[Album + Video] Kollektiv Temps kündigt Debütalbum "PARTY GATOR PURGATORY" an!

Temps, das 40-köpfige Kollektiv um den britischen Komiker James Acaster, kündigt die Veröffentlichung ihres Debütalbums "PARTY GATOR PURGATORY" an, das am 19. Mai digital über Bella Union erscheint.

Mit seinem gewaltigen Umfang und seiner experimentellen Energie schafft es das trippige Album, eine Vielzahl von Ideen, Gästen und Stimmungen auf den zehn Songs zu vereinen. Das Debüt wurde dabei von Acaster selbst produziert und konzipiert und enthält Beiträge von Acts wie Quelle Chris, John Dieterich, Joana Gomila, Laia Vallès, Shamir, Seb Rochford und vielen anderen. “I became completely obsessed with this project”, erzählt Acaster. “It was all I focused on for two years and we ended up making my favourite thing ever.”

Die Genres wurden während der Produktion ganz klar zugunsten der Experimentier- und Spielfreude vernachlässigt: So folgt eine gerappte Strophe auf ein Saxophon-Solo, eine barocke Gitarrenline wechselt sich mit einem Chor von Blockflöten ab - was auch immer der jeweilige Track verlangte, er bekam es. Dieser kollaborative, flüchtige Ansatz führte schleißlich auch zum Namen der Gruppe, Temps, die Ende 2022 bereits ihre erste Single "no,no" geteilt hatten.

"bleedthemtoxins", die neueste Single des Kollektivs, das irgendwo zwischen einem Nebenprojekt und einer Supergroup angesiedelt ist, verschmilzt experimentellen Jazz mit Bläsern und mehrstimmigen Rap- und Vocals-Parts, während Acaster in seinem bunten Party Gator-Kostüm London unsicher macht

When I play this I feel I’m wandering the misty forests and castles, maybe even at Elizabete’s home of Latvia. On the other hand, her electronics morph that into a kind of vortex with their surreal, uneasy character. This is no shock since Elizabete calls her dreams a major inspiration. Not long before she sings “is the castle real?”, I'm sensing a computer behind the courtyard. Yes, this is yet another album where folklore and synths make a fascinating pair.

The same song can flip from churchy vocalizing to hectic techno beats in seconds. A simple feather-weight ballad like “Vienīgais ceļš” has me swaying, but something as flat-out bizarre as “Monument” makes me giggle. Beyond that, her lyrics go for abstract ideas like ‘following the shape of butterflies’ and forgetting her name. The memorable ‘it is not yet a forest’ repeats until the last song fades.

For all the synth shenanigans (she triggers them live with fruit) it’s the way she mixes it with her flute and voice that stands out. The flute has a way of twirling around just so like a ribbon, while her distinct voice has this deep, rosy richness. The two Latvian songs make good showcases for the latter, plus an uncommon language (“Vienīgais ceļš” again, while “Negribas Iet Gulēt” floats along gently like a lullaby). Like a wise mage, she’s discreet, focused; conducting some kind of research, but a song like “They’re Coming” shows her more playful instincts. With a colorful arrangement like that (flute, mallet, synth, horns) it could fit a parade.

Treniņu Trešdienas 2017 finišs

29. novembrī, 2017 gada Treniņu Trešdienu noslēguma vakars. Sākot no 18:30 tiekamies radošās vides telpā Darbnīca (Aristida Briāna iela 9). Vakara sākumā organizējam paneļdiskusiju - saruna par "Skatuves etiķeti". Galvenie runātāji: Artūrs Cintiņš (3S skaņas kompānija), KODEK (mūziķis) un Mārtiņs Mielavs (Kafejnīca “Piens” un “Piena svētki”). Pasākuma apmeklētaji un klātesošie mūziķi ir aicināti iesaistities un dalīties ar savu pieredzi un viedokļiem. Ar anša un Labās Dāmas assistenci paneļdiskusiju moderēs Kristaps Puķītis. (diskusijas izvērstu aprakstu sk. zemāk) Pēc sarunas klausīsimies un skatīsimies novembra mēneša kopdarba rezultātā radīto skaņdarbu un video klipu prezentācijas. (Novembra grupu uzskaitījumu sk. zemāk) Noslēgumā uztāsies Liepājas frontes pārstāvji Glociks un Fishen, tad duo PRAGAII, kura sastāvā ir Kashuks un Aleksis Luriņš un vakaru noslēgs Ωtek. Dzērieni no Kokmuižas alus, tehniskā asistence no Discomania.lv. Norises un uzstāšanās laika plānu meklē FBook eventā. Paneļdiskusijas sarunas tematu apskatīsim to no trīs pusēm: 1. no mākslinieka skatupunkta - par mainīšanos uz skatuves pēc/pirms uzstāšanās, par to, kas māksliniekam ir būtiski ierodoties norises vietā u.tml. 2. no skaņotāja, tehniskā direktora skatupunkta - par to, kādi ir visbiežākie iemesli, kas sagādā problēmas soundčekos mūziķu negatavības dēļ (aizmirsti vadi, neprecīzs raideris un tamlīdzīgi); varbūt vari dalīties, ar konkrētiem atgadījumiem - kādas domstarpības mēdz gadīties, neprecīzas komunikācijas dēļ. Tāpat arī auditorijā būs daudz mūziķu, kas uzstājušies tikai nelielos pasākumos (undergroundā tā teikt), tāpēc varētu būt aktuāli parunāt arī par to, ko soundčeks, piemēram, uzstājoties festivālā nozīmē - tas nav mēģinājums u.tml. Ņemot vērā, ka tev ir pieredze arī ar stadionu mēroga pasākumiem domāju, ka Tavs pienesums šajā sarunā būs klausītājiem ļoti interestants un vērtīgs. 3. no pasākuma rīkotāju skatupunkta - par to, kāda ir promotera loma tajā, lai nodrošinātu māksliniekam labsajūtu un visu nepieciešamo uzstāšanās dienā, kas ir biežākās kļūdas, kuras tiek pieļautas komunikācijā starp rīkotāju un mākslinieku, tādējādi radot pārpratumus, tāpat arī par to, kas ir lielie ''do'' un ''dont'' uzstājoties u.tml. Šeit grupas kuras izveidojās 1.11.
