Since I was a little boy with a toy gun
Never really wanted to be number one

SxF playlist pt. 1
So I've been collecting songs for my spy x family playlist for a month now. And since today we don't have new chapter I will rant about some of this songs here
1. Foo Fighters - Waiting on a war
This song right here describes all spy x family setting and Twilights story. Because peace between Ostania and Westalis is shaky and nobody can actually guarantee that it will last. And while civilians may live more or less peacefully, Twilight is always waiting on the war. But he knows that there's something more than that in life and with Forgers he has chance to have it
2. Hozier - Like real people do
I just needed Hozier song, because TwiYor have very Hozier romance. "I will not ask you where you came from" - is pretty much current state of Twilight's relationships with Yor and Anya. He knows they are odd but he will not ask them in fear of finding out. And both Twilight and Yor feel more like tools than actual people, but since they started Forger family they learn more about what "real people do"
3. Tember Blanche & Moisei - Ти лиш людина
This one's in my mother tongue (Ukrainian). For me it perfectly captures the feeling of the 86 chapter.
Chorus translation:
Show me your weakness, I don't ask you anything more.
If you are only human, then how can you live without fear?
Let's just say I can't wait fo Wheeler arc to be animated, because I have a vision for a really cool amv
4. Rainbow Kitten Surprise - Cold love
This one hard to describe. It has post reveal and opening up to each other vibes. It also has first joined mission gone wrong vibes. But most of all it has we are the same and we understand each other vibes. (Maybe I'll write songfic based on this. When I learn how to write hehe)
5. Rina Sawayama - Chosen family
Just a sweet song about opening up and found/chosen family. Very Forgers)
PS: I really need good songs for Anya and Yor. Especially Yor, since most of her playlists have femme fatale vibes, that don't suite her character.
If you have any recommendations PLEASE leave them in comments

Stevie Nicks talks to Zane Lowe about her Gorillaz collab:
Well, I have to tell you, it was really great. Because when I got the song... Because Greg Kurstin sent it to me. Evidently Elton John said to him... Well, I think he might have asked Elton to do something. And Elton said, "Well, I can't really sing with you. You don't write your words in the right place.""It's really, I think, choppy. And you sing... Well, I just don't know how you even sing. I don't think I can do it." Anyway, and I was laughing so hard. Because I had just done a song with Elton, and Elton, I adore. But I had to learn how to sing with Elton. I really had to practice for weeks to be able to sing this song called Stolen Car. And I did it, and I was right there with Elton, but it was hard. So anyway, so Greg tells me this. And I go, "Send me the song." He sends me the song, and I play it for everybody in my dorm house. I call Greg back, and I go, "Oh, I think this is now our new favorite song," and I haven't even sung on it yet. But yes, I would love to do this, and I'm going to... Listen, I'm going to prove him wrong. I'm going to sing exactly perfect with him.So I learned that song as if I had written that song and as if I was a Englishman, with that accent. And I love it so much. But this is the only thing I asked for. I said, "I'm not asking for anything except the 50 bucks I'd probably charge you. If you make a video of this..." Because that's how I know about the Gorillaz, is because of all their crazy cartoon videos. I'm going, "I want to be in the oil video." I want to be a Gorilla, and I want to have big, false eyelashes, and I want to have blond hair, right? So, that's what I said. I said, "This is my one demand that I will make." And so, they're doing it as we speak. And the whole song is... I think that song is somewhere between love and war. Because when it's... (singing) And then there's... (singing) My favorite part. But anyway, whatever it is, I can't wait till it comes out because I'm so proud of it. Now, I was an honorary Heartbreaker. I was an honorary Foo Fighter. And now, I'm an honorary Gorilla. I'm so happy.

Ask game: I have been taggéd and must answer summons!
favourite color: various shades of green with not-incidental amounts of blue. like teal and sage and mint and such.
last song i listened to: hmmmm I was listening to my "why can't music be as good as it was in my early 20's" playlist yesterday and I think it was something by the Foo Fighters. I was at a party last night with music on but I didn't really pay attention to it and recognized only like 2 songs anyway. the kids these days, I tell you.
last film i watched: I am mostly watching tv shows recently and few movies. Last movie I watched for fun, I think was the Guy Ritchie "King Arthur" movie, because I was watching a couple of things in my Netflix queue before cancelling my Netflix subscription. I also watched "Zone of Interest" for academic reasons last week, which. huh. what do you even say about that film.
currently reading: I have been stuck at the halfway point in Notorious Sorceror for ages, even though I like it so far. It's giving me V.E. Schwab with a dash of Liveship Traders. I think I'm reading it so slowly because it actually requires my attention span and I'm in the middle of a school semester and don't have one. In the meantime, I've started and finished This Is How You Lose the Time War (oh my god?????) and started Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
currently craving: Oddly nothing. Will probably eat the last of the leftover potato salad soon though.
currently watching: I am in season 7 of Supernatural, season 7 of X-Files, season 7 of 9-1-1, and approximately 5 episodes behind on the current campaign of Critical Role. I neeeeeed to catch up on CritRole real bad because I already know what's going on in recent episodes and I need! To see! My boi! (I should probably also get farther in Supernatural since I am now apparently writing fanfic for it.)
coffee or tea: Coffee. Black, strong, scalding hot, thanks. Oh,wait, I just made some. Yum.
tagging: hmmmm it sure would be nice to get to know a few of my followers better and I am a big ol' fan of getting to talk to people about what they're reading/watching! no pressure whatsoever, but Imma tag @stars-that-are-born-and-then-die @kaze-no-tsubasa @assistant-blogkeeper @chocolate-smash and anybody else who feels like it!

