Which Bloodborne character has the WORST spice tolerance?

Admittedly, I am awfully bad with headcanons that do not rely on anything to detect IN the source material! I have a feeling that Edgar is amongst the worst in this regard! Easily upset stomach at spicy foods, and easy to sob at really spicy foods x) I am pretty sure because of that he got pranked by the haters adding mustard in his meal at least five times per lifetime, as they watched him COMPLETELY lose it cursing and desperately looking for water 😔

Micolash is close second, but unlike with Edgar who is naturally less tolerant, with Micolash it is a complete lack of habit! He never got a fancy meal as a child and a teen, and now that he could he just forgets to eat because he is too busy with the books! Djura might be up here but I think he has a few spice-related allergies, including pepper, garlic and cinnamon, as well as he'd be troubled by every other exotic fruit if he ever tried one but that's not really about tolerance. (no Eileen's delicious spicy tea for him though. 😔 It's ok, Henryk will have the entire pot on the other hand xD)

Hello! That would be me. Though I do not have a name, necessarily, Dee will suffice until I find one that I like, and I use she/her pronouns as well. I am... technically, I suppose, not from Yharnam but not not from Yharnam...?

I am the current Champion of the Indigo League, among other things. Dee is a researcher working for Professor Oak of Kanto, among other things.

It is not a coincidence that we look as similar as we do, I'm afraid. I was... artificially created to be a copy of her, though fortunately for the both of us this did not work as well as my creator thought it would.

My Gengar, Ade, is considerably more technologically literate than I and rather frequently borrows my Pokégear to editorialize upon what I have written, record my current activities, or make posts of her own. When she does so, she favors the color purple.

Silver remains my rival, as far as she is concerned. While she has her own blog at @cosmic-crobat now, she does not use it particularly frequently. In previous posts on this blog, she used the color blue.

In spite of my... history... with deities, Ho-oh deemed me worthy of protecting the Johto region. This has had side effects, some benign and some less so. They do not speak here often, but when they do they use bolded orange for whatever reason, and more recently they have decided to begin using another name interchangeably with their first: Solaire.

The first person to show me kindness in this world was an eleven-year-old boy named Ethan. He introduced me to the second: his mother, a woman named Reina, who I hold much affection for. I have lent both this device before, and they have chosen to use yellow and pink respectively.

Well, I suppose I likely should do the next introduction. As I mentioned previously, I am not necessarily a Faller from Yharnam but not necessarily not one, either. I was brought here intentionally by a friend of mine, a Faller from this world into Yharnam. She is... no longer quite human, but I have never been human myself, and I personally do not think she has changed as much as she believes.

I... wouldn't know. Though I do know that her name is Mallory, she favors bolded red, and she was both the Hunter that freed me from the Nightmare as well as the force responsible for my being here at all, albeit not on purpose.

It all turned out for the best, though, didn't it?

Do you have any tips to help other story writers for making Bloodborne stories?

Oh hello there ! ^^

Well I'm not sure I'm the best person placed for this O_O' it's only been a few months since I began to write stories (& bloodborne stories) so I still have a lot to learn...

But I know a lot of things about Bloodborne so I can try to help x) what's sure is that's there's no good or wrong way to write bloodborne stories I believe.

First I think it depends the types of stories you want to write really. Is it a little one shot ? (About a character ? A particular events ? a pairing ?) or is it a bigger multi chapter fic/story that describe a long period of events ?

I mean personally I try to respect the lore and everything we can learn in the source materials and put as much little references as possible (but it's a lot it depends, if you focus on a specific character at one certain point in time, it's important to consider a bit what happened before and perhaps after? (foreshadowing) and all but a lot of things can be ignore/not focused on too much. (If it's like a small story about Gascoigne's backstory for exemple I don't think it's pertinent referencing the fishing hamlet for ex)

If you wrote about the old hunters/ the healing church foundation and all it's good to be on point with the lore, if it's later in the timeline with only Gascoigne, Eileen, Henryk, Djura and all it's still good to know about it/reference it but not useful to talk about what happened to much. Likewise if it's a story happening with the hunter/main character in the "present". (Also make a timeline if it's retracing the entire storyline of bloodborne lore. I had a hard time making one but it's super useful)

