Bon Voyage (NSFW) FT Yoohyeon

Authors note: This better not awaken anything in me… oh no it did. My longest work by a county mile. Have fun.
Part II
There is a codex keeper on every expedition ship who holds the history of his people. Trained to be not only a warrior but also a healer and a scholar. The path of a codex keeper is wrought with strife and misery, but often they are venerated as heroes due to their aptitude in the myriad of professions they undertake.
The ship known as the Royal Marquis is no different For that’s crew codex keeper went by the name of Orion.
Orion was a soft-hearted and passionate Codex keeper whose humanity shone in even the darkest nights with light that could rival the stars. Born and raised on Nebula M78. Orion was taught above all to be kind and serve. For everyone knocked down by your actions you must use both hands to raise them back up. A message so engrained that even throughout all of his many runes and teachings of wisdom etched into his dark body this one hovered over him as a constant flowing and glowing halo a testament to his belief. His relentless pursuit of the ideal and peaceful was only matched by his equally fervent devotion to his faith in others and the Triumvirate. Although appreciated by many on the ship many feared the power and influence he held over the ship. His soft teal iris contrasted by pitch-black sclera held both Tranquility and Turmoil a testament to his unbreakable nature. Trained by his legendary and wizened Codex Master of acquiescence Lorgar; Orion is a truly formidable force in his own right.
Despite his jovial demeanor, Orion sticks to himself when not directly helping the crew or being consulted for his expertise. His understanding of the disdain that many of the ship’s crew had for him was palpable and understood.
This disdain went beyond and would include even those in his order, although in many ways he was an average codex keeper. Average height, average weight, etc. The only exception to his mediocrity was his academic, arbitration scores (which were exceptionally high and occasionally cause for concern) and his faith in the triumvirate as the codex preferred its applicant's faithful only to the cause. Which is exactly why Keeper Orion’s master chose him. This is why after his most recent excursion; Orion finds himself heading to His master's office. Before he could enter he saw the Codex Masters of Academics (Samuel) and Arbitration (Michael). Neither saw him as the two entered his Master's chambers.
The Codex Masters of Arbitration and Academics entered the personal chambers of the Codex Master or Acquiescence. They needed to discuss his refusal to admonish the Codex Keeper Orion, for failing to adhere to one of his core functions and losing a codex of his. they worried it would fall into the wrong hands and the lost history would be weaponized against their order. In truth, the Codex had been consumed by an accidental firing of Orion's rapidly developing and uncontrollable magic powers. The reason why the lie on the part of Orion was that in a miraculous turn of events he had developed the black lines of a mage. A feat that should have been impossible, but if there was one thing that many people knew Orion for it was impossible feats.
“Codex master of Acquiescence Logar we are here to discuss the lack of chastisement and admonishing done to your pupil codex keeper Orion, after failing to maintain his core function as Codex keeper.” Codex Master of Academics prattled.
Codex Master Lorgar looked up from his writings and looked to his other two Codex Masters
“Keeper Orion was serving his other core function when his codex was destroyed in protecting and serving the crew and citizens of the expedition ship The Royal Marquis while it was conducting the Pilgrimage when it attacked by Beyond Beasts”
“While that is true he still lost his codex and must go through the reassembly rite.” Codex Master of Academics: Samuel responded.
“He keeps an extra codex already assembled as per our written code. Plus he always prepares three when he needs a new Codex, for this exact reason.”
"Well, how will we what was lost in the data?" Codex Master of Arbitration Michael asked.
"Simple he records in both his normal Codex, His spare, and his personal Journal to again avoid the loss of information. This is why I didn't report the loss well destruction of his codex to either of you. he did all of the proper preparation before an expedition, and honestly I wouldn't have even known had it not been for him telling me, which is more than I can say for either of your apprentices who have both recently lost their codecies." Lorgar rebuked
the two Codex Masters looked at Lorgar in surprise. They thought they had successfully safeguarded the issue of their apprentice's data being breached.
This ended their conversation with Lorgar effectively and the two Codex Masters left. little did they know Orion heard the whole thing. He reduced himself as they walked out not wanting to further exaggerate their ire. After they left Orion entered his Master's office
As the weight of Lorgar's words settled over the room, Orion couldn't help but feel a sense of unease creeping over him. The implications of his growing powers and the potential consequences weighed heavily on his mind, casting a shadow over the otherwise tranquil atmosphere.
"Your ability to pass without a trace is impressive but concerning, Orion," Lorgar teased, his tone laced with a hint of amusement as he felt a familiar presence enter his room.
Orion smirked, though his expression betrayed a flicker of nervousness. "My apologies, my master. I just didn't want to expand the ire of the other Codex Masters."
"It's much too late for that. If you wanted that, you should have died when those pirates attacked and you saved both of their apprentices. By the way, your wound is finally healing," Lorgar joked lightly, though there was an underlying seriousness in his words that didn't escape Orion's notice.
"Don't remind me, had Leito listened to me I wouldn't have gotten it. Bleh I will never understand the politics of this order," Orion remarked, his tone tinged with frustration.
"For that, I appreciate it. Often we get caught up in the religion of politics and forget our Order's purpose," Lorgar lamented, his gaze thoughtful as he regarded his apprentice.
"What do you mean, Master?" Orion asked, his curiosity piqued.
"I appreciate your inquiry, but surely you have seen the devout faith and zeal that some of our order has displayed in the political arena?" Lorgar clarified his words carrying a weight of wisdom borne from years of experience. Orion nodded in understanding, recognizing the truth in his master's words.
"Now, what bothers you, Orion?" Lorgar inquired, his tone gentle yet probing.
In response, Orion slowly undid his bandages, revealing the growing black lines that covered his forearms. The sight caused Lorgar to loom over the revelation, his expression grave.
"Have you been practicing with Magik?" Lorgar questioned, his voice tinged with concern.
Orion shook his head, his gaze meeting his master's with a mixture of apprehension and confusion. Every use of his Magik powers had always been accidental, lacking intention or control. There was a silver lining, however, Orion’s Codex Keeper Glyphs were beginning to mature and become silver meaning he would be up for the mark of Mastery Exam. Something Lorgar knew he would ace guaranteed. It just pained Lorgar that as often with his apprentice every victory is hard fought and pyrrhic.
Taking note of his apprentice's response, Lorgar continued, "Does your Ward Witch companion know?"
"No, Master, but both Yoohyeon and Dami have expressed their suspicions," Orion admitted, his voice tinged with worry.
"Well, keep it that way if you can. You know the stakes if others were to discover that both Psionics and Magik powers exist in you," Lorgar cautioned, his words carrying a weight of urgency as he emphasized the potential consequences of such a revelation.
"I would become a weapon at best and at worst a political tool," Orion responded. Lorgar nodded he always appreciated Orion's ability to listen and trust. It was one of his best and worst qualities. Along with his compassion. The two things that made him an excellent leader could easily make him such a threat to the federation if he were so inclined. Planets would follow Orion to war if he raised a banner, the horrifying part is Lorgar would also join too, knowing his apprentice. So he chose to make sure his apprentice stayed low to the ground and humble because if not Orion's sincerity, Compassion, and true Zeal could bathe the starways in blood.
After he met with the codex master, Orion returned to his shared residence with the Ward Witch Yoohyeon. Before delving further into the story, let's elucidate the concept of a Ward Witch, which may be unfamiliar to some.
In the realm of the expedition ship, Ward Witches adhere to a code that intertwines service, seduction, arbitration, and attraction. They are formally trained magicians, drawing power from mana channeled through various mediums. Unlike Codex Keepers who wield psionics to directly manifest change, Ward Witches practice a more traditional form of magic, employing spell incantations and specific mediums to fuel their abilities.
These enigmatic practitioners, often found traveling in packs known as covens, blend raw emotion with guarded restraint, weaving spells that balance expression and control. Typically, a Ward Witch is paired with a Codex Keeper due to the complementary nature of their abilities.
Enter Yoohyeon Kim, an extraordinary Ward Witch hailing from Prime Terra. Versatile and adept, she excels in diplomacy, boasting proficiency in eight out of the twelve core and rim languages of the federation. Her prowess extends beyond linguistics; Yoohyeon's exceptional singing talent significantly enhances her magical abilities. Her other skills were equal in proficiency whether it be her dance, or her combat prowess if it was a skill to be master odds are Yoohyeon was a master of it.
Intriguingly, Yoohyeon's coven comprises mostly performers, each member's abilities amplifying their talents. Her excellence stands in stark contrast to Orion's averageness, yet their coupling was orchestrated by forces beyond their comprehension, guided by celestial powers and higher entities.
Yoohyeon smiled as she watched her chosen partner walk in. She lounged on their sofa as Orion walked in she waved seductively hoping to catch his eye
“Hello sweetheart,” she cooed. Orion smiled and then noticed her absence of clothing, and his body responded. He walked over to her and held her face close before kissing her intently. Yoohyeon smiled into the kiss before taking her opportunity and flipping their position. She smiled at Orion before going in for another passionate kiss. Her dainty but strong and nimble hand opens Orion’s pants for her desired piece of him at this moment. Orion could feel Yoohyeon drip onto his clothed legs as she meticulously stroked his rod in preparation for penetration. Yoohyeon reveled in the power she held over her chosen partner. When she felt his rod stiffen to its full potential she lowered herself onto him as they kissed. Orion fell victim to the rhythm of his body but before he could truly fall into it Yooyheon stopped and his hips and set his hands upon her perky petite breasts.
“Relax Sweetheart let me take the lead,” she said her voice low sultry, and stern. Orion wordlessly nods and Yoohyeon smiles before diving in. She begins by riding Orion at a tortuous and glacial pace. Orion's moans delighted Yoohyeon as she slightly increased her pace. She begins to kiss his exposed shoulder before she sucks on it with the intent of leaving a mark on "Her Codex Keeper". When she heard Orion moan again she broke the kiss to see her work accomplished she smiled. She then went back to kissing his lips as she increased her tempo slightly once more. she watched as Orion fell increasingly into submission with her. Her folds encased Orion in an almost suffocating tightness that left the keeper-headed. However, the Ward Witch also knew that she often kept the keeper breathless and speechless in bed. Something she fought to change since she loved the sound of his voice. A soothing anchor to her often hectic life, while the tone and inflection left things to be desired what he said was always a comfort to her. So to get the desired reaction, she slammed her bountiful bottom into his crotch eliciting a shared moan from the couple
“Do you like it, Sweetheart," Yooheyon asks seductively as she traces his Codex keeper glyphs that cover his body in a mirrored way to her Magik tattoos. Orion nods which causes Yoohyeon to tease him further, "Use your words, sweetheart. Do you like it?"
"Yes Dear you know my body so well," Orion says breathlessly. Yoohyeon smiles as she continues her ride she slows her lace slightly to drive Orion mad even further.
"I love the way you feel under me. I love the way you writhe and squirm but still do as I ask." Yoohyeon moaned as she neared her release.
"After all we've been through I wouldn't have it any other way," Orion replies. His words inadvertently send Yoohyeon over the edge as she cums on her partner. she continues to ride before her sensitivity gets the better of her and she hops off of his rod. Yooyhyeon lies next to Orion. She moves his hand to her ample posterior and has him firmly grip it as they remember the past. a favorite post-coitus time for the couple
"You remember when we first met Othello," Yoohyeon asked, Orion nodded
"How could I forget."
2 years earlier.
Codex Keeper Orion stood at his post getting ready for his first expedition. He was worried that he would be late so he arrived at the Royal Marquis 2.5 hours before he was supposed to. He eased his nerves by doing the glyphs of protection over the ship. He figured another once-over couldn't hurt. As he did his work he felt a presence watching him. He turned around to see a young woman with Dyed blonde and brown hair watching him. Embarrassed Orion quickly stopped his warding glyphs. the blonde smiled and said
"Well, Well, Well, Hi there," she said as she approached with a friendly tone. it put Orion at ease who smiled back at her and outstretched his hand to her. The young lady smiled and grabbed his hand but as she went to shake it she tripped causing both Orion and her to fall to the ground. The girl apologized profusely as the two of them got up.
"I am so sorry I am usually not this clumsy. My name is Yoohyeon, and I am the ward Witch for this ship." Yoohyeon finished.
Orion recognized the name and said, "Wait like the one of the Dreamcatcher Coven?" Yoohyeon's eyes went wide as not many knew her Coven throughout the federation.
"Wait you know us?" she asked surprised.
"Yes, I am a big fan!" Orion replied excitedly
"Oh, who's your favorite." Yoohyeon teased playfully
"No that's a setup because if I don't say you, you'll look at me funny but if I say you you won't believe me so I'll go with my typical answer of I don't have a favorite," Orion replied.
Yoohyeon smirked playfully, "Okay I'll accept that." she replied. Orion nods as the two of them walk together around the Ship.
"Wait I didn't get your name," Yoohyeon replied as they walked around the ship and Orion finished his Warding Glyphs
"Oh no worries Orion is my Keeper's name but my actual name is Othello."
"Oh Orion...I wouldn't peg you as a Mythology buff." Yoohyeon teased.
"I'm not I got Orion from a comic book." Orion replies
"Oh, that's way cooler than." Yoohyeon playfully affirmed. as she leaned into the Eldorian. when he caught her she smiled "Ooh sturdy body. I like it," Yoohyeon cooed.
Orion didn't lose the sense of being watched however he was put at ease by the Ward Witch.
"So this is your apprentice? He's underwhelming at first glance. Are you sure Yoohyeon won't be held back by his mediocrity?" Lady Sunshine, the Ward Witch and direct mentor of Yoohyeon, questioned Codex Master Lorgar as they observed Orion.
Lorgar's expression remained calm as he responded, "Appearances can be deceiving, Lady Sunshine. Keeper Orion may not strike you as exceptional, but I assure you, he possesses qualities that go beyond mere outward appearances."
Lady Sunshine arched an eyebrow skeptically. "Oh? And what qualities might those be?"
A knowing smile played on Lorgar's lips. "You'll see soon enough. I have arranged for a test that will showcase Orion's true capabilities."
Lady Sunshine's curiosity was piqued. "A test, you say? Color me intrigued. But forgive me if I remain skeptical until I witness this supposed potential firsthand."
Lorgar nodded, undeterred by her skepticism. "I wouldn't expect anything less, Lady Sunshine. Rest assured, Orion will not disappoint."
With a dismissive wave of her hand, Lady Sunshine replied, "Well, I suppose we shall see."
"If I may, Lady Sunshine," Lorgar interjected, "I have full confidence in Orion's abilities.
Their conversation concluded with a sense of anticipation lingering in the air, both mentors eager to see what the future held for their respective apprentices.
Over the next few hours the ship, supplies, and fuel were packed for the 8-month trip. While this was going on it was common practice for both Yoohyeon and Orion to help the crew loading. This is of significance because often Ward Witches and Codex Keepers do not do this. so a majority of the crew and passengers for the Grand Marquis were shocked. Obviously, with her impressive Magik skills, Yoohyeon was able to do a lot more than Orion but Yoohyeon while being extremely skilled was also prone to clumsiness. often her over-eagerness to be of service would cost her focus and mess her up. Thankfully for every single one of those mishaps, Orion was there to cover for her and help her. So what usually took over 25 hours to load up took five with Yoohyeon and Orion's help. After loading up the passengers and crew waited in their various quarters.
Othello was lying on his bed in his quarters, exhausted from the day's work of loading supplies onto the ship for the upcoming 8-month trip. As he started to drift off into a light doze, he heard a gentle knock on his door.
Pushing himself up, Othello stretched out his tired muscles before making his way to the door. Opening it, he was met with the sight of Yoohyeon standing there, she dyed blonde and brown hair tousled from the day's activities.
"Hey," she said softly, a small smile playing on her lips. "Mind if I come in?"
Othello's heart skipped a beat at the sight of her, his pulse quickening slightly. "Of course," he replied, stepping aside to let her enter.
Yoohyeon stepped into his quarters as she did her heightened magic senses felt the change in Othello's heartbeat as she moved closer to him. Yoohyeon smiled at that, her eyes scanning the room before settling on
Othello. "I just wanted to thank you for today," she said sincerely, her gaze meeting his. "I couldn't have done it without your help."
Othello felt a warmth spread through him at her words, his chest swelling with pride. "It was nothing," he replied modestly, though inwardly he was pleased to have been able to assist her.
As they stood there facing each other, a comfortable silence fell between them. Othello couldn't help but notice the way Yoohyeon's eyes sparkled in the dim light of his quarters, or the way her smile seemed to brighten the room.
Suddenly feeling self-conscious under her gaze, Othello cleared his throat. "Is there anything else you need?" he asked, trying to sound casual.
Yoohyeon shook her head, her smile widening. "No, I just wanted to say thank you," she said softly. "But if you ever need anything, you know where to find me."
"I don't" Othello responded bluntly
Yoohyeon laughed and said, "Oh right! room 307 just three doors down from you at 310." Yoohyeon said
With that, Yoohyeon turned to leave, but before she could take a step,
Othello found himself speaking up again. "Wait," he blurted out, his heart racing in his chest.
Yoohyeon turned back to him, her eyebrows raised in surprise. "Yes?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity. She could hear his heart racing and tried to hide her smile. She wondered why he was so flustered.
"I just... I wanted to say that I'm glad we could work together today," Othello said, his words coming out in a rush. "And I... I enjoyed spending time with you."
There was a moment of hesitation as Yoohyeon regarded him, her expression unreadable. Othello agonized over her pause, but then, to Othello's relief, she smiled, her eyes softening.
"Me too," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. And with that, she turned and left, leaving Othello standing there, his heart pounding in his chest.
As he watched her go, Othello couldn't help but feel a sense of joy well within him. He hoped he would be seeing more of her. he also noticed as she walked out she gave a seductive little Sashay of the room drawing his eye to her hips and her stellar rump. Yoohyeon chuckled as she walked out. her little act of seduction having its desired effect as she heard Othello's heart race a little bit faster. She bit her lip excited "Playing with you will be fun Keeper." she said as she got into her room.
Over the next few weeks, the duo's schedules would align enough to where they would see each other quite often, but never more for moments at a time, and in those fleeting moments. Orion's nerves would slowly melt away as he would see her. usually clean up a mess she made in a rush, having messed up a spell or invocation just slightly in her hectic life, but always Orion would help her out. The female Captain took note of Orion's helpfulness and brought him on to help her in conflict resolution matters between crew members along with helping the mechanics.
Captain Marie was taken aback by all of his questions but quickly learned they were not from a place of Malice but an insatiable need to know everything. It was endearing to her and also a little inspiring as he made her better by challenging thought processes and perspectives. She was a new Captain of Expedition ships so someone who asked a lot of in-depth questions helped her grow and helped foster a more in-depth knowledge of her craft
As Orion enmeshed himself in the ship's workings and culture it drew time away from his meetings with Yoohyeon, who felt increasing pains in her heart seeing him having to consistently leave her. Not used to these feelings she often would sneak little moments with him where they would catch up and talk during the end of the day in his bed. staring out his window of the ship gazing at the stars and other exceptional creatures/ ships that traveled the stars. As more weeks passed, Yoohyeon and Othello found themselves crossing paths less frequently, and their encounters increasingly fleeting yet meaningful. Othello's nerves gradually melted away each time he saw her, his heart skipping a beat at her presence.
One evening, as Othello was tidying up his quarters after a long day, he heard a soft knock on his door. Opening it, he was delighted to find Yoohyeon standing there, a sheepish smile on her face.
"Hey," she greeted softly, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "Mind if I come in?"
Othello's heart raced at the sight of her, but he managed to nod eagerly, stepping aside to let her enter. Yoohyeon heard the beat of his heart playing and felt at ease. she loved the heavy percussion his heart had and how she always knew where he was because she knew his heartbeat so well. As she stepped into his quarters, he couldn't help but notice the faint blush that colored her cheeks.
"Is everything okay?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.
Yoohyeon nodded, her smile widening.
"Yeah, I just... missed talking to you," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
A rush of warmth flooded through Othello at her words, his smile growing in response. "I missed talking to you too," he confessed, his gaze meeting hers.
Settling onto the edge of Othello's bed, Yoohyeon leaned against the wall, her eyes fixed on the stars visible through the window. Othello joined her, their shoulders brushing as they gazed out into the vast expanse of space.
For a while, they sat in comfortable silence, the only sound the soft hum of the ship's engines. Then, Yoohyeon spoke up, her voice quiet yet filled with emotion.
"Do you ever wonder what's out there?" she asked, her gaze still fixed on the stars.
Othello nodded, his own eyes tracing the constellations overhead. "All the time," he admitted. "But somehow, when I'm with you, it feels like the universe isn't quite as daunting."
Yoohyeon turned to him, her eyes searching his face. At that moment, with the stars as their backdrop, the tension between them crackled with an unspoken desire.
As they sat together, bathed in the soft glow of starlight, Othello couldn't help but feel a sense of longing stirring within him. And he couldn't shake the feeling that, perhaps, Yoohyeon felt it too. Othello yawned as the fatigue got to him. it was a signal for Yoohyeon to leave as Othello was probably going to go to sleep soon. Reluctantly Yoohyeon got up and began to ready herself to leave.
The fatigue of working with the crew today and maintaining his codex keeper duties left Othello exhausted, but he wanted to spend more time with Yoohyeon.
