Transformers Legacy United Dinoking Premium Box Set

So I actually really like the Legacy Evolution Volcanicus set. I know a lot of people are hit or miss on it, but I love how many small little tricks and bits on engineering it utilizes to make a Core Class Combiner really work. So I was pretty excited to get a second version with a bunch of improvements. And I do like these guys. I think there are merits to both, so I'd be interested in them doing these weapons again in the traditional Dinobot colors. (You think if I beg hard enough, they'll also do a Slash or Scorn that turns into a giant weapon for Volcanicus?)

The Good: All the dinosaur modes are pretty good. It's a bit of an odd combination, with the dinosaur and robot modes evoking the Dinobots, but the combined mode evoking Dinoking, yet you don't really question it. Said robot modes do have a decent bit of posability, with wide feet and deep knees that allow for very dynamic poses, even if not all of them have elbows.

Comparing the two, I really like how Dinoking utilizes some of the odd ports for storing the new weapons.

Dinoking has more posability than Volcanicus because of the wrists and ankle tilts, but both of them are surprisingly posable for what they are, especially if you mess with the transformation joints. The combining axe is also a great touch.

The Bad: Grimlock/Goryu is probably the weakest link, being very square in all modes, and having that weird neck thing. The kneecap is also tighter than the knee joint, so it ends up not moving when you bend the knee.

Also, while the new parts for Dinoking are cool, they aren't as solid as I would have liked. The feet pop off on occasion, some of the tolerances are weaker than with Volcanicus, etc.

And the paint aps could be better. On Volcanicus they're used on the most important details on the robot and dino modes, and some of that carries over to the Combiner. With Dinoking, it prioritizes the combined mode, so the robots in particular feel somewhat bare, especially next to their counterparts with their stronger chests.

Overall, both these sets are fun. I like the colors on the Dinobots more, but it's hard to argue that Dinoking doesn't have the better set of accessories and is easier to build since it's a box set. If you're on the fence, maybe buy Snarl, Swoop, or Scarr first, check them out, then decide if you want all 6 later.

"We have Energon." Able Abraham stated, and turned to Japheth.

"I was starting to wonder if we had the right planet." Japheth stated.

"A bit of Energon?" June asked.

"Energon isn't natural." Arcee stated, "At least off of Cybertron."

"Then why was so much of it on Earth?" June asked, "Wait, Unicron?"

"A good guess." Arcelia stated, and June gave her a curious look, "Unicron creates Dark Energon, which, not claiming I understand the mystical aspects of it, but Energon and Dark Energon destroy each other."

"Then why was?.." June said, and trailed off.

"The simple answer is The War." Arcee stated, "Though, Alpha Trion seems to know more than anyone else."

"That was his gift." Sirenia said, and everyone turned to look at her. She nervously and shyly looked everywhere but at the others.

"That's true." Japheth stated, "All of the Primes were given a gift."

"Wait?" June asked, "Wait-wait, Alpha Trion was a Prime?! Then why didn't he?!.. I mean?!.."

"He did what only he could do." Sirenia continued, "He setup the fall and eventual surrender of the second Megatronus."

"Alright, I've heard that name before?" June asked.

"Oh!" Sirenia exclaimed, "He was one of the Primes. He betrayed the others, and had his name stricken, afterwards known as The Fallen."

"It's actually quite romantic." Arcelia stated, and June gave her a confused look. "The one he killed was Solus Prime." she said, and June could not comprehend what she was saying, "The very one we worship. What we know, that most do not, is that she forgave him. Her dying breath was to tell Megatronus that she loved him."

"Very... romantic..." a disbelieving June uttered.

"When we have time, we'll have to tell you the full story." Arcelia eagerly said to her.

"We?" Dust Up asked.

"Anyone who finds it as romantic as I do." Arcelia said, and the twins raised their hands. Sirenia stepped up beside her.

"In the meantime..." Japheth said, and paused as everyone turned to look at him, "We'll set up the Skyfall for landing. Victoria will wait on standby."

"Can we ominously float in space?" Jumpsteam asked, and Japheth looked at her for a moment.

"Yes?" he asked.

"Sweet." Jumpstream stated.

Arcee walked up next to Japheth. "I'm in, obviously, but who else is coming?"

"Uh?" Japheth rhetorically asked, "A medic? A scout? An archivist? And a personal attendant."

Arcee glowered at him, "I don't know why I asked."

"We should also bring Stormwright." Japheth stated.

The violet hues turned into colossal mushrooms as they approached. Or at least what looked like it. As the land grew closer it became clear just how big the mushrooms were. Japheth himself was dwarfed by them. As they descended even further, the Skyfall itself was dwarfed by them. It was then that Japheth immediately pulled back up. The Skyfall rose up passed the colossal canopy.

