Felix is my favorite character but he absolutely has some a middle school boy brand of misogyny going for him. He was worried about Ingrid’s safety and chose to weaponize that concern with misogyny. He under estimated Leonie because of her gender. He was overly harsh with Dorothea because he assumed she wanted to profit off marriage to him. He’s not really a violent or obsessive misogynist as much as he is just kind of an immature person who will spew bigotry if he’s already annoyed at someone. Sometimes that frustration is justified, sometimes it isn’t, but that doesn’t mean him responding in turn with bigotry was the right call. It’s okay to like a flawed character.

And actually, Usagi's age IN GENERAL is not confirmed. Miyamoto Usagi have no canon age, not even in the comics-

You assume he is and adult but mere subtext- and a lot of people who read the comics have our own hc with his age, but as a canon answer theres none-

I bring this topic to the table since I found someone on tiktok -again- saying that Miyamoto Usagi in TMNT 2003 was an adult and that's why they hated Leosagi- and putting this google answer as a prove to their point-

“Abuser” he said some mean things. He can be an asshole, absolutely. That does not make him an abuser, and honestly? All calling him one does is muddy the waters of what the word actually means, and makes things harder for people who actually suffer abuse. Someone being mean is not abuse, it’s someone being mean. Abuse is repeated acts of causing substantial harm to another person by exerting influence, intimidation, and inflicting fear and terror through extreme cruelty and in some cases violence.

Not everyone is going to like Felix. No one has to. But calling him an abuser is inaccurate and furthermore, irresponsible.

I see a lot of discussion about how Tommy is everything that Buddie shippers want Eddie to be, and yes he does have a lot of parallels.

But most of what I see bts citing as the reasons for the tommy hate, doesn't feel like the real reasons to me? At least from my outside perspective that I've tried to piece together.

The first reason I don't see mentioned much is that a lot of people don't like Lou and so by proxy... yea. I don't k now tons on this topic tho so moving onto the other point I don't see discussed.

Tommy feels like when a kid wants a puppy so their parents get them a plushie. Yes, they have a lot of similarities, but they are not the same.

This fandom has spent what? 5 years? shipping buddie. Wanting buddie. And then along comes the show giving a partial answer.

From what I've found, initially things were fine. Lou was signed on for a handful of episodes as a guest star, Tommy was okay enough as a love interest and he even gave us canon bi buck! amazing!

But then somewhere in there the fandom got some bad apples? And instead of isolating the bad it was generalized. These shippers are all bad because xyz. I'm blocking everything to do with zyx.

So now we're just stuck with a divide while both sides hate each other and they're also simmering in their hate and excited to laugh at the "loser". And because of the divide and the immaturity on both sides the divide just grows. Because there's nowhere for the middle ground. Anyone not heatedly for one or the other is stuck walking on eggshells and in danger of being blocked or harrassed.

At this point no matter what ship is canon I'm going to hate my dashboard. I've been trying to clean up who I follow anytime I see anti behavior but it continues to creep in and it's EXHAUSTING. I just want to enjoy this stupid wee woo show!!

my project actually has Secret Worldbuilding which is entirely about the new hyper specific internet discourse that shows up. I’ll give you one bit, there’s a lot of arguing about if being a furry is okay when some people have skills that actually make them appear as anthropomorphic animals.
