LMK VS Legends
Yellow Tusk the Wise
Tumblr media
LMK:
Korean: King of Elephant Mandarin: Yellow-Toothed White Elephant
He is one of the former sworn brothers of Monkey King. Like most of the Brotherhood, Yellowtusk originally served the Celestial Realm until he opposed the Jade Emperor for his rule, leading him to stand up against the Celestial Host to dethrone him after being inspired by Wukong. At the end of Season 4, he was incarcerated by the Celestial Realm
JTTW:
The Yellow-Toothed Elepehant Demon The steed of Bodhisattva Samantabhadra
Tumblr media
Weapon: Spear Powers/Abilities: Truck that can wrap around enemies. After he and the other two kings fight the pilgrims he is subdued like and brought back to Samantabhadra.
Thoughts:
Tusk is a very hard figure to research but in the LMK universe, I can see maybe another reason he and Azure are so close if anything about the steed thing is true in this universe both being steeds to a bodhisattva might have brought them together, closer then Peng. Also why those two were more genuine people than Peng was.

With the african great apes, are there any unexpected behaviours they have with different species? I imagine big cats/predators would have a typical "get out predator" reaction, but what about herbivores? Do they see elepehants in the wild? Do apes and elephants recognize eachother as thinking the same way elephants and humans do or is it "cant say since we cant know what they're thinking"
According to the San Diego Zoo, "chimpanzees hunt other wildlife, like monkeys or small antelope, for meat. "
There was a study on this exact subject:
"report[ed] direct observations of interactions between chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes verus) and wild and domesticated species in a forest-farm mosaic at Bossou, Guinea, recorded between 1997 and 2009. The low diversity and abundance of wildlife, in particular typical chimpanzee prey species, are reflected in both the low interaction rates (one interaction per 400 observation hours) and the low number of species with which chimpanzees interacted (nine species, mostly mammals, but also birds and reptiles). Chimpanzees generally chose either to make direct physical contact with a species or not; interactions that involved direct contact lasted longer than noncontacts. Interactions with mammals showed the greatest diversity in nature and duration. Adults most often consumed a captured animal, while immatures most often engaged in playful behaviours with other species. Immatures also exhibited distinctive accompanying behaviours whereas adults rarely did so. Species-specific behaviours that depend on the age-class of the interactant are consistent with the idea that chimpanzees categorise different animals. We anticipate that chimpanzee interactions with sympatric species inhabiting humanised habitats will change over time to include more domesticated species."
Above quote is from the abstract, full article is behind a paywall ($34?!! in this economy??) if anyone reads it please let us know/share your thoughts!

All About the Letter J
Please List! (at least one)
Animals I Like: Jaguars. Joeys are cute too.
Foods I Like: JOLLIBEE. At this point it’s in my bloodstream; can’t live without my Jollibee fix. I’d also enjoy anything with jalapeño on or in it.
I Know Someone Who’s (jobs): Journalist (and lots of them), janitor, judge.
I Wouldn’t Mind Visiting: Jakarta; Jerusalem, because as much as I’ve dissociated from Christianity the place still holds a lot of history and I wouldn’t want to miss out on it; and Johannesburg, South Africa. Would wanna revisit Japan and Jeju, South Korea.
Sometimes I Feel: Jumpy.
Music I Listen To: Joji, Justin Bieber, John Legend, The Jonas Brothers, The Japanese House, and some Jay-Z too.
Movies I’ve Seen: The original version of The Grudge, which is called Ju-On; The Jungle Book, Juno.
Names I Like: Jeanette, Judith, Julia, Julianna, Johanna. And for a rare boy name pick from me, I really like the name Jacob too.
And now, onto the random questions!
1. Would you go jellyfishing with Spongebob? I’d watch him and Patrick, but I wouldn’t join in myself. The stings on the show look really painful and I’ve also been stung before.
2. Do you know anyone who’s been stung by a jellyfish before? Me lol. A lot of my classmates and I got jellyfish stings when we went on a beach trip for biology class. None were in serious harm though; we just had to be treated by our biology teacher and everyone turned out okay.