A lot of points are still up to interpretations in Bloodborne (the exact timeline, the characterizations of some characters, the types of relationships some had between them...) I think the best advice I can give here is to do like you feel/imagined/interpret the world. I love reading unique takes ! You can inspired yourself with ideas from others of course but I think just looking at your first thoughts about the game

As for writing inspiration I guess doing researches about the XIX/19th century/victorian era (1800s) is really useful too + Lovecraft/fantastic stories but it depend the type of stories and tone you you want to write too. For interiors description, how people used to live, talk maybe? medical procedures... it can be pretty useful but also you need to be careful that Bloodborne universe is not totally equal to our 19th century. For ex I don't think people have 10 siblings/children, women have more prominent/important & mixed role in society and I don't think 10years old worked in manufactures...(but hey a really realistic Bloodborne based stories / a really super fantastic-lovecratian story could be quite interesting too).

You don't have to explain everything too/it's ok if there's some missing points. (Because 1 : the game never explain everything. 2: it's super hard coming up with an explanation for everything as well.)

And to conclude I would say the best source materials for ideas/inspiration is the game itself. The ambience it have, what you feel & what comes to your mind when playing the game.

I can’t believe i never did this in the four years I’ve had Marcelina. But under the cut will her relationships with the older hunters.

Gascoigne and Viola- Marcelina thinks of these two as parental figures in her life. And their kids like little sisters.

Henryk- They care and love each other. They also have a friendly rivalry going on. Also they occasionally fight each other whenever they notice the other.

Djura- Djura was the first to be kind and accept Marcelina into the city when the others were stand off-ish. Out of all them, Djura’s and Marcelina’s relationship is one of the strongest.

Eileen- Somewhat mentor/student. They care about each other and Eileen is the one Marcelina listens to other then Henryk when needing advice.

Valtr- Chill with each other. They talk about their experiences and honestly just vibe.

The Madaras twins- Marcelina finds them confusing. She doesn’t hang around them often. They mostly just off put her.

Yamamura- Her husband (yes, I made oc x canon). This is the other strongest relationship she has out of all the hunters. They relate on many things, especially being outsiders (Marcelina being from France and Yamamura being from Japan).

Alfred- Absolutely hate each other. It was mostly from a bad off comment that Alfred said about Marcelina’s weird god baby, Roosevelt. She hasn’t forgiven him and things just got worse from there.

I am not even sure why I love it so much! Though this glove is absolutely SICK design, but there is just.. something in general. It looks 'heavy', but detailed in the best way! Like the flowing cape, the belts, that medallion.. Really wonder why they never gave this set a unique head piece and just reused Foreigner's Hood!

^ I WOULD like it better if the blacks in this set were this deep though, in the game the colors are a bit muted.. Or maybe it is the structure. Also RAPIER-HOLDING YOUNG REDHEAD CONCEPT DJURA JUMPSCARE CAINHURST ROOTS DJURA CANON CONFIRMED *X-FILES MUSIC PLAYS*

ADORE the heavy details on all these plates, the silly silver hair decoration... Absolutely awesome take on lighter armored knight!

If this is about my favourite outfit to WEAR as a player, I have two moods:

I enjoy kind of outfit that places more weight/puffiness on the top clothes! Typically flowing sleeves go with robes and these puffy sleeves with dresses, but I like the way they can contrast with trousers so much! If I only could separate Choir's chest piece or Arianna's dress from their 'skirt' parts I'd really enjoy wearing them with trousers too! Just something about the shape. Does this make sense?

I love all of them! I'm going to pick the iconic Hunter Cap though:

Absolutely justified for becoming the John Bloodborne's selling design! Also so funny how the lore is that it imitates the depth of how strongly Djura ruined HIS hat xD. Eileen's plague doctor's mask would be the second!

47) Do you dress for stats or fashion?

