i love you people who draw scars around the cast necks. Love you people who draw the cast with the hair messy. Love you people who draw the cast with visible eye bags and tired sore eyes. Love you people who draw the cast exhausted sick and not fit for this. Love you people who draws the cast never forgetting the absolute horror that they had to live trough

Hi! Who from YTTD cast would use 200 tokens to escape alone and who wouldn't, if they magically could obtain them all?
Sara Chidouin - I feel like this would be an optional ending...so maybe depending on how you play her! The Sara's who are currently somewhere with Nao would likely be open to this option, but the Sara's who spare Kanna would not be as open minded.
Joe Tazuna - I don't think Joe would. He was hesitating to escape when he could have escaped with his best friend in the world, I don't think he could bring himself to escape if it meant abandoning Sara.
Gin Ibushi - No. Gin says in 3B that it bothers him that the group help him all the time and he can't help them back, so I really don't think he'd leave his friends to die.
Keiji Shinogi - My gut instinct says no, but I still think he would do something sleezy with the coins. Like use them to his bartering advantage and also as a way to gain trust from the others.
More Undercut
Alice Yabusame - No. Alice wouldn't abandon his allies.
Reko Yabusame - No. Reko wouldn't abandon her allies.
Nao Egokoro - I don't think she would UNLESS she had the sacrfice card in her hands and literally no other option to survive. I think she would save herself in that case, but she says herself that she didn't want to betray anyone when she had the sacrfice card. So I don't think she would leave and doom the others unless there was no other way out. Though I think would hesitate a lot if she knew that Sara couldn't come with her.
Kazumi Mishima - I can't see Mishima leaving everyone for death. Especially if Nao was alive.
Q-taro Burgerberg - I just have this weird feeling that he would.
Kai Satou - No. Because that would mean abandoning Sara, the only person he wants to protect.
Kanna Kizuchi - Her guilt in the game is surrounding the death of Kugie and not being able to save her. I couldn't see her being willing to kill other people so she could survive, and I think it would likely be a trigger to her trauma to even consider it.
Shin Tsukimi - I'm going to say no, but not because he's just such a good person. He cares enough about Kanna to throw his life away in her name. I don't think he would turn his back and leave her to die. No matter how scared he is of death.
Dolls
Ranmaru Kageyama - Actually. No. I don't think he would. The reason he wants to kill all of the other participants is to escape with Sara. He sees Sara as a friend, and he's such a lonely person that he heavily values her companionship to unhealthy levels. Therefore, I don't think he'd want a lone victory. I think he'd be much more likely to try and escape using the sacrfice card.
Naomichi Kurumada - At the start of his arc, yes. He believes in winning and thinks it's worthless to have allies. Both of those traits would push him toward the vending machine. However, once he grew to care about the other participants, I don't think anything could have convinced him to leave them for dead.
Anzu Kinashi - Maybe on accident. She would think she was getting an actual soda and then accidentally kill everyone. Oopsie. Maybe that's why she has such a high win rate.
Mai Tsurugi - She absolutely would anywhere in her arc before she stabbed Q-Taro. While Mai's not cruel by any means, she says it herself she wants to live. However, like Q-Taro, her heart tends to waiver, and I don't think would do it after her stabbing arc. Yet, I think it's decently likely she'd still consider it for a second before rejecting the idea.
Shunsuke Hayasaka - I think he'd consider it, but then come to the conclusion that he couldn't kill Gin.
Hinako Mishuku - I don't think she would since she's a ASU-NARO agent, and would likely to be told to not do anything so the games could have an actual participant win.

Keiji and Sara’s relationship throughout yttd
In which I analyze the found family dynamic between Sara and Keiji then nobody reads it. But jokes aside, I realized back when that anon asked me for my thoughts on Sara that I had enough thoughts on the relationship between these two alone for its own meta so here goes. What Sara and Keiji’s relationship means in the grand scheme of yttd.
ALSO THIS IS NOT SHIPPING SHIPPERS GET THE FUCK AWAY
Sara when she meets Keiji is distrustful of him. And how can she not be? The guy has some creepy bags under his eyes, doesn’t seem to care about the situation, and for no reason is gravitating towards her. And his response when she asks why the hell he keeps putting a random stranger in charge? “Because you’re cute.” Yeah. I’d stay within 50 feet of this guy too Sara. Especially when he’s not spilling a word about himself.
Alright we might as well get the gross part out of the way. To clear things up. In the Japanese version, the word he uses “Kawai” can be seen as a more fatherly word to use with a kid. But the comments about going on dates from himself and from Shin? Those are still there. And I still think they’re really uncomfortable and wish they weren’t in the game period but we can get thematic significance out of them.
We still don’t know Keijis reasons in game for being attached to Sara. My theory? She’s his handicap. He was told to get close to the higher scorer who could easily backstab him, and he’d be stuck with her. It just kinda makes sense to me. But since that’s just a theory I won’t lean to heavily on it for support. But let’s talk about his comments.
Keiji… well, it’s shown at many points in the game that Keiji just thinks of himself as doomed to be a bad person. It can be seen during his day two negotiations when he calls himself a killer and explains he can’t even trust himself so Sara shouldn’t really bother and more explicitly so is the classroom scene between him and Ranmaru where he says he isn’t fit to protect Sara because of his sins. The flirting is both a way to distract people, and to put distance between himself and Sara. He’s not really “protecting” her.
Okay gross bit nobody wants to talk about is over I promise we won’t talk about it again. Let’s talk about Russian Roulette. In this scene, Keiji once again tries to make Sara the leader with no explanation, but then, Sara yells at him, something he didn’t expect. And through this he actually reveals something huge. The source of his trauma. His shooting. For Keiji to have actually revealed something that big, I think that this is the first moment he began to see Sara past whatever reason he first started making her a leader. This is the beginning of their bond.
This bond gets solidified over chapter 1-2s investigation. Keiji is still putting her in charge because his handicap said to build her up for whatever reason, but they’re able to have chats, and she keeps picking at his armor. He reveals his dark sense of humor to her, and she, suspicious just sort of keeps him at arms length. Also she rides his shoulders to screw in a light and he complains which is funny. The scene post Nao also helps the two of them sharpen investigative skills together, as they discuss the mystery of Miley, and Mishimas head.
