content warnings: Dentist!Harper, removal of teeth via surgery (off-screen), blood, oral/mouth-fucking, noncon, PC/reader is not happy, (writing is a bit messy as heads up- continues under the cut!)
If Harper were a dentist, you'd be fucked. You could say goodbye to your teeth, because he had claimed them for himself the moment he saw those pretties shine in your mouth. It's like he fell in love.
(Oh... the things he could do with them. The things he could do with you.)
But, as much as he wants both of you, he's patient. Bides his time.
It starts with a normal checkup and cleaning, and maybe your teeth are in good shape, maybe not. Either way, when Harper comes in to examine your teeth and x-rays, he frowns and tells you that you've got some bad cavities, and some other stuff you don't understand. (It's real bad, though, yeah. Might have to pull a couple out, might have to get you dentures, sorry. You'd look real cute with dentures, though!)
(And you're no dentist, but all of that can't possibly be true.)
Harper is smiling the rest of the time time he gives his assessment. It's not unusual for him though, this guy smiles way too much. (And hey, he's a dentist, so maybe he's just showing off what his work can do..?) But this time, it rubs you the wrong way. So you go with your gut and tell him that you'll need time to think about the treatment options, and his smile falters and anger flashes in his eyes for only a moment. But he goes back to his usual smile soon after, though, calmly telling you to take your time, and he'll be right here, waiting to help. His smile doesn't reach his eyes anymore.
Fast forward a few days, things seem normal. You aren't having any dental-related pain/issues, so- and again, you're no dentist- you're almost certain by now that Harper was full of shit. This whole experience still doesn't sit right with you, so you try and call the office to change your dentist, to find out if you even can, but the people on the phone keep redirecting you and you give up, frustrated. But it's fine, you think. You've been doing good so far, you won't need any help from that guy. It's fine.
Except, it's not fine, though. Because you start having excruciating tooth pain, and you don't know where it came from. You didn't bite anything weird, your tooth looks fine in the mirror. You try to solve it yourself, and when that fails, you try elsewhere. But your search engine isn't giving any useful answers and your friends don't know either. It makes it hard to focus, to eat, to talk, so you have no choice but to come in.
You try to come when Harper isn't working, which was hard to figure out, because it feels like the man lives at the fucking place. You've never seen him anywhere else. But, miraculously, you find someone else on call to check you out, and they give you some diagnosis with too many fancy schmancy words, but it's bad and they tell you they're going to have to operate. You're not happy, but the pain is too much for you to resist treatment. So you let them lead to to the operating room and they prep you up. And you feel at ease, because the pain will be gone soon and that creep isn't here. (A part of you feels bad, because maybe you're judging him too early. But he gives you Bad Vibes, and you don't want anything to do with him, honestly.)
They administer anaesthesia, and you faintly feel dread as the last thing you see is Harper coming into the room from the corner of your eye.
(And by then, it's too late. He's got you right where he wants you.)
. . . . . . . .
Your whole mouth feels numb when you wake up, and your tongue feels heavy and it tastes of cotton. The lights are dim, and as soon as it sets in that this isn't a normal recovery room, you start to freak out. You try to move, but you're strapped to the bed, so you can only wait, anxious.
You don't have to wait long, however. Because the door creaks open and footsteps tap tap tap until they're in front of you, and you're met with Harper's smiling face.
Just great. Just Fucking Great.
He crouches down off to the side in front of you, reaching a hand to cup your cheek. (There's a strange rattle when he moves, but you're more focused on other things to think much of it.) If your mouth wasn't full of gauze, you'd bite him in a second. You try to yell, to ask what the fuck is going on, but your speech is muffled and he ignores it in favor for his own.
He explains where you are and why you're here, but he's vague and cryptic and it only agitates you more. You don't understand. He tells you that he's made you better, that you won't suffer the way you did anymore, and by now you've stopped struggling against your restraints to listen. You have no idea what the fuck he's talking about. You don't understand. At least, until he holds up a mirror and removes your gauze.
He removed your fucking teeth.
What the fuck?
You try to scream (in anger or from fear, you're not sure), but your throat is so so dry and the anaesthesia is already wearing off and you go into a half coughing half crying fit. It hurts. So bad. (What the fuck. What the fuck!)
