There's something almost spiritual about walking along the edge of a cliff, seeing the water hundreds of feet below, knowing the valley the river sits in was carved out by it for an amount of time the human brain can't even fathom. I just wish there had been a path along the river so I could admire just how high the cliffs stood. This part of the park is also a dedicated dark zone, and I really want to go back at night some time to see the stars.

Book summary:

The Afterlife has a flyover state, and it's called Purgatory.

And with the help of new friends who know what it's like to be stuck in limbo, she's determined to make the best of a weird situation.

Connection to The Land

As an Appalachia native, it's odd to see people who are from big cities walk into the forests. They don't respect them at all, and they see them like they are some sort of giant ball of rubber bands. They have absolutely no connection to the earth. and that's strange to me.

First snowfall of the season at the 𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗗𝗚𝗘 (elevation 6,360 feet in the 𝗦𝗠𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗘𝗦 near 𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚).

So far there is about 1" of snow. More possible, mainly above 5,000 feet through this evening.