"Hey Yoon. If you want... you can stay with me...here...tonight." Othello said. Yoohyeon looked at Othello with surprise as she heard his heart race even further. she wondered if this was him being nice or if he reciprocated her budding feelings.
"Oh, I don't want to be a bother," Yoohyeon responded.
Othello felt crushed by her rejection but his heart told him to fight through it and just try again, "No please be one Yoon...Wait that came out wrong. I enjoy your time considerably." Yoohyeon noticed the little nickname he made for her. it brought her a confident sense of joy.
"Okay then sure," she said as the two lay together in the bed watching the stars. As the two got in the spooning cuddle position (Yoohyeon was a little spoon
"I read your file Othello and I have a question. How did you get the nickname Demon Dog?"
Othello laughed at the poor translation of his moniker from Eldoria Akanui which translated contextually to Hellhound, but the literal translation was "Demon Dog".
"So back when I was training under Codex Master Lorgar on Eldoria my home planet. he bestowed me the moniker Akanui "due to my ability to navigate Hellish situations with the ferocity of a raged hound. due to Eldoria having a very easy Literal translation structure. the literal translation of Akanui which is Demon Dog stuck of the contextually Hellhound." Othello explained. Yoohyeon chuckled at this adorable gaff. which inspired Othello to reach out
"Okay, so I also read your file and there is something I wanted to ask." Othello started. Yoohyeon looked at him terrified.
"What's your family like? I have a weird relationship with mine but often when I was going through yours I saw how much you cited them for giving you love and strength." Othello asked. Yoohyeon smiled as she turned around
"They are the ones who taught me to be kind to everyone. they're tough, but also gentle. They give me love every time I go back home and keep me grounded. they remind me that I am human and not some demigod of power. No matter how many fans and others try to deify me." She says happily. A homesick tear falls down her face which Othello quickly wipes away from her cheek. as they look into each other's eyes for a fleeting moment. their relationship changed. Not fully but in that moment of remembrance and sentimentality their hearts toward each other changed definitively. Yoohyeon feeling almost compelled asked Othello about his family, Othello sighed, as he tried to parse the hurt from the truth to not obfuscate who he was from Yoohyeon
"My relationship is complicated. I am what the Eldoric people called "Rigid of mind" while for the most part, I am normal appearing and biologically to others. I am from a mental capacity, not that. I was also raised in a very religious and spiritual household that held very traditional and fundamentalist views that many times I found myself disagreeing with. this served to consistently have me head with the members of my family. until I began to withdraw into myself more and more. In that I found peace outside but a war within. Anger and resentment fill my heart at a world that consistently seeks to hurt and belittle me and my accomplishments so much so that I don't know my worth most days, but at the same time despite this. they are some of the most morally sound, and soft-hearted people I know. While I would never trust them with my heart I trust them with my life, and I have learned to be okay with that. I love them as they are, and not as what I want them to be." Othello said, and Yoohyeon listened she sensed the vulnerability in his words, the anger and resentment ebb and flow as he spoke but ultimately she saw the peace he had about his family and the true love he held for him. It broke her heart that he didn't have the most glowing review of his family but despite that, he still chose to find their unified humanity and unite in that spoke to her louder than any other act of service he had presented to her. he just gave her his heart and was trusting her with it, Yoohyeon noticed this and immediately understood the responsibility she held. Othello trusted her and she wouldn't fail him, as she knew that he would never fail her. After that Yoohyeon anchored herself a little deeper into Othello's arms as the two fell asleep comfortably together.
The next day The Royal Marquis and all its inhabitants hit the halfway point of their journey. due to the previous night's intensity, Yoohyeon and Orion woke up later than usual. this caused them to miss breakfast but since they were spending a full day at the refilling station on the planet Melibone they had time to kill. Per their usual routine, the couple helped load up everything again, and this time Yoohyeon made noticeably fewer mistakes and the process went even faster. Orion was always close to her as well. everyone besides Orion and Yoohyeon noticed the almost gravitational pull the two had on each other. The Captain had barely been able to contain her smirk knowing that another Codex Keeper and Ward Witch had grown close, but in her time with both Orion and Yoohyeon she noticed they were especially well paired for each other. Yoohyeon's genuine joy and exuberance for things often mirrored Orion's unrelenting desire to know and experience things to the fullest. she knew that they had spent their "rest hours" Chatting to each other for numerous nights and often caught glances of the two giving puppy dog eyes to the other. So she was just waiting for one of them to make the first move. As the refilling finished in a record-breaking 2 hours and 30 minutes with their help she Saw Orion and Yoohyeon approach her.
"Hey, Captain everything is loaded are we good to depart?" Orion said plainly. The Captain eyed Yoohyeon's body language. she had her arms possessively wrapped around Orion's left arm. what made it even more adorable was the tracing of the codex glyphs on his skin. She also noticed that the little mantra that hung over his head changed as well. instead of Core Terran English, it was Core Terran Hangul. Her and Yoohyeon's mother tongue. She remembered him explaining how he thought it worked but she couldn't remember the actual specifics. Orion often got so excited to share his knowledge that his answers would quickly go to many layers deep in complexity. As they waited for her answer she noticed the anxiety in their touches. their bodies screamed with impatience, but their eyes and faces told a different story. The couple was fully locked in on doing their duties but their bodies had other desires. The captain wondered how long the couple would hold out before their bodies made choices that their minds weren't fully in line with.
"No we have to leave at our scheduled time frames otherwise the ports won't be ready for us and we mess scheduling for other ships yadda, yadda. Charters and Port control get mad at me so for now we will stay on Melibone and enjoy the time off. you two especially need it with all of the work you two have done over the last two hours." the captain said positively to the couple. "Go see Elric of the black blade. I heard the play is excellent."The Captain added leaving the two to explore Melibone. The first thing the couple did was get food. There was a cafe nearby the port where the two ate their first meal of the day. While eating a female voice rang out to Yoohyeon
“Yoohyeon?” Orion and Yoohyeon turned to look at the voice in the same direction of the voice. A pretty lady with dark hair ran over to the two eating. Yoohyeon smiled seeing the girl as she tightly gripped Orion’s hand.
“Jiu-unnie how are you?” Yoohyeon said happily to her coven leader. Jiu smiled as she approached and spoke to the duo.
“Oh, I'm fantastic my Codex Keeper Freyjar has been taking exceptional care of me.”
Yoohyeon heard Orion’s heart rate spike and his open fist clenched as Jiu said the name Freyjar. She looked at his face and watched his expression shift from comfort to an unreadable expression. As his heart rate mellowed it took on an unhurried pace that held an almost malevolent tone. Unaware of the silent conversation going on between Yoohyeon and Orion she sat with them. After she got comfortable she turned to her Codex Keeper who looking for her when she heard his heartbeat
“Ah Freyjar come over here,” Jiu said Jubilant. Freyjar turned to the familiar voice and walked over to see Jiu Freyjar turned to the familiar voice and walked over to see his favorite Ward Witch along with a familiar face
“Devil Dog?” Freyjar exclaimed surprised
Yoohyeon listened to Orion’s heart rate slow even further. Jiu noticed this as well but didn't want to cause a scene.
“Let's keep it professional Keeper Freyjar please call me Keeper Orion,” Orion said flatly. Jiu appreciated Orion’s attempt to diffuse the situation immensely and smiled at him. Freyjar noticed this and his heart grew jealous. Yoohyeon noticed though that Jiu and Freyjar had synchronized heartbeats whereas Orion and hers Alternated. Freyjar watched Orion with maintained an unreadable. He looked for any hint of emitting but Codex Master Lorgar taught Keeper Orion well and his face was a stoic mask. He did notice that he was latching on to The blonde lady who sat next to Jiu. That's it that's the pain point he thought.
“Okay, Keeper Orion. Who is this lady you seem keen on?” Orion tensed before Jiu came to his rescue.
“Oh this is the member of my Coven I was telling you about Yoohyeon,” Jiu explained.
Freyjar nodded still staring at Orion.
“Oh, the clumsy puppy you mentioned.”
Orion’s stoic mask slips for a moment as he turns to smile at Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon returned his smile she was happy to see it even if for a moment. The waitress arrived breaking the tension and the politics for a moment asking the group what they desired.
"Can I try one of your pastry pies one meat and one berry?" Orion asked. Melibone was known for its pastry pies and he figured such a simple meal would be hard to mess up and an excellent yet also a safe gauge for the quality of the cafe. Yoohyeon got the house special. Jiu got a simple salad and Freyjar got a steak. After that Jiu and Freyjar led the conversation as Orion barely spoke leaving Yoohyeon to speak. it was uncharacteristic of him the two often spoke and tumbled over and around each other in conversation so seeing him so guarded was concerning. She held him close and hoped he would open up.
"So Orion how is your first expedition? Is it exciting? Jiu and I have faced pirates and several webs of political intrigue," Freyjar said smugly.
"Not currently, but I appreciate the quiet. allows me to focus on my task and functions as a Codex Keeper," Orion replied measuredly. Freyjar's eyes narrowed.
"That suits you honestly. Your mediocrity has always been so baffling. I mean you barely passed trials with that mediocre Expedition you did." Freyjar teased. Jiu and Yoohyeon both froze. they sensed the growing tension between Freyjar and Orion. Freyjar was digging for a reaction and Orion wasn't giving it to him, so he kept digging deeper and deeper.
"We Graduated all the same Keeper Freyjar," Orion responded coldly.
"Yes but I mean who would want to work with someone so unimpressive? Your academic scores are average. your arbitration scores are solid I'll give you that but... that's it. you average nothing special." Freyjar said.
" Hey stop that. Keeper Orion is an excellent Codex keeper. He serves the ship and keeps everyone in high spirits.
"No Ward Witch he isn't you defend the worst of us, and all you have to say is oh he is kind. Kindness is a weakness. A codex Keeper is meant to be exemplar warrior scholars and Psion, and he's none of that." Freyjar interrupted. Jiu watched with an eagle eye as Orion's eyes twitched when Freyjar raised his voice to Yooheyon.
"Keeper Freyjar I am going to give you one chance to apologize to Ward Witch Yoohyeon," Orion said coldly
"What will you do?" Freyjar challenged Orion and didn't respond just glared silently at Freyjar, this intense psionic pressure hit him and he felt as if he was being crushed. He started to panic as breathing became labored. "Damned Pako. I am sorry Mrs. Kim" Freyjar said as he breath. Yoohyeon nodded, but hearing the name Pako sent chills down her spine. Pako was the name of the near-feral Codex keeper who went on the last major expedition with her Mentor. She had heard frightening tales about how he set a planet on fire and killed over 100 men in one day. Surely that couldn't be Orion, but she didn't know much about his past as a Codex Keeper though. The rest of the day they spent exploring Melibone the questions began to pile up and wear on her heavier with each cute moment. "What if he's a monster?" she kept asking herself.
After finishing up at the Cafe (Which Orion paid for) the group split up
When the duo arrive back at the port they are shocked to see everyone unloading The Royal Marquis. Yoohyeon and Orion quickly get back into service mode but are stopped by The Captain. "No, my two working dogs. You two rest for the rest of the day because we have new orders. In the second half of this expedition, we are going to be flying with the new mega-ship "The Dreadnaught." and taking The Royal Marquis back after we get back halfway. Also, I am under strict instructions from the new Captain to not be as fast as we were because he doesn't want to wait. so you two can rest in your new quarters tonight. Here are your room numbers and ID keys."
The duo chuckled seeing their rooms were the same numbers 307 and 310 again. After moving all of their belongings from their old quarters to their new quarters they met up in 310 (Yoohyeon’s room) this time around. As they sat together she decided to ask Othello about the Devil’s ruin
“Oh that it was a normal expedition. Just had an issue with a planet going through Civil war that was one of the port planets and to complete the mission. I brokered a peace long enough for us to get in and out of.” Othello explained
Yoohyeon knew of Devil’s run it was the ship her mentor Lady Sunshine ran, and where she had done her test. She also knew a few years back or so there was an expedition that was almost cursed. That almost took the life of Lady Sunshine, and her current apprentice Hanni, but she figured that the Codex Keeper and his apprentice who were on the ship couldn't have been related, Othello was too kind to be that merciless and seemed very hesitant to fight but today’s trip
“Hey Othello who was the ward witch on that expedition?” Yoohyeon asked cautiously.
“Oh um, I believe it was two Lady Sunshine and her at-the-time apprentice Hanni,” Othello replied calmly, and Yoohyeon’s heart sank.
“You're Pako (Hellhound), the scourge of Theros. You led a one-man campaign from Nykthos to Meletis. You're a war monster. ” Yoohyeon interjected. Othello’s heart sinks as Yoohyeon says his epithet. He gets up to leave understanding that her affection may have turned into hate. Yoohyeon watched relieved as he left but something stirred within Yoohyeon that made her supersede her mentor's warnings. She got up between him and the doors. “Tell me why you did it?” she asked.
Othello answered slowly, “To ensure everyone’s safety on Devil’s ruin I had to do some truly unpleasant things, and I didn't like the way people watched doing these things. The looks of disgust and disdain I got for playing the bad guy when I had to. I had to Kill Helios, and Hades to make sure everyone got home safe. I had to stack those bodies, on not only Theros but on Ixialan and Bant and all of those other planets we fought on that accursed expedition. The horror of it all though was while in it I had never felt more alive. I didn't have to worry about hiding behind masks. There were no discussions about offenses and hesitations or the mincing of words it was straightforward and all my choices mattered I thrived in that hell which is why I guess everyone looks at me as terrible because I thrived in it, but I'd rather be a warlord in a garden then a Gardner in a war.”
Yoohyeon was taken aback by Othello’s Alacrity himself but still very much reconciling with the revelation that he was a warlord…a reluctant warlord but a Warlord nonetheless. Despite learning about Othello's past, Yoohyeon couldn't shake the deep connection she felt with him. As they sat together in her room, his words about his past weighed heavily on her mind. Yet, when she looked into his eyes, she saw genuine remorse and vulnerability, which only deepened her empathy for him.
"Othello," she began softly, reaching out to touch his hand, "I understand that you've had to make difficult choices in the past. But that doesn't change how I feel about you." Her heart raced as she spoke, her hand trembling slightly against his.
Othello’s gaze met hers, his expression a mix of gratitude and disbelief. "You... you still feel the same way?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Yoohyeon nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Yes, I do. Because despite everything, I see the person you are now—the kind, compassionate man who's always there for me. That's the Othello I've come to care about, and nothing can change that."
As they sat together, their hands intertwined, Yoohyeon felt a renewed sense of connection with Othello. Despite his past, she couldn't deny the chemistry between them or the hope she held for their future together. She did have one question remaining,
“Where was your support when this all happened? Why do all the stories paint you as doing this all on your own?” Orion considers Yoohyeon’s words and thought about the cleanest answer before he replied
“They say in War there is this fog war this uncertainty whenever one engages in large-scale combat engagements. To me, it's a spotlight I know what I need to do and when it needs to be done, so it's all a matter of performance and that's liberating at least for me. Take my battle with Helios. I had no idea he was going to set his city on fire to stop me all I knew was that if I defeated him I would be successful. So everything I did that night. Saving the children women and men as Pompeii burned Nykthos Freeing Kruphix teaming up with Xenagos to finish Helios were all part of taking hold of the spotlight and doing all I could with it.”
Yooyheon watched in wonder as Othello spoke with childlike innocence about his experience. She didn't realize that he never set Pompeii to blow. All the stories about it only mention it as a major event going on. They also never mentioned him saving people. Every record only mentions his fight with Helios and the total fatality count. It also never mentioned Kruphix (who is the current and beloved leader of a unified Theros Along with his lover Klothys) all of these critical facts drastically change the story of how she saw the story. Whenever Othello told stories his contained hope and this striving to be better for the sake of others made her realize something deeper about him. He wasn't some moral-lacking warlord. He was a boy trying to live up to his Heroes and the expectations placed upon him. this made everything click about Othello. Yoohyeon smiled overwhelmed by seeing him in a new light she grabbed his collar and kissed him their kiss lasting several minutes. When the two broke the kiss Othello was speechless. As he stared at Yoohyeon trying to catch his breath.
“Whoa.” was all Othello could manage.
“You want to be a hero. You want to do the right thing. Vanquish evil and save the princess.” Yoohyeon said. “Tell me the full story,” Yoohyeon said her eyes lit with Joy. Othello looked at her confused before acquiescing to her as he always did.
“When we arrived on Theros we were only supposed to be there for 25 hours to load and unload we had guaranteed safe passage for being with the federation as long as we stayed neutral which we did. We talked to no one housed no prisoners and no one even left the port. At the fourth hour, the Nykthos private militia came for Lorgar (larger originally hails from Theros and was a child soldier under Heliod before leaving the planet, which everyone knew but Heliod took offense to so we are all taken as prisoners to be executed via the fighting pits. My master doesn't rattle easily but the situation rattled him. We enter the fight pits and I go on an absolute tear of victories. 22 to be exact the crowd loves it they love me. So I decided to leverage this love to declare the fight for everyone who is enslaved currently’s freedom. This is the part where I kinda blackout and go 121-0 this ends with Helios having to free everyone in the prison. He only has one condition we leave with all the prisoners. We accept that beside us the only prisoners are a man named Kruphix and his son Xenagos. So we leave but I don't trust Helios so I go over our ship and find bombs planted on them. I tell Lorgar who tells the federation. The Federation declares an immediate act of intervention when the leaders of Thermos decide to let the planet burn. So Tiro removes him and his husband from power and leaves the planet. But Heliod sets off to Pompeii the planet-destroying Volcano central to Theros and says to everyone “I'll turn this planet into a burial ground” Lorgar is adamant we leave but I can't in good conscience let an entire planet die so I tell him
“If I lose my life today may I not see you tomorrow before I fight my way to Nykthos. Devil’s Ruin leaves me on Nykthos. I challenge Helios for the city and I beat him. As he reeling in his loss he decides to stab me. Xenagos covers me and kills Helios but he dies protecting me I stop the volcano and give the rule back to Kruphix and he reinstates their previous form of government. The federation arrives too and they get me back onto the Devil’s ruin to the surprise and chagrin of everyone on the ship.”
Yoohyeon sat enthralled as she listened as Othello finished his story. Yoohyeon moved closer to him, and a heavy silence hung in the air, both of them processing the weight of his words. Yoohyeon sat beside him, her gaze softening with a newfound understanding and admiration for the man beside her.
"Othello," she began, her voice gentle yet filled with sincerity, "I had no idea... what you went through, what you sacrificed. You're incredibly brave, you know that?"
Othello met her gaze, a hint of vulnerability flickering in his eyes. His heartbeat spiked causing Yoohyeon's smile to grow a little bit. She loved the feeling she gave that made his heart race, " I wouldn't consider it brave it was just the right thing to do…Thank you though, Yoohyeon. It means a lot to hear you say that."
Yoohyeon reached out, gently placing her hand on his arm. "You're not just a warlord or a hero, Othello. You're a person who faced impossible choices and did what you had to do to protect others. That takes incredible strength and courage."
A small smile tugged at the corners of Othello's lips, touched by Yoohyeon's words. "I never thought of it that way... but hearing you say it... it means everything."
Their eyes locked an unspoken understanding passing between them. In that moment, they shared a profound connection, a bond forged through honesty and vulnerability. Yoohyeon felt her admiration for Othello deepen into something more, a warmth blooming in her chest that she couldn't ignore.
"And you know," Yoohyeon continued, her voice softening, "I'm here for you, Othello. Whatever you need, whatever you're going through... you don't have to face it alone."
Othello's expression softened, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Thank you, Yoohyeon. That means the world to me."
As they sat together in the quiet of Yoohyeon's room, their hands intertwined, a sense of closeness enveloped them. At that moment, they both knew that their bond had deepened into something more than friendship. before anything else could happen the door opened to Yoohyeon's room to Siyeon, Jiu, Sua, Dami, Marcus, Elric, Freyjar, and Ayara. Orion instantly tenses seeing them which Yoohyeon notices she grabs his hand.
Throughout the second half of the trip, Yoohyeon and Orion fell into very different patterns. the new Captain Claw is very standoffish with the two new additions to his crew Orion and Yoohyeon, despite both efforts to make themselves helpful. This captain wasn't fond of Keepers nor Ward Witches so having multiples both on his ship sent him on edge. He believed they discarded their humanity for power. Sadly due to Orion's aversion to being around the other Keepers, he stayed with The captain more often. As the two watched over the port and the ship the captain softened slowly to the Keeper. Whereas most Keepers he had seen ashew their humanity he was surprised to see one cling so desperately to his. it was interesting, to say the least.
Yoohyeon spent a lot of time with Jiu and Siyeon though which meant a lot of time with Freyjar, and Ayara. She was surprised to see their perceptions of Orion. Freyjar harbored Jealousy towards the other Keeper, and Ayara lived in abject terror of him which was surprising since she only had positive things to say about him. so she did her best to avoid mentioning Orion in either's presence. This became difficult because Siyeon and Jiu wanted to know every detail about Orion. So in fielding these questions, she spent a lot of time away from Orion.
this led to him working with the crew a lot more and as their interactions became fleeting and Yoohyeon became more enmeshed with more traditional Keeper and Ward Witch relations she grew more irritable. there was this insincerity that everyone around her head kept her guard. She couldn't be who she was, nor could she say what she wanted as freely as when she was with Orion, and so her clumsiness started to plague her again, Jiu covered her and helped her but while it was familiar it wasn't what she wanted. she often found herself saying in her head "Orion would have told her she messed up here and given her his big dumb smile telling her it would be alright."
