as a fellow fashion & sewing person, i totally understand. one time, i made a wrong stitch on a pair of shorts and it was so frustrating and discouraging that i walked away for, like, a whole week. but i just wanted to offer you some words of support and a reminder: you still made a whole dress! even if it's in pieces now. wrong size be damned. you made a whole dress! with your own hands! you picked out the right fabric, you cut it into pieces, you figured out how to put them together, and you made a piece of clothing. and maybe it feels like a simple thing to mess up, but walking was a simple thing to mess up when we were little and we did that too. sometimes we still do. it doesn't mean you're a failure. you're figuring it out! you're making it work! it's gonna come together and you're gonna just keep getting better and better, i swear. you got this! 🖤 -canongf

i feel a bit better after getting some sleep, and while i still feel frustrated with myself a bit i know that at least i have plenty of time to redo it and get it the way i want.

i'm just trying to look at it more positively, that even if i did mess it up at least i know what went wrong and i can fix it. and that there were a few details i wanted to adjust that now i can since i have to reconstruct it. AND, it was only the top! the skirt and sleeves were great and fit nicely.