Harper strokes your cheek with his thumb in an attempt to console you, and if he were anyone else, you'd lean into his embrace. But you can't. You Can't. He hushes you, and looks concerned, like he wasn't expecting you to take the news so badly. His frown turns into a smile soon after, though.
A wide one.
He asks you if you want to see something, and you don't nod, but you don't shake your head, either. You're just sniffling and blubbering, a complete mess. You hear that damn rattle again as he rummages through his pocket, and pulls out a jar full of...
Teeth?
Is that yours?
Harper says something, but you don't register it. All you can focus on is that jar, but even then you don't know what to think. His voice is giddy when he talks, and he places the jar by your feet, just out of reach.
He leaves you to process for a minute, occupying himself with hell knows what. But you have barely enough time to gather your bearings before his attention is back on you. The sounds of a clinking belt, a zipper being undone, and a shuffle of fabric occur before you find yourself face to face with his twitching cock. You're not sure what your expression is, maybe that of horror or anger, but Harper enjoys it way too much. He laughs, telling you that he's always wanted to try no teeth, and to not worry, he'll help your throat get wet in no time.
You have barely any time to react before his hand grips the back of your head and slams you onto his cock, and you gag as it invades your mouth. All you can taste is copper, and a mix of blood and precum dribbles from your mouth.
Everything hurts, it's excruciating. You struggle to breathe.
You weakly try to bite down, to do anything, but it only gives the undesired affect, judging by his praise. He continues talking as he assaults your mouth, cock scraping against your stitches as you sob out, unable to do anything. Harper grunts out half finished sentences, cutting himself off with a moan or gasp at the end of each thrust. You can barely make anything said out, but it's not like it matters much to you. (He tells you how much better you look now, how much he prefers the new you. But don't get him wrong, he loves your teeth too, they just.. look better separated.)
He doesn't last long, and you'd call him pathetic if you could talk. But you don't want to egg him on, in fear he'd go for another around. Harper cums with a shudder, semen splattering the back of your throat and you gag and cough and gasp and sputter as he removes his cock from your sore mouth, a trail of pinkened fluid following. You feel empty as he cleans you up, and you don't resist when he opens your mouth with his fingers to inspect the damage. Harper half speaks half mumbles something about preventing infection (and part of you wishes you would get an infection. If it'll get you out of there.)
Is this going to be your life now? You wonder what you've done to deserve this, if it was your fault.
(Your first mistake was smiling.)

dad’s other boy cat has a heart murmur :( they don’t know what’s causing it. he also has dental disease, and potentially has early stages kidney disease. his bloodwork is wonky but they can’t make a clear diagnosis. i’m so worried because i’m only here for another week and a half and i don’t trust my dad to follow up on it properly. especially because he will need a full cardiac workup in order to determine if his heart is healthy enough to go under anesthesia for a dental, and between that and the dental costs themselves my dad is never going to do it. i’m already taking one of his cats home so she is now my cat and i’ll be paying for all her needed dental work, because he claims he’s too broke and i didn’t trust him to take care of her. but i can’t afford to take this one, and he would not handle the adjustment well (he is VERY attached to my dad and an anxious traveler), and my dad would never let me because this is his favorite cat. but if he’s your supposed favorite cat, why can’t you cash in some of the bitcoin you supposedly have 150k in and get the cat the treatment that he needs? i’m gonna be so on his ass about it until and after i leave, i just really hope his cat is okay in the meantime….

What Are the Benefits of Visiting a Dental Clinic in Hari Nagar?
Dental health is addressed by Dentistry at every stage of life. From baby teeth to permanent teeth, children's dental needs differ from those of adults. Qualified family dentists provide complete oral care. Family dentistry is concerned with dental health and oral hygiene, just as general Dentistry. A family dentist, however, emphasizes the special requirements of kids of all ages.
Strong teeth and gums are important for overall health, according to our dental clinic in Hari Nagar. To help you achieve your optimal level of oral health, our team of highly qualified dental specialists is committed to providing you with the most innovative and effective treatments.
We offer a wide range of services, including prosthodontics, periodontics, implantology, endodontics, orthodontics, general dentistry, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. We have the newest equipment and technology at our state-of-the-art facility to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.