3. Do you know how to juggle, or know someone that does? I don’t know how to, but I’m 130% sure I know a couple of people who do...I just can’t recall who they are right now. Man I’m starting to forget what my friends’ quirks are. Get me out of the house :(
4. Do you believe in Jesus? Been very vocal about this in the last 834 surveys I’ve taken.
5. What kinds of juice do you like to drink? I’m super picky about juices. I’m most likely to accept a glass if I’m on a vacation in the province because juices taste the freshest there, and I actually end up liking some of them even if I hate fruits.
6. What’s the real difference between jelly and jam, anyways? In the Philippines, we use the word ‘jam’ to refer to fruit spread and ‘jelly’ to refer to any gelatinous snack, like Jellyace.
7. Do you like to go jogging? Not really. I did do track as a kid but I stopped, so my stamina’s not as impressive these days.
8. When’s the last time you jumped up and down, and the reason behind it? There was a moth that joined me in the shower last night and I screamed and panicked. Ended up not finishing my bath and had to continue it this morning looool.
9. Have you ever eaten Japanese cuisine before? Yes, super popular choice here. Malls will have like 5-7 Japanese restaurants operating all at the same time, each with different gimmicks and menu items. I haven’t explored the whole cuisine though since I usually stay within my comfort picks, sushi and katsu.
10. What is your favorite flavor of Jell-O? I don’t like jelly stuff :( I’ve always gagged at the texture honestly.
11. Do you buy drinks in cartons or jugs? I prefer water more than anything so I’m not the type to normally consume other drinks. When I do crave a drink I just buy a single tetra pak, I never have to buy a giant version of it.
12. Have you ever flown in a jet before? Nopes.
13. Have you ever used a jetski? Nah. Beach resorts will sometimes let you rent one and I’ve been tempted a few times, but I’m always scared off in the end because they look so fast and dangerous haha.
14. At what temperature do you feel the need to wear a jacket? I remember freezing my ass off in Sagada when the temperature was playing at 17-18C, so probably by then.
15. Is there any flavor of jellybeans that you don’t like? Coconut.
16. Do you like to make jokes? Are there some jokes that you just don’t understand? My sense of humor is more of sarcasm and being deadpan. I don’t really make jokes, and usually I don’t understand jokes if I’m not aware of the topic or context, like if it’s a joke about a US politician other than Trump.
17. What was the last jar that you struggled to open? Mayonnaise.
18. Are you any good at jigsaw puzzles? Always struggled with them. We had several exams in kindergarten where all we had to do was fill up a very small, simple puzzle to pass – and I dreaded those tests every time. Gabie also got a 1,000-piece puzzle at one point and I remember throwing my hands up in resignation at some point and just leaving her and her baby sisters to finish it.
19. Would you like to visit Jupiter, if it were possible? For sure.
20, Favorite jungle animal? Elepehants!
21. Have you seen any of the Jurassic Park movies? Nope, not interested in that genre.
22. Do you carve jack-o-lanterns? It’s never been a practice here, so no.
23. Would you like to try judo? Yes! I look up to a number of wrestlers who also have a background in judo. It’d be cool to check it out.

The Holidays Approach
we just had our annual pumpkin carving party tonight. my roommate is moving out after two years to be closer to his office in the east bay and be closer to his girlfriend as well, who lives there too. I’m going to miss him. He’s been a great flatmate and I developed a very good friendship with him. he’s introduced me to new people. met new friends. and made new connections. he’s even ‘tried’ to introduce me to two women but I dunno...Q just seems way too out of my league despite him casually asking her about me and getting positive feedback.
She works for Lucasfilm ironically and one time, randomly I asked her, if they ever have their sales, to get me some stuff that I can give to my niece and nephew and she got me a lot of awesome stuff including some stuff in my size (she guessed my size)! The other one he introduced me was basically a D clone. Let’s call her MC but yeah. Same height, body, personality, interests except she works as a project manager for an art team for a tech marketing company. She’s even from the Albany area (she was surprised I knew about Hudson) and has an Italian mom as well. She’s cute. Both them are very attractive and interesting. I also went on a date over the weekend with someone somewhat unexpectedly. But I’m largely a little cautious. I’ve never met that made as much money as she does. who can afford a two bedroom apartment on her own and makes nearly 18K a month. She’s essentially a CFO for a big tech company. It’s just weird. She pays for everything.