Then another significant scene. The white room. I call this scene significant because, instead of letting Sara investigate the gruesome scene of the first trial, Keiji for the first time, allows Sara to walk out. Something that will become relevant later but until then, Keiji has begun to put Sara’s well-being above serving whatever purpose he had by building her up. So keep that in your pocket while we go over the main game.
There’s only two points for the main game I want to cover. While Keiji and Sara do put their heads together a few times, Sara still doesn’t fully trust him, so I will only go over 1. When Shin brings up Kai’s emails. Keiji has been fully logical this whole time, questioning everyone’s alibis including Nao’s who he saw the emotional plea from, but when Sou brings up potentially damning evidence of Sara, he just asks if he read the emails wrong. 2. When Sara is panicking over being chosen for the final round, Keiji loudly shouts “GET A GRIP SARA!” With a serious expression. Before quickly backtracking and going back to a devil may care expression. This shows he is both already emotionally attached to Sara, but unwilling to stake himself towards giving himself to a new cause.
Anyways, he stops her from pressing the button blah blah blah, onto chapter 2! I’ve made a post about this before but it seems as early as here, Keiji is trying to talk Sara down from pushing herself further. But at this point, Sara has already dedicated herself to the role because her best friend died due to her priority to protect everyone. Keiji sees the problem and he tries to get her to rest up, but he still doesn’t spend the time to have a serious talk about it because as he says in the classroom. He isn’t fit to protect her. He doesn’t think of himself as a good person who can help her. He thinks of himself as a murderer and he doesn’t allow himself to recover from the trauma.
Sara however is starting to rely more on Keiji. He’s been willing to comfort her in her times of grief and furthermore, she has something to relate to him on. They both have deaths of important people in their lives they feel responsibility for.
There’s also the fact that Keiji sees a lot of his old self in Sara. An idealistic person, being beaten down, and worrying over the idea they might be becoming a bad person. He feels the same as her.
Not to mention… Keiji follows through on his promises. He actually tells Sara about the person he respected like he said he would which establishes a further sense of trust.
However, something that tears that sense of trust apart is the tokens scene. When Keiji doesn’t even let Sara hold 50 tokens, it raises suspicion. Sara already knows he shot a person- what more could he have to hide? That scares her away. The negotiation event is an attempt for Keiji to win back her trust. But it slowly turns into Keiji’s self-loathing session. And his declaration maybe Sara shouldn’t trust him.
However, time passes enough (and Keiji supports Sara enough in the final attraction) for them to get together and investigate in 2-2. And there’s a lot of moments I can talk about there so I’ll be just doing a few rapidfire things. So first, Sara is in peak weird girl mode and Keiji can hardly control her chaos. Second, Keiji makes a full on decision at one point to go against Sara when she’s putting herself in danger of getting caught for their search so they can hide. Third, his response to “I don’t intend to die” when he asks “will you die with me” is that’s a good answer.
And fourth… a moment I really wanna touch on… Keiji watches something that could easily incriminate Sara. It’s not just some word of mouth thing like with Shin who lied about things several times before this point. But in that moment, he still relies on Sara and says he wouldn’t feel bad betting his life on her. The message is clear. Keiji supports Sara unconditionally.
Now let’s talk about Keiji totally dropping Sara’s ass with the card trades.
The way Keiji makes his trades is very telling. He first, steals a keymaster card from either Sou or Kanna to give to Sara. This is supporting Sara, but it’s doing it in a way that supports his view of himself. That he’s a scumbag who would steal someone’s immunity just to give it to someone he likes more. And would a shithead like that be “worthy” of sacrificing themselves and taking the card for Sara? (And he knew she had it. Qtaro had to tell him for their plan to happen) no. Instead he essentially opts for a revenge plot. A plan to ensnare Shin and kill him for pawning off the sacrifice to Sara. Basically, he wanted to fuck up Shin like how he fucked up Megumi. Nice going Keiji. This is… kind of his low point in the story.
But 3-1….. man this chapter hits in all the right ways. I don’t remember 3A that much, (although I do know that Keiji shows a lot of concern over Sara potentially being triggered by Joe memorabilia) and also if you fail the Keiji Midori fight you can have Sara attempt to tag Keiji and he rejects. And how can we forget… the mr policeman flashback. As Sara says, this is Keiji’s first time opening up on his own.
And then… coffin saga. Sara through everything is not willing to let Keiji die. Although she’s had her ups and downs with him, leaving him to die is inconceivable to her with everything they’ve been through together. So she opts to sign the contract both times she is offered it.
Keiji clearly is somebody important to Sara. Important enough that Ranmaru bringing him up is enough to snap her out of her murderous trance. Enough that she throws logic out the window when she has a sign he’s okay.
Likewise, the scene in the classroom for Keiji is… a huge step. When he’s alone with Ranmaru, who is unstable, in that classroom, his priority is Sara. He turns his back to the threat to hold Sara and try and make sure she’s okay- dumb move, but it shows how far he’s come.
And again, I want to reiterate- Keiji is Sara’s anchor. At the banquet when Sara is about to give up, she imagines Keiji talking to her which brings her back in the game. Much like Joe did back in chapter 2. The message is palpable. Keiji is Sara’s new Joe. And when Keiji comes back to comfort her? He’s now fully willing to sacrifice himself. It winds up not being needed seeing as Qtaro is the one that died. But in that moment, we see Keiji has made a huge leap from chapter 2. He almost sacrificed himself for Gin. And he would’ve used his final moments to comfort Sara. He’s embraced that he’s a father figure. He allows himself to be a good person.
Anyways I don’t know how to conclude this and I’ve been writing for hours. Bababooey.

His Favorite Number
A list of advantages we could say that Mr. 0.0% has received in the death game.
First trial:
- As far as we know there was no way for him to die in his first trial, so he automatically places above everyone else who unfortunately died.
- Explanation of how the Main Game works, including foreknowledge that the rule written on the back of the role cards is just there to scare participants. Resulting consequence:
He was never going to mistakenly pick up the sacrifice card
His knowledge was a tool given to him to use as he wished, and under the Sou persona he used it to manipulate Kanna to follow along with his plan for dealing with the main game. +1 vote on his side is powerful.
A possibly minor point here but his first trial ended quickly enough that he could erase his name off the chalkboard and every floormaster respects his name change enough to not out his secret (until Midori’s floor where participants already know about it anyway). It’s possible the Sou persona is an accounted for advantage because.... (long post continued under cut)
Tumblr media
Because we know this to be an event from a simulation, we can reasonably say AI Shin in the simulations is known to take Sou’s name and the effects this has on his chances are accounted for.
