After dinner, Victoria tried to persuade Michael to fix some things around their house while Yara got the Don't Wake the Llama back out. "I admit I had a bit of an agenda inviting you over here. If I go and tend to Poppy, who I can hear crying upstairs, will you please fix our toilet and sink? I keep trying but they keep breaking! It's wearing me out and I know you're better at these things than I am."

"Aw, Victoria, you don't have to even ask. Of course I'll help out. Isn't Domingo doing anything?"

Victoria rolled her eyes. "Don't get me started on him. He's getting on my nerves a bit, always disappearing to his shop. I mean, look at him just lounging over there."

Domingo: Is she talking about me?

While Yara played DWTL with Domingo and Victoria fussed over Poppy upstairs, Everett decided to read a cookery book he had found in the bookshelf.

"Don't you want to come and play with us, son?" asked Domingo.

"Actually, this is really interesting, Dad! I think I really want to learn about cooking."

And just like that, we've found Everett's one true hobby.

Meanwhile, Michael managed at last to fix the toilet and sink in the bathroom. Fingers crossed that everything stops breaking now!

That’s #3 in general historical fiction. I may pass out in shock. Thanks to Bookbub, and probably the Netflix show, it’s doing very well! Once it goes off Bookbub tomorrow, it will sink again (rapidly).

But I’ll enjoy it while I have it.
