Lee Edwards, ''Son of Celluloid'' by Clive Barker, 1991 "Has any of your work caused controversy or indeed ever been banned? LE: I remember at least one cover being rejected as it was felt to be over the top. When I did Clive Barker’s Son of Celluloid I painted a disfigured Marilyn Monroe for the cover. I felt there were bound to be howls of outrage from dedicated Marilyn fans. She is such an icon for some people. In the event the publishers received just one solitary complaint. I was really disappointed."
from an interview with Edwards, ''Illustrators'', #8, Summer 2014