Practice Vote
There is no strong evidence here. May take note that in Shin’s nightmare his shadow told him to vote decisively if he wants to live and there is a fair chance that Shin was Mishima’s #3 vote.
Kai’s laptop
To Shin’s perspective the laptop being left out was an advantage left to anyone that contained time limited hints.
Shin’s personal advantage in this scenario is being the resident computer nerd hackerman so he is among those most likely to unlock the laptop. Which is a skill directly influenced by the real Sou Hiyori, whether or not Shin was already into computers before Hiyori began teaching him.
Tumblr media
Resulting consequences:
Because Shin got into Kai’s laptop and read the emails he was able to pin enough suspicion on Kai to keep votes off of himself regardless of his antagonistic behavior in the main game.
Actually while we’re on the subject let’s just highlight this point
Sou Hiyori’s computer lessons
Shin gravitated towards the laptop for death game clues, he survived the first main game because Kai was deemed a more acceptable (and less risky due to other advantages at play) target.
Shin happened to “find” a laptop charger, keeping the laptop both relevant and under Shin’s control. Useful for when the group was making trade deals for the information contained within, especially when Shin hit a roadblock of needing information from Sara to unlock more files.
Point of suspicion: How does Shin know what to do with Ranger’s chip? We do not know how far advanced Asunaro’s technology is, but we do know Shin can effectively use it.
Because he could use Ranger’s chip, Shin could set up an escape attempt for the group. This directly contributes to the argument in the 2nd main game that he’s too useful to kill off.
Point of suspicion: How does Shin know what to do to activate the Joe AI?
Tumblr media
The computer wouldn’t even turn on when Sara inspected it.
Tumblr media
Even more worrying, chapter 3-1 implies you might need an asunaro ID card to access the AIs. However I’m drifting into speculation territory here.
Misc Chapter 2 Advantages
Because Shin had the stun gun with a single use charge in it he had free reign to choose how to effectively use it, and he used it to take control of where he wanted the sacrifice card to go.
The smartphone was probably intended for Kanna primarily as an advantage to her in some way, however what effects Kanna effects Shin. Had Shin been capable of Sou Hiyori’s level of malice and manipulation it’s possible the cruel phone message could have been a tool for Shin to break Kanna away from Sara so her loyalties would not be split between “big sis” Sara and (big bro) Shin that resulted in the heartbreak we got in the second main game. Being so loving and kind and compassionate is what gets both Kanna and Shin on the chopping block.
I haven’t picked up on any particular advantage Shin might have had in chapter 3-1, but this is already a very long list considering I can barely think of any advantage the other low percentage candidates may have received beyond the assumption that the phone message was intended to raise Kanna’s chances in some manner and advantages are an easy explanation for how Gin sometimes seems like he knows too much.
All this stuff has probably been said before, but I am glad to have gotten confirmation on the theory that Shin has been receiving advantages throughout the death game.

A vent on the fandom + cg
If you dont wanna hear any negativity, please just ignore this post. It includes dissatisfication on the yttd fandom and ongoing belief in it. I'm not going to use very kind words here, so just ignore this post. 3b spoilers included.
I like yttd so much, but the english fandom, i cannot interact because how toxic it is. Even the smallest different of which route you choose, will attract anyone to abuse, harrass, ridicule or humiliate you. And to be truth, there are many of them who are so judgemental, to the point that there is only one thing that are right and the other are wrong. Black and white mindset. The term "canon route" is what fans created itself. I guess there are many of them who are teens or kids, since most of kids who havent grown up yet tend to lean towards black and white mindset, even if they believe they are not. If you find people who keep arguing especially on social media, you can bet that its teens. Adult are too tired to involve in things like fighting with strangers. There is one time when the poll asked your age and the age range quite small to teens age. I guess thats why i think so.
OTHER THAN THAT, THERE'S ONE THING I'M ANNOYED WITH. ABOUT THE CG AND HOW THE FANDOM DECIDES THAT THE MORE CGS, THE MORE CANON IT IS. To be perfectly honest, i'm the one who came up with the analysis that on certain route 2-2 ending the cg is more. But people really use it the wrong way and now thought that anything that has more cg is the canon route. The word canon route is wrong in itself, who tf come up with the term canon route in yttd? Is the reason for creating two route is for one to be canon only, or for sparing different characters, or for having different storyline? (I personally think that on different route, the story will change and the ones who got to live at last is probably different ). Now i see those who misuse that information everywhere. "In sou route 2-2 ending evil joe AI dont even have new cg but in kanna route he has. See how biased the devs are? he should have drawn more if he really meant the route to be the canon one. Kanna route will get happy ending, sou route is bad ending." I think thats stupid. B*tch, he keep reusing his old art here and there. You can check for yourself. Joe and midori has same hand based on the cg? He's just reusing the hand art. The arm in 3b and 1-1 is the same arm he reuse. Sou and kanna 2-2 ending basically use the same sou drawing, he just changed it a bit. Sara in 2-2 kanna ending use the same cg as when keiji try to calm her in front of computer, he just changed the face. Midori and sara on the 3b game screen cg basically use the same cg in the 3b content, but changed a bit. So i can think why need to create new cg when joe is still malicious as the hallucination in 2-2 sou ending? If i want to create something i will also reuse this to save my time.
So if you wanna really use this cg argument, then maybe you can consider why alice memory game got so many more cg than reko's? and how ranmaru gone insane has so many new sprite and pose with the hair like that. And why when dummy is dead they got cg's. Especially the ranmaru dying one, he got moving cg's and how it was put more effort into that. Then that means dummy dying is actually the canon route since when they alive they got no addtional cg? This is my assumption, but i think the devs just do as many cg as it takes depends on how impactful the scene he's working on, not because its canon, thats really a lazy take if he is actually unwilling to do extra route but still forcing himself to do it anyway. Imagine if dummy is dying but no cg, instead a message " ranmaru/mai/anzu died ". Do you think that will really give impact to you? This game clearly hinting that joe is going to be the spotlight of the game, even in 3b. So when sou set the real joe ai in kanna route for sara, the script is written for the real joe to genuinely react to sara. of course thats going to be heartwrenching since joe himself is the very important part of sara's life. When the script is made that way, lacking of cgs will hamper down the storytelling nankidai genuinely want to deliver. All i can say is it come from the heart of the author himself. If it is just only text for something as tearful as that moment and no cgs, it wont really touch the feeling isnt it? It is the same with alice memory game that tells about how alice "kill" midori. I'm not sure how many it is but atleast there is 3 cgs with one of them has variant. The story of how alice kill midori is also important and should have impact, thus the extra CG's. I can say its about being passionate and indulged in the storytelling.