Eventually, the stress of being perfect got to her and she lashed at Sua. She messed up a basic spell that made Sua laugh and Yoohyeon just snapped.
"Unnie don't you have anything better to do? I mean come on I barely messed up, besides haven't you also messed up this spell as well." She snapped. Surprised Sua looked at Yoohyeon her magic lines were changing and growing.
In a calculated move Jiu told Yoohyeon to find Orion, She wanted to ask him about something. Yoohyeon groaned "Can't you do it yourself unnie?" Luckily Orion just happened to be in between chores as he became as indispensable to Claw as he had been with the previous captain. He saw Yoohyeon and waved. Yoohyeon saw him and for a moment her burden eased. her heart rate slowed to a reasonable pace and each other Ward Witch knew what to do.
"Oh Orion how are you?" Dami asked
"I am good Dami just enjoying the little free time I have. The Captain needed to have a crew meeting and gave me some time off."
"Why are you helping the crew so much?" Freyjar questioned annoyed.
"Because I don't like spending time with y'all honestly," Orion said bluntly.
Jiu, Dami, Elric, and Marcus laughed. Yoohyeon pouted. then got up
"Well since you're being such a dick I'll leave." She said.
"Yoon wait I wanted to ask you something."
"Oh, now you want to talk to me?" Yoohyeon said
"Yes I miss you and I want to spend time with you." Orion made sure to emphasize you with Yoohyeon. She didn't catch on to this as she was operating under the "I don't like spending time with y'all"
"Oh really just a couple of seconds ago you were eager to say how little you enjoyed time with us all."
"Yes, All emphasis on all. because minus Freyjar, Ayara, and (Orion looks over to Sua who licks her lips at him with a seductive look. Orion points at Sua). I enjoy spending time with you all individually." Yoohyeon knew that Sua was teasing the poor keeper, she liked boys who flustered easily and Orion flustered very easily. So she was constantly teasing him, but in that moment of the weight of being the crown jewel of Dreamcatcher's coven, it was just another annoyance.
"Gosh, I can't believe I ever liked you... you're such a dick. you know what Maybe Freyjar is right about you. you're mediocre at everything so you try to hide it by busying yourself."
The air shifted. Orion tensed. Every Ward Witch heard his heart rate spike and then go dangerously low, this was the lowest it's ever been. Orion tried very much to see Yoohyeon's perspective but he was seeing red. he chose his next actions extremely meticulously. He slowed his breathing and took 5 deep breaths before leaving. Yoohyeon swore she saw black lines of magic manifest on his body for a moment as a bizarre monster crawled around his left shoulder.
"Go ahead leave, and be forgotten because who wants a hero? Heroes are childish." Yoohyeon spat.
The air shifted again and the temperature dropped. Freyjar smirked as he made eye contact with Orion. his plan of feeding Yoohyeon all his drivel finally pays off. The stoic mask she wore cracked.
"You take that back," Orion said. his voice shifted into an active that was unfamiliar to all present. Red hot tears streamed down Orion's eyes, as he turned to face Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon's surprise was palpable. She took a step back and saw the emotions swirling within Orion, and her heart softened. She also realized she pushed him a bit too far.
"Orion I am so sorry.
Freyjar's laugh drowned out her apology
"No, No Yoohyeon. You almost had him. he was this close to breaking down like the sad man-child he is. Don't apologize for the real world is a vicious and vile place, with no place for heroes." Freyjar said. Orion's Stoic mask broke. he turned to him.
"Everyone looks down on me. Everyone always points to my naivety, saying it's a problem that I am too childish when I live in this hellscape of a Galaxy ruled over by people like you. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you." Orion repeated.
Before anyone could react He warped to Freyjar grabbed him by his collar and threw him and every one in another warp to the arena. He summons his War spade and makes a room closing around Him and Freyjar. Yoohyeon knew of his Claustrophobia and how it drove him mad which would make reaching out to Orion that much harder. Knowing this she began clawing at the barrier. When that didn't work she began chanting spells, but in her stress and panic she kept making tiny mistakes ruining the efficacy of her spells and strengthening the barrier that Orion had created
"you say I am not special. well, let's play a game. I am going to hit you until I get tired or you stop me. if you die eh, if not cool. Begin." as soon as he said that the room began closing triggering Orion's Claustrophobia. His rage compounded by the panic created a unique combination of desperation that pushed him to fight as hard as possible. Yoohyeon knew she had to stop this as this was all her fault. Orion closed in on Freyjar who summoned his sword (named Summer) and made an excellent lunge, that was easily dodged by Orion. Orion raised his weapon and with one mighty swing, he swung the flat side of his war spade.
a sickening crunch could be heard as Freyjar hit the floor after being hit by Orion's weapon. The Ward Witches understanding that Orion was so far gone broke through the barrier *barely with their combined power. Orion turned to face them as they encircled him. Their faces were filled with fear and terror but also pity. Pity that drove Orion to higher depths of rage. the faces replaced themselves with others who held similar looks in the past. their words rang out to him
"Violent tendencies, Rigid personality. An immature child." these were all phrases that their looks said to him, but Orion was done playing by the rules of a world he deemed beneath him at that moment. His mask of Stoicism shattered beyond repair. Now everyone saw who he was under all the calm, under all the kindness, all the amicability; A boy forced to grow into a world that hated him and what he valued, and that weighed heavily on everyone present. Especially Yoohyeon it broke her heart that she of all people was to push him this far.
"Don't you dare look at me like that? You all wanted the monster you tell tales of the Great Demon Dog of Eldora. You created this," Orion yelled
Then silence hung in the air as his proclamation rang true. He was a monster the systems that they all believed in created someone who needed to stop him, and Yoohyeon stepped up.
"Orion I am so sorry." She said with tears in her eyes Yoohyeon's apology hung in the air, heavy with regret as she watched Orion's tears fall. The weight of her words hit her with a force she hadn't anticipated, and for the first time, she saw the vulnerability beneath his stoic exterior.
Orion's response was immediate, his voice trembling with emotion as he struggled to regain his composure. "You... you hurt me, Yoohyeon," he managed to say, his words choked with pain. "I thought... I thought you understood me, but..." His voice trailed off, lost in the turmoil of his emotions.
Yoohyeon felt a pang of guilt pierced her heart as she witnessed the raw anguish in Orion's eyes. She had never seen him like this before, stripped of his usual calm demeanor, and it shook her to the core. With a shaky breath, she stepped closer to him, reaching out to gently touch his arm.
"Orion, I didn't mean... I didn't mean to hurt you," she whispered, her voice trembling with remorse. "I was... I was angry, and I lashed out without thinking. But that's no excuse for what I said. I know you're not... you're not mediocre. You're extraordinary, and I... I was wrong to doubt you." she grabbed Orion and pulled him into a hug. he collapsed in her arms.
"Why does everyone hate me?" he asked vulnerably. "Why do they push me to hurt them?" he asked. Yoohyeon held him as he cried The other Ward Witches gave them space to not interfere. Orion was bested, not by might but by emotion. "I try to help and be a Hero like Z, or Saber, or Val-Zod, or Orion and they all look at me like I am wrong and I should fall into their ways," Orion said through cold tears. Yoohyeon held him close as the others left. Eventually, they traversed back to Orion's room, and for the first time in weeks, Yoohyeon felt safe. she and Orion spent the rest of the day together holding each other close. their bodies making up for lost time and connection as their minds processed everything. Orion also never dismissed his war axe. Yoohyeon noticed this and decided to take her next step in understanding him.
"You cling to your war spade why?" Yoohyeon asked
"It makes me feel safe. Lorgar made it for me after I lost one of the many swords that Keepers usually wield. Often my strength is hard to withhold so the dainty long swords that other Keepers wield often chip and shatter under my grasp. He built this for me using Materials from across my solar system, and he named it Apokolips after keeping in line with my name." Othello explained
Yoohyeon nodded understanding which led to her next line of questions "You mentioned your name came from a comic character what was his story?" Yoohyeon asked eager to see more of Othello, and less of Orion for today. She also loved the way Orion told his stories. he was always so expressive.
"So in all of DC comics, there is one villain that stands above all. his name is Darkseid. He wields the omeaga effect a powerful bevy of abilities that make him the most dangerous villain in the universe, but he has a son who in a calculated move by both parties to gain intel on the other Darkseid gives his son Orion to the peace-loving and heroic High Father of New Genesis. the high father does the same with his son. This leads to a Villain being raised by a hero and a hero being raised by a villain. Orion despite his nature becomes one of the greatest heroes in the DC universe, and it is made all the more grandiose by his refusal to give in to his darker impulses." Othello explains
Yoohyeon smiled and, said, "Do you have darker impulses, Mr. Hero?"
"Yes, I do. Every day I see the weakness and folly in those around me, and I wonder to myself if it would be easier if I ruled. If I trampled over the old war and made a new one but better, but I am reminded that many people wouldn't benefit from that cruel a ruler and so I remain steadfast in heroism." Othello replied.
"So where does the name Apokolips come from in Orion's story? why is that significant." Yoohyeon asked.
"Oh, I forgot Apokolips is the planet Orion was born on," Othello replies. Yoohyeon laughs in comfort as she cuddles closer to Othello.
"I've missed you so much," she said.
"I have as well," Othello replied
"Why didn't you make time for me then?" Yoohyeon asked skeptical
"I didn't want to get in the way of you and those close to you," Othello answered, and Yoohyeon turned to him.
"You're cavity-inducingly sweet you know that right?" Yoohyeon replies
"that is a new phrase but I'll keep it in mind," Othello replies.
“I always forget you're not from Earth, I guess the bronze metallic skin and glowing runes should have been a dead giveaway.” Yoohyeon chuckled
“Wait really?” Othello questioned
“Yeah, your English is consistently clear easy to distinguish the words. How did you get so good?” Yoohyeon asked with genuine intrigue
“Honestly reading comics and watching Superhero videos from Earth. It gave a path of translation to a lot of ideas and concepts I had but didn't have the tools to express, all of the vibrant colors create a contrast from a majority of Earth’s content being almost monotone. Like so many of the stories told boil down to the same thing, and I have noticed at least in the hero genre of storytelling they go above and beyond in all facets so the stories pop more. I've read both George Orwell and Walter Simonson and I remember more of the latter’s work than the former.” Othello explained
“Oh really. Do you have any of the comics you read?” Yoohyeon asked. Othello nodded. “Can you read me one?” Yoohyeon asked. Othello nodded again as he got up and grabbed book one of Orion by Walter Simpson, and he began to read it to her.
Tales of Orion's Challenge spread quickly over the coming weeks. The Captain urges to avoid bringing any of it up but does chuckle as he was quite annoyed with Keeper Freyjar so having someone take him down a peg made him smile.
Eventually, reports reached outside of the ship, and a conflict resolution meeting was forced upon all of the Ward Witches and the Codex Keepers.
The 12 coven Mothers and three Codex Masters oversaw the meeting through Video call. Lady Sunshine was surprised to see Orion among those present. Orion pleasantly waved at her Lorgar and greeted her with a bit more enthusiasm. It was then that it all clicked for Lady Sunshine and who she had set her apprentice up with.
Lorgar knowing that his apprentice wasn't just fighting people wildly asked one question,
"Keeper Orion. What happened."
Orion explained it as he recorded ( he left out all of his emotions on the matter which was noted by everyone present), but as soon as they got to the part where Yoohyeon started attacking heroism. Everyone who knew Orion Knew that was what sent him over the edge.
"Yoohyeon how could you?" Lady Sunshine interjected when Orion explained Yoohyeon's part.
Uncomfortable with seeing Yoohyeon yell at Orion was quick to take the blame.
"No Lady Sunshine the fault is mine. I neglected my duties as a Keeper to stay in contact with my assigned Ward Witch leaving the air for tension despite external factors the fault of Keeper Freyjar's injuries are all mine."
Lady Sunshine was left speechless (a rare occurrence) and Lorgar swelled with pride and knowing. Orion's demeanor and presence were all there. Lorgar also noticed the way he looked at Yoohyeon and the closeness the two displayed at the beginning of the meeting. Orion was smitten and protecting his paramour. Lorgar laughed internally. What was concerning was the revelation that it took 5 Ward Witches to break his barrier. His powers were exponentially increasing again. A fact that was not lost on the other Codex Masters.
"What do you mean barely cracked the barrier?" Lady Moonlight asked
"My powers have been volatile often increasing their efficacies in moments of high stress. So it took the combined efforts of the 5 present Ward Witches to break the Simple barrier I made." Orion answered a look of terror went through the Ward Witches Council
“But why use your phobias as a means to secure a victory?” lady Moonlight asked curious
“Because I'd rather die than lose,” Orion explained
“Wait what is your name Keeper?” lady Twilight asked
“Orion Lady Twilight.” Orion acknowledged. A look of recognition crossed over the weathered and wrinkled face of the elder Ward Witch.
"Wait you're Pako the scourge of Theros? Aren't you boy?" Lady Twilight asked. Orion gritted his teeth and nodded.
"Well no wonder you nearly killed him. You know you're classified as a weapon of mass destruction by the federation." Lady Twilight reminded, and this changed the atmosphere of the meeting. "I don't know why the federation caters to you. You are a verified world-ending threat with the temperament of a child," Orion's response sends chills throughout the room.
"The same reason I let the Federation get away with all of its wrongs going through the process of addressing it would assure both of our destruction, but make no mistake. I am always aware of how you all see. I am a threat and I will always be as long as I stay true to who I am. My response let me be and I'll let you be." Lady Twilight didn't appreciate Orion's flippant tone but she respected that he stood for with spine unlike so many in the federation.
"Proudly displaying that Eldorian Backbone I have heard so much about. I may not like you but I respect it. Take care of Sua for me."
"Oh, you're Sua's mentor that explains a lot. You have my word to the best of my ability I will protect everyone you place under me." After that, the meeting was over with the leaders understanding that it was a simple misunderstanding and that at least one adult was handling it.
after the meeting, Yoohyeon and Othello sat alone in his room. He was reading Orion to her and she was cradled in his arms and body listening to his voice ease her but she just kept feeling this uncomfortable heat well inside her. She constantly was shifting trying to get comfortable but couldn't. Yoohyeon's and Othello's feelings for each other have reached a fever pitch, and their bodies are fed up with their minds
"Hey, Othello," Yoohyeon said.
Othello looks to Yoohyeon and she kisses him with an intense fervor. this kiss ignites a fire deep within the two. when it breaks Yoohyeon teases Othello when she feels his erection poke her.
"Well someone is excited." She comes in a sexy voice. Othello moans.
"Well yeah, have you seen how hot you are." Othello challenged
Yoohyeon smiles a rosy blush crossing her face. "Oh baby Flattery will get you everywhere." she goes in for another kiss this time with more passion. Othello's and Yoohyeon's tongues meet and dance while they kiss. Neither looks for dominance but dances with a willing partner.
Yoohyeon smiled as she gripped tightly onto Othello. Their kiss broke the built tension of the last 4 months 1 week and three days. They break this kiss, and the solid foundation of love and adoration they felt for each other quickly melts into liquid desire and lust. the two tear off the clothes of each other, and go back to kissing. Yoohyeon can barely contain her eagerness as she stares into Othello's eyes she can tell he feels the same. She goes back in for another kiss as the two lovers paw at the other's naked forms. Hands intermingle and dance with bodies as lovers begin to familiarize themselves with each other in this intimate moment. Yoohyeon breaks their kiss and looks into Othello's eyes. Yoohyeon nestles closer to Othello tentatively, her heart pounding with a mixture of nerves and longing. the stress of all this tension she felt being by him washed over her along with the overwhelming safety she felt. She reached out, gently cupping his face in her hands, drawing him closer until their lips were mere inches apart.
Their eyes met, a silent exchange of emotions passing between them. And then, unable to resist any longer, they closed the distance, their lips meeting in a tender kiss.
Time seemed to stand still as they lost themselves in the moment, the world around them fading into insignificance. For Yoohyeon, it was a moment of clarity, a realization of the depth of her feelings for Othello.
As they broke apart, breathless and flushed with emotion, Yoohyeon gazed into Othello's eyes, her voice trembling with vulnerability.
"Othello," she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "I... I love you."
The words hung in the air, the weight of them echoing in the silence that followed. Yoohyeon's heart raced as she waited for his response, her entire being consumed by the intensity of her confession.
Othello's eyes widened in surprise, his own emotions swirling beneath the surface. He reached out, taking Yoohyeon's hand in his, a gentle smile playing at the corners of his lips.
"Yoohyeon," he said softly, his voice filled with warmth and affection. "I love you too."
And at that moment, amidst the chaos and uncertainty of their world, they found solace in each other's arms, their love a beacon of hope in the darkness. As they began to kiss again Othello began tracing Yoohyeon’s tattoos. Yoohyeon giggled as she was tickled by Othello’s surprisingly soft hands. As his hands travel around her body Othello’s psionics begin to unravel around the two in a mirroring way to Yoohyeon’s magic (small aside: typically Psionics and mages aren't supposed to consummate relationships under the effects of their special abilities but for how ingrained Yoohyeon and Othello’s abilities are to their sense of self it's hard to separate their powers from themselves) passionate and fiery crimson energy and the physical manifestation of Othello’s psionics crashes into Yoohyeon’s cool sea foam green arcane weave. As their energies intermingle the two begin copulating. Yooyheon sinks onto Othello’s cock and moans. When she adjusts to him residing within her she opens her eyes to see him breathless under her. She smiles as she begins to ride him. In hopes of reciprocity, Othello meets her halfway with thrusts of his own into her sex. Yoohyeon moans as Othello fills her up. She watches as Othello watches carefully trying to ascertain her reactions and make her feel as pleased as possible. Yoohyeon smiles and puts his hands on her ample ass.
“Give it to me.” Yoohyeon encourages and so begins the slow and deep methodical thrusts of Othello. Eager to please he plunges in her pussy and slowly pulls out 75% of the way before plunging in again, and again. As he thrust into her he slightly changed angles to see what Yoohyeon liked. On the fifth repetition, he found it and Yoohyeon screamed. “They're right there,” she yelled as he hit her G-spot. Having a greenlight Othello picked up his pace while reaching down to her clit. Extending his finger he traced figure eights around the bud. This combination sent Yoohyeon reeling. Her eyes rolled back and she moaned.
“Keep going. I'm so close,” she screamed excitedly Othello obliged and picked up Yoohyeon and increased his pace. The change in angle allowed Othello to reach further into Yoohyeon who smiled as their faces became even as he lifted her up and down. Yoohyeon lost herself to pleasure as she was ravaged by Othello’s rod. Eventually, she couldn't take it, and her orgasm tore through her tight frame.
“Oh God.” She yelled before cumming all over Othello’s cock. Othello continued his work on Yoohyeon until her walls contracted in such a way that seemed to milk him almost, but what took him over the edge was Yoohyeon saying. “Please cum in me. I need it I need to feel you all of you.” her words sent metering to his orgasm, and he began to paint her walls white with his seed. Yoohyeon groaned as her sex only grew tighter. After what seemed like hours the couple’s bodies calmed down.
Yoohyeon spoke, ”So who's your favorite member of my coven now?” she teased.
“Aish.” Othello groaned but was quick to smile as he pulled her close.
In the coming weeks, Yoohyeon completely divested herself from her Coven friends and spent all of her time with Orion, and they fell into familiar patterns of helping the crew and Captain. The crew appreciated Yooyheon’s help immensely as being able to instantly fix numerous problems at one time was such a relief. She spent less time stressing about appearing perfect and poise and just living her clumsiness also faded. The others kept their distance especially Freyjar who was reeling over the fact that 5 Coven Bound Ward Witches had to save him from someone he deemed as lesser. Especially since Orion was given no consequence for his actions. He was scolded by his Codex Master for riling up the young man. The worst insult (minus the cracked jaw) was that Orion apologized. He considered his actions beneath himself the nerve, of him. Freyjar would mend his wounded pride and get his retribution. As tensions simmered aboard the ship, Freyjar seethed with resentment in the confines of his quarters. His bruised jaw throbbed with every pulse of anger, a constant reminder of his humiliation at the hands of Orion. But Freyjar was not one to suffer such indignity lightly.
Gazing into the reflection of his own anger-filled eyes in the mirror, Freyjar formulated his plan for revenge. He knew he couldn't confront Orion directly; the Codex Keeper's growing influence among the crew made him untouchable. No, Freyjar would have to be more cunning.
With a smirk curling his lips, Freyjar began to reach out to like-minded crew members, whispering words of dissent against Orion's leadership. He found willing ears among those who harbored their grievances, promising them power and prestige in exchange for their allegiance.
Meanwhile, Yoohyeon found herself caught in the middle of the growing tension. Her loyalty to Orion was unwavering, but she couldn't ignore the undercurrent of discord spreading throughout the crew. Sensing trouble brewing, she tried to mediate, but her efforts seemed futile against the rising tide of animosity.