Treatments for Gum disease
Family dentists are aware of how children's teeth develop throughout time as well as the possibility that they may be afraid of the dentist. Family dentists take a soft approach to help kids form lifelong healthy oral hygiene habits and positive connections with routine dental exams. The top dental clinics in Hari Nagar will offer a wide range of services, including more complex procedures like root canals, tooth whitening, and routine checkups and cleanings.
The following six advantages of having a family dentist are:
1. Easy access
Family dentists may treat patients of all ages for a variety of dental issues, so patients won't need to make many trips to the dentist to provide all members of their family routine checkups. Therefore, oral hygiene and cosmetic needs such as veneers, braces, or implants can be taken care of together. The best dentist in Subhash Nagar also offers emergency procedures, such as extractions, to help patients in taking care of any pressing dental difficulties.
2. Scheduled appointments
Family dentists frequently work with patients to schedule an appointment time that works with their schedules. To better serve their patients' requirements, many family dentists, for instance, are willing to accept late appointments.
3. Identifying oral health issues
Early diagnosis of dental issues is facilitated by routine dental checkups. They conduct exams, X-rays, and computer modelling to provide forecasts on oral health problems. A few conditions that can be identified early on include malocclusion, grinding, and attrition brought on by abnormalities in the jaw.
4. Preventive
A family dentist will advise both adults and children on how to prevent serious and widespread issues like tooth decay. They also give the teeth fluoride and sealant treatments.
5. Medication
Of course, they are also in charge of treating dental issues like crowding, misalignment, and other issues. A committed practice will go through all of the available therapy choices with the patient. They will help create a therapy strategy that meets the needs of the patient.
6. Education and updates
To give the patient the finest dental care possible, family dentists will also educate them on proper toothpaste usage, diet, and other topics. They will provide information on the state of the family's oral health as well as the newest techniques and technology in dentistry that can improve the general dental care of the family.
Conclusion
Every member of our staff is dedicated to offering the greatest patient care and customer service to ensure that every patient leaves our clinic smiling. You don't need to look any further for an excellent facility than the Dental Clinic in Hari Nagar. Our commitment to achieving greatness while simultaneously focusing on the well-being of our patients sets us apart. Schedule a meeting with us now to experience the difference for yourself. When looking for a dentist nearby, patients and their families might benefit from knowing what a family dentist does. In terms of the family's dental hygiene, this is the first step toward early identification, prevention, treatment, education, and convenience.

The Treatment-Prevalence Paradox
More widely available treatment ought to abate the rate (and severity) of disease.
Take breast cancer, pitiless killer of over forty thousand American women each year. As early detection and treatment for breast cancer improved since 1989, rates of death from breast cancer plummeted. Or maternal mortality: as antibiotics became more readily available, rates of maternal death in childbirth collapsed. Better and more widely available dental care has meant fewer toothless Americans. And as we developed immunizations and cures for childhood illness, child mortality rates nose-dived.
And yet as treatments for anxiety and depression have become more sophisticated and more readily available, adolescent anxiety and depression have ballooned.
I’m not the only one to have found something fishy in the fact that more treatment has not resulted in less depression. A group of academic researchers recently noticed the same. They published a peer-reviewed paper titled “More Treatment but No Less Depression: The Treatment-Prevalence Paradox.” The authors note that treatment for major depression has become much more widely available (and, in their view, improved) since the 1980s worldwide. And yet in not a single Western country has this treatment made a dent in the incidence of major depressive disorder. Many countries saw an increase.
“The increased availability of effective treatments should shorten depressive episodes, reduce relapses, and curtail recurrences. Combined, these treatment advances unequivocally should result in lower point-prevalence estimates of depression,” they write. “Have these reductions occurred? The empirical answer clearly is NO.”
I checked with several of the paper’s authors. Two confirmed that the same might be said for anxiety. As treatment has become more widely available and dispersed, point-prevalence rates should go down. They have not. And while the authors admit that there was likely more depression in the past than we realized, they argue that there is at least as much, and probably more, depression now.
After generations of increased intervention, that shouldn’t be the case. More access to antibiotics should spell fewer deaths from infection. And more generally available therapy should spell less depression.
Instead, adolescent mental health has been in steady decline since the 1950s. Between 1990 and 2007 (before any teens had smartphones), the number of mentally ill children rose thirty-five-fold. And while overdiagnosis or the expansion of definitions of mental illness may partially account for this rapid change, it is hard to dismiss or contextualize away the startling rise in teen suicide: “Between 1950 and 1988, the proportion of adolescents aged between fifteen and nineteen who killed themselves quadrupled,” The New Yorker reported. Mental illness became the leading cause of disability in children.