I dont even know if joe will ever heal sara in sou route, but based on how the story still keep joe relevant til the end, then there must be something that need to happen between them in the end right? Nankidai even made sure that sara see the dog keychain in 3a if player probably choose to not ask gin about the dog keychain he's hiding in ch 2. Its also for relating ranmaru and joe. Having closure or conclusion with joe in the middle of game is still valid, and having a closure with joe at the end of the game is still valid. Imo, having closure with joe at the end of the game after all of those suffering involving him makes the better climax or impact for sara chara development since the game build up to highlight joe and mr. Policeman, it can be even better if all of it are to be pull together in the ending.
Even if the devs has route he prefer, he's not abandoning any route he less prefer, only if its true that he ever have a route he prefer. Plus you dont know which route he's prefer if any. He's taking his work seriously, it just some "fans" looking down on him, even to the point calling him biased, he's punishing the one who take another route, treating like he only use his career for egostatiscal reason (it somehow clearly mirrors that you are the one who egostatiscal to the point of wanting to find any excuse to punish other, you just using the devs name to validate your mindset). If he's dislike people who chose that route that much, then why create that route? If he know its tiring to make alternate route, then why still make the choice to let 3 dummy alive route at the end? It will make more work. I can only assume its out of passion, or just that he deep down wants the character to be alive atleast in a route ( idk if this is correct, i just read google translated version of his public fanbox that he's actually very reluctant at first when the time comes and "crying" so hard when he had to kill joe in chapter 1. So the part where he wants to spare some character is only my assumption ). By this punishing logic, shouldnt he not make alice die when you push reko ai to spare gin, and only do it to those who dont push the ai to save gin by killing real reko? I am more sure that the variants is to tell a different story or who to spare, and specifically for who sara actually was.
Happy endings? I'm not sure. I've expected that once from story with a lot of deaths, wishing for atleast the protagonists alive. Anime or story with a lot of death is definitely my jam, but from what i see, most of them has bittersweet ending, it depends on how the author wants it to be. Some author dont mind killing them all till the end, and some author just easily kill them all because they plan to revive them later. And everyone sense is different. Some japanese people sense in storytelling is a bit different imo. As the one being the audience, happy endings is the most common wish the audience wants. But its all up to the sense of the author. This is why i'm annoyed with some kids from overseas who rarely watch or play many things that involves a lot of death from japan suddenly says that this "one happy ending, this one bad ending! Everyone will survive in this route, everyone dead in this route"
Just play any route you like, nothing wrong with that. Whats wrong is to start this war of ridiculing others or have that irritating attitude towards those who play their own first route and start bad mouthing or desperately throwing bad assumption that one route will end very bad just for the sake of feeling better for your choice and to scare others. You do know that when you read a book, you'll only know if the overall story is good or bad until you know the ending right? The ending will conclude everything that happened. What happening in the fandom is now like, you only read 3/4 of the book and already expecting that this one will have good ending and bad ending. What if its not about the binary, but for the difference in direction? Its not that bad if the story of the book is kinda predictable, but with how plot twists become the main part of yttd's charm, its getting more difficult to predict how it will end. There's a lot of story which was masterpiece in every part as seen by fans, until the ending hits. Its what the author wants, but its not what the fans wants.
If you pick fights with others, even passively, the consequence is all on you. Good luck taking care of your mess.
Thats why i'm reluctant to publish any theory because the fandom will always use it as an excuse to pick fights with other and say " i'm more right bcs i got this proof" . U see in my caption i dont want any of those harasser to even digest my theory. If you are one of them get out of my blog.

4 and Shin? That's a dark one, but you write him well so I'd trust you with it. If you want something lighter instead, 17 for Shin!
Thank you for asking this! As you can see, I got into a very deep ramble about his life pre-death game and it doesn’t really tie in but I’ve kept it there :)  The last few parapraghs are the actual answers ahaha. Play some sad music in those paragrapths because I nearly cried with halloween music in the background.    4) What they would do if they had one month to live.   If Shin had one month left to live? We see it in the game kind of. Or at least kind of. Obviously imitating your ‘scary friend’ most likely abuser to try and turn everyone against your biggest threat isn’t going to work in real life.
What the game and his 0.0% score does tell us (or heavily shove in our direction so we infer it) is that Shin is petrified of certain death to the point of desperation.
I do believe/headcanon that he is a very logical person. Almost everything he does is backed up by logic in the death game except for his last moments because screw logic that’s never worked before.  (The opposite of Keiji who’s likely very emotional until his potential last moments but this isn’t about him). So the question is, when did Shin’s last moments begin for him?  As the player, it’s when it’s that final choice between him and Kanna. To Shin this is likely a very different response. His last moments start the very second he gets told he’s doomed to die. Almost all of Shin’s choices in the game are emotional. Trusting Sara or at least earning her trust is the logical choice here. Making yourself her enemy because you are scared is the emotional one. He just lies to himself on the basis that she’s untrustworthy. Which, you can trick yourself into believing is logical.  It triggers a kind of flight or fight response in all our characters when they realise they can die here. All the cast barr Shin choose to fight and try and escape. Shin chooses the flight option here. Nothing he does actually prevents his death in the end. He just runs away from the inevitable doom.
I am once again inferring by comparing him to rest of the cast the death is a deep rooted trauma (and I definitely have thoughts on why). While the concept of death is one that scares everyone, no one seems to revel in it the way Shin does. He is living an incredibly safe life. A free lance programmer (by the sounds of it)  which earns an average of £60 an hour. He has a side job at a convenience store (that wasn’t a lie). He doesn’t leave his apartment much meaning he doesn’t have much of a social life. Shin is in a position in life where it’ll be near impossible to hurt him. Obviously he isn’t earning 60 quid an hour, but he has the potential too. Once he’s set up and successful, he’ll be able to die old. Alone, maybe not happy, but old.  For a guy likely in his early to mid twenties, things are bound to change but only as much as he lets them. From one person who will happily spend all their life in their own company to another, Shin isn’t going to change that. Not when he’s too scared to let someone past arms width and will avoid doing so. By the time he gets his game together and his skinny self to therapy it’ll likely be too late to make the same connections he has the chance too at his current age.  It’s not emotional because even the most introverted of introverts desires a life all alone. It’s a logical one for the fears and life he has. I don’t think that means he isn’t happy. It just thinks there’s a potential that he could have been happier.
