sorry i just. i just realized that deathsaurus has not one, but two potential combiners in his crew.

(liokaiser/the breastforce on top, dinoking/the dinoforce on bottom. )

he has liokaiser and dinoking. like he just has them on his team. and not only that, but there is the potential of both teams being able to double their numbers by splitting themselves as well. the breastforce could be headmasters with beastformer partners by idw lore, and the dinoforce are pretenders and can act independently of their dinosaur shells. (though given the instability of the pretender shells in idw, take the dinoforce having their shells in this continuity with a bit of salt)

neither combiner is used during the DOTL fight, but we know at least liokaiser is canon to idw- we see him later on in lost light. we don't see the dinoforce again in idw, but the possibility of having both combiner teams on the field during DOTL,,,

that means it's the rodisquad (minus megatron) going up against the djd, overlord, deathsaurus, deathsaurus' 200+ crew, and (potentially, if dinoking is real in idw) TWO COMBINERS.

oh, and greatsix- who might be a six changer.

im ngl if im one of the lost light crew having to go up against that mess and megatron decides to just opt out of fighting then he better hope i die in the battle 💀. bc if i live im going after his ass next

Transformers Legacy United Dinoking Premium Box Set

So I actually really like the Legacy Evolution Volcanicus set. I know a lot of people are hit or miss on it, but I love how many small little tricks and bits on engineering it utilizes to make a Core Class Combiner really work. So I was pretty excited to get a second version with a bunch of improvements. And I do like these guys. I think there are merits to both, so I'd be interested in them doing these weapons again in the traditional Dinobot colors. (You think if I beg hard enough, they'll also do a Slash or Scorn that turns into a giant weapon for Volcanicus?)

The Good: All the dinosaur modes are pretty good. It's a bit of an odd combination, with the dinosaur and robot modes evoking the Dinobots, but the combined mode evoking Dinoking, yet you don't really question it. Said robot modes do have a decent bit of posability, with wide feet and deep knees that allow for very dynamic poses, even if not all of them have elbows.

Comparing the two, I really like how Dinoking utilizes some of the odd ports for storing the new weapons.

Dinoking has more posability than Volcanicus because of the wrists and ankle tilts, but both of them are surprisingly posable for what they are, especially if you mess with the transformation joints. The combining axe is also a great touch.

The Bad: Grimlock/Goryu is probably the weakest link, being very square in all modes, and having that weird neck thing. The kneecap is also tighter than the knee joint, so it ends up not moving when you bend the knee.

Also, while the new parts for Dinoking are cool, they aren't as solid as I would have liked. The feet pop off on occasion, some of the tolerances are weaker than with Volcanicus, etc.

And the paint aps could be better. On Volcanicus they're used on the most important details on the robot and dino modes, and some of that carries over to the Combiner. With Dinoking, it prioritizes the combined mode, so the robots in particular feel somewhat bare, especially next to their counterparts with their stronger chests.

Overall, both these sets are fun. I like the colors on the Dinobots more, but it's hard to argue that Dinoking doesn't have the better set of accessories and is easier to build since it's a box set. If you're on the fence, maybe buy Snarl, Swoop, or Scarr first, check them out, then decide if you want all 6 later.

Goryu: he has picked out a wonderful name… Icepick. His baby can be a persistent and powerful weapon, and is totally destined for leadership.. Like himself!

Kakuryu: Slog may sound like a weird name, but do you know the meaning? It means hard work!! Much like Goryu, Kakuryu believes his baby is destined for great success!

Gairyu: he rubbed his two braincells together and came up with Bristleback. He really didn’t want to set his baby up with a name that may not be true in the future *looks at Goryu and Kakuryu* but you know what is for certain? His baby having his alt mode.

Doryu: the first thing his baby did after it hatched was scowl toward Hellbat, and Doryu thought that was so cute, so he named his babe Scowl. Don’t think too much about it!!

Yokuryu: unlike how he usually works, Yokuryu thought long and hard about his baby’s name. he sat with his egg and pondered for hours at times, thinking so carefully about the future and how his baby would be treated.. it was after a conversation with Deathsaurus actually where Yokuryu would come up with his name… Wildfly.