I want to dress for fashion, but I keep exploring Chalice Dungeons and some of them kick my ass SO hard that I simply have to squeeze out any advantage I can from the clothes! And then I forget to switch back to my liked outfit... You will probably see me wearing different clothes on every screenshot for this reason.

I think I would not wear my hunter's drip myself though, at least not yet! Dressing like this would make me feel really confident and attractive... which I should not feel because I am a huge dumbass, so I am staying in my silly flower-patterned skirts to preserve the nearly-comedic vibe of "a cute girl that opens her mouth and the vilest, the angriest curses spill out" sdfhgsdgh :pensive:

fic stuff

having trouble deciding on pov for a couple sections in ch. 8, because i really want to maintain a nice even split between eileen and djura throughout the fic, and eileen didn’t get any pov sections in ch. 7. but, as i’ve characterized them, djura is a much more  perceptive person than eileen, at least regarding the things i want to focus on in this chapter, and i’ll lose a lot if i’m in her head. except where dictated by the plot i often don’t have a clear idea of pov when a scene pops into my head, which means i tend to get little bits and snatches from the perspectives of all the characters involved, and then picking a specific character to narrate means making some trades - if character x narrates, we’ll gain this bit of characterization but lose that detail. usually i’ve found it fairly easy to make a choice - a lot of times it comes down to what tone i want the chapter to have, and which character is in the right headspace to give that tone - but i’m having trouble now. (though the more i think about it the more i think i can probably make eileen’s pov work, even though ironically that means that we’ll lose a lot of details about how eileen herself is doing. she’s not particularly self-aware.)

YEAH, i only have 3/4ths of an eileen done tbh. :’C  i have her able to be put in the game, and i’ve loaded her in before. but there are things i want to mod in but have no idea how to. like the music box for gascoigne and djura’s pacifism, and it all gets so overwhelming. x~x i don’t have the slightest bit of programming knowledge.

+ - Rom is a she/her, as confirmed by Miyazaki in interview!

+ Doctor Iosefka is replaced with Impostor Iosefka after you *enter the Cathedral Ward, so there are two characters in her clinic. Impostor’s name is not revealed. According to data and art book portraits they look identical, however! (upd: in first post version I made a mistake, saying Impostor replaces after Amelia dies)

+ Gascoigne has TWO daughters, not one! His older daughter is only met if you follow questline with little girl accurately, though.

+ Besides Gascoigne's older daughter, characters more or less easy to miss by players are Old Hunter Henryk, Crow of Cainhurst, Afflicted Beggar, Djura's Apprentice, Queen of Vilebloods and Martyr Logarius. Also never getting to see Lonely Old Dear, Suspicious Man and Arianna in person might happen. Basically the cast is wider than it appears!

+ Very obscure characters you might never learn about unless you get a specific item include: Graveguard Dores, Irreverent Izzy, King of Cainhurst, older Madaras Twin, Archibald the eccentric of the Healing Church, Caryll, Gratia... They are not just "popular OCs", nope!

+ According to the figma creators, Lady Maria is 6′7 (204 cm) and the Hunter is 5′11 (180 cm) ( x ) - they explain it from 6:40 to 7:05! Very useful information, especially considering Gascoigne’s model is taller than Maria’s, and Gehrman’s is EVEN taller than Gascoigne’s.

+ THE most popular ships are Mariadeline (Lady Maria x Saint Adeline), Valtmura (Valtr Master of the League x Yamamura the Wanderer), Holyvicar (Laurence the first Vicar x Ludwig the Holy Blade) and Alfhunter (Alfred x the hunter)

+ Micolash might be drawn with brown or blue eyes, Yurie might be drawn as blonde or brunette, Edgar might be drawn as blonde or redhead... The reason for Micolash is difference between his cutscene model and hunter one; meanwhile Edgar and Yurie are redhead and blonde according to face data but do not have obvious colors from found screenshots, that's why variety of colors in fanart!

+ Annalise is depicted as a redhead in concept art and on one of the Cainhurst portraits, however, hence why she might be not ‘blonde’ in fanart.
