BnHA 6th Popularity Poll Reaction Post - Risky Spoiler-Dodging Edition

hey guys, so seeing as the results from the 6th popularity poll were leaked today, I figured I would do a separate reaction + analysis post this year, rather than piling it in as an extra on top of the chapter reaction post tomorrow. I figure this makes more sense anyway, since they’re really two completely different things. also this way I can write as much as I want lol.

also, just fyi, I am still completely unspoiled for chapter 293. and probably the smart thing to do to keep it that way would be to log off tumblr and hold off posting this until tomorrow, but I apparently have no impulse control today so oh well. anyway, so I’m hoping you guys will keep this spoiler-free if you don’t mind! as always, I would prefer to just jump right in completely unaware tomorrow like Troy returning to the study room with the pizza boxes lol.

okay so this first part is just going to be my predictions. fyi I am writing this part on Wednesday night, and then I’ll add on the results part on Thursday or Friday (ETA: Thursday, apparently, since I am impatient.)

okay so first of all, just as a refresher, this poll was open to Japanese voters from Aug 3 to Sep 30. meaning chapters 279 through 285. meanwhile last year’s poll took place around the tail end of the MVA arc. so between then and now we had Heroes Rising, the Endeavor Agency arc, and the War arc up to the part where the 1-A kids took on Gigantomachia in Gunga, and started battling Tomura in Jakku. so technically only a couple of arcs, but a LOT of stuff going down in them. oh and season 4 of the anime as well

so! firstly, I predict that my truculent africanized honeybee son will hold on to his crown at #1, coming off a year in which he did some internship-boosted soul searching, borrowed OFA in movie canon, and finished out the voting period as the my-body-moved-on-its-own character development MVP. like CALL ME CRAZY lol, but I’m pretty sure his title is safe. and then after him will be Deku and Shouto as usual

Aizawa should hopefully also have a strong showing because the dude had a banner fucking year. reunited with his old dead friend, took on Tomura with his hopelessly inept hero pals, and then chopped his fucking leg off. he had better be in the top 10. his fucking leg died for this, idk what else he has to do

Endeavor also stands a decent chance of doing well given the internship arc and the final episode of season 4. which I’m sure will go down just swimmingly if that does happen lmao. especially if he somehow manages to rank higher than...

Dabi, which I don’t think he will btw, but you never know. anyways though, but I’m thinking Dabi’s going to have a stronger showing than in past years (in the last poll he only got 367 votes and was ranked 19th). mostly because of his fight in the Gunga mansion, and his cheekily censored name reveal to...

Hawks, who is also going to rank pretty high here, I think. might be he loses some points for killing off Twice, but his back was basically to the wall there. and he has always been very popular, and I think season 4 will also give him a boost, along with his heavy involvement in the first half of the War arc

Tomura was already in 6th place last year and I think he cracks the top 5 this year. he’s gotten exponentially more popular since the MVA arc, and got a boost in the last poll even though his flashback had only just barely happened, and he hadn’t finished Awakening yet and all that stuff. anyway, so he’s only gotten cooler and more tragic since then so I think he makes a big play here

Kirishima, Momo, Tokoyami, and Mina should also hopefully do well, since the poll opened right in the middle of all that Gigantomachia action, and Toko had just got done being an absolute badass and protecting his birb dad. I don’t think he’ll quite make it to the top ten, but he should

and last but not least, I’m hoping that Mirko will come out and take the polls by storm, although I have no clue how popular she is in Japan lol. she’s clearly Horikoshi’s favorite though. she SHOULD be everyone’s favorite, but I mean, we’ll see how it goes

anyway that’s it as far as predictions! and so now, through the magic of writing stuff at different times, we will fast-forward to the part where we actually find out the results!

OH MY GOD YES, STEAMPUNK KHLKSLLKL. HERE FOR IT. JOLLY GOOD SHOW. 5 STARS

Kacchan looks SO COCKY and SO HAPPY and SO ADORABLE, YES I SAID IT. he is adorable as FUCK. I don’t quite know what it is about this particular Kacchan that just screams “LOOK HOW FUCKING CUTE MY STUPID, LOUD SON IS WITH HIS BIZARRE WINDOWPANE-LOOKING CONVERTIBLE SUNGLASS GOGGLES and his POORLY TIED CRAVAT”, but I think it’s because he looks like if a Digimon character and a FMA character had a baby

anyway, so it looks like most of the people present here are more or less who we expected to see. except that I can’t tell for sure if that’s Dabi or Shindou, and if it’s Shindou I’m going to punch somebody in the face so you will have to excuse me

