It crumbles without our involvement. When we stop caring, we let others decide our future. Apathy is the greatest threat to freedom. History shows us what happens when people don’t participate. Dark times follow.

Strongmen rise in the void. They promise order and stability. But their rule is brutal. Think of Hitler in Germany or Mussolini in Italy. They took power when people were desperate. They crushed opposition and controlled every aspect of life.

“Peace through strength” is their mantra. It sounds good but hides a darker truth. It means silencing dissent. It means using fear to control. It means trading freedom for a false sense of security.

Look at North Korea. One man’s power keeps millions in chains. Look at Russia. A strongman silences critics with violence. Look at China. A powerful few control billions, crushing any opposition.

These systems are built on fear and force. They thrive on our silence. They take root when we stop caring. Democracy dies when we don’t participate.

We must vote. We must speak out. We must hold leaders accountable. Our voice is our power. Without it, we risk losing everything. Democracy is our safeguard against tyranny.

Hi Tumblr, another old upload, this one coming from over a decade ago in 2014. I used to be obsessed with making UTAUloids out of anyone or anything I could, having made dozens from my own voice, recording friends and families, and in the case of these three vocals, TTS vocals. The ad-libs/backing vocal was sampled from Google Translate's original Japanese TTS, who I lovingly named "tes" (like "test" since that's what her VB originally started as). The two most difficult parts about working with her were her shorter consonants, which made her work very well for faster pronunciation but choppy during more natural singing, and her pitch inflections, since the TTS model was based off of conversational pronunciation, making it often difficult to isolate the portion of a sample to hold a note. The other two vocals, which I named Shoujou and Shounen respectively, were taken from TTS models on a website to teach Japanese pronunciation. I cannot for the life of me remember what that website was or how to find it, unfortunately. They were fairly easy to work with, since the samples were usually held for a single note. The tricky parts came with their consonant timing, as they had the opposite issue from tes. Their consonants were often drawn out and exaggerated which made faster pronunciation difficult, and their phoneme selection was very limited, only comprising of the absolute fundamental syllables in Japanese. At this point in my understanding of UTAU, I had not yet begun experimenting much with note velocity which could've made working with varied consonant timing a bit easier, although that would've been more effort than I'd've been willing to put into a single cover (at this time, I was still recording & mixing in Audacity lmao). Sadly this is the only example I could find in my drives using any 3 of these vocals :( I remember using tes quite often, usually just as a plug-n-play for USTs, tho I don't have as many memories with either of the other 2. Hopefully I can find more recordings of them on some of my old computers, they bring back very happy memories of early UTAU days :')
