Just randomly remembered that I too am from a town where a lot of people got sick and died because they worked with a dangerous substance but had no knowledge of its dangers and so no safety measures but the rich people that were profiting off of their labor did know about it and didn't tell the workers because they didn't want to stop making money until it finally came to light when people started dropping dead or getting really sick and all of them worked in the factories and now there's a museum in honor of the victims and work safety seminars to elementary school children. And now I'm psychoanalysing why Law is my favorite character

Two ingame weeks into GoA, I had my first competition, I submitted my level 3 cabbage, and then the other villagers bring fucking Sovereign Spinachs and Golden Cabbages. Two weeks into the game. I placed tenth because everyone brought their super veggies. What the fuck do they even need an earth dancer for if they can grow shit like this already.

had a dream mcr released an album and it was two and a half hours of industrial ambience. two tracks had vocals and it was mostly just weird gurgling noises. the longest track was 45 mins, and it started with 20 mins of this low droning noise like a lawnmower in the distance, followed by what sounded like somebody banging a crowbar on some sheet metal. and we fucking loved it

research tips for electric train whump:

-INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE SOURCES ARE YOUR FRIEND! There’s not much stuff specifically about trains but basic concepts (maintenance and repair of AC or DC motors, transformers, rectifiers, other heavy electrical equipment) largely carry over from sources about elevators or substations. There’s a lot of good videos on youtube about these topics, look into stuff aimed at apprentice electricians or industrial maintenance, it will generally be more visual/metaphor and less math-heavy if you struggle with that.

-many “breakdowns” are actually due to power infrastructure issues- third rail and catenary wires have different problems and these further vary based on how old they are. Fixed-tension catenaries on the former Pennsylvania Railroad are a notorious issue. The more modern the line, the less weird stuff you’ll have, but much of the US, parts of the UK, and a number of spots in mainland Europe have more unusual and antiquated electrification systems. And this is also an issue with model trains between brands and eras!

-On a related note, pantograph designs have varied by time and place and have different advantages/disadvantages/issues. You even have times when they have a uniquely bad time with old catenaries, like old Comet EMUs specifically getting snarled in those constant-tension PRR catenaries

-Never underestimate how “dumb” and un-computery a lot of electric trains actually are, especially circa the 80s. “Toaster” isn’t even an inaccurate insult for older DC-motor trains, they literally brake using huge resistors that put out a ton of heat… like a giant toaster. And the really old, simple stuff tended to last a stupidly long time in service so you can 1000% wave off a 20s-era engine or EMU in the 80s.

-If you want some really easy ones that have actually happened before: connecting to too strong of a power source and getting FRIED, and having wires ripped out willy-nilly by techs not familiar with electric trains that don’t know what they’re doing. Weaponized incompetence with anything electrical checks out with how even a lot of train people know very little about it and don’t care.

Mini ramble incoming bc I think this is fun to talk about ‼️

I’ve just always liked the idea of the AH minecraft-gtaverse being the same. So ofc the Achievement City (and before that) days are the oldest recorded history; the days where a simple king was the highest known form of power. I think by the time Sky Factory rolls around, the influence of the Towers have granted each king longer lives and minor magic abilities (aka creative mode), and they’ve advanced as a society enough to pursue things like space travel, Galacticraft, etc. Immortality was a thing, though they kinda didn’t realize it? When someone would die, it never felt worse than a severe injury, never felt like death. They’d wake up with no memory of what happened, just assumed they’d gotten hurt bad during a challenge and were out for a day or so, that kinda thing. But where do you go after literally touching the stars? They wanted more. They already felt like gods, but what if they could have more? Enter Sky Factory. They would play God for REAL this time. They’d even succeed, but of course their hubris would catch up to them, leading to the nuking. In my mind, this was like a world reset. A second big bang of sorts. They’d be reborn into their usual bodies, but their punishment now being that they not only remember every mistake they made as deities but now remember and feel every single death much harder. Immortal souls stuck in very mortal bodies. “Respawns” would take longer depending on the severity of the death now. Hundreds of years pass, their souls reincarnate again and again, but as time would pass they’d remember less of their more primitive past lives- Now we end up in modern day with the FAHC. A group of immortal souls who found each other in yet another life, (You know how in jojo’s bizarre adventure, stand users attract stand users? It’s like that!) and now wanna find out the reasoning behind their immortality and maybe take over the criminal underworld while they’re at it 👍

one of my favourite things is characters who yearn for humanity, whether it be a non-human character wishing to be human/mortal or a character who feels inherently detached from humanity but desperately wants that kind of connection

Whether you planned it or not, how do you think Kazemon Beetlemon move would be like combined?

Idk if I plan it. I’m pretty fond of Blitzmon and Blizzardmon’s combined move giving our Thor an axe. Okay, I wish Blitzmon himself had a hammer, in an evolution would be fine too (thinking ~~~~), but, you know, it’s still the coolest move out of them all because it makes sense on any level I can take in consideration.

Whatever, if Blitzmon and Fairymon combined their moves, I would love a mix between Blitzmon and Jetsilphymon because Jet is a semicyborg and represents a modern way to exploit wind’s power. Since the Wind Factory is always in my mind, will never leave it, I would like to see electric energy generated from these two’s marriage collaboration: Blitzmon’s lightnings giving even more speed to Jet, producing electric energy from the super fast spins of her pinwheel. I’d……..Love it AHHAHAHH.

I want Jet to show my brain how cool she is in her potential. A month ago, I also joked about her piloting either Bolgmon or Rhino and turning into some F1 race queen (how funny I am, please, kill me), but in the skies, because she does give me those vibes. Jet’s design is very sportive, her trousers have got somewhat reminding me of a tracksuit’s pants.

Edit: ages ago I sketched this shitty Jet with the idea of turning her into a full cyborg, a technological being who trades Fairymon’s glass visor with a technologically advanced one working as some plane radar to orientate her through her speedy dashes. Blitzmon loves her so much. Edit 2: better resolution, she sucks, but I might use this concept in the future.
