The only big surprise was Jamie Lee Curtis, but I guess they just had to give it to a white chick instead of Angela Bassett who has been shut out of a win for like, 30 years.

And Jimmy Kimmel can keep his day job. The Will Smith jokes were tasteless and too much tonight underlined all the racist/anti-Black sentiment out there (wasn't helped by that Entertainment Weekly set of anonymous interviews this past week).

But EEAAO making a clean sweep? Outstanding.

Phantom Krueger

It is finally done! Phantom Kruger is done! Without the lighting and shadows, I swear that the sketches gave me so much Phillip/Belos vibes XD

Trigger warning for blood and burns!!

Now, everyone will go "Phantom, if Freddy is the Phantom of the Opera, where is his mask?"

And my response is that you, lovely jellybeans, are seeing it. I am not sure if the sketch allows seeing it, but there are some stitches to his face. So, yes, the Phantom's mask is his face...or well...made out of flesh.

This is actually what I mentioned in the Christine! Nancy post about the sketches and how I got the idea:

So, yeah that is actually something that POTO 1989 does with their Erik. I thought it was gory and well fitting to this crossover so I kept it. My major difference is that Phantom Krueger uses it to hide his burns, but just as the Original version he is bald too, so the hair you see in the sketches is just a pretty tight (maybe glued) wig on his head.

I decided to add the stitches to convey he well...stitched them to his face as it is really hard to draw the amazing makeup effect the OG POTO 1989 has

There is some sense of discomfort, or that something is of when you see Erik's face, which adds to the later scene (which is on YouTube) where well he removes his mask as the backstory of his character play.

The hair color was not chosen by me, it is actually from the 1989 Erik as well as an inspired costume he has, which is basically the Red Death costume from the POTO, which was referenced in the mask Freddy's holding as a cute easter egg.

If you guys are wondering what POTO characters do Glenn, Tina, and Rod would be dressed as ?Here they are

Glenn, of course, would be the "Raoul" (or Richard which the POTO decided to name Raoul like) as he is cannonically Nancy's boyfriend in the first film, so I thought it would be fitting.

Tina would certainly be heavily inspired by Meg from both 1989 ver and some small inspo from the musical (just slightly.) as POTO 1989 Meg is still Christine's best friend, so I would be drawing a lot of inspo from there

Rod is a bit hard due to not much of a male character outside Raoul (or Richard...) in the POTO 1989 so far has been, but I'll probably based him around Piangi as he was an actor in the POTO which also ironically died a similar way to Rod-

I'll probably get Glen and the others costumes designs and maybe in a later post explain Nancy's dress.

And just for another reminder. This crossover will not have the Phantom be in love or attracted to Christine because his motivations are based around Freddy Krueger's + its a big no for me

Erik Spiekermann est un graphiste Allemand née le 30 mai 1947 à Stadthagen. Il a étudié à la Free University de Berlin. Il est parvenu à payer ses études supérieures en opérant une presse à papier du confort e chez lui. Les 10 années suivant son cheminement scolaire sont passés, à Londres, à faire des commissions pour différentes compagnies. En 1979 il co-fonde MetaDesign avec Uli Mayer-Johanson et Hans ch. Kruger. En 1980 lui et sa femme crée FontShop, le premier distributeur et producteur de polices de caractères par courrier. En 2001, Erik Spiekermann quitte MetaDesign et crée United Designers Networks (UDN). En 2007 la compagnie est renommée SpiekermannPartners et seulement deux ans plus tard Edenspiekermann. Il est le premier designer à recevoir le European Design Awards Hall of Fame.

Erik Spiekermann a créé de nombreuses polices de caractères tout au long de sa carrière. Une de celle-ci est FF Meta et est, selon Erik Spiekermann, un opposé direct à l’Helvetica qu’il trouvait inintéressant. La base de cette police provient d’une commission non utilisée pour Deutsche Bundepost. Nombreux sont les établissement et compagnies qui utilisent cette police de caractère, notamment le gouvernement grecque l’utilise pour ses document officiel depuis 2010.

With their fifth straight win in last night’s game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Blackhawks are on a roll as they continue to keep up the outstanding work they’ve been doing.

The Hawks kicked off the first period on a good note as Erik Gustafsson picked up where he last left off last Saturday night as he scored a power play goal to give them a one-goal lead.

However, as the first period was winding down, the Blackhawks ended up taking unnecessary penalties which resulted in Leon Draisaitl scoring two power play goals and the Hawks found themselves down 2-1 going into the second period.

Even though the Oilers were dominating the second period as they continued to maintain their two-goal lead, Cam Ward made an awesome pad save to keep them from extending it and played quite well for the rest of the period & the rest of the game.

In the third period, things started really getting interesting for the Blackhawks.

John Hayden (who hadn’t scored a goal since November 29th against the Winnipeg Jets) tied up the game by scoring his 3rd goal of the season with Marcus Kruger & Chris Kunitz getting credited with the assists.

Not long after Hayden’s goal, Dylan Strome extended the Blackhawks’ lead to three goals as he scored his 13th goal of the season with assists by Dominik Kahun and Alex DeBrincat (who now has 100 career points).

Patrick Kane extended his point streak to 12 games as he scored his 32nd goal of the season with assists by Brandon Saad & Artem Anisimov.

The Blackhawks continued to play on their “A” game as Drake Caggiula scored against his old team (with assists by Kane and Jonathan Toews), giving his new team a 5-2 lead.

With assists by Brent Seabrook and Saad, Dominik Kahun scored his 9th goal of the season, giving the Blackhawks a six-goal lead and ended the game on an outstanding note.

There were so many positive things to come out of last night’s game (especially during the third period).

The Blackhawks continued to keep their power play hot with two goals and they were able to score the first goal of the game.

However, I wasn’t thrilled with the unnecessary penalties that they took in the first period. The Hawks need to make sure that they keep themselves disciplined on the ice and not get out of hand with penalties because you never knew what the other team might do with their power play when they get the chance.

I also thought that the Hawks played very well offensively and there were some players that are continuing to keep their point streaks alive (especially Patrick Kane).

All in all, the Blackhawks started and ended their three-game road trip on a very good note. I predict that the more they continue to play well, the more positive outcomes they are going to see from their games.

The Blackhawks are back in Chicago tomorrow night as they play against the Vancouver Canucks. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they can bring their “A” game back on home ice.