Yes, the coincidence of these two trends—deteriorating mental health in an era of vastly expanded awareness, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders—may be just that: coincidence. It does not unveil a causal arrow. But it is peculiar. At the very least, it may provide a clue that many of the treatments and many of the helpers aren’t actually helping.

Effective Strategies for Treating Oral Cancer
Tumblr media
Oral cancer is a serious condition that is critical and may threaten life in most cases. Strategic approaches assure prompt treatment and effective management of the disease. In dentist solution guides on the best strategies for the treatment of oral cancer and on how to care for patients better.
Early Detection and Diagnosis
Early treatment is the cornerstone of proper management of oral cancer. Regular dental examinations are crucial since most primary signs of oral cancers are noticed by the dentist or dental surgeon primarily because of persistent sores and growths. Routine oral examination combined with high advanced diagnostic procedures including biopsy and imaging, increase early diagnosis that plays a very key role in successful treatment.
Surgical Treatment
Surgery is the primary treatment for oral cancer, particularly if the disease is localized. The goal of surgery is to remove the tumor and associated tissue with minimal loss of healthy tissue. Surgery can involve excision, some of which may include:
Excision: Removing the tumor with a border of normal tissue. Mohs Surgery: The most sensitive method of excision of the tumor in sensitive areas to ensure complete removal with less destruction of surrounding tissues.
Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy is often combined with surgery or is the first treatment for some cases. This type of treatment uses high-energy rays to target and kill cancer cells. The latest advancements in radiation techniques, such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy, specifically target damage to healthy tissues as little as possible, which leads to better outcomes.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy utilizes chemicals to destroy cancer cells in the body. Chemotherapy can be combined with other treatments for stage III or IV oral cancer or to treat cancer that has spread from the mouth to other parts of the body or to shrink tumors in the head and neck before surgery. In dentist solution improvements in chemotherapy have led to the creation of individualized chemotherapy regimens that are tailored to the type and stage of oral cancer for greater effectiveness and fewer complications. Targeted Therapy
Targeted therapy is a new concept where specific molecules involved in the proliferation of cancer are targeted. Interference with the cycle of proliferation and spread of cancer cells; meanwhile, minimal harm to normal cells can be achieved with this treatment. It is particularly useful for advanced oral cancers and is often combined with other treatment modalities.
Supportive Care and Rehabilitation
Management of any side effects of cancer treatments is important to maintain a good quality of life. Supportive care involves taking off the pain and managing any problems, such as eating and speech difficulties, that often arise following treatment. Rehabilitation services help patients to get over any changes that may occur because of treatments.
Routine Follow-Up and Monitoring
Ongoing observation is vital to avoid recurrence of cancer and long-term after effects of treatment. Regular follow up with your dentist and oncologist will detect early recurrence and complications of therapy.
Oral cancer treatment is the multi-faceted approach with early detection for a unified, streamlined treatment process involving surgical intervention, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care. Discuss what will best work for you with your healthcare provider, so you get all-rounded care and better outcomes.

The Connection Between Sleep Apnea and Oral Health: Scottsdale Insights
Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder that affects millions of individuals worldwide. It is characterized by interrupted breathing during sleep, leading to fragmented rest and various health complications. While many people associate sleep apnea primarily with fatigue and cardiovascular issues, its connection to oral health is equally significant. In this article, we will explore the relationship between sleep apnea and oral health, providing valuable insights specific to Sleep Apnea Scottsdale patients.
Tumblr media
Understanding Sleep Apnea
What Is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep apnea occurs when a person’s breathing is repeatedly interrupted during sleep. There are three main types:
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): The most common form, OSA occurs when the throat muscles relax excessively during sleep, leading to a blockage of the airway.
Central Sleep Apnea: This less common type involves the brain failing to send appropriate signals to the muscles that control breathing.
Complex Sleep Apnea Syndrome: A combination of obstructive and central sleep apnea.