Iida wearing a TRENCHCOAT and a TOP HAT with ENGINE EXHAUST GOGGLE ACCENTS is my new favorite Iida of all time. take note how there is no possible way he can wear those goggles with them sitting on top of his hat like that. plus he’s already got glasses on. these are just purely for aesthetic and IF THAT AIN’T JUST THE STEAMPUNK WAY

Deku out here speaking softly and carrying a lead pipe. Kacchan you best look out. seems like he’s done watching you take first place year after year while he languishes in the number two spot. your only hope is that he trips while attacking you because his boots are unbuckled

Shouto’s standing over there with the rest of the non-first-and-second-place characters, but what are the odds his results are actually within spitting distance of Deku’s same as always. anyway he doesn’t mind, though. also his outfit is by far the most sensible one here, but if you look closely he’s got some sort of fire extinguisher/jet pack thing strapped to his back that’s got a control switch on his belt. Shouto are you jetpacking or putting out fires

anyway, so there were actually 13k fewer votes cast this year which is a bit of a surprise. is the series not still growing in popularity? do people apparently have better things to do during their quarantine lol

anyways but despite this, and despite getting 8k fewer votes overall, Kacchan still managed almost twice as many as his closest competitor. well fought, Deku. please put down that pipe

Tomura actually lost a bunch of votes which is a genuine surprise to me. I know the villain standom isn’t as dominant in Japan as it is in Western fandom, but still. you can go ahead and punch Shindou too I guess

Tokoyami lowkey doubled his vote count over the past year while hiding down there at #18. he is slowly becoming more powerful. biding his time

anyway so I think that’s it! I mean not really, but I’m getting kind of tired lol. so just, you know, insert the usual gripes at Overhaul’s ranking here, although we can be happy about Magne making her way onto the list (r.i.p.), and Mineta and AFO taking a very satisfying slide down (all the way out, in AFO’s case; good riddance you bum). Hadou also got a huge boost which is awesome. Mustard’s persistent ownership of the #36 spot will forever remain a mystery to me, but oh well

What kind of sensations belong with sex? (I’m curious because I’ve *always* had the idea that pain is just a part of sex, regardless of virginity, and apparently that is not the case??) FYI: answering as a straight, married cis-female. Sometimes comfort and closeness that doesn’t necessarily come with a lot of that physical lust or climax, but very emotionally fulfilling. Sometimes the exact opposite like “I have been thinking about banging you all day and we have a half hour before we have to pick up the kid so get in here.” Hahaha, sometimes, it’s even a little obligatory, like “yeah, we’re both tired and not really feeling it but this is an important part of our relationship to maintain, so we’re gonna work up to it.” I guess that’s sort of more emotional sensations? Physical pleasure is probably a primary motivator, but I think my husband and my relationship is also strongly influenced by the emotional connection, too. Neither of us are into pain (lube is your friend no matter what your method), tickles are fun (humor is also important - if it’s funny, you’re doin’ it right), whatever physical actions that drive anticipation. TOUCH, pure and simple. I have no idea if I’ve even answered the question at this stage. However, having a daughter didn't seem any less stressful when thinking about protecting a little girl. Jeffrey couldn't imagine what it would be like to keep a daughter safe in a world full of men. "Both sound stressful as fuck." Jeffrey replied after contemplating it. "Either way I'm responsible for how another person turns out in the world." "Son would be pretty cool though. "I can't drink coffee right now." "What? Why-" Megan started before her eyes became huge. "Holy shit!" "Don't scream it." Aria muttered, leaning forward to speak quieter. "Holy shit." Megan mocked whispered. "Stop freaking out. This is why I didn't want to tell you in a public place, we can't let it get out just yet." "Why?" "Well, for one. It's private. I like my privacy. The Magical Journey for Days in Japan

Another 10-day journey in some part of Japan.

Several months passes by, I come back woth another story of my trip during in Japan last year. Since another giveaway from BWAMTrip was held several weeks ago entitled It was All Yellow Throughout My Japan Trip, I decided to repost my whole story in this blog. Hope you find the story interesting and helpful!