For Midori to have gotten as close as he was and no one to pull up the red flags his friends either didn’t care or didn’t exist. Most likely the latter seeing as he is very much in the process of mourning three years after his friends death. He likely wasn’t close enough to his parents to feel he could go to them over something as silly as Midori’s death. In the aftermath, Shin will be confused and muddled. In some ways, he’ll be elevated because he is free, he can move on. In other ways he’ll be lost, devastated and empty. Shin will also have a semblance of independence back. He doesn’t think he shows enough gratitude to his parents for materialistic items. Midori’s abuse was likely emotional or verbal. It probably consisted of vague threats, put downs, anger, power dynamics and a shrug at Shin’s emotions. I’m in no way a professional but after years of this Shin is going to think his emotions are something he should be able to handle himself, something he might not be able to do if he started to repress them in his teens. Shin likely has a warped sense of independence. Instead of being free from others control, he’ll likely think it means he can’t get help and must deal with everything alone.
Being told that his death is round the corner strips two things that he values most away from him. He now has zero control over his life and worse, it ends with him dyeing. Shin would grasp for straws to have that independence back and therefore escape his own death. If he couldn’t get his independence back then he’ll try and avoid the end outcome.
His last month would be a goose chase to avoid death. There’d be a list of everything he has to do. Fuck his jobs, fuck debt he needs to get to the hospital. Get checked up! Make sure he’s well. He’d do it everyday. Does he have enough medicine? Wet wipes, stock up on healthy food, hand sanitizer? Does he have enough hand sanitizer? Make sure his room is squeaky clean, don’t let anyone in, don’t answer the phone. Bolt the windows and live off ramen and debt for the rest of the month. Beanie on, beanie off, what is he going to die from? Has he prevented any possible cause? He’s forgotten to call his parents. That’s fine because he shouldn’t be dyeing anyway. It’s logical. It’s all logical. This is not his fear of death speaking through everything he is doing is logical! Now he just needs to figure out what’s causing this all? How did that person know? Then on the last day. He’d just give up. He’d finally pick up that phone and call his parents. He’d thank them and explain. He’d apologize for the debt because he’s swimming in it then he’d hang up. Shin would then proceed to cry in bed all day and trying to sleep so he just doesn’t wake up.  Then, while it’s a tragedy, I think he’d accept it. I don’t think he ever really thought he had a chance but his emotions drove him round and round in circles. Maybe he would regret his whole life and look back on it all. In a none death game scenario Shin seems like a brooder. He doesn’t have Kanna to live for so he has no reason to push forward. I think in the end he’d reach the conclusion his life was pretty pointless. Just as he’d slip from consciousness I imagine he’d think of Midori. Nearly everything we know about Shin seems to revolves about Midori . We, the player, never know him before the guy entered his life. That guy has a big impacts in his life and in a world where that was the only person to leave such a big mark? I think he’d go back to Midori. Especially with nothing to distract him from his mourning.
It’s quite sad really. He lets his fear control him too much. Midori controls him too much and they’re both aware of that fact. But in the short, Shin would try and avoid his death. Hell he’ll likely die of exhaustion or caffeine overdose
His ending in the main game, I think that’s the best way Shin could have gone at that age. Dying for Kanna and letting go of his cynicism.
Ending this off with 17 because I need that jokeness now, after all that.
17) What would they sing at Karaoke?
Everyone expects Shin to like bang out with some Beyonce or something. Maybe one of those silly little disney parodies. Everyone would make a joke about what he should sing because he’s indecisive as hell.
Keiji Kai and all of those mature adults suggest Single Ladies,  Mr. Brightside,  Fireworks, Wannabe because classic Karoke songs you actually have to be able to sing when Shin 100% can’t? Count them in!
Midori would suggest something embarrassing he knew wouldn’t even be funny to watch. Just painful.
Gin, Sara, Reko and Alice are snickering behind their hands as they suggest Poor Unfourtunate Souls,  How Bad Can I Be (Alice ended up doing that one), The oogie boogie song and the price Ali reprise.
When he refuses Sara refuses to let him get away with not being painted as some corny villian and dedicates her singing of Cruella De Vil to him.
Then Kanna taps on his shoulder and tells him what to sing and A: It’s Kanna’s suggestion B: It’s not and a bonus C if he’s drunk: He gets to whack a certain police officer and teacher with a hockey stick.
And my inner theatre Kid shines through as he I say Shin sings Revolting Children and can’t get his letters write, drunk or sober.
‘R e v o t l i n !’  instead of ‘ R E V O L T I N G’
‘S P L L!’ instead of ‘ S P E L’
‘TOO LATE FOR YOU?’ Instead of  ‘ 2-L-8-4-U ‘
I kid you not I have knows this song for years and I still struggle. You can not do that spelling rhythm first time.
Also the lines. The lines!   We will become a screaming hoard.//Take out your hockey sticks and use it as a sword.// Never again will we be ignored.//We'll find out where the chalk is stored// And draw rude pictures on the board.
It’s such a childish song but it’s so hard. He struggles and struggles and one day he will get it because it’s so simple and why can’t he do it roght! Also, it suits him. Sue me.

how about 10 and 23 for the ask game?
10. Which death hurt you the most?
- I'VE THOUGHT ABT THIS A LOT ACTUALLY COS LIKE... ok so like 1st time i played yttd? joe + kai's TORE ME TO PIECES. i played the shin lives route and couldn't play for MONTHS afterwards because i was just so wounded by joe and kai's death, i couldn't bear to see those again. HOWEVER... kanna's death hit me in a different way. might just be 'cause i waited so long to play the kanna lives route, but i fr sat with that guilt of her death for so long and the more analysis i read about her and shin the worse i felt about it?? so it's hard to say bc joe and kai's are the ones that will make me cry but kanna's is the one that will keep me up at night and haunt me. they're all very tragic, though...