Rairyu: from face value Birdbrain seems like a demeaning and disrespectful name, but really it’s his straight-forward way of saying he wants his baby to be very smart. birds are smart, remember? name your baby for what you want not what you have (this name would be so weird for the earthspark people so some nickname the baby as “Birdy” instead)

Who doesn't love dinos? Liars and mountebanks, that's who. So it's a whole set of dino-formers for this month's @tfwiki Patreon-backed pic set! Let's kick things off with the goodest of dinobois, the lovable JAWBREAKER, in his Deluxe EarthSpark form.

Speaking of adorable, how about TRYPTICON in "MyClone" form? This line of soft-plastic modular super-deformed mini-figs from 2002 Takara included not just TFs, but various other Takara lines, Tsuburaya characters (like Ultraman) and adorable animals.

We're keeping the cute train rolling with a fave of mine, ROARISTA from BotBots. Yes, this is a coffee machine and carafe that turns into a t-rex-bot with a power cord tail. How can you not love it. Wish she'd been in the cartoon.

Okay you knew this was coming. It's Legacy DINOKING, finally fulfilling the role the Legacy Core Dinobot molds were blatantly meant to be all along. You can get a much more natural axe-handling pose by putting the scythe fully trough the fist.

The two standouts of Dinoforce, team leader GORYU and team schmuck KAKURYU. This set come with a ton of all new parts; not just new heads but extra accessories for more anime flavor. Kakuryu got his axe, but no shrimpy revolver, dang.

RIARYU lacks his anime melee weapon, but gains a pair of massive missile pods that emulate the original's, and form footplates for Dinoking. GAIRYU has a whole new larger dino-tail/cannon that makes for a bulkier Dinoking forearm.

DORYU gets a scythe... which he didn't in the anime. That went to YOKURYU, but his new part is a huge "cannon"/blatant chunk of Dinoking forearm. You can swap them around if you like, I can't stop you. I'm not your dad (as far as you know).

"Whycomes no classic Dinobot characters?" you ask. Okay, here's GRIMLOCK... the 2015 Robots in Disguise Grimlock, in Kre-O Kreon form. This "Armor Up" set was a Dollar General exclusive(!), and was supposed to come in three decos... but wave 2 of this series never happened.

No, he's not a dino-bot, but he did accidentally merge with Jawbreaker that one time, and I like this toy a lot so here's EarthSpark Deluxe AFTERMATH as a bonus as I was feelin' punchy. Man I love this design.

Have a rtte character named Nels Doryu who I haven't posted much about (cause he's technically reality shifted me and I feel a little shy about him) but he's just. Fucking unhinged to be honest.

Like I have it all planned out that he's kind of a neutral party, but also not really. He understands Viggo has a business to run and will even help out the hunter's with supplies to maintain a sort of truce, but he'll also help out the riders to a certain extent. His agreement with Viggo is basically "don't touch my dragons and I won't kill you and I'll even get you some supplies every now and then."

He's wild and has little to no sense of morality. He'll kill a person for any reason without hesitation. He'll let the pack be dragons and completely tear an enemy apart. He won't hold them back like Hiccup does. If they jump to defend him from an opponent and the way they go about that is ripping the persons head from their shoulders, he'll stand by and watch it happen without even flinching.

His whole lore is that he was separated from his tribe at a young age and found by a pack of wild night fury's (because yes I'm cringe and I want more night fury's in the httyd world get over it), the queen of which, who had been separated from her own hatchling recently, sort of took him in to deal with her own grief. Since then he's fully become a part of the pack.

Also yes this is also a 'most people live' au. Those 'most people' being Ryker, Viggo, and Krogan because god damn it I WANT MY BOYS. I WANT THEM TO THRIVE AND BE HAPPY. I WANT VIGGO TO BE TAKEN ON A BAREBACK DRAGON RIDE AND RYKER AND VIGGO TO FIX THEIR FRACTURING RELATIONSHIP AND KROGAN TO ESCAPE DRAGO. LET ME SEE THEM HAPPY.