Out on my own, kicked out of the show
I'll take what's mine and I'll go
Can You Get To That ~ Funkadelic
I recollect with a-mixed emotions all the good times we used to have
But you were making preparations for the coming separation and you blew everything we had
When you base your love on credit and your loving days are done
Checks you signed with a-love and kisses, later come back signed, "Insufficient funds"
Shotgun ~ Pomplamoose, dodie
If you need me, you know where I'll be
I'll be riding shotgun
Underneath the hot sun
Feeling like a someone
Bread and Roses ~ Dawn Landes, Alana Amram, Abigail Chapin
As we go marching, marching, unnumbered women dead
Go crying through our singing their ancient cry for bread
Small art and love and beauty their trudging spirits knew
Yes, it is bread we fight for, but we fight for roses too
Nina Cried Power ~ Hozier, Mavis Staples
It's not the song, it is the singing
It's the hearing of a human spirit ringing
It is the bringing of the line
It is the bearing of the rhyme
It's not the waking, it's the rising

Spider Playlist Explanation
I saw that some people checked out my Spider Socorro playlist! I really like music and every time I make a new book or fic, I make a playlist for either the main character or the book in general. So, here are some lyrics that kind of explain the songs I chose, if anyone's interested. :)
I Know The End - Phoebe Bridgers
"Close my eyes, fantasize, three clicks and I'm home"
"I'll find a new place to be from . . . to float around and ghost my friends . . . I turned around, there was nothing there. Yeah, I guess the end is here."
Handgun - Jake Minch
"Who gives a kid a handgun? Who gives a kid to a mom who doesn't want one?"
"Who never taught him enough is enough is enough?"
"Learned the worst part of growing up is learning how young you are."
Heavenly Side - ILLENIUM (ft. Matt Maeson)
"I've got a taste for failure, I find it in everything."
"I know that I'm the problem, I know that I'm to blame. But, I hear the heart inside you and it's calling out my name."
"Don't you let go, I've found my soul."
Blue Healer - Birdtalker
"Enter sadness, with you rainboots in blue. Since I can remember, I've been running from you."
"And now I stand tall, used to think my sorrow was a brick wall. Made me want to curl up in a tight ball, self-pity dealer. But, there's a gate here, you can only find it if you wait here, and now I'm walking through it with my gaze clear, me and the blue healer."
Please Don't Go - Wyatt Flores
"You're screaming at me, you can't take it anymore. I try and hold you, you just push me away. This ain't nothing new, cause we just did this yesterday."
Lonely As You - Matt Maseon
"I never really noticed where I could go. And I can't take anymore, so I walk out the door to my doom. And I might end up alone, but I won't be as lonely as you."
Stick Season - Noah Kahan
"I am stuck between my anger and the blame that I can't face."
"Saw you mom, she forgot that I existed."
"And I'll dream each night of some version of you that I might not have, but I did not lose. Now you're tire tracks and one pair of shoes. And I'm split in half, but that'll have to do."
Waiting On a War - Foo Fighters
"Never really wanted to be number one. Just wanted to love everyone. Is there more to this than that? More to this, more to this than just waiting on a war? Every day waiting for the sky to fall."
"Just a boy with nowhere left to go."

So, I have had this headcanon for awhile that Henry sometime in his later teens started listening to harder rock music when things were getting too much. He probably started with some very shouty metal and harder rock that he had heard somewhere since it would be far from something the crown would approve of and well a need for something that could be just for him. Like any of us who may have looked for rock music to scream our feelings out realized there were plenty of great rock songs that can help when things might be spiraling out of control. Of course, seeing how the piano has also helped him I like to imagine that he learned to play some of the songs on the piano so he could have his self-help rock right there under everyone's nose without anyone the wiser.
I finally found the time to put a playlist together of some of the songs I think he might have listened to synced up with events in his life that we learned about in the book, including the bonus chapter. Starting with 2015 and the death of his father and ending with well now, 2023, which based on Henry's chapter they came back from a trip at the end of summer to England for some royal duties, and he knows "He doesn't ever want to go back." So, abdication in the works currently, or at least a thought he will be moving on.