One evening, as the crew gathered for their nightly meal, Freyjar made his move. With calculated precision, he subtly turned the conversation against Orion, planting seeds of doubt and discontent among the crew. Orion arrived at the meal late with Yoohyeon. The couple was surprised to see the multitude of glares presented to them.
Caught off guard by the sudden shift in the atmosphere, Yoohyeon watched helplessly as the situation escalated. She knew she had to act quickly to prevent further conflict, but the rift between her crew and her friends seemed to widen with each passing moment.
As tensions reached a breaking point, Yoohyeon made a split-second decision. Stepping forward, she confronted Freyjar, her voice filled with determination.
"Freyjar, this ends now. We're all on the same side here, and we need to work together if we're going to survive out here in the vastness of space."
Freyjar's gaze hardened, but Yoohyeon held her ground, refusing to back down. Behind her, Orion watched with a mixture of concern and gratitude, realizing just how much Yoohyeon meant to him. Orion smiled. Orion had been doing a lot of that lately with Yoohyeon he noticed. In hopes of de-escalating the tension, he made a silent gesture for himself and Yoohyeon to leave. So they did.
Watching Orion flee swelled Freyjar with pride as the two left the cafeteria with their tails between their legs.
As the expedition came to a close the tensions reduced as well. All was quiet that was until the last day.
As they were doing the paperwork and needed documentation, to wrap up their duties for the last 8 months A blip happened.
Arriving at the spaceport a little late due to an asteroid field’s interference the group was greeted not by federation members but by Pirates The Dreadbeard Pirates to be exact. They were the most dangerous and massive pirate organization in this region of the galaxy and expanding. They were ruthless and often left no survivors. So when their ship was boarded and Captain Claw was killed there was only one person to look to as a leader.
“So who's the Captain of this ship?” Dreadbeard said as his blade left Claw’s chest. Orion stood motionless as the remaining crew pointed to him.
“Aye, a codex Keeper and a Captain that's a rare sight.”
“Well, I just got promoted. You just killed the Captain.” Orion responded
Dreadbeard laughed “Fair Fair. Hopefully, you'll be more reasonable than he was.
“No I'm worse, but I am more sporting. So here is my play. I don't want to have to clean up and do paperwork to fix this mess so we’ll vacate, and we will forget this ever happened. I'll come up with a legitimate reason as to why Captain Claw was dead because otherwise, I'll kill you and anyone who stands by you.” Orion answered
Dreadbeard smiled as he raised his sword but before he could even mount an attack he noticed a cold feeling in his chest. He looked down to see a spade connected by a psionic chain thrown from Orion. He looked up
“I feel cold,” he said as he fell to the ground. Orion turned to the rest of the pirates. As the pirates watched their captain collapse to the ground, a hushed silence fell over the ship dock. Orion's eyes bore into each of them, his expression unreadable yet filled with an unmistakable intensity.
"Now, here's how it's going to be," Orion declared, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. "You have two choices: you can leave this spaceport peacefully, or you can join your captain on the ground."
The pirates exchanged nervous glances, unsure of how to respond to this unexpected turn of events. They had expected a fight, a display of dominance from their captain, but they had not anticipated the swift and decisive action that Orion had just taken.
One by one, the pirates began to lower their weapons, their bravado crumbling in the face of Orion's unwavering resolve. They knew better than to challenge a Codex Keeper, especially one who had just dispatched their fearsome captain with such ease.
"Alright, we're leaving," one of the pirates muttered, his voice tinged with defeat as he gestured for his comrades to follow suit.
Orion watched as the pirates retreated to their ship, their tails between their legs. He knew that this encounter was far from over, that the Dreadbeard Pirates would undoubtedly seek retribution for their fallen captain. But for now, he had bought the crew precious time to regroup and strategize their next move.
As the last of the pirates disappeared into the darkness of the spaceport, Orion turned to his crew, his gaze unwavering.
"Prepare for departure," he commanded his voice firm yet tinged with a hint of urgency. "We need to get out of here before they come back with reinforcements."
With a sense of purpose, the crew sprang into action, their movements swift and coordinated as they prepared to leave the spaceport behind and face whatever challenges awaited them in the vast expanse of the galaxy. As they set course for their next destination, Orion couldn't help but feel a sense of annoyance building within him, knowing that they were close to being finished only to make things exponentially messier. He groaned as they changed course to Terra.
This led to The Dreadnaught arriving back to Terra 45 minutes later. Upon arrival, everyone dispersed except for Yoohyeon and Orion who due to being captain had to do closing paperwork. After that Yoohyeon followed Orion to his post-expedition debrief where he dropped off this expedition’s codex. After that, the couple was finally free.
Othello now off duty stood next to Yoohyeon and asked “So dear what do you want to do now?”
Yoohyeon smiled, “It doesn't matter as long as you're with me we can do whatever.”
“Yoon I meant in the short term.” Yoohyeon burst into an embarrassed smile. Oh well, let's get some food then.” Othello gave a thumbs-up and followed his paramour
As they walked through the bustling streets of Terra, Yoohyeon, and Othello were enveloped in the lively atmosphere of the planet's capital. Neon signs flickered overhead, casting colorful reflections on the pavement below, while the sound of chatter and laughter filled the air.
"Hey, how about that place?" Yoohyeon suggested, pointing to a cozy-looking café nestled between two towering skyscrapers.
Othello glanced at the café and nodded in agreement. "Looks good to me," he replied with a smile.
They entered the café and found a table by the window, where they could watch the hustle and bustle of the city while enjoying their meal. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, mingling with the tantalizing scent of baked goods.
As they perused the menu, Yoohyeon couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over her. Despite the chaos and danger they often faced in their line of work, moments like these were what made it all worthwhile – simple, everyday moments spent with the person she loved.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly as they waited for their food to arrive, touching on everything from their favorite memories to their hopes and dreams for the future. As they shared laughter and stories, Yoohyeon couldn't shake the feeling that she was exactly where she was meant to be – by Othello's side, exploring the vast and wondrous galaxy together.
Yoohyeon smiled, her heart full of love for the man sitting across from her. "And I wouldn't change a single moment of it," she replied, reaching across the table to gently squeeze his hand.
As they savored their meal and each other's company, Yoohyeon couldn't help but feel grateful for the journey that had brought them together – a journey filled with adventure, danger, and, most importantly, love. And as they lingered in the café, lost in their little world, Yoohyeon knew that their story was far from over – it was only just beginning.
As they sat together in the cozy warmth of their shared quarters, Yoohyeon leaned into Othello’s embrace, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. She cherished these quiet moments they spent together, wrapped up in each other’s arms, sharing stories and memories.
“And that’s it, the story of how we first met,” Othello recounted, closing his journal with a satisfied smile. Yoohyeon couldn’t help but smile in return, her heart swelling with affection for the man beside her. She still hadn’t tired of the way he told stories, especially ones as significant as their own.
Sitting up beside Othello, Yoohyeon flashed him a toothy grin, which he mirrored with a happy smile of his own.
“Two years and still going strong. Impressive,” she remarked, her voice filled with warmth.
“Yeah, it’s been a crazy ride. We’ve outlasted Jiu and Frey, which was a surprise to me since we fight way more than those two ever did,” Othello corroborated, a hint of amusement in his tone.
Yoohyeon chuckled, her gaze softening as she looked at Othello. Despite the ups and downs they had faced, their relationship had only grown stronger over time. And as they sat together, basking in the glow of their shared love, Yoohyeon knew that there was nowhere else she’d rather be than by Othello’s side.
Yoohyeon laughed, “Well when fight we arrive at some resolutions instead of letting resentment build, and our makeup sex is better” she stated bluntly taking a page from Othello’s book
“Fair.” Othello acquiesced
Yoohyeon smiled as she began stroking him again. Othello smiled before getting up and lining himself with Yoohyeon. He plunges into her familiar and comforting cavern.
“Oh yes,” Yoohyeon mewls as he plunges into her. As Yoohyeon's playful touches grew more intense, Othello found himself lost in the moment, the warmth of her affection enveloping him like a comforting embrace. But as her hands grazed his skin, he felt a sudden tension in the air, a subtle shift that brought his senses back to the present.
With a gentle touch, Yoohyeon's fingers brushed against the bandages that concealed Othello's hidden secret. In an instant, the fabric gave way, revealing the intricate black lines of magic etched across his skin. The air crackled with energy as Yoohyeon's eyes widened in surprise, her gaze drawn to the mesmerizing patterns that danced across Othello's flesh.
"Othello, what... what is this?" Yoohyeon's voice trembled with a mixture of dwindling lust, awe, and apprehension, her fingers tracing the contours of the arcane markings with hesitant curiosity.

So, we all agree that last Dreamcatcher comeback is a hit, right? From the title track to the b-sides to the concept is all incredible.
Another thing we agree is that they look always more hot and sexy in every comeback.
I mean, Yoohyeon never lose a chance to flex her abs and this blue hair on her looks incredible.
JiU has to be one of the most underrated beauties in the industry and this look with tattoos makes me go kinda feral.
Gahyeon has not came here to play: face card never declined, especially her lips, so plump and soft.
And in the end, Sua: her body is bodying and the tease with her boobs... just shsjahsvh😵‍💫🥴

bang it on me, shatter (fem! reader, vampire au)
a/n: happy yooh day! this is a 2yoo fic but shush it's fine :) this one's especially for my girls and gays - y'know who you are <3 fun fact: I rewrote this fic three times, which means I have plenty of material if people are interested in a sequel.
tw: fem!reader (gay vampires rule!!!), vampires, blood, alcohol, drunk!reader, like one suggestive comment, reader has a hangover, implied death and gore. (can you tell I watched wwdits before I wrote this)
summary: gay vampires, that's the plot. you have your share of dirty little secrets, the biggest being that your two lovers are murderous vampires. luckily for them, you don't give a shit!
♡ Masterlist ♡
Tumblr media
Quiet. Calm. Serene. Peaceful.
You preferred your nights to be all of those things. Although living with vampires could get chaotic, most nights were spent cuddled between your two lovers. Yoohyeon would wrap an arm around your waist while attempting to organize matters for the next few days. Dami, on the other hand, would place a hand on your thigh while reading a book or going through some records.
Tonight, however, would not be one of those nights.
You couldn’t even make it into the library before Dami’s familiar, Kazuha, storms into your room.
“Ma’am, your presence is requested in the front foyer. We have guests.” She plays with her hair for a moment before you rise from your armchair.
“Guests or guests?” You softly ask before brushing past Kazuha to grab an outfit for the night.
“…guests.”
You pause before grabbing your second most formal outfit.
I’m less attached to this one if blood gets on it.
“Tell Ms. Lee and Ms. Kim I’ll be down after I get dressed.” You wave off Kazuha, who bows before leaving.
“Make sure to have formal wear arranged for you and the rest of the staff. It’s going to be a special night.”
~
You lightly play with your hair as you quickly descend the stairs. It’s been a while since you’ve had guests - the girls usually went out and hunted when they were hungry. You could guess that they’d either gotten lazy or lucky with their food.
Given the surprise of the five women in front of you when you came to greet them, you went with luck.
“Good evening, ladies,” You pause before bowing, “what brings you to our humble estate?”
One of the ladies, a taller girl with black hair, answers.
“We needed shelter for the night. A bad storm rolled through and left us stranded.”
Definitely lucky.
“I welcome weary travelers. I can lead you to some spare bedrooms so you can change before dinner.” You calmly say before turning on your heel and heading to your left.
You hear five sets of feet follow behind as you point out some of the rooms.
“If you need anything before you get called for dinner, there are servants floating around to help.” You direct a few nearby servants to usher the girls into their rooms.
The servants are well-trained as sneaky hands find papers and treasures before five doors slam in harmony.
You quickly collect the important documents and grab a few jewels for the familiars before you head to the study.
~
“Kazuha, Yunjin,” You call out to the two women in front of the study, “take these and put them on your outfits tonight.”
“We can’t-“ Kazuha says before Yunjin snatches half of the jewels for herself.
“Speak for yourself, Zuha, and thank you.” Yunjin stuffs the jewels in her pocket, “they’re waiting inside for you.”
“Thank you.” Kazuha mumbles before gently grabbing her half of the treasure from you.
They both step aside as the doors in front of you open to reveal the study with the two occupants you were expecting.
Yoohyeon smiles as she spots you first.
“Did you find anything important, my dear?” She asks before you hand her two sets of papers.
“Only the best for my favorite people.” You press a soft kiss to her face before she pulls you in for a quick kiss on the lips.
“A seamstress and a musician… it seems we do have a crew of merry fellows.” Yoohyeon says as she skims the paper.
“No hunters?” Dami asks before you sit next to her and hand her one of the papers.
“One, but she doesn’t have any notable achievements or accolades. Could be a front since the other two don’t have any listed occupations or skills.” You toss the papers aside before grabbing Dami’s arm.
“Anything interesting?”
“Same story as the rest - family history in vampiric hunting, traveling with weapons, but you’re right, darling, everything else is spotless.” Dami grabs her book with one hand before setting aside the other paper.
You tidy up the desk in front of you before Dami grabs your hand.
“You look nice,” She quickly eyes you before going back to your book, “but hopefully you won’t mind that outfit getting a bit messy.”
~
The servants are in a flurry to finish the final preparations for dinner - dinner for one human and two vampires was easy enough, but six humans and two vampires? That’d be enough to drive any chef mad, especially on a couple hours’ notice.
You had to keep up appearances, for now, so eight meals would have to do.
That way, everyone had leftovers for a few days.
You take a seat on the small, simple chair that sits in-between the two grandest chairs that always were in the dining room as five more sit on the other side of the long table. A beautiful, silky red tablecloth sits on the grand table as dishes appear on the table as servants rush to and from the kitchen.
After the feast is set out, everyone scampers away except for Kazuha and Yunjin. Yunjin is holding a bottle of red wine, dressed in her finest, as Kazuha holds a bottle of “red wine” in a beautiful black dress with the new addition of a shiny golden necklace. Both girls sit on the short end of the table, far away from the door on the other side.
The first people through the grand mahogany doors are the guests, all five of them at once. You’re able to profile each of the girls - their travel documents were enough to go off of. JiU, the taller, black-hair seamstress, takes a seat at the leftmost section of the table. Next to her was SuA - one of the two girls who didn’t have any occupational description, but her light-brown hair sits gently on her shoulders in radiant curls. The girl in the middle - Handong, the hunter - sits confidently in the middle. Her eyes challenge yours as you, as innocently as possible, toss the paperwork towards her.
“They fell out of your coats when you were rushed into your rooms,” is the bare bones excuse you give.
“It’s alright.” The red-haired girl, Siyeon, offers you a smooth smile before grabbing the papers and redistributing them. The Songbird, the girl whose voice could calm anyone from a mile away.
The last girl is completely silent, but the pink-hair shines bright in the dark, moody room. Gahyeon, the second girl with so little information with her name, doesn’t sit until SuA sends her a pointed glare. Gahyeon immediately falls into her chair with a sharp thud.
Their eyes follow you up and down, like an animal hunting their prey. They’re trained killers, but not better killers than the two women you live with. These five girls have killed with knives or guns or poison, but they haven’t ripped apart another human with their bare hands. Safe to say, it would be a bloody, violent night.
~
Dinner was quiet and much less brutal than you were expecting. The five girls had a brilliant spread in front of them, enough to momentarily distract them from their goal. A meal is a way to anyone’s heart, but it also pushes their mind into a state of comfort.
Enough for them to not notice the extra liquid that was mixed with the wine. Not anything that would kill them, but enough to disarm them for a while.
You had plenty of wine - the less you remembered about tonight, the better. You weren’t black-out drink, but there was a noticeable flush on your face.
“Dear, I think it’s best if you rest for a while, hm?” Yoohyeon’s gentle hand on your right shoulder makes you look into her eyes.
“Wine’s good.” You mumble into your glass that Dami snatches from your hand. “You’re don't know how to have fun.”
“We can have fun later-“ Yoohyeon teases as you giggle.
“Yoohyeon, you flirt~” You try to smack her shoulder, but you miss it completely.
“We’ll talk in the morning, love, you need rest.” Dami sets your glass aside before helping you out of the chair. “You don’t need to remember what’s about to happen, but just in case, you should be far away. Yunjin, Kazuha!”
“Miss Lee,” Kazuha answers as she and Yunjin approach, “How can we help?”
“Take her upstairs, but not to the bedroom. You should be able to get her to the farther rooms in the east wing... preferably the one that’s the least dusty, if possible.”
“Got it.” Yunjin says as she places one of your arms on her shoulder.
Kazuha does the same with your other arm, and with one drunken foot in front of the other, you make your way to the east wing in order to rest.
~
The next time you regain consciousness, it’s completely dark outside. You’re sober, but the killer headache tells you that you had a bit too much fun last night. Luckily, a gentle hand combs through your hair as someone else places a glass of water and some acetaminophen next to your night stand.
“How do you feel?” Dami calmly asks as Yoohyeon cuddles into your side.
“ ‘m tired.” You mumble into your pillow - perhaps suffocating yourself would be more pleasurable than this headache?
Dami pulls the pillow back a few centimeters for your comfort (and safety, but she doesn’t know that).
Yoohyeon lightly grabs your sides before trying to erase the nonexistent space between you two.
“Yes, Yooh?”
“I love you~” She sings into your ear as you roll around and look her in the eyes.
“Is the kitchen a mess?” You deadpan as she nervously laughs.
“Would you be mad if I said yes?” Yoohyeon gives you a guilty smile before looking at Dami for help.
“We’re cleaning it up because we gave the servants a few days off. They put in a lot of last minute work that they deserve to be respected and paid for.” Dami explains as you lightly hit Yoohyeon’s shoulder.
“Ow.” She grumbles as you flick her shoulder again. “Can’t believe I let you disrespect me.”
“Move over, I want Dami to sit next to me.” You ask with as much sweetness you can muster as Yoohyeon reluctantly scoots over.
You move as well, but not before taking the medicine and a healthy sip of water.
You lightly pat the blanket as Dami takes a seat next to you. She gently grabs your hand while continuing to comb through your hair with the other.
Somehow, you managed to find your slice of heaven among beasts, the worst of the worst, but you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Not when they’d live and die for you and for your honor.

Propose | Kim Yoohyeon x fem! reader
Warnings: kidnapping, manipulation, cursing, mentions of drinking alcohol, brawl
Genre: Angst with a happy ending, a bit of comedy here and there, Mafia AU
Wordcount: ~ 4,175
A/N: i had this written down long time ago tbh and when i heard dreamcatcher’s propose i thought i’d share it with you cause the lyrics kinda matches👀 let me know what you thinkk
Tumblr media
You remember very vividly the day your whole life changed. It didn’t feel real, just a few days ago you’d been a normal young woman working at this Italian restaurant as a waitress and then suddenly you found yourself dragged into mafia’s dirty world. A huge misunderstanding. You’d never expect that tall, gorgeous short-haired woman to be a mafia member. You’d never expect Yoohyeon - that was her name - to be spying on you.
When she walked into the restaurant for the very first time and directly asked your colleague for you to get her order, you couldn’t believe it. Despite being shy, you felt beyond happy about an attractive, charming stranger wanting to have an encounter with you out of all other waitresses and waiters. You didn’t question Yoohyeon’s flirting or her curious eyes glued to your figure even while you were serving other customers. It seemed okay, more than that actually. You liked being the centre of her attention.
Yoohyeon visited restaurant few more times, always getting a Margarita from you. She’d take her time drinking it while admiring the surroundings and simply walk away after winking your way. She was generous, tipped you a lot which was another reason why you were so fond of her.
That day, there was an accident, someone drunk barged into restaurant. He kept yelling at one of the customers accusing him of lying and stealing money. His whole face turned red from all the anger, alcohol and emotions he’d been dealing with. You coworker Mark, who was also a waiter, tried to ease their nerves and not cause panic in between other guests. Unfortunately, Mark didn’t manage to take control of the situation.
You froze on the spot watching as one of the men, the drunk one, rushed to punch the other nearly sending him off the chair. That’s when even worse thing happened. The other guy started defending himself with a knife which he sneakily took from the table. Mark quickly jumped, truth be told he’d have no chance against them. It was too risky for him to intervene, so he did the only thing he could - called the police.
All of other guests were running out, as the place was slowly being demolished. It was pure chaos. You felt many people pushing through, not caring about your body. You’d almost fall to the floor as well if it weren’t for someone grabbing your wrist and pulling into themselves forcefully, yet there was a subtle tenderness to it.
“Yoohyeon.” You gasped once your hands landed on her shoulders for some support.
“It’s dangerous here, Y/N. We need to go.” The look in her eyes was so intense that you had to really push yourself in order to glance around. Almost everyone else had ran away. Yohyeon was right. You needed to find a safe place and wait for the police.
With a tight grip on your hand Yoohyeon led you outside. Something about her calm aura and confidence let you feel safe. You began to scan her body, she had great physics. Strong muscles currently covered by suit pants and a white shirt. Her face remained almost neutral, except for the gentle frown on her forehead. It only made her more attractive in your eyes, though.
Outside, you found a bit less crowded space a few meters away from the restaurant’s entrance. While you stayed focused on the situation in front of you, you missed the way Yoohyeon nodded at someone behind you.
