Jake And Amy’s Laugh-filled Firstmass

A tickle fic for my squealing Santa....@aprilssecretblog !!

The prompt was anything Brooklyn 99, so I cooked up some JakexAmy for you. Hope you like it, and have a happy holiday season!

Jake Peralta woke up on December the 25th at 10:am, greeted immediately by a spam of texts from his best buddy Boyle.

“Merry Firstmas!”

“Merry Firstmas!”

“Merry Firstmass!” and so on.

Though it was rather cruel, kicking Charles off of the 99 group chat was probably one the best things Peralta had ever done. (And the smartest, Amy had added. Jokingly he hoped.)

He turned around in his sofa to see his beautiful girl. Well, she wasn’t his, as in, his his. But she was his lover, and she was a girl. Jake leaned down to kiss Amy’s forehead, “Merry Firstmass babe”.

Amy didn’t respond, not even a grumble. She was clearly still in dreamland, her ponytail whipping over her pillow like a swan resting on a lake. Peralta decided that he would make his girlfriend a surprise Firstmass breakfast.

He slipped on his slippers, brushed his teeth and entered the kitchen. What would he make Amy? Pancakes? Too cliche. Toast? Too average. French toast? Eww, that has eggs in it, and you definitely don’t wanna know where those come from. Jake couldn’t decide, and while he was deciding, he felt a hand nudge his shoulder.

“AH GHOST!”, Peralta screeched, jumping in the air. He turned around swiftly and was both relieved, embarrassed and maybe even a little disappointed that it was just Amy. He could tell that his girlfriend was highly amused, so he lay his elbow on the counter with confidence.

“Good morning agent Santiago”, he said in a deep, Holt-like voice, “I was just in the process of making you a morning meal, plain toast with nothing on it. The perfect flavourlessness for a jolly Christmas morning”.

Amy smirked and wrapped an arm around Peralta’s shoulder, “Aww, you were making breakfast for me, that’s so sweet”.

Jake chuckled and gently soluted, “It’s cause I love you”.

“Ugh, stop being so cheesy”, Amy groaned, before kissing Jake’s lips.

“Cheesy?”, Jake said when they departed, going back to his Holt voice, “Why that’s not even a real world. I expected much better of you Santiago”.

Amy chuckled, “Oh stop it with the act. I caught you doing something embarrassing on Christmas morning, so what?” 

“Don’t end a sentence with So What”, Jake said, straightening his back, “And I’ll have you know, I am not embarrassed”.

Amy raised an eyebrow, “Oh really?”

“Not in the slightest. And I didn’t think you were a ghost either, nor was I disappointed that you weren’t”

Amy playfully slapped him, “Hey!”

“What?”, Jake said, returning to his real voice for a moment, “Iv’e just always wanted to see a ghost. Anyways”, he returned to his deep voice, “My levels of embarrassment are neither hither not nither”. 

“Oh come on Jake, that’s not a real expression”.

“Is it not?”

“No”.

“Forgive me Madame, care for a jolly Christmas morning binging of Die Hard?”

Amy rolled her eyes, “I’ll agree to watch one movie of Die Hard with you if you drop the voice”.

Jake shook his head, “What voice Madame”.

Amy rolled her eyes again and reached out to poke Jake’s sides. He squealed, causing Amy to start laughing.

“Oh Peralta, you wouldn’t be able to keep up that voice if your life depended on it!”

Jake regained his composure and straightened himself out, “I certainly would not”. 

“Would too!”

“I certainly would not.”

“Would too!”

“I certainly wo-hey-hey-hehe!”. Amy had interrupted her boyfriend with fingers lightly squeezing at his sides. 

“Agehent Santi-hiago! Thihis is nohot the appropriate proceduhure!”

Amy just smiled, loving her goofy boyfriend more than anything, “I’m sorry Captain Peralta, but your just too cute for me to resist!”

“I am not cute!”, Jake argued, before Amy reached under his arms, making his voice go up by ten pitches.

“I ahahaham a mahahahan ahahahnd you wihihil treat me ahahs such!”

Amy giggled, “Title of your sex tape!”

“Hey!”, he whined through his laughter, not able to escape Amy’s grip as she went on to tickling his very sensitive tummy; “Thahahats my lihinine!”

Amy stuck her tongue out, “Well too bad”.

She than started spidering her fingers up, down and around his belly and navel.

“Ahahaha! Okahahay Stohohohop!”

Amy did as she was asked, a huge mischevous grin still on her face.

Jake panted, releived, (and maybe even a little dissapointed), that his tickle torture was over.

“Merry Firsrtmass to you too”, Jake said, smiling dorkily up at the most gorgeous woman that he’d ever laid eyes upon. 

“Firsmass?”

Jake sighed, “It’s a Boyle-ism. It’s our first Christmas as a couple, Firstmass”.

“Hmm”, Amy said, “Why do I actually like that Boyle-ism?”

The two lovebirds walked to the couch in front of the TV, and snuggled together while Jake held the remote.

“Watching Die Hard to celebrate Christmas is the most Jake thing that has ever existed”, Amy remarked, before kissing him again gently.

“Oh what, it’s a Peralta Christmas tradition!”, Jake defended. Than, he muttered something under his breath, barely audible.

“Maybe we could make tickle fights ours”.

Amy hadn’t heard it all, but had heard “tickle” and “ours”. She smirked and poked Jake’s side, “What was that?”

He squeeked, “Nothing”.

Amy put on the biggest smile, before resuming her ruthless tickle attack on Jake.

The way Jake squirmed and laughed crazily, despite never asking her to stop, was one of the greatest Christmas gift she’d ever recieved.

But of course, a tickle fight had to be two-sided, and Jake soon discovered that detective Santiago was rather ticklish herself.

Dozens of Bishops from across Australia will gather to celebrate Mass on 6 May at St Patrick’s, Church Hill to mark the 200th anniversary of the preservation of the Blessed Sacrament in the home of Lay Carmelite, James Dempsey. Father Jeremiah O’Flynn arrived in Sydney as unofficial chaplain to the Catholic community at the end of 1817. When after six months no official papers for him had arrived, he was deported. Whether by accident or design, he left a consecrated host behind in a pyx in either the home of William Davis or James Dempsey (or possibly both), according to The Catholic Weekly. In a colonial Church with no priest or Mass, and where Catholics were punished for refusing to participate in Protestant services, the reserved Sacrament became the focus of Catholic life. The laity kept daily vigil before the Blessed Sacrament during the many months until the first official Catholic chaplains arrived. The site of both Davis and Dempsey’s historical residences are located in the parish of St Patrick’s, and the Church was built to commemorate the preservation of the Eucharist within the parish. The anniversary recognises both 200 years of the Eucharist being preserved in Australia, and celebrates the faith of those Catholics, including Lay Carmelites, James Dempsey and John Butler, who kept vigil with the Eucharist until an official chaplain arrived. All are welcome to this very special Mass, marking 200 years of Eucharistic devotion in Australia.