"Change your mind?" Arcee asked.

"Big mushrooms could support big animals." he stated.

"How big?" Arcee asked.

"Exactly." Japheth replied. When the Skyfall had lifted far enough into the air for him to feel safe, "Ciel?" he asked.

"Master?" she asked.

"Contact Gella." he said.

"I can do that." Arcee interjected.

"Really?" Japheth asked her, and she gave him a lost and hurt look in reply, "I mean, do you even know where she is?"

"She's on the?.." Arcee asked, "Scrap. Alright, where is she?"

"Arcelia?" Japheth asked.

"The Jackhammer seems the most likely choice." Arcelia neutrally replied.

"And why's that?" Arcee asked.

"Both Wheeljack and Gella are... direct... without being overly friendly."

They all looked forward as a great shadow passed over them. "REPORT!" Japheth exclaimed.

Stormwright made to say something, but only managed a basic noise. Everyone looked at her, Japheth out of the corner of his eyes, as he was controlling the ship.

"Save us the suspense." Arcee sardonically stated.

"I've never seen one in person." Stormwright stated, clearly holding back her panic.

Arcee played with her console until she brought up the sensors. "Scrap." she stated.

"Very helpful." Japheth sardonically said to her. "Will someone tell me what is."

"Predacon." Carron said, with forced evenness.

"And that's not even the worst of it." Japheth stated.

"Worse than a Predacon?" Arcee sardonically asked.

"He hasn't attacked yet." Japheth stated.

"How do we know?" Sirenia asked.

"Oh." Arcee sardonically stated, "We would know."

"Arcee, open up comms. to him." Japheth stated.

"They don't have comms." Arcee uttered.

"Oh. Right. Swell." he grumbled. "Stormwright, I don't suppose you are brave enough to get out and try to talk to him?"

"If I was Windblade..." Stormwright nervously uttered.

"Well, she would probably just cut it in half." Arcee uttered.

"I." Carron said with as much force as she could muster to quelch the worry and fear. She looked at the Prime and drew strength from him. Everyone but Japheth looked at her. "I - will." she firmly said, testing the furthest reaches of her determination.

Japheth had the ship slow into a hover. He finally looked back at her, "You can return to the ship at any time." he said.

"My Prime." she firmly replied, using her strength to cover her fear.

"I want you back alive." he firmly asserted.

"My... My Prime!" she exclaimed.

The Griffinfly flew out of hte door and flew over, simply hovering around. Her compound eyes quickly found the Predacon, and turned towards him. He had two long necks, each with it's own head. The body and wings were reptilian. The Predacon turned around, and flew obliquely towards them. When he got close he started to orbit around them, always with one head following them. He eventually spiralled downward.

"Carron, return!" Japheth shouted over the comms. The Griffingfly flew back into the airlock, and the ship turned to follow the descent. The Predacon flew down into almost a clearing, a path that had more than enough room for the Skyfall to maneuver. The Skyfall followed it down the twisting, but open path between the colossal, purple mushrooms, until they finally reached the bottom. The Predacon flew away, off between the colossal, violet mushrooms as the Skyfall set itself down.

Japheth walked down the main ramp, looking about. Arcee quickly followed behind him. He looked back to see Carron transforming into her Griffinfly alt. form, and his eyes narrowed, "No, stay near the ramp. We might have to..."

"Turn our tailpipe and run." Arcee stated, and he looked at her and smiled. He turned back, looking about as he descended the ramp. He walked out and stopped as Arcee walked out beside him. Without more than a few powerful wingbeats as warning, the Predacon landed in front of him. The necks pulled apart, but the heads looked back in upon him.

"Hail." Japheth stated, and the heads simply looked at him. "I am Japheth Prime, and I am glad we can talk." The heads simply looked at him, "Won't you transform and join me?"

"Transform?" the left head asked.

"Isn't that what the small things do?" the right asked.

"He's amazing." a Dollform Carron whispered, with the rest of the Femmes in Dollform, crowded around the top of the ramp.

"Good thing he has experience speaking with twins." Roxana said with glee.

"With this false beasts?" the left head asked.

Japheth looked at him for a moment, "On Terra, during the last phases of The War..."

"The?" the left head interrupted him.

"War?" the right head added.

"I guess the Great War never reached here." He looked out, and then neutral, and then the sides, before looking back at them, "It's easy to see why." he uttered. "Predaking." he stated.

"PREDAKING?!" the two heads exclaimed.

"Learned to transform." Japheth uttered.

"Transform?" They both quietly asked.

"Transformation is an inherent part of Cybertronian biology." Japheth stated. "If Predaking can, then every Predacon should be able to, as well."

"You would?.." the left head asked.

"...assume we are as?.." the right one added.

