Bakugou vs. Kirishima

I hope the anime makes the Bakugou vs. Kirishima fight at least somewhat close. Kirishima put up a good fight against Bakugou and even landed some blows against him. Bakugou views Kirishima as an equal for a reason. Kirishima is a tough opponent. 

It’d be a shame if the anime makes the fight quick and one-sided. 

I trust the Bones (studio) though. They’ve done a great job with the anime and have even added scenes to fights.

Do you have any thoughts on Mina coming from the same middle school as Kirishima? Would Mina having that connection hold any importance for possible development involving him later on, particularly in giving us a hint about what he could have been like before? Or would you think its more of a minor detail that won’t be addressed and kept as a bit of fan trivia?

Kirishima and Ashido Going to the Same Junior High

Yeah, according to the data book, Kirishima and Ashido both lived in the Chiba Prefecture and went to Masutafu Junior High.

That’s a really cool bit of trivia. The really weird thing is, unlike Bakugou and Midoriya, Kirishima and Ashido have shown no signs of knowing each other before high school. They have very few noteworthy interactions. 

They were on the same cavalry team for the Sport’s Festival. 

But that was because Bakugou wanted Ashido’s acid to counteract Todoroki’s ice. 

There’s also this funny interaction between the two of them during the volume 13 omake. 

Other than that, they rarely interact. If they do interact, they’re usually casual interactions like the interactions down below. 

Ashido isn’t impressed by Kirishima’s manliness.

Kirishima and Ashido don’t seem to be particularly close. They don’t talk or hang around each other much. At the same time though, they don’t seem tense around each other or hold any animosity. Their relationship is almost non-existent. They tolerate each other and are willing to work together, but there’s nothing about their relationship that’s noteworthy. It’s like they didn’t know each other before entering high school. If they had some sort of friendship, rivalry, or SOMETHING in junior high, you’d think the manga would have foreshadowed it, but it hasn’t. I’m not sure how Kirishima and Ashido’s junior high relationship will play out in the manga. Anything could happen.

The two of them going to the same junior high may just be a fun bit of trivia that’ll not affect the main series. 

Kirishima and Ashido are both outgoing individuals who aspire to be a hero, you’d think they’d get along well in junior high and then be friends during high school. I guess they didn’t click for whatever reason and made their own separate group of friends during high school. 

If their junior high relationship is brought up in the manga, I think it’ll be non-existent. Kirishima had a different image during junior high than during high school as seen in these chapter three images. 

Based on this black haired individual’s Quirk and the fact that his hair looks like Kirishima’s hair when it’s down, people assume this black haired individual is Kirishima. I’m thinking Kirishima was quieter and didn’t stand out much during junior high, so Ashido didn’t pay much attention to him. They didn’t start getting to know each other until high school. If Ashido remembers Kirishima from junior high, she remembers him as being a different person. That’s my guess anyway. I just think it’s weird how Kirishima and Ashido went to the same junior high, yet there’s no hint of them possibly knowing each other before high school.