“I’m sorry.” She suddenly said quietly.
“For wha-”
~
You woke up in a dark room which kind of reminded of a warehouse. Panic in your eyes, as you glanced around. Did you just get kidnapped?
It didn’t sit right with you.
“Finally.” Your head snapped in the direction of the voice.
“Long time no see, huh?” A tall, dark-haired woman addressed you, a satisfied smirk present on her face.
“What? What is going on? It’s a misunderstanding.”
“Don’t play innocent now, Karla. You really thought you’d get away with everything you’ve done to me?”
Karla? Who the hell was Karla?
“I am not Karla, I swear. You got the wrong person. I’m Y/N.” The woman in front of you laughed at your shaking voice.
“I have to admit, you’ve always been a good actress.” She took slow steps towards you, a dangerous glint in her eyes. “But you won’t fool me again.”
You gulped the second she knelt in front of you to look you straight in the eyes.
“I can prove it. I have no idea who Karla even is. You got the wrong person. Believe me please.”
Woman’s head tilted to the side, that’s when you finally spotted Yoohyeon leaning against the wall. Her hands behind her back, as she watched the scene with that small frown.
“Yoohyeon! What did you do?! You know I’m not Karla!” Your eyes met, but there was no empathy in hers. She stared at you blankly.
“Yoohyeon only fulfilled my order which was to catch you, the hacker.” Woman in front of you held up a picture of... someone very similar. You had to admit she looked just like you although you’d never wear her clothes. Nevertheless, your eyes widened in shock.
“I-I-That’s not me, I swear. She looks almost identical, but really it can’t be me. I’m just a waitress and a student during weekends. Yoohyeon knows it!”
You so badly wanted another girl to take action and agree with you. You thought she was smarter than that. There was no way for you to be involved in mafia’s world.
“Woah, have you already fallen for her? You think she’d like someone like you? Oh, please.”
Angry tears blurred your vision. So that’s why Yoohyeon wanted your attention. She was only fulfilling orders. You understood it when she remained motionless against the wall.
“Yoohyeon.” This time leader’s voice was surprisingly stern, far from amusement she was expressing moments ago. One word was enough for the brunette to immediately approach both of you.
“Yes?” Her cautious eyes focused on the other woman.
“Meet me in my office in ten minutes.”
Yoohyeon nodded as you watched the leader walk away. Apparently, now it was her job to look after you.
“Come on, I’ll show you your room.” Yoohyeon said over her shoulder already on her way out of the room. You hated how empty she sounded like. You hated her current facial expression. Who did she think she was? There was no way she’ll tell you what to do.
“Y/N?” Brunette turned around when she didn’t hear you getting up.
“Fuck you! I’m not going anywhere. You know damn right I have nothing in common with mafia! Why did you do that?! Why did you stay quiet when she was talking to me?” You rose on your feet, angry tears now streaming down your face. Yoohyeon clenched her jaw and quickly approached you while pinning against the nearest wall. You froze in her strong grip, you actually had no chance against her muscular body.
“I am only doing my job, okay? Stop whining and follow me. You’re already causing trouble.” She growled in your ear and you couldn’t remember the last time you felt so scared.
Her eyes were piercing through you with so much anger, Yoohyeon’s body tightly pressed against your own didn’t help either.
You really were at her mercy. She could crash you any second. For a short moment the two of you had a silent, intense battle with your eyes. Then Yoohyeon stepped back and once again told you to follow her. You had no choice. Slowly you dragged your feet behind her tall figure. While passing through different doors and halls you began to wonder how she could be such a good actress.
Just days ago, God - you didn’t even know how long you’d been there for, Yoohyeon was sending you all these winks and smiles. How could you be so naive? How could you let her manipulate you so easily? This new side of Yoohyeon, her true side that you were now following made your stomach sick. You were terrified of what she was truly capable of.
~ About an hour later ~
Sitting on the floor with your back against the wall you were looking around your new room. There had to be a way to escape. Yoohyeon left you there before heading to her leader. She told you to ‘wait and behave’.
How nice of her, you thought sarcastically.
You sighed and curled your legs against your chest. Hunger was slowly getting at you, as well as tiredness. Although there was no way you’d fall asleep in that poorly-arranged place full of old boxes and pallets. The door had a glass in it, but unfortunately it was made out of bullet-proof glass meaning running away through it was close to impossible.
As you kept eyeing the entrance, it suddenly swung open revealing Yoohyeon with a paper bag of what looked like take-out. After closing the door, she knelt down in front of you.
“Hope you like noodles.”
You stared at the bag she put in the middle of your bodies, a frown building on your face.
Wait, what?
She actually sounded kind, too.
“Not hungry.” You turned your head to the side, refusing both her food and conversation. You knew better, they could poison you.
“I know you are, but whatever. It’s not poisoned or anything if that’s what you’re worried about.” Yoohyeon crossed her legs on the floor, her moves remained calm which you took as a good sign. You just had no idea when she’d become aggressive again.
Few seconds of an awkward silence later Yoohyeon spoke again.
“Is it true?” Her voice was really soft, a part of you wanted to believe that she came back to you. “That you’re not Karla and actually have nothing to do with the mafia?”
You met her eyes, aware that Yoohyeon tried to read through you and your emotions - something she was actually very experienced with.
“It is true. I have no idea what’s really going on and this whole situation scares me a lot.” There was a slight crack in your voice. That’s when Yoohyeon’s signature frown came back.
“That mean Karla has doppelgangers. I think that’s the case and you’re simply a victim of hers.” Short-haired nodded to herself, her gaze seemed a bit distant now as she was trying to put pieces together. “Jiu also thinks it could be a mistake that we got you and not her.”
“What does that mean then? Who’s Jiu?” You looked at her, desperately looking for answers. It was about your whole life at this point.
“Jiu’s the leader, she was talking to you earlier. Still, she’s unsure whether or not you’re only acting innocent so we need to wait for her decision.” She shrugged, as if it wasn’t a big deal.
“Are you kidding me? You’re going to let an innocent person get hurt or even killed because of your leader? Fuck, Yoohyeon! It’s my life on the line here.” This was ridiculous, you just had to raise your voice in frustration.
“Shut up. Yelling won’t fix anything.” One sentence was enough for your eyes to fill with tears again. You hated the woman in front of you, with your whole heart you despised her. “My life’s on the line too, if you weren’t aware. Although, Jiu’d never hurt me. We just have to wait few more days and then we’ll know what’s coming.”
As she finished talking, Yoohyeon gently clapped both her thighs announcing that she was done.
“Eat up.” Her monotonous was back the second she got on her feet.
You couldn’t believe she was real, it was impossible for a human being to be so awful. Eating was now the last thing you could think of.
“You know I’m innocent, right?” Before she left, you asked in a small voice filled with a tiny bit of hope.
Yoohyeon then turned around to analyze your features. Her eyes watched you carefully for what seemed like eternity. She let herself stare at you for a moment longer before finally blinking and gulping. She looked away, you had no idea what was going on in her head.
When she reached out for the doorknob you felt a single tear wetting your right cheek. You were convinced that there was no rescue for you, no escape.
She let out above the whisper, but she knew you could hear her.
“I know.”
~ The next day ~
Despite trying your best to stay awake in a foreign, dangerous place, your eyes fell closed eventually. You were completely worn out and mentally exhausted. There were no windows in the room so you had no idea what time it even was and for how long you were asleep.
It was Jiu who woke you up this time.
“Wake up, sleepyhead.” She addressed you noticing your body laying on the cold floor. All your muscles were sore because of how uncomfortable your position was. Anxiously, you looked up at her smirking face. “Come on, we’ll have some fun somewhere else.”
With a gulp, you got onto your shaky legs. You had no choice but to follow her. Like a prisoner.
Few minutes later Jiu told you to take a seat on a wooden chair, as she sat down on the other side of the enormous desk. Interrogation began.
The leader kept showing you pictures, most of them being very graphic, but it was the first time you’d seen them. You had no idea who these people, victims were. Even after asking the same questions over and over again, Jiu didn’t believe you. Both of you felt like going crazy. You wanted to be free again and she didn’t really know what to do. Finally, after sighing tiredly, she took her phone and called someone. Jiu spoke shortly, her tone didn’t leave any room to argue.
When a tall, well-built woman came in, you had a hunch where everything was heading to. Especially since she was carrying a baseball bat. They wanted to torture you.
“Handong, look at these.” Jiu’s words made the woman approach the leader immediately. She stood behind her and was analyzing both pictures and documents on the desk.
That was your chance.
You quickly glanced at the massive door before making a decision. You needed to run away, fast.
As if electrified you jumped out of the chair ignoring Jiu’s mad calls and Handong running after you. There was no looking back, as you paced through the huge warehouse. By taking a few random turns, you managed to lose the woman following you. Luckily you found space with no people in it. The only minus was that you didn’t know where to go and what was truly ahead of you. Which is why you totally didn’t expect a sudden set of stairs leading to the basement.
With a groan, you fell down while probably twisting your left ankle. You had no more power in you, no more energy to run. The pain was too overwhelming. The only thing that came to your mind was hiding, so that no one could see you in that long hall.
You crawled behind a huge plastic box filled with some liquid and hid between it and the wall. If someone was using the stairs, they wouldn’t see you.
Then, all of the sudden, you heard two pairs of steps nearing. One from the above, running and another from down the hall - steady and slow.
“Hey! Have you seen that Karla girl?” This had to be Handong on top of the stairs, but who wsa she talking to?
“No, but try in the garage. I heard someone running there.” Yoohyeon.
Your eyes widened and you did everything you could not to make a sound. While holding your breath, you heard Handong running again in a different direction. You were praying that Yoohyeon would also go somewhere else and not notice you.
You remained quiet, just when you thought she was walking away, her face came into your view as she crouched beside you. In shock, you almost yelped but quickly covered your mouth with your hand. Short-haired was watching you with that unreadable expression before smiling amused.
“Watch out for the stairs next time, will you?”
So she knew it was you, but still told Handong to go somewhere else?
“What? Did you just keep me covered?” You couldn’t believe it.
“I know what I’m doing, okay?” Yoohyeon looked at you expecting an affirmation, one of her eyebrows raised. Simply, you nodded not trusting your own voice anymore. “Let’s go, I’ll bring you back to your room.”
It was very weird. Why would she do that when you were in the middle of talking to Jiu? Shouldn’t she bring you back to her leader?
Confused, you got up but was reminded of your injured leg. Yoohyeon saw you flinching with every step you took, but the moment she opened her mouth you protested.
“I’m fine.” Stubbornly, you followed her.
In response, Yoohyeon rolled her eyes and after two more meters of you still not catching up, she turned around. Wordlessly, she closed the distance between you two and lifted you in her arms. You were beyond speechless when she readjusted your body, making you wrap your arms around her neck in a hurry in order not to fall. She held you in a bridal carry method. Her grip really strong, she didn’t even look like she was struggling with all your weight on her.
“Why are you doing this?” You used the opportunity to study her face. Neutral and bored almost as always. That’s what made her so unpredictable. You never knew what she was thinking.
“Why are you so stubborn?” She asked back.
This time, you rolled your eyes.
You chose to stay quiet for the rest of the way. Truth be told, you kind of felt okay with Yoohyeon holding you like that. Almost safe. You enjoyed the leather material of her jacket and the feeling of her hair brushing against your hand as it bounced along with her steps.
Her smell was also nice, strong yet comforting. Finally, you couldn’t help but stare at her lips. They were so close, barely a breath away. Yoohyeon’s whole body was very warm. The contrast to the air and atmosphere around you.
With a deep sigh you hated to admit it, but you liked being this close to her. You wished you could stay like this for a long time.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” Yoohyeon smirked at you, noticing how you were constantly ogling her.
“Very funny.” Your response was quiet and filled with sarcasm as your eyes narrowed in annoyance.
Since she didn’t appreciate your staring and teased you about it you rested your head against her shoulder, almost in the crock of her neck. Your breaths must have tickled her skin as goosebumps slowly appeared. You felt yourself smiling gently.
“You can get off now, you know.” Once again her voice was full of amusement. She just loved making fun of you, didn’t she? Although, you had no idea when you even managed to enter your room.
“Right.” Mumbling, you got on your own feet with a pained expression when your left leg hit the floor. Yoohyeon’s hand stayed on your waist in case you couldn’t find balance, for that you were grateful.
“Let me see it.” She helped you slowly sit down and examined your ankle. You gasped when she turned it in her hand a bit too fast. Nevertheless, her touches were gentle, it didn’t seem like she wanted to hurt you. She even apologized for grasping your leg too hard.
“It’s twisted, I’ll get some bandage. Don’t move it too much, okay?”
It’s not like you physically could.
Moments later, Yoohyeon came back with a bandage and a weird smile playing on her lips.
“What’s so funny?” You frowned when she began to wrap your ankle without a word. She was very delicate while helping you.
“Jiu and Handong are still looking for you.”
Are they dumb? Or is Yoohyeon the insane one?
After all, she’s incredibly brave to go behind her leader’s back like that.
“Are they going to hurt me for running away?” Fear present in your voice as you whispered.
“I’ll take care of it.” Yoohyeon said seriously, your eyes met briefly. It was her way of confirming and keeping her promise. Eye contact.
“I see you haven’t eaten yet?” With a glance at the unopened take-out bag, she finished wrapping your your leg. It felt slightly better already. “What food do you like then? Rice, chicken, pizza?”
“Pad Thai’s fine.”
“We’ll go once it’s all over.” Yoohyeon nodded while standing up.
“Are you asking me on a date?” You blurted out of blue. You had every right to be confused. With Yoohyeon nothing was certain.
“That’s for me to know and for you to...” With a light shrug, she turned around and left.
You shook your head and leaned against the wall. What world was she living in?
That was an excellent question.
~
Later that day Jiu visited you for the second time. She seemed to lack some of determination she’d had earlier.
“Yoohyeon twisted your ankle?” Was the first thing she said. Her eyebrows raised in disbelief, she looked comical almost.
You opened your mouth to protest, but were fast enough to catch up on what was going on.
“Yes.” You kept your head low in order not to give yourself away.
“That’s a bit weird of her.” Jiu admitted out loud before remembering what she came for in the first place. “Listen, Y/N.”
It was the first time she used your real name. Did she understand that you were not the one she was looking for?
“You’re in danger now. Karla changed her appearance on purpose so she has people who look like her. Which means that you can be targeted by many people.” You looked up to meet Jiu’s eyes. Her face was serious, but since she was warning you like this, it meant that she’ll let you go, right?
“However, just as much as you’re in danger- you’re also lucky.” Jiu sighed upon seeing your lost expression. “You’re lucky Yoohyeon likes you. She won’t let anybody hurt you.”
Now it all made no sense. It was ridiculous for the leader to even be saying such things.
“But she twisted my ankle.” Unsure, you argued causing dark-haired woman to chuckle.
“She lied straight in my face about twisting your leg. I saw how you fell down the stairs on cameras and Yoohyeon still chose to lie about you. You’ll be safe with her.” Something on Jiu’s face changed. Now, she looked like she was having a conversation with a friends or something. Almost like she was giving advises to someone close to her.
Your tongue was tied. You had so many things to ask her, yet you didn’t know where to start.
“A-Aren’t you mad?”
“At her or at you?” Catching you off guard, Jiu sat down next to you.
“Both?” You honestly felt like everyone there was making an idiot out of you.
“I’ve known Yoohyeon since I can remember. I can tell right away when she’s lying or when she likes someone. It’s the first time she behaved like that, though. She’s never tried to protect someone so much.” You looked down feeling your cheeks warm up. “I’m not mad at her for that. I want her to be happy. I’m also not mad at you. Just frustrated, but nothing about it is your fault.”
You nodded acknowledging, but also appreciating her calm voice. Jiu seemed alright.
Now, you were feeling both excited and very nervous about meeting Yoohyeon again.
You had a lot to talk about.
~
While admiring the first sunset in the last few days you were waiting for Yoohyeon at the back of the old warehouse. Handong was the one who walked you outside. She helped you with the ankle and told you to wait few more minutes for the short-haired.
The second you heard steps coming your way, you turned around. Yoohyeon’s hair was bouncing as she walked towards you, her hands hidden in the pockets of her jacket.
“You up for some Pad Thai?” She asked with that damn smile.
After a nice evening out, she walked you home or more accurately carried on her back. Her strong hands were holding your thighs. Your arms were hugging her neck and you let your body press against her back fully.
“I like your perfume.” You shyly said.
It was now completely dark outside, but you weren’t afraid. Yoohyeon wouldn’t let anything happen to you. You knew that now.
“Thanks, it’s Gucci.” She giggled randomly making you laugh as well. You felt every vibration of hers. Every breath she took.
You wanted to stay close to her forever.

Level Up in Friendship
Dreamcatcher's Yoohyeon x Female Reader
Tumblr media
Yoohyeon, the talented vocalist of Dreamcatcher, had always enjoyed gaming, but she'd only slightly ventured into the world of League of Legends—until now. It was practically a rite of passage in Korea, where the game was a cultural phenomenon. Feeling a little adventurous, she decided to give it a go again.
Her first few games after a long time were a disaster. Losses piled up, and her teammates were quick to hurl toxic insults her way. The frustration bubbled beneath her calm demeanor, but Yoohyeon remained composed, deciding to give it one last try before calling it a day.
She queued up, this time paired with a stranger named Y/N, who was assigned to support her as she played ADC. Despite their best efforts, they still lost the game. Yet, in stark contrast to her previous experiences, Y/N was different. As the other players in the chat began blaming Yoohyeon, Y/N defended her, calmly reminding everyone that it was an unranked match and the score didn’t matter.
Yoohyeon felt a wave of relief. Someone was on her side. She appreciated the kind gesture and, on impulse, sent a friend request to Y/N. To her delight, Y/N accepted, and from that moment on, they started playing together almost every day. It became a routine—a comforting part of Yoohyeon’s otherwise busy schedule. Slowly but surely, they began to open up to each other. They shared little details about their lives, like their names, the cities they lived in, and favorite foods.
One evening, as usual, Y/N headed to the local PC bang with a grin on her face, anticipating her nightly gaming session with Yoohyeon. But just as she was settling in, a message popped up on her screen. It was from Yoohyeon: Sorry, I have a fan meeting tonight. I won’t be able to play.” Y/N’s heart sank, but she smiled to herself and shrugged. She decided to solo queue instead.
Meanwhile, Yoohyeon was at her fan meeting, greeting fans and signing autographs. But her mind kept wandering back to her regular gaming time with Y/N. Once the event ended, she glanced at the clock—only an hour and a half had passed since their usual playtime. Feeling restless, she headed to the nearest PC bang, hoping to squeeze in a quick game before the night was over.
By sheer coincidence, Yoohyeon sat down next to Y/N, though neither recognized the other. They had never seen each other’s faces, only knowing each other as voices in the game. Y/N felt the presence of someone beside her and turned her head slightly, her eyes widening in surprise. The woman sitting next to her was stunning, causing Y/N to fumble her game and unintentionally lose it for her team. Her mood sank briefly, but it instantly lifted when a message from her gaming friend—Yoohyeonpinged on the screen.
Feeling bold, Y/N typed back, asking if Yoohyeon wanted to transition to a voice call. They had never used voice chat before, so it was a big step. To her relief, Yoohyeon agreed. At first, it was awkward, but soon, the conversation flowed naturally, and they chatted easily about everything from game strategy to life. Y/N casually mentioned how she loved grabbing fried chicken, takoyaki, and jjajangmyeon with cheese on top, when she came to the PC bang, and Yoohyeon laughed, teasing her about the amount of food. Y/N proudly declared she could finish it all.
As they continued to play, Yoohyeon began to notice something strange. Whenever she died in the game, the girl sitting next to her reacted at the same time, as if they were playing together. Her suspicions grew when she saw the same dishes Y/N had mentioned being delivered to the girl beside her. Then, to confirm her hunch, Yoohyeon casually suggested over voice chat that they take a stretch break after playing for a while. The moment she said it, the girl beside her stretched too.
Yoohyeon’s heart raced. She leaned toward the girl and tapped the girl's shoulder, "Are you playing League of Legends?" Y/N, caught off guard, nodded without thinking, her headset still on. In the next second, she heard Yoohyeon’s voice through the headset and in real life at the same time.
The realization unfolded slowly, each moment deepening their astonishment. They locked eyes, the initial shock gradually transforming into shared laughter. The weight of the coincidence settled over them, making the night feel even more special. Setting their game aside, they moved their chairs closer, immersing themselves in conversation. They talked and laughed late into the night, reveling in the remarkable twist of fate that had led them to sit side by side in that PC Bang.
When they eventually left the PC bang, they stood outside awkwardly, neither wanting to say goodbye. After a brief pause, Yoohyeon broke the silence. "Here, take my number," she said, handing her phone to Y/N. The gesture left Y/N in stunned silence. "If I’m ever around again, I’d love to meet up. Oh, and by the way…" Yoohyeon hesitated before continuing, "I realized you never recognized me. When you get home, search up what I’m about to text you."
With that, Yoohyeon hurried off, leaving Y/N standing there, baffled. The curiosity was too much to bear, so Y/N immediately checked her phone. The message read, Yoohyeon of Dreamcatcher.