"...good as Predaking?" the left one asked.

Japheth smiled, but gently shook his head, "He found out that transformation was actually quite easy." The two heads looked at him for a moment. The internal eyes looked at each other for a moment. A moment later they transformed into a two-headed Cybertronian. They kept quiet, trying to hide their surprise and wonder. "I am here to find a lost Cybertronian colony." he stated.

"Things like you?" the left head asked.

"Things like Us." Japheth uttered.

"Us?" the two asked at once.

"Our sparks are both products of the Thirteen Primes." Japheth stated.

"You would consider us the same?" they asked, and Japheth thought it over.

"As a Prime, you are one... two of my charges." Japheth stated. The two heads looked at him, at first with surprise, then contemplation, then a seeming acceptance. "I have to ask how you can live for such long aeons without Energon?"

"Energon?" the left head asked.

"Is that what he speaks us?" the right asked the left.

"What do I speak of?" Japheth asked, and the two heads looked back at him.

"That thing..." the left stated.

"...that we can smell.." the right added.

"...that we can taste." the left uttered.

"The false things taste of." the right added.

"Taste?" Arcee harshly asked, and Japheth used his left hand to push her back. She gave him a harsh look, and he gave her a knowing one. She backed down.

"As for your question?" the left asked.

"The sun." the right replied.

"Holy Mother of Primes!" Arcee exclaimed.

Japheth looked down to give her a curious expression.

"Siren taught me." Arcee sardonically stated, as if that was enough, and for Japheth, and it was.

In my mind, Optimus didn’t reject the offer of once again becoming Cybertron's leader solely on a selfless and sober understanding:"I am a leader of warriors, not government". There was another, stronger reason for him to do so.

Being a Prime wasn't truly his choice. It was put on him to carry. Although he dutifully and sincerely grew into it, performing all that was expected of him and beyond. But he took it never without hesitation.

In being a Prime, he had to make many sacrifices, some very personal. He had to put his own needs, desires, and feelings far behind in favor of many others' well-being and happiness. He even had made the ultimate sacrifice TWICE.

His rejection at the end of RID was him finally putting himself first and enjoying life for himself for the first time in eons. It was him LIVING for the first time.

I'd like to think he managed to find a wide-sprawling plain shortly after that, where he laughed maniacally, doing a little stupid jig, thinking: "No way in hell am I going back to doing that shit, mwehehehe".

I’m just gonna say he snapped. Like when I type snapped I want to put in italicized mode but I can’t. Rip. Anyways back to the question above, I think in season three with spitefire and aftermatches body’s being used as people to talk with is just a tiny spect of how much of his sanity he’s trying to hold on. That’s from being imprisoned so imagine how much sanity will be left if he learns that his trinemates just abandon him. This will absolutely mess him up for good. It also could have him flashback to Skyfire and Megatron leaving. I know we haven’t see Skyfire in the show but with how much it is similar to g1 I betting the same thing happened with Skyfire in g1 happened with ES as well. It’s also important to remember how important he was to him so that betrayal hurt him. I don’t mean physical but emotional and mentally. Like imagine spending millions of years searching for someone you trusted then when you find them they stab you in the spark. That’s obviously left major ptsd and other problem for Starscream. Then we have bucket head. Yes he had abused him but if you take the abuse of the picture and look at the scenes they actually get along together, they could have had a decent relationship. They were showed to get along in those scenes so yes they had problem with each other (Megatron abusing Starscream and Starscream trying to kill Megatron) but they could get along together some times. So what I’m trying to say is yes they hurt each other but they don’t always hurt each other. Which bring me to why it would hurt Starscream when Megatron betrayed the Decepticons. Megatron basically left the cause he had build from his hands along with Starscream. They had trust, even though it was very little, it was still trust. In the g1 cartoon Megatron trusted Starscream to weld him in his gun mode. A mode which he could have easily killed Megatron in but never did. I am continuing here because I ran out of room so here u guys go. So if Megatron had let him use him as a gun, his, most weakest form, multiple time then I am assuming it because they have trust. So when Megatron betrayed the Decepticons and became an autobot it traumatized Starscream. He trusted not one but two people and they both left him. This is gonna give him the mentality that he can’t trust nobody which could be why in the dweller episode, he left his trinemates behind. His mind was screaming that he couldn’t trust them and that they would hurt him like Megatron and skyfire. Then when hashtag believed him, he saw a person he could trust not to betray him(hasbro just had to make season 2 Starscream destroy his relationship with hashtag 😭) throughout that episode we saw him put himself in danger to protect her because she trusted and believed in him when nobody else did. Ok im going so of topic. What was I typing about again? Right so that’s what I think for the question, I don’t know how to reblogg which ish why I’m putting the link to the post.