23. Character you find suspicious?
- GIN. BABY BOY IS SUS AS HELL 😭😭 idk bout mastermind or anything but like... ok so like i saw this post and it pointed out how he made That One Sprite (with the wide neon green eyes) after u tell him that q-taro's been tazed or smth like that?? may be misremembering but it's weird!! plus there's the collar thing and how he keeps surviving, as other ppl have pointed out cos i totally didn't notice all of this myself lol. don't understand why asunaro would plant an agent in the game tho tbh...
also mai and hinako!!!! mai really scared me first time i played thru the game and there's the whole deal of her blushing (+ the gloves missing, if that matters..?) and she's still a little spooky with how cheerful she is in such a situation, especially after that death, though i guess she's just trying to cope best as she can
and my spooky daughter, hinako!!!! oh she is SO sus, like the most sus, but whatever happens cannot make me love her less because i love her. ANYWAY I THINK SHE'S SUS partially because of her disposition but MOSTLY because of her trial!! the painting isn't the same as her, so i keep wondering about it!!!! so, there's two possibilities... 1) hinako is the same person as the black haired girl and just looks different For Some Reason and 2) hinako and the black haired girl are different people. i think 2's more likely, so i'm operating under the assumption that the person we saw in the trial wasn't our hinako, but perhaps the real hinako mishuku? i'm fr just assuming that asunaro switcharooed her with the real one as an agent (but then again, still don't know why they'd need an agent in the death game lmao.) OR hinako could've led to the black-haired girl's death and / or assumed her identity (perhaps hinako was a non-candidate and wanted a chance to live...?) but i do think the chances of my latter guesses are slim as they are kind of just a mishmash of keiji and shin's first trials lol. but i do think it'd be kinda cool if hers paralleled theirs!! either way i wanna know what made her traumatized then beat it up 😭😭 i love her and i'm very excited to learn more abt her
ooooop that was rambly my b 👉🏼👈🏼

Feelings about YTTD characters up until ch2 [long rant]
Spoilers will be marked like this: spoilers.
So like OBVIOUSLY spoiler warning. I haven’t gotten into chapter 3 yet because I finished ch2 at like 2am and I had online school the next day and all my emotional stamina was something more like emotional stamiNO
Let’s start by talking about characters!!!
Keiji Shinogi
So...can you guess who’s my favorite...? If you guessed Keiji you are absolutely correct. I said this on insta but he could snap me like a twig if he wanted, and I’m NOT joking.
At the start I was very worried that he’d be a bad guy, but I very quickly fell in love with him (and yeah, it did help that he’s pretty hot shut up).
He’s just...so fuxking sweet? He just cares so much about you, has been very helpful and honestly he ended up being the most trustworthy. This game has been NERVE wrecking and his encouragement throughout the chapters and the choices really helped me...he’s just amazing, I have NO words to express how much I love him <333
If he dies I will die with him, probably from crying.
Not to mention that his backstory and trauma...it broke my heart seeing him so down and I really wanted to comfort him at that moment. But what REALLY broke my heart was how careful and worried he was about you during your hallucinations, even though he was also having quite a hard time with his own demons...
Sou Hiyori (Shin Tsumuki)
...or should I say Shin Tsumiki? Oh God, the beanie man...
I honestly don’t don’t know how exactly to feel about him. Since I am into Danganronpa, I did come across Yttd memes and I had already seen all of the Kokichi comparisons and such. That’s why I expected lots of lies, tomfoolery and overall rat-ness. And well...yeah that’s what I got pretty much! Even though he annoyed me greatly the moment the bs happened, I can’t help but be interested and fond of him...after all his love and care for Kanna was quite apparent, and I felt like he really went through changes and slowly opened up...
I was really stumped on what to do when the final voting time came on the second main game. I didn’t want to kill Shin because as I said, I am fond of him. Not to mention I was so impressed by his abilities and what he had to offer and I really wanted to see more of him...! However, after abusing the multiple save files and seeing the outcomes of all the voting options I decided I’d kill him off. The logic route was just too cruel for both him and Sara. Him having to live with the survivors guild and his hatred of Sara not only hurt me but also scared me in terms of what he’d do to sabotage her. Those fears were made worse after I saw what crap he pulled with that Joe hologram...absolutely no. On the other hand, the feeling route had a much more emotionally satisfying ending. it seemed as if both Sara and Shin got their salvation. I actually cried at the AI scene, and I felt as if not only Sara, but I had also I had been freed of this crushing weight...all because of Shin. I will however replay it sometime and will let him live, just to see how Sou and him would interact...
Kanna Kizuchi
Oh Kanna...
Honestly I do sympathize with Kanna. I too am a notorious crybaby and would also be nominated because I’d be weak. From the moment I saw her I just KNEW I wanted to protect her and keep her safe from people like Shin...
The entire sister backstory cut deep, and I was really happy to take the role of her older sister, it just felt like the right thing to do ya know? Anyway overall I do want to protect her and love her!!!
Her death at the logic route was HEARTBREAKING. It was so painful and it just added to the overall...hurt of the damn thing, which is why I ultimately kept her alive. I am quite excited to see what she has to offer, since it seemed like she had MAJOR character development after that ending and I pray it was worth sacrificing Shin...
Joe Tazuna
What!!! A!!! Baby!!! Love...!!! Love is stored in the Joe!!! He has one of my favorite character designs, it’s just really cute! He truly gives me “childhood friend” vibes! I love how supportive he was of Sara. He was always by her side and truly seemed to love her! Personally I think they were just close friends, and didn’t have any romantic feelings for each other, but that’s up for interpretation! Overall amazing character, very good boy!
His death...just absolutely destroyed me...and then the hallucinations just made everything worse. I felt the despair in Sara during those. Absolutely heart wrenching.
Kai Satou
He’s beautiful and I am quite in love with him. His quiet and calm demeanor reminds me of Korekiyo in Danganronpa, one of my favorite characters of all time! Most of what I want to say about him are spoilers though so...this first part will be quite short.
FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKF U C K. All he wanted was to protect Sara...he did his best but ultimately was found out. Even in the end, he tried his best to be useful and encouraged Sara, resisting Miley’s bs! Just...a best boy.
Gin Ibushi
Much like Kanna, I really just want to protect him! At first I was a bit creeped out, but I warmed up to him!!! He’s really cute and I loved sword fighting him!!!