Y/N stood there on the sidewalk, staring at her phone in disbelief. She had looked up Yoohyeon of Dreamcatcher just like her friend had suggested, but none of it made sense. She’d never heard of Dreamcatcher before. The images that popped up showed Yoohyeon on stage, dazzling in elaborate outfits and surrounded by screaming fans. It was hard to reconcile this with the down-to-earth gamer she’d spent so many late nights with. Still, famous or not, Yoohyeon was just… Yoohyeon.
As she made her way home, a soft smile spread across Y/N’s face. It didn’t really matter if Yoohyeon was part of some famous group; to her, she was just her gaming friend—the person who laughed at their losses and shared funny stories in between matches. That was all that mattered.
Later that evening, as Y/N sat in her room, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Yoohyeon.
Yoohyeon: “So, did you look me up? 😆”
Y/N laughed to herself, her fingers hovering over the keyboard.
Y/N: “I did… but I gotta admit, I have no idea what Dreamcatcher is. I feel like I’m missing something big?”
The reply came quickly, and she could almost hear Yoohyeon’s amused chuckle.
Yoohyeon: “Haha, that’s okay! Honestly, it’s kinda refreshing that you didn’t know. It makes it easier to just be me when we hang out.”
Y/N smiled, a warmth spreading through her chest.
Y/N: “Well, whoever you are on stage, you’re still the same person I carried through all those League games. That’s all I care about.”
A moment passed before her phone buzzed again.
Yoohyeon: “And that’s exactly why I’m so glad we met. Next time, let’s hang out in person. No screens, no games. Just us.”
Y/N’s heart fluttered at the thought.
Y/N: “I’d love that.”
From that night on, their bond deepened. They still played League of Legends regularly, but now they also video called after their games, chatting late into the night. Yoohyeon often called from her dorm or hotel rooms while traveling for work, and Y/N from the comfort of her home. Though they lived in different cities, these virtual hangouts felt like their way of closing the distance.
On those calls, they’d talk about everything—from small moments in their day to their dreams for the future. Sometimes they ate together too, sharing their meals over video as if they were sitting across from each other, while Yoohyeon playfully teased Y/N about her massive portions, usually with her own simpler snack in hand.
For Y/N, Yoohyeon wasn’t an idol; she was just her friend, her partner in the game, and someone she could trust. It didn’t matter that they didn’t live in the same city or that Yoohyeon was constantly busy with her Dreamcatcher schedule—what mattered was that their connection was real. Even across the miles, they had found a way to be part of each other’s everyday lives.
Months after months have passed since that fateful night at the PC bang, and Y/N and Yoohyeon continued their gaming sessions, effortlessly strengthening their bond. They became inseparable online, chatting about life, sharing laughs, and enjoying each other’s company without the pressure of Yoohyeon’s idol life looming over them. Y/N still didn’t fully grasp Yoohyeon’s fame as part of Dreamcatcher, but it never really mattered. Yoohyeon was just her friend—fun, kind, and easy to talk to.
One day, Y/N received a message that caught her off guard.
Yoohyeon: "Hey, guess what?"
Y/N:"What’s up?"
Yoohyeon: "I’m coming to your city again soon! We have a fan meeting there in a couple of weeks."
Y/N: "Oh, really? That’s awesome! Wait, is that what you meant by ‘work stuff’? 😆"
Yoohyeon: "Yep! And I have a surprise for you… I saved some tickets for the event. You should come!"
Y/N: "Me? At a fan meeting? I wouldn’t even know what to do! 😅"
Yoohyeon: "Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you feel right at home. I promise it’ll be fun."
Curiosity tugged at Y/N, so she agreed. A couple of weeks later, she found herself standing in line at a Dreamcatcher fan meeting in her city. She felt out of place among the die-hard fans, who excitedly chatted about their favorite members and shared stories of attending concerts. Y/N, still unfamiliar with the world of K-pop, smiled nervously as she moved closer to the front.
Finally, it was her turn. When Y/N stepped up to Yoohyeon’s table, the moment felt surreal. Yoohyeon, sitting there in full idol mode, saw her and her face lit up instantly with a warm smile.
“You made it!” Yoohyeon said, her voice soft but full of excitement. Y/N couldn’t help but grin back.
“Yeah, I didn’t want to miss this,” Y/N replied, still in awe of the setup—the stage, the flashing lights, the adoring fans waiting to meet Yoohyeon. It was a world Y/N hadn’t fully understood until now.
As Yoohyeon greeted Y/N, a few of the other Dreamcatcher members, who were observing from a nearby table, couldn’t resist teasing her. Jiu, with a sly smile, remarked, “Yoohyeon, I see you’ve got a special guest today. Did you make sure to save her a front-row spot?”
Sua added, with a hint of mischief, “You’ve been talking about this one quite a bit. Is she your new favorite?”
Yoohyeon’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she laughed nervously. “Oh, stop it! She’s just a friend who’s been really supportive.”
Siyeon chimed in playfully, “Just a friend who seems to get all the insider info. I’m sure you’re not giving her special treatment or anything.”
Yoohyeon tried to laugh it off, though her smile lingered longer than usual. “I just wanted her to see what I do when I’m not gaming.”
Y/N, oblivious to the underlying teasing, felt a mix of embarrassment and amusement, her nerves easing as she saw the playful interaction between Yoohyeon and her bandmates. It added a layer of warmth to the experience, making her feel more at ease.
“I know this is probably all really weird for you,” Yoohyeon whispered, leaning in slightly. “But I’m glad you came. I wanted you to see this part of my life.”
Y/N smiled, feeling a little more at ease. “It’s definitely different from the PC bang.”
Yoohyeon giggled. “A little, yeah. But no matter where we are, I’m still me.”
The brief interaction ended, and Y/N moved aside, watching Yoohyeon continue to greet her fans with the same warmth and energy she always brought to their gaming sessions. It was a strange feeling, seeing Yoohyeon in this setting—a world where she was a star to so many people—but Y/N still saw her as the same person she had laughed with during late-night games.
After the fan meeting wrapped up, Yoohyeon spotted Y/N waiting near the exit. With a grin, she made her way over, her eyes sparkling with happiness.
“I told you it would be fun,” Yoohyeon teased.
Y/N laughed, shaking her head. “It was definitely an experience! I had no idea so many people loved you.”
Yoohyeon smiled, her expression softening. “It’s a little overwhelming sometimes, but it’s nice. They support me, and it means a lot.” She paused for a moment before adding, “But you… you make things feel normal, and I really appreciate that.”
Y/N’s heart warmed at her words. Even in the midst of all the fame, Yoohyeon was still just her friend.
“So, now that you’ve seen me in action,” Yoohyeon began, nudging Y/N playfully, “how about we celebrate? Fried chicken, takoyaki, and jjajangmyeon with cheese, just like when we first met.”
Y/N’s eyes lit up. “You remembered my order?”
“Of course!” Yoohyeon said with a grin. “Best duo, remember?”
“Best duo,” Y/N agreed, laughing. “And next time I’m in town, the food’s on me.”
As they walked out of the venue together, Y/N realized that despite the spotlight surrounding Yoohyeon, their friendship remained unchanged. It didn’t matter that Yoohyeon was a star on stage—she would always just be the friend who shared late-night games, funny banter, and their favorite meal combo.
And as they left, arm in arm, Y/N knew that no matter how many miles separated them or how busy their lives became, there would always be time for their little traditions—gaming together, laughing over their inside jokes, and deepening the bond they had built from that first match

Rise Up (NSFW) FT Yoohyeon and Jiu
Tumblr media
Author’s note: when I wrote Bon Voyage I had planned to make sequels but each one became so much different from Bon voyage that I eventually scrapped the entire idea and figured it would be best to leave it open ended, maybe give another writer something to go off of but I guess that was an impossible task.
to the anon who asked for this. I am deeply sorry. I was in a very different headspace and emotional state then when I wrote Bon Voyage however long ago. I hope this sequel is appreciated if not I apologize again, because I’m sure this isn’t what you probably expected.
Part I
“I knew it” Yoohyeon gloated.
“Yoohyeon I can… wait you knew,” Othello asked confused.
“I had my suspicion ever since I started developing psionic powers I figured it'd be a matter of time before you developed Magik. So when did it start, what are your powers.”
“I don't know I guess it started when…wait what did you say?”
Yoohyeon smiled before deciding to tease Othello a bit. “What are your powers and when did it start?”
“No before that right “After I had my suspicions” You mentioned something and I want to make sure I heard right.”
“Oh please Othello, it's no big deal. I have been developing psionic powers.” Yoohyeon teased. Othello was about to say something when his phone went off.
“Well continue this later,” Daigo affirmed as he pulled out of Yoohyeon's pleasant pussy.
“Oh, do you have something more important to do than me,” Yoohyeon teased as she began to play with herself. Yoohyeon knew she was playing dirty. Using the one thing she knew that almost always enticed him to stay. She hated that she had to exploit Othello’s hunger for physical affection in this way but she was starting to tire of how people treated him. She just wanted to cuddle him and give him all the love and affection he could ever need.
“Yoon you know you are the most important person in my life right now but Hanni asked for my advice and she said it was urgent,” Othello explained. Immediately Yoohyeon stopped and flew up to get ready. Now understanding that he was needed and not being forced.
“I'm coming with you,” she said seriously in big sister mode. Othello sighed, but Yoohyeon was having none of it. “Not only are we a couple Othello but I will remind you that Hanni was also trained by my mentor so I think I should be a part of whatever she needs from you.” She said defiantly standing her full height would have cut quite the imposing figure but all Othello could think about was bending her over and smacking her fat ass until she begged him to fuck her. His daydream was interrupted when Yoohyeon added,
“We are going to go together when we are done. We are going to come back home and finish what we started.” Othello’s shoulders fell as he relented
“Okay, but you are going to tell her that you were adamant to come since Hanni asked I come alone,” Othello explains. Yoohyeon smiles triumphantly before rushing to get dressed.
Despite her usual poise and grace Yoohyeon tripped in their bedroom and was caught in the nick of time by Othello.
Yoohyeon stood dressed in front of Othello having finished changing. Realizing she wasn't backing down he went to redo his bandages.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“Only you and Lorgar know and I intend to keep it that way,” Othello explained.
Yoohyeon scoffed “Oh you're so silly. Just follow my lead okay.”
Othello sighed “Okay sure.”
The couple arrived at the chosen cafe where Hanni was waiting. She grimaced when she saw Yoohyeon. She had hoped she would only be talking to her “older brother” as this was urgent.
“Why is she here?” Hanni asked as her voice dropped upon seeing Yoohyeon.
Yoohyeon smiled, “we are a packaged deal” she exclaimed proudly. Both Hanni and Othello cringed before they laughed together.
The trio sits down and Othello cuts straight to it.
“So Hanni what’s wrong?”
Hanni twiddles her fingers her eyes darting from Othello to Yoohyeon. She gulped.
“It’s okay Hanni just tell us what’s wrong you’re safe with us.” Yoohyeon consoled. Hanni took a a shakes breath, then one that was more relaxed.
“I am developing psionic powers,” she said. After she spoke she waited for gasps and shocked indignation. When she received niether she looked at an unsurprised Yoohyeon and Othello. She noticed their faces were concerned but unsurprised. She then looked down at Othello’s arms and noticed trails of witch marks running along them. Hanni’s eyes widened as she opened her mouth to speak but Othello covered her mouth before she could rev up.
“Let’s continue this back at Yoohyeon and I’s place. Does that work for you?” Othello asked and Hanni nodded.
11 minutes later the trio was in Yoohyeon and Othello’s shared residence Hanni shaking from the revelation she learned earlier.
Othello breaks the ice“You have witch marks. You can do magic and psionics.” He says, “Why tell me instead of your mentor or even Yoon?”
“With the tensions rising between the Circle and the empire I wanted to turn to the only Psionic user I trusted.” Hanni stammered
“You know I’m the most “by the book” codex bearer right” Othello retorted with raised eyebrows. Hanni rolled her eyes and countered with
“Yes, I hear legends about how your malicious compliance vexes the lore masters to no end,” Othello laughs.
“I’m still compliant though.”
“So are you gonna report me to the high witch coven?” Hanni challenges
“Hell no. I’m not a ward witch so I’m not bound by y’all’s policies and bylaws.” Hanni smiled gratefully as her instinct was proven.
“Yeah because he’d have to report me as well,” Yoohyeon said to Hanni as she showed Hanni her psionic mark. Hanni’s eyes widened as she saw the concentric circular rings that aligned between Yoohyeon’s shoulder blades at the base of her neck.
“Well now you have to report each other,” Othello teased. Hanni and Yoohyeon laughed as Othello sat on the couch.
“Oh be quiet Mr. I’m developing Magik and have been keeping it a secret.” Yoohyeon teased.
Othello smiled and Hanni finally remembered what she wanted to ask.
“Oh yeah so how long has that been a thing, and what are your powers,” Hanni said
Othello wiped his face. While funny Hanni’s enthusiasm and energy could be exhausting.
“Not sure yet haven’t used them,” Othello said to the surprise of both witches.
“Why not?” Hanni asked
“Because they work completely differently than psionics. So I’d have to readjust from bottom to top in terms of skill and ability.” Othello explained. The two girls smiled and then replied
“Well, how about you give us the basics of psionics and we give you the basics of magic,” Yoohyeon said happily. Othello considered for a moment then agreed.
“Okay.” Othello said but before he could dive into the lesson his “phone” went off
“Yeah, Lorgar?”
“Right now,”
“Oh yeah, I’ll come now.”
Hanni and Yoohyeon look confused at Othello until he says,
“Ventus and Terra have entered into a civil war. The guild is starting a discussion about it.” Orion explained.
As Orion, Yoohyeon, and Hanni made their way to the space guild meeting, the atmosphere buzzed with a mix of anticipation and unspoken tension. The path leading to the guild hall was lined with towering trees, their branches forming a natural canopy that dappled the sunlight onto the ground below. Yoohyeon walked briskly beside Orion, her expression focused, while Hanni trailed slightly behind, her mind preoccupied with thoughts of her burgeoning psionic powers.
As they approached the entrance to the guild hall, Orion spotted a familiar figure waiting near the doorway. Jiu, Yoohyeon's coven leader, and Orion's flirtatious older sister leaned casually against the wall, her arms crossed and a playful smile tugging at her lips. Her presence was both comforting and slightly unnerving, her keen eyes seeming to take in everything at once.
"Well, if it isn't my favorite little codex keeper," Jiu greeted, her voice warm yet teasing as Orion approached and she looked up at him. "It's been a while. Still keeping busy, I see?"Hanni and Yoohyeon smile at Jiu’s remark.
Orion nodded softly, trying to mask the weariness he felt deep within. "You know how it is, Jiu. There's always something that needs doing."
Jiu studied him for a moment, her gaze penetrating. She reached out and gently touched his arm, her expression softening. "You're looking a bit more worn out than usual, Orion. Are you getting enough rest?" Yoohyeon despite knowing that Orion only had eyes for her felt a pang of jealousy. Jiu and Orion always seemed to have this innate bond but they never really knew what to do with it. She also that Jiu and Orion had feelings for each other in the past and those might not have gone away as cleanly as they declared
Orion hesitated, his usual defenses crumbling under her scrutiny. "No I haven’t," he admitted feeling guilty, glancing away momentarily. He hesitated in adding "There's just been a lot on my mind."
Jiu's eyes narrowed slightly, concern etching her features. "You can't keep pushing yourself like this," she admonished, her voice laced with genuine care. "I know you've got a lot on your plate, but you need to take care of yourself too."Hanni found herself agreeing with Jiu. Orion had been on 4 expeditions in the last six weeks all of which ventured into the KO-35 region which stood on the precipice of a galactic war.
Orion nodded, appreciating her concern but unsure how to ease the burden weighing on his shoulders. "I'll try," he promised, though both of them knew it was easier said than done.
Sensing the deeper fatigue within him, Jiu leaned closer, her voice dropping to a softer tone. "Just remember, you're not alone, Orion. You've got people who care about you." to further cap her point she kissed his cheek and smiled lovingly at him.
Her words lingered in the air, offering a solace that Orion rarely allowed himself to accept. He gave her a small, grateful smile, knowing that she would always be there to support him, no matter what challenges lay ahead.
"Thanks, Jiu," he said, his voice sincere.
Before they could move on, Yoohyeon chimed in, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "You two are so cute," she teased, nudging Orion playfully. "Jiu, I swear you worry about him more than I do."
Jiu laughed, the sound light and musical. "Well, someone has to make sure he doesn’t work himself into the ground," she replied, a twinkle of amusement in her eyes.
Orion rolled his eyes, though he couldn't suppress a small smile. "I feel like I'm being ganged up on," he remarked, feigning exasperation.
Yoohyeon grinned. "Just admit it, you love the attention."
Orion put his hands up and clarified, I like being cared for, there is a difference,” Hanni said Yoohyeon both laughed rigorously.
Jiu joined in on the teasing, crossing her arms and giving Orion a mock-serious look. "Maybe we should just adopt him into the coven, Yoohyeon. That way, we can keep an even closer eye on him and give him all the care his little dark heart could want."
Orion shook his head, chuckling. "As tempting as that sounds, I think I'll pass."
With their playful banter easing some of the tension, the group headed into the guild hall, ready to face whatever awaited them within. As they walked in Jiu watched Orion and remembered the first time they met.
It was a sweltering summer day and Jiu stood outside practicing her Ward Witch magiks. The marketplace was bustling with activity, the air filled with the sounds of vendors calling out their wares and the chatter of shoppers haggling for the best deals. Orion, still a young and eager Codex Keeper apprentice at the time, navigated through the crowd with a determined focus, his mind was set on finding a new restaurant he hadn’t seen before.
He was so absorbed in his task that he barely noticed the commotion ahead until he nearly stumbled into it. A group of unruly teenagers was harassing a street performer, a girl a little bit older than Orion himself. Her jet black hair was unmistakable, cascading down her shoulders as she expertly juggled glowing orbs, her face a mask of concentration.
"Come on, show us something really impressive!" one of the teens jeered, grabbing at one of the orbs.
Orion felt a surge of righteous rage rises within him. He couldn't stand by and watch someone be bullied, especially someone with such obvious talent. Taking a deep breath, he stepped forward, his voice steady despite the nervousness he felt.
"Hey, leave her alone," he called out, trying to sound more confident than he felt. "She doesn't owe you anything."
The teens turned to look at him, sizing him up with a mix of disdain and amusement. Before they could respond, the girl with the jet-black hair caught the stolen orb with a flourish and flashed a defiant smile.
"Thanks for the assist, but I've got this," she said, her voice carrying a playful edge as she deftly maneuvered around the teens, her movements as fluid as water. In a swift motion, she sent the glowing orbs swirling around the group, creating a dazzling light show that mesmerized the onlookers.
Orion watched in awe as the bullies retreated, grumbling but outmatched. The girl caught the orbs effortlessly, letting them wink out one by one as the crowd erupted into applause.
"Nice trick," Orion said as she approached him, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Thanks," she replied, extending a hand. "I'm Jiu."
"Orion," he replied, shaking her hand, feeling an instant connection.
"You're pretty brave for stepping in like that," Jiu noted, a teasing lilt to her voice. "Not many people would."
Orion shrugged, a little embarrassed by the praise. "I just didn’t like seeing them push you around."
Jiu laughed, a bright, infectious sound that made him smile. "Well, I'm glad you did. How about a reward? Are you hungry?” Jiu asked. Orion nodded as he responded “Always” and Jiu smiled. “Let me show you around. I know all the best spots in town."
From that day on, Orion and Jiu were inseparable. She introduced him to the hidden gems of the city, and he helped her ward witch studies she was his first friend in the mega city planet and that meant something special to him. Jiu knew that in watching how he always took care of not only her but Jiu’s coven mates and Jiu’s teacher and her students. She felt a pang of sadness when Yoohyeon said she and Orion started dating because she thought they would be together but both Orion and Jiu made silent agreements to suppress their feelings for each other a long time ago.
As Jiu, Orion, Hanni, and Yoohyeon walked into the guild hall, the grand space was alive with energy and chatter. The room was filled with fellow guild members, their conversations creating a lively hum that echoed off the high ceilings and intricate woodwork. The sunlight streamed through the stained glass windows, casting colorful patterns on the floor.
Jiu led the way, her confident stride drawing attention from those they passed. Orion followed closely, his expression focused yet distracted. Hanni and Yoohyeon brought up the rear, their whispers punctuated by occasional giggles.
As they moved through the hall, Jiu’s eyes fell on Orion’s arm. The sleeves of his jacket had pulled back slightly, revealing the faint glow of his magic lines beneath his skin. She paused, her curiosity piqued by the intricate patterns she hadn’t noticed before.
"Orion," Jiu said, touching his shoulder lightly to get his attention. "Can I talk to you for a second?"
Orion nodded, glancing at Hanni and Yoohyeon. "Go ahead, I'll catch up in a bit," he said to them, reassuring them with a nod.
Jiu led him to a quieter corner of the hall, away from the bustling crowd. She turned to face him, her eyes focused on the glowing lines. "Um, what are these?” She asked calmly as she raised Orion’s jacket sleeves. Orion tried to hide them but it was too late Jiu saw them and demanded answers, “When did these develop?” She asked her voice held expectant.