Hi, Disfira is back again for #bwamtripgiveaway! This time, I would like to let the readers know about yellow things snapped in my camera during 10-day Japan trip on 2019 with BWAM trip. Being one of two winner from the previous giveaway, I decided to join BWAM Trip again for Japan 2019. Marcelina and Nadia was still being the same travelmate for this journey. To breakdown why BWAM Trip was chosen as my travel buddy, here we are: 1. Why would ignore the amazing prizes for a free trip?! No one, so did I! 2. We got free Japan single-visa as well 3. The staff was so helpful to book any essential things for the trip. Besides round-way plane tickets and multi-city hostels, JR Pass, Tokyo Pass, Kansai Thru Pass, Universal Studio Osaka and Ghibli Museum were well-secured

The essentials things were prepared one by one since the first-half of 2018. It didn’t mean everything went smooth. Due to miscommunication, Nadia needed to go and forth to Consulate-General of Japan in Surabaya to complete the administrative documents of ours. We got news that our visa was approved D-5 of our departure date. I couldn’t deny that we couldn’t sleep tight for weeks and preparing for the worst scenario.

The roller coaster just started. D-2 before the departure, we were informed that the tour leader, Kak Cindy, was not be able to accompany us during the trip. The trip seemed special only for the three of us, and we needed to manage things by ourselves. Things must go on, godspeed. The journey of the all-yellow journey officially began. Prepare yourself to see this color until the end of last paragraph!

DAY 1

May 1, 2019

We three took off at around 6 AM from Soekarno-Hatta Airport. I know it’s TMI, bit FYI the meal was so good! After 8-hour flight, we safely landed in Narita International Airport at 2 PM local time. First thing first, we reedemed JR Pass and Tokyo Pass.

The line was quite long since Golden Week started. After hours, we succeeded to get the JR Pass and straight went to the guesthouse in Asakusa. Dinner and raining, perfect wheater to rest for the next journey.

DAY 2

May 2, 2019

Heading out from guesthouse at 7:30 AM, withdrawing cash and buying simple breakfast in konbini was a must. A bit distracted, we were succeed arrived in Tokyo Station to secure seats in non-reserved car.

Two and a half hours passed, Shin-Osaka Station greeted us warmly. Going to guesthouse in Osaka was such a breakdown. Hop in and out in Osaka Loop Line train, thank to the kind staff who explained to us the right route in English and simple body language.

As dusk went by, we spent the rest of the day roaming around the guesthouse. Looking for takoyaki and Ashahis were quite challenging. It was unexpectedly hard to find streetfood for snakcs there. In the mean time, we were curious and tried several gacha spots.

DAY 3

May 3, 2019

Going to Kyoto was on our itinerary. Riding train and walking to Nishiki Market, some thrift shops catched our attention. It was such a home for thrift buddies like us! Trying Purikura or the photo booth and munching the seafood in the market were not left behind.

Heading to Gion on Golden Week was not recommended. People were roamed in every corner and the traffic was making us speechless. What made us energized was seeing a maiko walking in front of us. Respekt! We headed back to Osaka happily than ever!

DAY 4

May 4, 2019

On the fifth day, we went to Osaka Castle before going to explore culinary in Osaka. The transition wheather from summer to autumn was nice. The sky was blue and the sun shined brighther than the day before.

Walking following the road, we tried eating shabu-shabu, shopping, buying snacks in konbini and eat them in the edge of a bridge in Dotonbori. Going to Glico Man and taking nice photos were such an impossible mission. The journey ended as we arrived back to the kawaii yellow guesthouse!

DAY 5

May 5, 2019

It was just 30 minutes away to Nara from guesthouse in Osaka. Since morning, we rode local train and walked Nara Station to Nara Park. Giving deers foods and smelling its poop were such an interesting combo. You should try to walk though Nara Castle to see deers in greener grasses!

We even made time to walked in the neighborhood to find railroad crossing but failed. Snacking and talking seeemed different yet enjoyable. Another goodbye to left Nara and back to Osaka again.

DAY 6

May 6, 2019

Universal Studio Osaka was the only places we wanted to spend our time all day long. Kansai Thru Pass helped us a lot for 3-day trip in Kansai Perfecture. At 9 sharp, three of us living in the world where we completely forgot the stress and burdens!

Everything went incredibly super good! We tried most of the rides untill sun went down. Minion puffs, turkey leg, butter beer, and any other snacks were must-try and worth-it. Believe me, I was and still not lying.