Nao Egokoro
She’s was bit annoying at the start, but I ended up liking her after all! Her bond with Mishima was very cute and I liked how she grew throughout the story.
I liked how Mishima’s death affected her and ultimately contributed to her growth. I admit she did scare me with the whole fake Mishima AI thing, but ultimately I was glad she was sane...her death was sad, especially the painting she didn’t get to finish...but the little cut-scene at the end was really sweet.
Kazumi Mishima
KOMAEDA- okay no but!!! I love him a lot actually! He was really fun to be around and his affection towards Nao really showed! I’ve also had really strong bonds with teachers overtime so it really hit home!
I hate that he had to die first smh...such a feral man...
Reko Yabusame
My goth wife..................................what a lass. I love her a lot. She funky, spunky AND dramatic!!! I just love her a lot!!!
I honestly was quite sad she didn’t get to reconcile with Alice. I could feel that he really cared about her...
Gonbee Yamada (Alice Yabusame)
I don’t have strong feelings for him. His design just sends me into a goddamn frenzy...He got all the primary colors in his hair. Honestly, bold.
I felt really bad for him since he died trying to avenge his “dead” sister and they never ended up being in good terms even though both of them wanted to.
Q-taro Burgerberg
Again, no strong feelings! He’s a bro and I always feel like I have to fist bump my screen every time that one sprite shows...you know the one!
The whole swapping cards bs...oh sis that one SCARED me.
Sara Chidouin
The main girl herself! I like her! She’s cute, she’s determined...I don’t really have much to say about Sara because I play her like she’s me basically...however! I will say that her bond with Joe is ADORABLE! And of course...her relationship with Keiji...very cute too, but as I said, I do view her as a replica of me, so take that as you will!
And that’s all I have to say about that. If this was to have a general conclusion its be that yttd has great characters, and it was hard for me to pick someone to die...!

saRA au where all the characters are housemates and live in the same building. Chaos ensues. No one ever sleeps, gin is often found in various closets or on top of places he shouldnt be able to reach. Sou is almost always doing something cryptic or ominous w keiji on his tail bc What if he breAKS SOMETHING- and sara is the Peace keeper which never goes well. What r ur thoughs owo - jouminecraft
*cracks knuckles* lets d o t h is (but under a cut bc l one)
first of all the apartment complex belongs to mishima because to me he honestly seems like a landlord (but the nice kind)
nao is the one who’s lived there the longest, then sou and keiji and after that everyone joined until the newest residents sara and joe
both reko and alice and sara and joe live together (and nao has her own room in mishimas apartment because she’s basically his daughter anyway)
mishima only rents apartments to people who really need one and don’t have much money, and he personally arranges prices with each one, to adjust it to the amount they’re able to spend
for example, nao is a struggling student, gin’s mom a single mom etc.
he’s really nice and all the residents love and adore him (and so should you)
yea so, gin’s mom obviously left his dad (as she should in any good au) and their life isn’t exactly perfect, gin still has nightmares about his dad and while physical scars may have faded the ones left on the soul will take time
but everyone helps them and is there for them so all’s well that ends well
kanna lives with her dad. her parents divorced without any complications, they simply decided it wasn’t working anymore and it would be better to go separate ways than life together and have the kids sense the uneasiness. initially they agreed that the mom would take both kanna and her sister with her,but kanna didn’t want her dad to be all alone so she decided to go with him
both her mom and sister were sad and tried to convince her otherwise but her mind was set. they still regularly meet up tho
nevertheless kanna still misses her sister a lot, that’s probably why she instantly latches onto sou
sou is like ???  when that sweet kid latches onto him and basically follows him around 24/7 and looks up to him and he’s just;;;; constantly scared of fucking up
keiji constantly teases him about ‘his little puppy’ but also encourages him that he’s doing great with her
naos an art student and works part time at a flower shop, reko and alice have their band (bc yesh), aara and joe art first years in uni and work part time at a coffee shop, keiji is uhhh well he SAYS he’s a policeman but-, q-taro is the same as canon, kai is a semi-famous chef and honestly who the fuck even knows what sou does
(as one of those peeps that get paid for intentionally hacking into company’s security to expose weaknesses, but if u honestly think he doesn’t leave a loophole for himself then you are a fool-)
actually both keiji and mishima know what he does for a living but they think it’s fun seeing everyone guessing (it’s one of the nine mysteries of the mishima apartment complex)
actually speaking of keiji and sou, literally EVERYONE, including nao, who’s lived there months BEFORE either sou or had keiji moved in, think the two are dating
are they tho?
who the fudge knows, they sure as hell don’t
(mishima does tho)
gin INSTANTLY latches onto sara bc he accidentally ripped his cat plushie the first time he met her and she instantly repaired it, without hesitation
stuff like that leaves an impression on a boy
and joe producing ice cream out of nowhere does, too
basically everyone is understanding of kanna’s dad’s and gin’s mom’s situation and someone’s always there to babysit them if the need arises
kanna and gin basically establish a greater bond with each other than even sara and joe
except if it comes to whether sara and sou is better bc then:
Tumblr media
sometimes they meet up in the hallways and just run through all the floors anyone they know lives on until someone just lets them in
they insist they’re not doing it on purpose, that they’re just bored, but they’re a little TOO satisfied while eating the snacks they get offered
reko and alice had their fair share of problems in the past, but both of them have been trying very hard to rebuild their broken relationship and moving in together has been a good choice for that
alice does everyone’s hair! he always styles it for the band and it’s fun, and he makes the craziest hair styles. kanna and gin are always awed at his creations
reko tried to teach both kanna and gin the piano, but after a while it got obvious that kanna had more of an affinity for it. but gin’s always rooting for her and the first one to listen while she’s practicing
sou has two cats. they’re outdoor cats so for the longest time everyone saw them but didn’t know who they belonged to, until sara finally notices what looks suspiciously like cat hair clinging to sou’s clothes…..