Symptoms of Sleep Apnea
Common symptoms include:
Loud snoring
Episodes of breathing cessation during sleep
Gasping or choking sensations
Daytime fatigue and sleepiness
Difficulty concentrating
Morning headaches
The Impact of Sleep Apnea on Oral Health
1. Increased Risk of Gum Disease
One of the most significant connections between sleep apnea and oral health is the heightened risk of gum disease. Studies have shown that individuals with sleep apnea are more likely to develop periodontal disease due to several factors:
Decreased Saliva Production: Sleep apnea often leads to mouth breathing, which can dry out the mouth and reduce saliva levels. Saliva plays a crucial role in neutralizing acids and washing away food particles, making a dry mouth more susceptible to plaque accumulation.
Inflammation: Sleep apnea causes systemic inflammation, which can also affect the gums. Inflamed gums are more prone to infection and disease.
2. Teeth Grinding and Clenching
Many individuals with sleep apnea experience bruxism, or teeth grinding, often unconsciously during the night. This behavior can lead to various dental issues, including:
Tooth Wear: Constant grinding can wear down tooth enamel, increasing the risk of cavities and sensitivity.
Jaw Pain: Teeth clenching can lead to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, causing discomfort in the jaw and surrounding muscles.
3. Oral Appliances for Treatment
Oral health professionals in Scottsdale, such as those at Precious Smiles, often recommend oral appliances as a treatment for sleep apnea. These devices work by repositioning the jaw and tongue to keep the airway open during sleep. While effective, they must be fitted and monitored by a dentist to ensure comfort and effectiveness.
4. Connection to Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Research indicates that there’s a strong link between oral health and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). In fact, individuals with OSA may experience oral health issues that exacerbate their sleep apnea symptoms, creating a vicious cycle. For instance:
Enlarged Tonsils and Adenoids: In some cases, enlarged tonsils or adenoids can contribute to airway blockage. Regular dental check-ups can help identify these issues early on.
Malocclusion: Misalignment of teeth and jaws can lead to airway obstructions. Dental professionals can evaluate and address these issues through orthodontic treatments.
The Role of Dentists in Managing Sleep Apnea
Screening and Diagnosis
While sleep apnea is primarily diagnosed through sleep studies, dentists can play a crucial role in screening for potential signs during routine check-ups. Dentists trained in sleep medicine can identify issues related to oral health that may indicate sleep apnea, such as:
Worn teeth due to bruxism
Gum disease
Oral tissue abnormalities
Treatment Options
Oral Appliances: Custom-fitted oral appliances can help reposition the jaw and tongue, preventing airway obstruction during sleep. This non-invasive approach is often recommended for patients with mild to moderate OSA.
Collaboration with Medical Professionals: Dentists often collaborate with sleep specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with sleep apnea. This teamwork ensures that all aspects of a patient’s health are considered in treatment.
Patient Education: Dentists can educate patients on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and regular dental visits, especially for those diagnosed with sleep apnea.
Tips for Maintaining Oral Health with Sleep Apnea
1. Practice Good Oral Hygiene
Maintaining good oral hygiene is vital for individuals with sleep apnea. This includes:
Brushing at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
Flossing daily to remove plaque and food particles from between the teeth.
Using an antimicrobial mouthwash to reduce bacteria in the mouth.
2. Stay Hydrated
Drinking plenty of water helps keep the mouth moist and combats dry mouth. Staying hydrated can also support overall health.
3. Avoid Alcohol and Sedatives
Alcohol and sedatives can relax the throat muscles, worsening sleep apnea symptoms. It’s advisable to avoid these substances, particularly before bedtime.
4. Regular Dental Visits
Frequent dental check-ups are crucial for monitoring oral health. Regular visits to a dentist trained in sleep medicine can help manage any issues related to sleep apnea.
5. Use a Humidifier
Using a humidifier in the bedroom can help alleviate dry mouth caused by mouth breathing during sleep. This added moisture can make breathing more comfortable and protect oral tissues.
Conclusion
The connection between sleep apnea and oral health is significant, especially for those residing in Scottsdale. Understanding this relationship is essential for managing both conditions effectively. Regular dental check-ups play a vital role in identifying early signs of sleep apnea and ensuring that individuals receive appropriate care.At Precious Smiles, we prioritize the oral health of our patients, recognizing the intricate links between sleep and dental well-being. If you suspect you have sleep apnea or have already been diagnosed, don’t hesitate to reach out for a consultation.
