. doraemon story of seasons didnt have to be anything but a generic reskin selling on novelty, but instead it's a true landmark of the series that takes mechanics from every title prior and weaves them into a single game, while simultaneously bringing all-new dynamics into play. it offers unprecedented freedom and scope for a Harvest Moon title while deepening the simple, everyday interactions that the series is known for. not to mention introducing the loveliest watercolor-graphics rendering in a game to date. grandma valkyria chronicles is crying tears of joy

im sure Friends of the Great Kingdom will carry on the torch, but apprehensive at the fact that the clock is probably the same, as it's the same engine

i just wish it would slow down! mechanics for speeding up time are already in the game! if someone wants to speed through days they can! but give the rest of us time to do our own thing. as things stand, speeding through the game is the only way of playing
