After reading the article "Alexei Navalny: Russian opposition leader reappears in Arctic penal colony" I had to write this blog.

Floris Binarium (A Photographic Artist’s Perspective)

My imagination dances with delight in today's rapidly changing creative climate of visual art. Some will  argue that digital imaging it isn't "pure" or "traditional" photography. But what's less pure about a bunch of binary code strung together to create a visual representation of our perception of life than say music played on instruments made by the hand of man, a digitally synthesized symphonic performance, or the sound of the wind through the trees?

Each vibrate at unique frequencies and are capable of making an intimate personal connection. They each have the potential to resonate in the heart and mind of a human privileged to be exposed to them. Which is more or less worthy of consideration?

A camera, digital or film based, like a flute,computer, human voice or gentle rain falling on leaves, is simply a tool for interpretive free and associative expression. To me it's all music, color and warmth to my soul.

My encouragement to traditional materials, disciplines and techniques artists everywhere is to share and celebrate with those of us who aren't afraid to be visually creative, a little out there at times, aspirationally uninhibited, but, more than anything, delight in sharing our craft, our knowledge, ourselves, and being part of tribe who pride themselves on being artists.