the cats are very friendly and outgoing and whenever someone falls asleep one sou’s couch they immediately cuddle up to them
and with cuddle up i mean lie on your face
no one has the heart to remove them though
since sou has the biggest apartment (seriously, WHERE does he get the money for it? and all that fancy stuff? sara’s going mad not knowing, especially since he’s always at home!! sometimes he doesn’t even get his own groceries, he just sends gin and kanna to get them - telling them they can get themselves sweets ofc, but that’s not the point!!) kai usually invites everyone over for dinner at sou’s at least once or twice. sou always complains why no one ever asks him for permission, but all of them see that he enjoys kai’s food just as much as everyone else so there’s that
joe and sara actually live together because joe didn’t want to burden his family any longer and also wanted to be independent and sara just… went along with it because why not. could be fun. they’re actually pretty good roommates, everyone does their part (most of the time, at least - sara will never let Joe forget that one time she asked him to wash her pantyhose and he didn’t and she had to go out in socks and a skirt during winter)
jsjef ok so I think that’s enough for now bc I don’t want it to be.. heh..to m much.. haha but i still have more ideas, and you can always ask me about this au! (or any of my other aus, honestly)

Thoughts on Your turn to die ch. 2 pt. 2
TL;DR HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOI I CAN’T WAIT FOR NEXT CHAPTER IM SO EXCITEDDDDD
wow! This was a crazy one!!
Ok first of all? I completely trust Keiji, like with my life, I will die being betrayed by this man because I will literally do anything he says from now on, I don’t care sdkfjsdkgdfg when he gave me the keymaster card at the start, right in front of my face, I knew there was no going back, I will follow this man to hell and back if he asked me to. Even if now I know he wasn’t *actually* the keymaster to begin with, I still trust him. The reveal of his backstory didn’t surprise me all that much and it honestly doesn’t change my opinion on him at all, I don’t think it’s supposed to, I just love him too much at this point.
It was really cool to be able to go back to the first floor, even if it hasn’t really been that long since we last saw it, but HA! I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING UP WITH THE HEART WINDOW IN THE PINK ROOM! Actually I was 100% sure Miley had come from there to begin with, I’m glad we got that little bit of information confirmed and even got some more victim videos and stuff from that room, I wonder if there was really someone standing in the other room...? Maybe that’ll get answered later like with the roster and the list of names in the bar.
This part! gave a lot of payoff!!!! That makes me really glad that we got some old mysteries cleared up, we finally got to use the blackboard in the bar and the black room with the paper shredder in the second floor, I really want the white room to be explained as well, but I’m guessing that’s gonna take a while too. I wonder what Gin was doing in the lower floors that whole time...? That didn’t really come up a lot, did it? Unless I forgot or missed it (completely possible)
It was interesting to get sacrifice role for a bit there, but I liked how it was handled, I don’t know what Sara would’ve actually done if she had stayed the sacrifice for the trial, but it was cool to see her freakout and then her recovery.
Okay, but now for the interesting stuff... hoooo boi this main game was a trip, full of twists and interesting reveals, pretty much everyone had a plan going on in the background and it was fun to see it unfold, even if it got VERY confusing towards the second half kdjdfkgtrfdh. I think I liked Keiji’s and Q-Taro’s plan the most, cause it made a lot of sense and it was the easiest one to follow.
I’m... surprised about Nao, to be completely frank, the acting she did to trick the fake Mishima’s AI was really cool and I’m really happy the development she got in part one wasn’t wasted. I loved seeing her development throughout the game and it’s honestly surprising to me how willing to sacrifice everybody she was, the Massacre ending was certainly an interesting one and if this game is gonna have multiple endings I’m glad this was one of them, it’s definitely an interesting outcome to see play out and I’m sure it brings for a lot of good AUs and scenarios. Now I want an ending where Joe’s role isn’t exposed and Sara escapes with him.
Kanna!! She was great, I was wondering if anyone would be selfless enough to actually be willing to throw their life away in favor of the rest or in favor of someone in particular and Kanna did just now, even if her plan didn’t carry out like she wanted thanks to Gashu, it was a good reveal that I feel makes a lot of sense. Her relationship with Sou was certainly interesting, if a little confusing, because Sou was really, really attached to her at the end and I’m not completely sure why’s that, but it was very heartwarming nonetheless. I have no idea if they simply developed a bond behind the scenes or if there was much to their relationship, but booooi did it have some wild ramifications at the end. And finally Kanna’s death was..... yikes lmao, poor girl.
Okay but to finish it off, Sou..... I think Sou was simultaneously the best and worst part of this chapter. Don’t get me wrong, he was so interesting, and I already mentioned I loved the little plan he and Kanna had before the main game, but his motives and actions are still... so unclear to me? Okay, he was so scared of dying that he basically made a whole different persona and acted like a dick most of the time, but to me, it was just confusing to see him fluctuate from being an absolute jerk to just extending his hand and saying “let’s be friends!!!!” and then repeating that cycle like 3 more times. Once or twice it’s fine, but I need to settle on a fucking opinion on him and to be honest I still am not sure.
Regardless of my mixed opinions about his whole character, I think he was great in the main game, finally, finally I felt like I could trust him to cooperate, I never labeled him as evil or downright antagonistic, but it was only in this main game that I felt like he was finally cooperating with us, especially after telling us about his first trial. I think his efforts to find an escape were genuine as well and it was cool to see him being so dependable.
Okay, so, I tried out both of the routes for the final vote. My first choice was to kill Kanna and let Sou live, mostly because I wanted to honor Kanna’s wish and I agreed with her that Sou was more valuable to the team as a whole, also because I thought his character had more to give to the story than Kanna’s. Having seen both I feel like the game isn’t really forcing a “correct choice” on the player, but killing off Sou is definitely a more happy ending lmao.
Comparing the endings I think it’s clear that Sou tampered with Joe’s AI if you let him live, which is.... incredibly shitty of him lmao but tbh we DID piss him off and he’s literally out for blood by that point, so it makes sense. I’m guessing if you let him live he WILL really become an antagonist for the final chapter, or something similar. It’s just really interesting to see how differently his character ends depending on whether you kill Kanna or not. It’s obviously a MAJOR choice that will have HUGE ramifications for the final chapter, so I’m really curious how different and how similar the two routes are going to be.
Lastly, Sara ends in such different mental states in the two routes (thanks Sou lmao) and it’s gonna be fascinating to see that play out in the final chapter. Her last interactions with the Joe AI were 1 beautiful and heartwarming and almost made me cry and 2 awful and terrible and oh god Sou really hates us lmao
I guess I’ll continue playing with the Sou is dead route when the next chapter comes out, but I’ll be sure to check out both routes.
