GIBSON GUITARS ANNOUNCE A NEW BRAND PARTNERSHIP WITH METALLICA GUITARIST KIRK HAMMETT

Kirk Hammett has mentioned many times about his love for Greeny, his 1959 Les Paul that was originally owned by Fleetwood Mac’s Peter Green, then owned by Gary Moore, & now owned by Kirk Hammett. Hammett's love for Gibson has now led to a brand partnership between Kirk Hammett & Gibson Guitars.

Gibson has finally announced a new brand partnership with Metallica's guitarist Kirk Hammett. Gibson has not specified individual guitars yet, but has stated that the signature line will span across Gibson Brands, including Gibson and Epiphone, & may eventually include other Gibson subsidarie brands such as Kramer Guitars & Mesa Boogie.

Kirk Hammett stated in a press release "It’s a really great and exciting time for me to be joining forces with Gibson,” “I look forward to achieving great things together in the future.”

Gibson President Cesar Gueikian added in his statement, “It’s an honor to welcome the icon, the ripper, Kirk Hammett back to the Gibson family. Kirk has been carrying the flag for hard rock and heavy metal for decades, and his Gibson guitars have bee seen there with him from the very beginning. From his first Gibson, his 1979 Flying V to ‘Greeny’ and everything in between, Gibson guitars have been an integral part of Kirk’s sound. All of us at Gibson are looking forward to this collaboration and are grateful that Kirk has trusted us to begin a new partnership.
