Extrato do longa metragem de Curt Siodmak filmado parcialmente em Belém, Manaus e Rio de Janeiro. Devido ao mesmo período de filmagens de Love Slaves of the Amazon, Siodmak pode ter aproveitado o material bruto para usar nas duas películas.

Em entrevista para o livro de Tom Weaver, Interviews With B Science Fiction And Horror Movie Makers (2000), a atriz Berverly Garland conta sua passagem por Belém:

“TW: Onde vocês ficaram durante a produção de Curuçu?

BG: Em um hotel em Belém, que é um porto no [rio] Amazonas. Havia insetos em todo lugar! Quero dizer, não havia lugar que você pudesse andar sem ter insetos. E a temperatura era de uns 120 graus [48°C] - mais quente que o inferno. Você devia ver à noite: primeiro eu tirava os lençois e cobertores da cama, para os insetos sairem. Então para mantê-los longe, acendia velas ao redor da cama - eu parecia uma múmia estendida.

O banheiro tinha uma privada e uma pia, o resto era o espaço do chuveiro. O bocal do chuveiro era bem no meio do cômodo, quando você abria tudo ficava encharcado. Na verdade era um box de chuveiro com uma pia e uma privada. Todo o cômodo era o box do chuveiro com um ralo no meio do piso. Uma vez que você usasse o chuveiro, nem voltava lá - tudo estava encharcado! Às 4h30 da manhã, eu ia para esse patiozinho onde tinha um gancho [na parede] e pendurava meu espelho nele, então passava minha maquiagem com a luz do sol que chegava. Naturalmente, nós ficamos no [quarto] virado para o poente. Não era fácil se arrumar, mas eu conseguia!”

Sit & Storage Solution

Continuing with my sculpture design of this abstract representation of two humans having an interaction with each other, I added two benches next to each triangle where people can sit and enjoy the sculpture and the outdoor environment. This gives the triangles a more real human experience than a piece of art that can not be touched. These triangles can be used for company when you sit on on them. The glass material allows people to see through the sculpture to see their souls and see if they are full of water or empty or to see if they are dry, dirty or clean for example. These triangles change according the weather. The rain represents when humans change with other circumstances in an abstract representation of humans. They collect rain water and filter it so that it’s safe to consume. This is the final result of the triangles work, a pure source of the most important liquid on earth. Like many human interactions, having this  is a result of amazing science, art and social support for the future.

Materials and System The materials used are designed for outdoor, strong resistance glass and white rocks. Smooth concrete is very easy to mantain and they are mostly clean in any weather conditions due to the chemical composition. The material doesn’t attract dust or dirt and remains cold when the sun very warm so that people can sit down and feel refreshed without needing a cushion. The triangles also create some shadows to support this further.

Due to the durability of the materials and the rain collection function, I would suggest that this sit & store be in a very open, public outdoor space such as a beach or a park near shopping centres, pools or national monuments.