But something about the party felt a little nostalgic in that regard. I know I’m a broken record at this point but it did, honestly, make me miss someone a little bit. Mostly because I was sort of reminded of them all day today. This past fall, 8 of my friends have gone to the capital region for weekend trips. All of them had asked me for tips and places to go. I had to tell them that I haven’t been to the area since late 2016 right after I moved out and spent one last day there while on the East coast. I stayed the night at one of the flashy hotels. I walked up and down the main street. Alone. I was a little afraid I might run into her parents but then realized that was probably unlikely. But yeah, I saw another group of friends that had asked me for recommendations went this weekend when they posted pictures of the art home situated on the hill. But also, I’ll be in that area in two weeks for my friends bachelor weekend. They’ve all since moved to Brooklyn and wanted to go someplace a bit secluded for their dinner and bar hopping afterwards and had heard about the one street from other people living in Brooklyn of a place that’s a weekend getaway. So yeah, it’s weird how it’s changed. But weirder that all my friends go there now. and buy property there.
Anyways, the fall stuff and the pumpkin carving reminded me of them. It even made me kind of miss them in some small way. Not in the I want her back way but more of a ‘maybe we can one day reconcile and just be friendly and if we were I could’ve invited them to this party and they probably would’ve enjoyed it.
Anyways, the party was about 16 people. We had a pumpkin carving contest where the winner got a taco bell gift card and the runner ups got candy. Marie and Jessica were judges because they didn’t carve a pumpkin. We had pizza, and homemade pumpkin pies (my roommate Jessica has been making them since she moved in) and they’re amazing! We didn’t opt for the potluck.
In other news, the semester is half over. I did my midterms project. I think it well. Although I’m still getting used to the time adjustment as they’re three hours ahead but I’m officially a student at the University of Michigan.
Anyways, I have dates with the Viking tomorrow, the German Neuro Scientist on Monday and the VP of Finance of a start up on Tuesday. I see my friend Amanda on Thursday for some Sai Jai (she’s the blonde actress) and then getting breakfast my with brunette actress friend. They’re up here filming something. I can’t remember. It’s weird befriending people off dating though. I would’ve never thought that to be possible but here we are nearly three years later and they’re some of my best friends. even though they’re in LA pursuing their dreams! But mostly posting because the next few weekend ahead I’ll be in Sacramento to go to apple hill with the crew! Although I’m a little worried about my back tire. I took it to the 76 station on 24th Avenue in the sunset to take a look at it and they couldn’t an issue but it keep letting out air every week and nearly going flat. I’m mostly afraid to drive it to Sacramento but I guess if something happens, there are 2K readers here so maybe they would be of help if you don’t hear anything.
Anyways, the group is all headed up for the weekend. We’re all going to crash at my place in Roseville Friday night and drive up to Apple Hill together on Saturday morning. Spend the day at Denver Dan’s, Boa Vista, Abel’s, Rainbow Orchards and Delfino Farms. Likely to do our usual dinner at Buca di Bepo.
After that, we’ll get home on late Saturday night. I’ll spend the week back in SF and then head off to Seattle from 27th Oct to 5th November. A little longer than I had expected. I’ll be seeing my friends Tom, Sarah, Caitlin, Jodie, Courtney and I’ll see Drew. Drew has actually become quite close friends with my sister and brother in law as well. But it’s good to see him happy here.
After Seattle, Nathan and I will be in Boston for a week and then Cleveland to see Marcus and Katie. for another weekend. Then we fly back and I land. I’ll stay in SF for one day to put up the Christmas decorations. and then head off to Roseville the next morning. I’ll be there until the night of Black Friday will likely drive home once the traffic has subsided. That will be first time home in three weeks.
BUT the next week, I have a company that friday. Then my friends from Denmark are coming to visit me (D wasn’t around the last time they visited but didn’t feel comfortably that I was hanging out young danish women, when I told her but yeah, I’ve got holiday concert tickets to She & him. then our usually christmas white elepehant and Ill be bone to Seattle for 10 days.
Anyways yeah. I fly back to New You on December 18 ti December 29 and then we have a NYE party here too! It’s going to be a busy last months of the year and I’m very excited about it all.