Riding merry-go-round after seeing night show in Hogwarts Castle became one of the most sentimental moment for me. As seeing everyone in this magical theme park, I promised to come back to USJ later with my loved ones! It was hard to say goodbye before entering to the train to get back home, indeed.

DAY 7

May 7, 2019

We spent the day going back to Tokyo by Shinkanshen. Thank God we were managed to book seats in reserved cars this time. The wind blowed stronger, even when we arrived in Tokyo. 

Sparing some time to chill in a cafe in Akihabara was a nice choice. You gotta see more and people endlessly walking in the heart of Japan. Interesting and simple itinerary before checking in to guesthouse in Asakusa again.

DAY 8

May 8, 2019

Ghibli Museum was being the next destination. The limited tickets were ready to be reedemed as well! Riding local train, we arrived at Mitaka Station and walked just around 15 minutes. Look at the cute yellow catbus! The neighborhood was way much calmer and less crowded than in other district in Tokyo. 

It was such an amazing experience to enter the well-managed museum. For those who adore Ghibli Studio’s movies, this place is a yes! You can buy the kawaii official merchandise in reasonable price!

After fangirling in Ghibli Museum, we went to Daimaru Tokyo for Tokyo Banana! Right after that, we went to guesthouse and started shopping! Skincare products, cute things, and snacks were what we target! That was the remaining day for us to buy things and put it all in the baggage.

May 9, 2019

We did explore downtown to find shoes! We ended up spending time in Village Vanguard to find unique things to buy. Going to 100-yen stores also became our things since the day we start the journey in Japan. Of course we spend hours to buy this, that, these, and those! Such a busy day!

DAY 10

May 10, 2019

The 10-day journey in Japan was about to end. After finding ways for transportation to Narita Airport from the guesthouse, we checked out at 4 AM sharp and waited for the first bus to Ueno Station. 

Towing our big baggage in and out the bus early morning was tiring, honestly. In Ueno Station, we still need to find Keisei-Ueno Station to reserve Skyliner for Narita Station. Fortunately, we only needed 1 hour and half to arrive in time to check in. Surprisingly, having breakfast in the airport didn’t make my wallet cry. The price for pasta was only around ¥500. Kinda cheap wasn’t it?

Saying goodbye to Japan on 9 AM, the Japan trip ended nicely! The three of us ready to start daily routine as we arrived back in Jakarta at 4 PM WIB. 

How was the yellow thingy spread all over my writing? Satisfying enough? We’ll be back very soon to Seoul or Osaka again, I guess? Hehehe.

BnHA Chapter 280: I Am Red Riot

Previously on BnHA: The pro heroes over at Gunga Mountain struggled against Gigantomachia and the League until finally Midnight was all, “fuck it, let’s just put the kids in charge.” Momo immediately got to work organizing a sophisticated counteroffensive involving an exploding swamp, a bunch of sedative cans, and a massive coordinated team attack. I gotta tell you guys, it’s really something to watch a large-scale group attack in which all of the team members are actually competent. I don’t know what Japan put in the water when all these sixteen-year-olds were growing up, but that shit has paid off big time, and basically the only reason Machia hasn’t gone down yet is because he cheated and was all “sneeze” and the kids all got blown away because they are little and because he is really, really big. Anyway so then Dabi set the forest on fire because he loves doing that, and the chapter ended with Mina using her Acid Man attack to make herself FUCKIN’ FIREPROOF so she could charge through the woods ready to save the day and stuff!

Today on BnHA: Mina launches herself straight at Machia like the beautiful corrosive wild child she is, but then everything goes to shit when she recognizes him from that one time she almost got murdered while giving a strange man directions. Just when it’s looking like she might get killed for real this time, KIRISHIMA SHOWS UP TO SAVE THE DAY AND SHOVES HER TO SAFETY AND IS ALL “BOTTOMS UP” AND HEAVES A LITERAL CAN OF WHOOPASS RIGHT IN MACHIA’S MOUTH. At this point the grown-ups are all “oh wow look at that, time for us to take over for you kids now, don’t worry we’ve got it all under control” because Oh Those Wacky Pros and all that, but at least Majestic finally deigns to show his face so that’s a plus! The chapter ends with us cutting back to the Jakku battle, where Tomura is curled up in a little ball all “curse you heroes, how dare you [checks notes] save people all the time”, which is a real take and a half. Anyway so things are looking up, which can only mean everyone is about to die. That’s how it works, right. Shit.