Orion sighed and said,” After the Mohg incident.”
Jiu's eyes widened, and she responded, “So you did use flame arrows on him.”
Orion shrugged. Jiu gazed at his lines and felt a warm sense of familiarity in the images from them. Jiu reached out, her fingers hovering near his arm as if seeking permission. Orion nodded, and she gently traced the lines with her fingertips. The glow responded to her touch, sparking with a vibrant energy that surprised them both.
"Wow," Jiu breathed, captivated by the interaction. "It’s like they’re alive."
Orion chuckled, the warmth of her touch sending a strange comfort through him. "It feels like they have a mind of their own sometimes," he admitted, a soft smile playing on his lips.
Jiu looked up at him, her expression serious yet filled with wonder. "Do you know what they mean? What do they signify?"
Orion shook his head, a hint of frustration in his eyes. "Not entirely. I’ve been trying to figure it out, but it’s like solving a puzzle with missing pieces."
Jiu’s gaze softened, her empathy for him deepening. "Maybe we can figure it out together," she offered, her voice earnest.
Orion nodded, grateful for her support. "I’d like that."
Jiu turned back to Orion’s face, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Orion heard the hurt in Jiu’s voice and saw it reflected in her eyes, so he responded as softly as possible “Jiu I was scared. You know this is a big deal and not supposed to happen, plus you had enough on your plate with Mohg. I couldn’t add anything else to that,” while Jiu had admired Orion’s sense of Heroism she hated the burdens he took on because of them.
“Damn it Othello you should have told me. You can’t keep up all these heroics by yourself.” Jiu snapped. A surge of protectiveness and affection surged through her that she couldn’t suppress anymore.
“You’ve always sacrificed so much given so much of yourself to everyone else but never take care of yourself. When was your last off day? When was the last time you ate something that wasn’t rationed? The last time you wrote your poetry?” Jiu questioned as her voice broke. Her magic lines glow intensely. Orion grabs her and hugs her before saying,
“Jiu I’m doing my best.”
“That’s not good enough. Tonight I’m taking you off the planet to rest on Sentai VI because you need it.” Jiu demanded and Orion sighed.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to Minji” (jiu’s real name)
Minji met Othello’s gaze and they were not Jiu the coven leader of insomnia and powerful ward witch or Orion the infamous Codex keeper but Minji and Othello. Two souls facing the universe alone. They stood close as millions of emotions and tensions long buried deep came to the surface and they kissed. Minji felt her heart finally ease as it took the place it always belonged as did Orion’s but as quickly as the emotions came they vanished. Suppressed under mountains of logic and stoic duty. Minji sighed as spoke to Othello. After today I’m taking you on vacation if you need it. You should not be pushing yourself this hard.” She said firmly. Their hearts screamed out to deafened minds to embrace each other and run away from it all. But alas here we are.
Jiu’s stern face gazed into Orion’s softer one, “we’ll talk more tomorrow.” Jiu said before leaving. Orion’s head was left spinning.
The group entered the guild hall and separated into their respective factions. The meeting started and chaos ensued various ship captains made very known their fear and turmoil over the civil war as many prime members of the guild and federation leaders were from prime Terra and Ventus. The question was now would the federation and guild stay neutral? Also, the loss of the two biggest federation ports (albeit temporarily) meant massive hits to the commerce of the federation. Tensions were high among many except for a few key figures Jiu, Lorgar, Lady Sunshine, and Orion as they were from noncore planets. Lady Sunshine watched Orion sit in his chair. She watched as he processed things a thousand words at a time. She decided to throw him in the mix to see if he could solve their problems.
“Members of the council we have yet to consider outside perspectives especially those who may be well-versed in warfare.” Lady Sunshine said as the room went silent. Suddenly a thousand eyes or so were watching and waiting for Orion’s response.
Orion felt their gaze the room beginning to shrink around him as the walls closed in, and felt his rage intensifying. Why must he be the voice of reason for people who wouldn’t listen? He could rule over all of them now was his chance he had felled two warlords already and a tyrant. He could easily quell the cowardly federation. The galaxies were at constant war bickering like children. He could rule them all stop the bickering establish total peace all he needed was an army and a week.
To many Orion’s silence was maliciously obvious. His aura felt like an angered and tired God who was exhausted from saving people from a stream of endless catastrophes and disasters. Many could feel the cold and eldritch fury radiating off of him and waited with bated breath for him to rage. Jiu watched and her heart ached as she finally understood his burden.
As he tried to suppress his demands for conquest that raged within a voice rang out to him in his mind, it was Jiu she was calm as she spoke, “Breathe Othello. It will be okay.” Othello took a deep breath and his rage didn’t dissipate but became calm and focused.
“We establish that while this war wages we will be neutral but the federation ports will remain under federation control, and as long as no war is waged on them both planets may continue to utilize them, but all tax collections will be ceased.” Everyone remained silent impressed at the Eldorian’s calm demeanor and wizened proposal.
Leito stood up and said, “Absolutely, Codex Keeper Orion and I along with ward witches Jiu and Yoohyeon will lead an expedition to Terra and Ventus as a show of strength.”
Orion’s mind races as the council members all quickly agree to the plan. Save Lady Sunshine, Lorgar, or anyone who Jiu knew Orion.
Surprisingly Codex Keeper Leovold spoke out, “Keeper Leito. While I acknowledge the prowess and dedication shown by Keeper Orion. His fatigue is most concerning. He has completely 4 extremely harrowing expeditions in the last 6 weeks alone through KO-35 maybe it is time for a well-earned break for Codex Keeper Orion.”
Leito spoke with terror in his eyes and heart and not his pride. His parents were Ventus and Terran. He wanted to make sure they were safe and as much as Leito hated Orion. He knew Orion was the best bet to establish peace between the planets that would last.
“While your concerns are valid Keeper Leovold. Orion’s experience with war states demands he must be part of this mission along with his power.” Leito said, and a majority of the council who had heard the tales of him agreed. He was the only choice.
The meeting ended after that as the waves of concerns were washed away by a tsunami of fear and uncertainty.
After the meeting, Yoohyeon and Hanni ran to Orion and thanked him graciously for helping guide them, but Orion felt guilty as the weight of everything was getting to him. He could feel the burden pushing him into a corner and only known to him and Jiu there was an animal inside of Orion. One fueled by Conquest, Lust, and fury. If that wasn’t enough the kiss from earlier weighed heavily on his mind. Guilt gnawed at him as Yoohyeon kissed him relieved as did numerous other emotions. He decided to tell Yoohyeon what happened when they got back to their apartment.
When Othello finished his story Yoohyeon stood silent for 15 minutes staring at him unreadable. Othello’s worrying increased with each passing moment.
“Do you love her still,” Yoohyeon asked after a few more minutes.
“I don’t know. All I know is that I feel turmoil.” Orion replied and Yoohyeon finally saw Orion she saw the fatigue set in his features the gnawing rage festering like an infected wound but also she saw compassion and hope despite the encroaching darkness that threatened to engulf him. Rather than push him down further she said,
“Go to her then and just talk then tell me what happens between the two of you. You need to talk to each other about all of this.” Othello nodded and called Jiu and the two met at a library where Minji was studying new spells. She had reached a wall when Othello arrived. She looked up and smiled when he brought their mutual favorite snack to her.
“My hero,” she said smiling.
“Oh please none of that,”
“Why I thought you liked being the courageous hero who rises above all evil including the darkness in his heart,” Minji questioned.
Othello sighed as he rolled up his sleeves and sat next to Minji, “I don’t know each day I feel less and less heroic.”
Minji nodded before saying, “Well I think you handle yourself well. Especially with old magic raging through you,”
“Old Magic?”
“Yes, Old Magic. The fury of the gods and their kind lives and breathes through you. Can’t you feel it?”Minji asked.
“Um not that I know of,” Othello answered.
Minji smiled and said, “Tell me then what haunts you when you sleep at night?”
“The dragon tortoise in the shadows of my mind,” Orion answered unprompted. He looked at Minji whose magic lines were flowing magenta. She smiled before saying. As they drew closer Othello’s began to glow as well a complimentary teal. Their eyes locked as their powers mixed and suppressed emotion rose to the surface with rapacious expressions of affection.
Minji got from her chair and plunged into an intense kiss with Othello their hearts screaming jubilantly at the release as they kissed memories flowed between them as the old magic brought them closer. Minji saw the harsh training Othello faced under Lorgar and his father. She felt the scorching sun of his planet. She felt the long hours of study, while Othello felt Minji’s sadness and fear of rejection. He felt her years of training to become something only for them to be cast aside at first. Anger rises within both of them as their auras mix and mash their minds, and souls together in a soup of turgid emotions. Their kiss breaks and their eyes lock again before they come from their mutual high and duty takes precedence. They separate and get up as the auras mellow out. Before going back to studying.
In a dimly lit study, the air filled with the subtle scent of aged parchment and ink, Minji found herself standing close to Othello as they pored over an ancient codex. The faint glow of magical lines pulsed beneath Othello’s skin, a signature of his connection to the arcane. As Minji reached over to point out a passage, her fingers brushed lightly against his hand, causing their magic lines to momentarily spark and intertwine.
Startled, Minji drew back slightly, her eyes widening as she observed the phenomenon. "Othello," she said softly, awe and curiosity lacing her voice. "Look at that."
Othello glanced down at his hand, noticing the subtle dance of energy between them. His lines, normally a steady teal, shimmered as they wove seamlessly with Jiu’s fiery magenta. The colors merged into a vibrant purple, creating a harmonious display of their combined power. As the aurora danced above they wondered why then and what it meant.
"Wow," Othello murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. He was as captivated as Minji by the sight, the lines illuminating the space between them with a gentle glow.
Minji leaned closer, examining the intricate patterns their magic had formed. "I've never seen anything like this," she admitted, her tone a mix of wonder and disbelief. "It's as if our magic recognizes each other."
Othello nodded, feeling a strange sense of connection he hadn’t fully comprehended before. "It’s like they’re meant to work together," he said, the realization settling in with a mix of amazement and comfort.
Their proximity allowed Minji to notice the fatigue etched into Othello’s features more clearly. The glow of their magic highlighted the shadows under his eyes, a testament to his recent struggles, but she also saw jubilation and peace. It made her heart swell with joy.
"Othello," Minji said gently, her concern evident. "You’re carrying so much on your own. Maybe it’s time you let someone share that burden."
He met her gaze, seeing the sincerity and care reflected in her eyes. The magic lines between them pulsed again, a silent promise of strength and unity. "Maybe you’re right," he admitted, feeling the weight on his shoulders lighten ever so slightly.
He met her gaze, seeing the sincerity and care reflected in her eyes. The magic lines between them pulsed again, a silent promise of strength and unity. "Maybe you’re right," he admitted, feeling the weight on his shoulders lighten ever so slightly.
Minji smiled, a warmth spreading through her at the thought of supporting him in more ways than one. "We make a pretty good team," she said, her voice playful yet sincere.
Othello chuckled, nodding in agreement. "We always have the only reason it’s not more well-known is because Leito had a crush on you and wanted to woo you,”
Minji’s eyes narrowed as she realized that they had been orchestrated apart, and her heart became heavy.
As they returned their focus to the text, their hands still closed, the magic lines continued their silent dance silently weaving the hound and The Tiger together in the weave of fate. Eventually, both collapsed after reading spells and psionics for hours.
The next day Othello woke up and saw that Minji had a psionic symbol between her shoulders that mirrored his except hers except instead of a hellhound it was an exalted tiger. At this point, Othello was so unfazed that it didn’t matter. Realizing he needed to go back to his home with Yoohyeon. As he leaves he feels guilt for leaving Minji alone.
On arriving back Yoohyeon is not alone and is talking with Timothy. Yoohyeon smiles and hugs Othello she is surprised he smells like old books and smores. She expected him to smell like Minji and when he doesn’t it confuses her.
“Did you talk to Jiu?” She asked. Othello nodded and explained how he helped her study a spell on emotional understanding,” Yoohyeon laughed which Timothy mirrored.
“Jiu is always studying,” Timothy lamented, and both Yoohyeon and Othello nodded.
Two weeks later
The bright light from the high, narrow windows of Lorgar's study cast shadows across the room. Ancient tomes and scrolls lined the shelves, their worn spines testaments to centuries of accumulated wisdom. Orion stood at the doorway, hesitating for a moment before entering. Crossing this border made the last few weeks and the upcoming expedition very real and the stakes that came with it very high.
"Lorgar," Orion said, his voice steady but with an undercurrent of tension.
Lorgar looked up from the parchment he was studying, his eyes sharp and attentive. "Orion. Come in. What news do you bring?"
Orion approached, stopping at the large oak desk that separated them. "The expedition is set to depart later today. Leito has invited Codex Keepers Freyjar, Ayara, Leovold, Yuta, and Yato.
Lorgar chuckled knowingly as he remembered when all of them were training and all used to be friends but not work colleagues at best. He sighed lamenting the political nature of this title. He noticed Orion’s unease.
Lorgar leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers as he considered this. "Why does their presence concern you?"
Orion shifted his weight, the anxiety he tried to mask seeping through. "I don't trust their motives, especially when fear drives decisions. Leito's
Fear and desire to save his family pushes him to seek out “the strongest” but in some cases, they might not be the best ."
Lorgar nodded, his expression thoughtful. "And Yoohyeon? How is she handling this?"
Orion hesitated, then spoke with a mix of regret and relief. "Honestly fully unsure sir. I know she and the rest of her coven are coming but I couldn’t tell you her emotional state right now. We broke up. It was mutual, and we're still friends. But it feels strange not having her by my side like before."
The Loremaster studied Orion closely, noting the subtle changes in his demeanor. The energy around Orion seemed different—stronger, more vibrant. The magic lines beneath his skin pulsed with an intensity that was hard to ignore.
"Your magic," Lorgar remarked, his gaze narrowing. "It's grown stronger. And your psionics too. I can sense it. Have you been training?"
Orion shook his head. "In magic No I haven’t been training. I've just been spending time with Jiu, studying with her like we used to. It feels... natural."
Lorgar's expression shifted, a hint of concern clouding his eyes. "Jiu? Why does that name sound familiar?
“Oh yeah, Jiu is the witch's name for Minji we used to run around the city together,”
Lorgar’s concern grew he had separated the pair to stop a soul bond, but it seemed it was too late.
Orion met Lorgar's gaze, a mix of defiance and confusion in his eyes. "Anything else you want to talk about sir?"
Lorgar sighed, rising from his chair and pacing slowly. "Orion, the reason Lady Sunshine and I separated you two was not just for your safety but to protect you both from external manipulation. Your combined potential is immense, and in the wrong hands, it could be disastrous."
Orion remained silent, absorbing Lorgar's words. The weight of his mentor's concern settled heavily on him.
"I'll be cautious," Orion finally said, his tone resolute. "But I can't ignore the bond we have, especially when everything feels so uncertain."
Lorgar stopped, placing a reassuring hand on Orion's shoulder. "I trust your judgment, but remember the responsibility that comes with power. Keep me informed, and take care as you embark on this expedition."
Orion nodded, feeling a mixture of gratitude and determination. "I will, Lorgar. Thank you." After that, he walked away to get packed.
The communication crystal glowed faintly on Lorgar's desk, casting a soft light across the room. Lorgar took a deep breath before activating it, feeling the familiar tingle of magic as it connected him to Lady Sunshine across the stars.
Her image flickered into view, regal and serene despite the distance. Her eyes, sharp as ever, met his with a knowing gaze.
"Lorgar," she greeted, her voice warm yet with an undercurrent of wisdom. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
He hesitated briefly, then spoke, his tone tinged with concern. "It's about Othello and Minji. The bond between them... I can sense it growing stronger, beyond what we tried to prevent."
Lady Sunshine nodded as if she had anticipated this conversation. "I know. It's a bond forged by Old Magic, Lorgar. We can no longer stop it."
Lorgar frowned, the weight of her words settling heavily on him. "Old Magic? I suspected something unusual, but I didn't realize it ran so deep."
"Yes," Lady Sunshine confirmed, her expression softening. "From the moment they first laid eyes on each other, the magic recognized their connection. It wove their destinies together in ways even we couldn't foresee."
Lorgar leaned back in his chair, absorbing this revelation. "And there's nothing we can do to alter it?"
Lady Sunshine shook her head gently. "No. Old Magic is beyond our control, and it chose them for a reason. We can only guide them and ensure they understand the responsibility and power their bond brings."
He sighed, his initial resistance giving way to acceptance. "I see. I've noticed how their magic and psionics are amplifying, intertwining in ways that defy logic."
"Precisely," Lady Sunshine agreed. "And while it may be daunting, their union could bring balance to the chaos around us. They complement each other, tempering strengths and weaknesses."
Lorgar nodded slowly, the tension in his shoulders easing as he accepted the inevitable. "Then we must trust them to handle it wisely and provide the support they need."
"Exactly," Lady Sunshine replied, her confidence in the young duo evident. "Their bond is not something to fear but to nurture. With guidance, they will achieve great things."
The call ended with an understanding between the two mentors. Lorgar sat back, contemplating the future with a renewed sense of purpose and a touch of hope.
The spaceport buzzed with activity, stalls brimming with exotic goods, and the air filled with the scent of spices and freshly baked bread. Jiu, wandered through the bustling streets, taking in the vibrant sights and sounds. She was enjoying a rare moment of peace, away from the responsibilities and pressures of her position, which also meant she was hunting for a snack much like her favorite Codex Keeper.
As she paused to examine a stall displaying intricate jewelry, Codex Keeper Freyjar approached, his confident demeanor unmistakable. He had been persistent in his attempts to win her affections, despite her clear disinterest.
"Jiu," Freyjar greeted with a charming smile, stepping into her personal space. "I was hoping I'd run into you today. Perhaps you'd like to join me for a meal? I know a place with the finest cuisine. All the snacks can't be good for your weight."
Jiu hid her disdain by offering a polite smile. In the past, she would have tolerated Freyjar's disrespect for a free meal but she was past that, stepping back slightly to re-establish her boundaries. "Thank you, Freyjar, but I have other plans."
Freyjar's smile faltered, a hint of frustration crossing his features. "You always seem to have plans. Surely you can spare some time for a fellow Keeper."
Before Jiu could respond, Freyjar's tone shifted, becoming more insistent. "I've heard about your connection with that Keeper Orion, and how you two have been spending more time together. You could do better, you know."
Jiu's expression hardened as her patience wore thin. "My relationships are not your concern, Freyjar. Orion and I have always been close."
Freyjar's eyes darkened, his frustration turning to anger. He took a step closer, his voice lowering. "You deserve someone who can truly appreciate you, Jiu. Someone like me."
Before the situation could escalate further, Orion appeared, having noticed the exchange from a distance. He moved swiftly, positioning himself between Jiu and Freyjar.
"Is there a problem here?" Orion asked, his voice calm but firm, his presence radiating authority.
Freyjar sneered, his bravado faltering under Orion's gaze. Orion was no longer the timid and tepid Codex Keeper he was when he started this one was colder and more ready to take action when need be, "Just a friendly conversation, Orion. No need to interfere."
Orion met Freyjar's gaze evenly, his expression unyielding. "Ward witch Jiu has made her feelings clear. I suggest you respect her wishes."
Freyjar hesitated, glancing between Jiu and Orion. The power dynamic was palpable, and he could feel the weight of Orion's presence pressing down on him.
"Fine," Freyjar muttered, backing away with a forced smile. "No harm meant."
As Freyjar retreated, Othello turned to Minji, his expression softening. "Are you okay?"
Minji nodded gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you, Othello. I appreciate it."
He smiled, the tension in his posture easing. "Anytime. I won't let anyone trouble you."
They continued their stroll through the spaceport together, a silent understanding between them. Minji felt a sense of relief and safety with Othello by her side. On the way, Othello picked up bread for him and Minji to eat before reporting to the ship. Once there they went their separate ways. They saw more of each other here and there as they both helped the crew load up the Ship, and fell into old patterns.
Yoohyeon and Leovold also began helping inspired by Orion and Jiu's leadership skills. At times the crew came to Jiu and Orion for guidance with loading and preparations despite not being the captains themselves.
Time of Departure.
"Okay, room 810," Orion said as he opened the door. He had hoped to not be with Sua as his Ward witch for their sector, due to her more aggressive tendencies, and aura. As the door opened he was met by a familiar jet black hair. The box of Choco Pies he was carrying suddenly became lighter, as he smiled seeing Jiu.
"Why if it isn't my favorite little Codex Keeper? Jiu cooed." Orion smiled happy to be paired with her. As he sets the Choco Pies down Jiu squeals.
"I can't believe they let you bring these?" she said,"
"Well, I did make some sacrifices in terms of sleeping clothes but it was worth it as this is probably going to be a rough expedition," Orion says.
Jiu tilted her head confused and asked "Why?"
"Well call it a magic vision," Orion responded, and Jiu chuckled.
The first few days on the ship were quiet as they traveled. Jiu and Orion helped the crew but on the off time kept to themselves.
The other Ward Witches and Codex Keepers wondered what they could be doing. During this time Sua, Siyeon, Ayara, and Leovold were gossiping about what they could be doing.
In the bustling common area of the ship, Sua, Siyeon, Ayara, and Leovold gathered around a table laden with snacks and steaming cups of tea. The hum of activity around them created a lively backdrop for their conversation.
"I swear, I haven’t seen Jiu and Orion at any of the usual hangouts lately," Sua remarked, taking a sip of her tea. "It's like they’ve disappeared every time they're off duty."
Siyeon nodded, a mischievous grin playing on her lips. "Right? I heard they’ve been spending a lot of time together, just the two of them. Makes you wonder what they're up to."
Ayara leaned in, her curiosity piqued. "I saw them sneaking out of the library the other day, looking all mysterious. Maybe they’re working on some secret project or something."
Leovold chuckled, shaking his head. "Knowing Orion, it’s probably some intense study session. But who knows? They’ve always had that spark between them."
Sua raised an eyebrow, her tone playful. "You think it’s just about studying? I mean, come on. They’ve been practically inseparable since the last mission."
Siyeon joined in, her eyes twinkling with intrigue. "Exactly! I bet there's more going on. Maybe they’re planning something big or…"
Ayara leaned back, considering the possibilities. "Well, whatever it is, they seem focused. It's like they're in their little world when they're together."
Leovold sighed, feigning exasperation. "If only they’d share some of that genius with the rest of us. Or at least tell us what's so interesting that they keep ditching us."
The group erupted in laughter, the mystery surrounding Jiu and Orion adding a playful edge to their camaraderie.
"Let’s just hope they aren’t getting into trouble," Sua quipped, a wink in her voice.
Siyeon shrugged, a smirk on her face. "Or if they are, it’s the fun kind."
Leovold looked at them confused and asked, "What could you mean?"
Sua rolled her eyes and said, "Oh, I bet they are having wild sex. I mean have you seen how close they are at meals? Jiu for sure has that boy on a leash in more ways than one." Sua teased.
Leovold shook his head.
"Pious little Orion, and Patron saint of Motherhood Jiu, engaging in such Lewd acts impossible."
Ayara who sat close to Siyeon paused and said, "Maybe we can ask them tonight during dinner?"
Sua and Siyeon laughed as they nodded.
At this moment, Jiu and Orion were in the gym, practicing their abilities. Jiu was focusing on her psionics, while Orion was honing his magic. The scene mirrored one of their first training sessions back on the Prime Federation planet.
The training grounds were bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, casting long shadows across the field. The air was filled with the sounds of distant chirping birds and the rhythmic clashing of practice weapons. Orion and Jiu stood opposite each other, their expressions focused yet friendly.
"Ready?" Jiu asked, a playful glint in her eyes as she prepared her stance.
"Always," Orion replied with a confident nod, raising his arms in preparation. Memories flowed between them as the scene shifted between the past and the present.
In the present, Jiu used her psionics to create a pillar of fire to absorb Orion's fire arrows. As they slung magic at each other, the scene transitioned to the past.
In the past, they began with Orion's psionics flaring to life. A shimmering aura enveloped him, fortifying his defenses. His focus was clear: to create impenetrable barriers and arm himself with unyielding strength. A translucent shield materialized before him, crackling with energy, and the ground beneath his feet hardened as if to anchor him in place.
Jiu watched with admiration, impressed by Orion's ability to fortify and protect. "You like your shields, don't you?" she teased, launching a spell of her own.
Her hands moved gracefully through the air, weaving intricate patterns that summoned a swirling vortex of colorful magic. The spell expanded rapidly, its brilliant hues reflecting her preference for big, expressive displays of power. Sparks danced around her, and the energy surged toward Orion with vibrant intensity.
Shifting back to the present, Orion created four lightning chains that Jiu used her psionic armament to absorb. She smiled and said, "I know all your tricks, magic man."
"Not all. I've been working on something secret you don't even know," Orion replied.
As he spoke, he combined his psionics and magic into his longsword, which he had crafted after defeating the dragon Bayle from its skeleton. He dodged Jiu's psionic fist before swinging his mighty blade. A ripple of magic and psionics arced off his blade and headed straight for her. Jiu watched the teal tide race toward her in awe. She always thought Orion would make a great ward witch, and to see her prediction proven amazed her.
Back in the past, Orion braced himself, his shield absorbing the impact of Jiu's spell. The ground beneath him remained firm, his fortification psionics holding strong. "And you never hold back, do you?" he countered with a grin, lowering his shield.
Jiu laughed, the sound light and carefree. "Why hold back when you can make a statement?"
Their training session continued as a harmonious blend of contrasting styles. Orion's fortification and armament psionics emphasized control and resilience, while Jiu's spells were a testament to her creativity and flair. They moved in sync, a testament to their years of friendship and understanding.
In the present, Jiu watched as, instead of being attacked by Orion's wave, the wave lifted her and spun her around in a dance of color. She smiled, realizing the attack was non-lethal.
"You like it?" Orion asked as he approached her as she was brought down.
"It can determine friend or foe. It annihilates foes but protects friends. I call it Masamune," Orion explained, and Jiu smiled.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the field, they paused to catch their breath. Orion lowered his shield, the energy dissipating, and Jiu let her spell fade away, the colors lingering in the air like a fading rainbow.
Unbeknownst to them, Freyjar watched with a dulled fury.
"Orion can use magic, and Jiu can use psionics?" he mulled over. His anger flared. "No, I can use this to my advantage. I just have to get crafty." Freyjar thought to himself as he saw his favorite tool approaching.
"Hey Yoohyeon, long time no see," he said.
At dinner, a sweaty Orion and Jiu entered the mess hall to hoots and hollers from their friends and the crew.
"You two look messy. Were you having fun?" Sua asked.
"Um, Orion and I were training," Jiu explained, confused.
Sua and Siyeon sighed before leaving with Ayara and Leovold.
"That was so weird, huh?" Jiu said.
Orion nodded, replying, "Yeah, they seemed disappointed."
Yoohyeon and Leito arrived a few moments later.
"Oh, Orion and Jiu, just the two I wanted to see," Leito said happily.
Orion and Jiu looked up at the two.
"Oh, you two look so cute together," Jiu teased to Yoohyeon and Leito.
Yoohyeon and Leito blushed as they sat down.
"Jiu, stop, you're embarrassing them. What's up, Leito?"
"Um, well, we are entering the pirate territory and—" Before he could finish his sentence, the ship was hit by space warp harpoons.
"Dear Federation members, you are being boarded by the legendary pirate Gonti. Please do not resist or you will be killed. Unless your names are Orion the Pirate Slayer and Jiu the Fel-Handed. You will be killed." A voice announced as a group of pirates entered the mess hall. Jiu and Orion looked at each other before getting up. Jiu threw her hand up, and Arane weave swept up the four pirates. Orion took their stunners from them and activated his psionics.
"May my enemies' weapons fall before my feet and I claim victory," Orion said as runes surrounded his eyes, casting the spell Future Sight.
Jiu smiled as they began walking to the helm. Orion saw the first pirate coming around the corner in three... two... one. He shot the pirate with the stunner and stepped over the unconscious body before continuing his walk with Jiu.
Jiu shot the next pirate with a witch bolt, leaving another pirate suspended in her arcane weave. This pattern continued as they fought their way to the front, where Gonti awaited.
When they arrived, Jiu and Orion unleashed a combination psionic spell called Retrieval. They directed it at the pirate leader, and all of his crew were deposited back on their ship, unconscious.
The captain turned to the Ward Witch and Codex Keeper, surprised before the duo left without a word.
Back in their quarters, Jiu hopped into Orion's bed. She felt the Eldorian's heart speed up and smiled as she hugged him tight.
"what's going on you're more clingy than normal today?" Orion asked.
Jiu smiled and said, "What I can't want to be close to my best friend?" Jiu's tone held an unspoken desire that permeated the air between them.
"Okay, I'll bite," Orion said as he closed his book to face her. Jiu kissed his nose with a smile. He looked at her confused before kissing her back. The emotions and auras mix once more. However this time there were no obstacles to their hearts.
Jiu ripped off Orion's shirt. Her hands found purchase roaming his torso. Her hunger was no longer as she ripped open her top.
"Touch me Othello," Jiu said
"Okay Minji," Othello said as his hands ran over her body finding a home on her firm ass. As their auras clashed in their fervor kissed and stripped each other. When the gaze cleared they were both naked and their eyes locked. Othello lifted Minji and brought her down forcibly on his rod. Minji moaned she’s not tight per se but she is snug. He pussy’s viscous walls slosh over Orion’s walls as she sheathes him. Unable to control either of their bodies they both cum relentlessly. After their bodies calm down Minji lies next to Othello and says,
“Now we’re officially together.” Othello smiles and kisses her again.
While the couple consummated their relationship
Freyjar sat alone in his lair, the dim light from the holographic displays casting eerie shadows on his face. His eyes narrowed as he scrolled through information about Orion and Jiu, their recent activities and abilities prominently featured.
"Orion and Jiu," Freyjar muttered to himself, a cruel smile playing on his lips. "Powerful, skilled, and, most importantly, vulnerable."
He tapped a few commands on the console, bringing up a detailed map of their ship’s route. His gaze shifted to a list of potential targets and weaknesses he had compiled.
"Let’s see how they handle a little... pressure," he mused, his fingers hovering over a set of coordinates. "A well-timed attack could unsettle them. But first, I need a distraction."
Freyjar's mind raced with possibilities. He could use his influence to incite internal conflict among the crew, creating discord and confusion. He could also set up a series of traps or misinformation to mislead Orion and Jiu.
"Yes," he said, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. "I'll play on their fears and insecurities. And when they’re at their most vulnerable, I’ll strike."
He reached for a communicator, dialing a number with practiced ease. "It’s time to put the plan into action. Make sure the distractions are in place and the intel is accurate. We need them off balance and unprepared."
As he spoke, Freyjar’s eyes gleamed with malevolent intent. The pieces of his plan were falling into place, and he was eager to see the chaos that would ensue.
With the preparations underway, Freyjar leaned back in his chair, a satisfied chuckle escaping his lips. "Let the games begin."
Minji’s dream started normally. The afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the garden, where Minji and Othello sat on a stone bench, enjoying a rare moment of leisure. The gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze created a serene backdrop as they chatted and laughed, temporarily free from their duties.
Their conversation was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a mysterious figure. A witch with raven-black hair and piercing eyes approached them, her dark robes flowing like shadows in the wind. There was an air of mystery about her as if she had stepped out of a different time and place.
“Greetings, Minji and Othello,” the witch said, her voice smooth and enigmatic. “I am Morrigan, a seer. I have a message for you, a vision that concerns your future.”
Othello raised an eyebrow, exchanging a glance with Minji. They were both intrigued but wary. “What kind of vision?” he asked cautiously.
Morrigan’s eyes seemed to see beyond the present moment, gazing into some unseen realm. “I see an expedition, one that will test your bonds and challenge your strengths. Your union, whether of spirit or something more, will change the world in ways you cannot yet comprehend.”
Minji tilted her head, curiosity piqued. “Our union? What do you mean by that?”
The witch smiled cryptically. “Your paths are intertwined. Together, you have the power to alter destinies and forge a new future. But be wary, for such power can attract both allies and adversaries.”
Othello chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood. “Well, that’s quite a prophecy. But we’re just friends enjoying a day off.”
Morrigan’s expression softened, though her eyes remained intense. “Perhaps. But do not underestimate the strength of friendship and the power of shared goals.”
With that, Morrigan turned and disappeared as quickly as she had arrived, leaving Minji and Othello to ponder her words. A brief silence fell between them, broken only by the distant call of a bird.
Minji shrugged, brushing off the encounter. “That was… interesting. But I think she might be reading too much into things.”
Othello nodded in agreement, though the witch’s words lingered in his mind. “Yeah, probably just a vague prophecy. Still, it does make you think.”
They resumed their conversation, trying to recapture the light-heartedness of earlier. But despite their dismissal, the shadow of Morrigan’s vision lingered, hinting at the adventures and challenges that awaited them on the horizon.
The next day Minji woke up from the same nightmare she’d been having for the past week except she was wrapped in Othello’s arms her rapid shaking woke him up and groggily he summoned Abyssal Splitter (the longsword from earlier). Minji laughed watching this. She set his arms down and said,
“Don’t worry I just had a nightmare” Minji explained. Othello nodded and held Minji tight. She smiled feeling safe and comfortable in his embrace.
Nearing the end of the expedition. Orion and Jiu were feeling relaxed and relieved at how quiet it had been. The quiet couldn’t last though.
Their ship entered Ventus and Terran space where they received the following message.
“Dear federation this is Terra and Ventus. We have been informed that the bioweapons Jiu and Orion. We will not be intimidated and to show this we will blow up any ships that try to dock in our ports. So turn around, and leave the sector.”
The command room of the ship was tense, the air thick with the weight of recent threats. The captain replayed the message to everyone, they, had issued an ultimatum that left the crew on edge.
The ship’s captain, a seasoned veteran with a stern demeanor, sat at the head of the table, flanked by Jiu and Orion. The rest of the crew, the other codex keepers and ward witches, including Freyjar, Yoohyeon, and a few other key members, filled the seats around them.
“We can’t just ignore Terra and Ventus,” the captain said, drumming his fingers on the table. “They have the authority and the means to make our lives very difficult.”
Jiu leaned forward, her expression resolute. “We need to stand our ground. They’re trying to intimidate us, but we can’t let them bully us into submission.”
Orion nodded in agreement. “We’ve faced worse odds before. Together, we can handle whatever they throw at us.”
Freyjar cleared his throat, drawing the room’s attention. “There is one way to appease them and avoid further conflict,” he suggested, his tone careful but insidious. “We could turn in Jiu and Orion as a show of good faith.”
The room erupted into shocked murmurs and protests. Yoohyeon shot Freyjar a withering glare, while Orion and Jiu exchanged a glance of disbelief.
“Explain yourself, Freyjar,” the captain demanded, his voice cutting through the chaos.
Freyjar’s eyes gleamed with a mix of triumph and malice. “Jiu and Orion are hiding something significant. They can both use psionics and magic—a dangerous combination that Terra and Ventus would be very interested in.”
The revelation hit the crew like a thunderclap. Gasps of astonishment and disbelief echoed around the room. Some crew members exchanged worried glances, while others stared at Jiu and Orion in newfound fear.
Jiu remained calm, though her eyes burned with defiance. “Yes, we can use both. But that doesn’t make us a threat. We’ve been using our abilities to protect and serve this ship.”
Orion stepped forward, his presence commanding respect. “We’ve always been transparent with those who needed to know. Freyjar’s suggestion is a betrayal, pure and simple.”
The captain looked between Jiu and Orion, then at the rest of the crew. “We’re a team. We don’t turn on each other. Not now, not ever.”
Freyjar, sensing the room’s hostility, tried to backtrack. “I only meant to protect the crew—”
“By selling our friends out?” Yoohyeon interrupted, her voice sharp with indignation. “You’re the one putting us all in danger.”
The room descended into chaos once more, accusations flying and alliances being questioned. Amidst the uproar, Jiu and Orion stood firm, their bond and resolve unshaken by Freyjar’s treachery.
As the captain restored order, he made a decision. “We’ll deal with Terra and Ventus on our terms. And we’ll do it together. Anyone who can’t support that is free to leave this ship.”
No one left, “now Jiu and Orion what do we do now?” The captain asked deferring to the ward witch and her Codex Keeper.
“We finish the mission,” Orion and Jiu said at the same time.
“But how?” Leito said worriedly.
“Jiu and I will use our powers to make a barrier around the ship and fly us into safety you all will have to negotiate.”
Leito Yoohyeon Sua, and Leovold nod. The meeting is fully adjourned and Orion finds Freyjar.
“Why would you do this?”
Freyjar looks startled “Why would I do what Orion?”
“Why would you suggest Jiu and I turn ourselves in you know how the core planets don’t like us.”
“Well, I figured it was the best course of action since you both are so virtuous and figured you would do the right thing.”
“I can’t believe you Freyjar after all this time you haven’t learned anything,” Orion spoke annoyed and tired before leaving. Freyjar felt victorious because no matter what happened they were going to either be excommunicated or executed leaving the power line straight for him.
The night Before flying into The no-fly zone Orion and Jiu found themselves alone.
Othello and Minji stared at each other for some time before Minji said, “You and I us against the world again.” Othello laughed before saying
“As if destined by fate.”
“You know when I met you after you graduated you looked so different I couldn’t recognize you. The scar across your nose the halo around your temple. It all gave off holy warrior of God and less Codex keeper.” Minji explained
“I wasn’t better either especially since you were with Freyjar at the time. The long hair and the dark vibe were very different from the Minji I met all those years ago.”
“Yeah it went something like”
The library was a haven of silence, its towering shelves filled with dusty tomes and ancient scrolls. Sunlight streamed through the tall windows, casting patterns on the worn wooden floors. Minji sat across from Othello at a large oak table, her fingers drumming lightly on the open book before her.
Othello was deeply engrossed in his reading, his eyes scanning the pages with intense focus. Minji, on the other hand, was struggling to maintain her concentration. She sighed, closing her book with a soft thud.
“Othello,” Minji whispered, trying not to disturb the library’s serene atmosphere. “I’m getting bored. Let’s go get food.”
Othello looked up, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He could never resist Minji’s playful charm. “Alright,” he agreed, marking his place before closing his book. “But only if you promise we’ll come back and finish studying later.”
Minji grinned, already gathering her things. “Deal!”
They left the library, stepping out into the bustling streets. The city was alive with activity, vendors calling out to passersby, and the air filled with the scent of street food. As they wandered in search of a meal, their easy laughter echoed through the alleyways.
Their journey took an unexpected turn when they stumbled upon a suspicious scene: a group of men loading unconscious figures into the back of a van. Minji and Othello exchanged a glance, their instincts kicking in.
“We can’t just ignore this,” Othello said, his voice low but resolute.
Minji nodded, her expression serious. “Let’s stop them.”
Together, they sprang into action. Minji summoned a swirling mass of magic, her power crackling with intensity. Othello activated his psionics, a shimmering aura enveloping him as he moved. Their combined abilities created a force of immense power, ripping through the alley with explosive energy.
In the chaos, the traffickers were subdued, but the destruction was immense. The building around them trembled and collapsed, reduced to rubble in the aftermath of their intervention.
As the dust settled, their mentors arrived, faces etched with disbelief and disapproval. The reprimand was swift and stern, their mentors’ voices echoing in the ruins of what had once been an apartment complex.
“You acted recklessly,” Lady Sunshine, Minji’s mentor, scolded, her tone sharp with disappointment. “The damage you’ve caused is unacceptable.”
Lorgar, Othello’s mentor, nodded in agreement. “You need to understand the consequences of wielding such power.”
Othello defended himself by saying, “They were trafficking people I couldn’t stand idly by.”
“Dammit Othello. You can’t go around stopping every bad thing someone does.”
Othello’s opinion of Lorgar and the world changed with that statement. He walked over to Minji afterward and Lady Sunshine stood in front of him.
“You foolish child. You could have killed all these people in pursuit of some Childish heroics.”
Her words struck a nerve and Othello responded,
“Well maybe if people did their job I wouldn’t have to play the hero. Maybe if you weren’t all so afraid these people wouldn’t exist,” Lady Sunshine shot a spell at the petulant child only to react in surprise when it bounced off. Lady Sunshine’s eyes narrowed as she stared at the defiant boy. Before saying,
“Come Minji we have better things to be doing than staying with this riff-raff”
Minji and Othello exchanged a guilty look, realizing the severity of their actions. Though they had stopped the traffickers, the cost had been too high, and that was the last time they saw each other for almost four years until one and a half years ago, but now no artificial machinations would separate the lovers again.
Minji smiled and then kissed. Then kissed him again.
“Babe I need you,” Minji said before taking off her top. Her petite breasts were white in the present moonlight. Minji smiled as Othello took one into his mouth as she ground on his crotch.
She worked to undo both of their pants while Othello kissed and sucked on her upper body. Leaving Minji breathless and aroused.
When both were properly disrobed Minji sat on Othello’s lap before beginning to ride him. Her snug walls happily embraced his rod as Othello began to chant Minji’s name. Minji moaned happily as she took him in and out of her. The couple caught up in their pleasure didn’t keep track of their impending release until it was too late, and as both came violently in the other a wave of contentment washed over them. They lay in bed as their contentment led both to a peaceful rest.
I can tell you that their plan worked and it was a huge feat of magical and psionic prowess. I could tell you that their auras were so massive and so impressive that watching them achieve another impressive feat of protecting a voyager ship from space rail fire and atomic weapons was amazing and awe-inspiring but you’ve seen and read about how much stronger they are than everyone else. So I’m going to end on their actual last impressive feat.
When the ship arrived back in Oretia (the prime Federation planet) the couple were called into an impeachment. Their powers had been deemed too dangerous and so they must be split up again. When challenged by others Codex Orion and Ward Witch Jiu warped themselves to Paradiso. Normally this would take at least 5 of both but as I previously stated they were just that powerful. That strong and much better than their contemporaries. When they were found weeks later they had three words for their respective orders.
“We are retired” Lorgar, Lady Sunshine, Yoohyeon, Leito. Smiled at them as they sat on the beach living in peace finally able to enjoy the food they wanted when they wanted. They even invited their friends and family over for dinner, while watching the sunset.
