My mom and I rewatched ANH and I had a lot of thoughts but mostly rn I'm in my feels about Chewie roaring at the mouse droid that's actually G7 and Tk-421 not being at his post and how he wasn't supposed to be because Tarkin needed him at that moment-after Alderaan, after 20 years of work came to fruition, when he just wanted the one person he could let his walls down with- but instead he wasn't at his post cause Tarkin sent G7 too late to save him so he was at his post to be called up onto the ship and killed by Chewie and when G7 did find the body wearing his armor, it's too short but the scary tall wookie scares him and triggers his self-preservation sensors before he can run diagnostics.

And it isn't until they reach Yavin he finds out his master is dead, killed by that wookie.

And how when Vader declares today will be a day long remembered-Tarkin gives him an uncertain look. He won't remember this day for the end of Kenobi, or the end of the Rebellion, he'll remember it for the death of his lover, for the one he was planning to get out of the Death Star and settle someplace comfortable. Where life was more than walls to protect themselves and messages hidden in mouse droids and finding excuses to get his trooper into his room. It's actually ingenious that that look is shaky(Youtube comments are pretty much in agreement that it's a "no one cared about Kenobi but you, my friend" look) from 1977 and now it's like oh.

Oh. Maybe he wasn't just being overconfident. I know of MSE-6 and Men has him that way but what if he truly didn't care either way-if he went down with the Death Star or lived to go through the motions of their day of triumph only to finally get some time in his rooms to mourn.

Name: TK-421 Pronouns: he/him Era: Imperial Appears in: From a Certain Point of View

TK-421 was a stormtrooper serving on the Death Star in 0 BBY. He was secretly involved with Grand Moff Tarkin after the officer saw 421's holo-recording, calling him "beautiful" and sending him a message inviting him to Tarkin's quarters. 421 was even able to make Tarkin laugh during their private moments together, and Tarkin reassigned him to what was supposed to be a safe post. Unfortunately, 421 was killed by Han Solo and his armour was worn to disguise Luke Skywalker.

TK-421 was a stormtrooper on the Death Star in 0BBY. We learn about him in the short story “Of MSE-6 and Men” by Glen Weldon in From a Certain Point of View: A New Hope – but he first appeared in A New Hope.

As a worker in a maintenance unit, 421 often worked with droids, including mouse droid unit MSE-6-G735Y – G7 for short. After G7 ran into Grand Moff Tarkin – literally ran into him and knocked him over – the mouse droid malfunctioned and played a holo of 421 without his helmet on. Tarkin found the trooper very attractive, and with the help of G7, the two men began a clandestine relationship of sorts, spending time together in Tarkin’s quarters doing “human-being stuff” that G7 didn’t need to see. The two fell for each other quickly, and Tarkin planned on adding 421 to his personal security detail and moving into his penthouse on Coruscant. Tarkin immediately had 421 transferred to security detail on level 300, a relatively “cushy” job that was meant to keep him out of danger. 421’s first assignment was guarding a light freighter ship, which, unfortunately for him, turned out to be the Millennium Falcon. Along with TK-710, 421 was tricked into boarding the ship, where Han Solo shot him, Luke Skywalker stole his armour, and the group shoved his body into a crawl space. 

421 was a “beautiful” man with a “remarkable” body, according to Tarkin. He had an eye for interior design, and appreciated the Death Star’s flattering lighting and the Coruscant fiberweave carpet in Tarkin’s quarters. He cared about his appearance and hated how bad the stormtrooper helmet was for his skin. He had a habit of ignoring things he didn’t want to hear, was cleverer than he let on, and was the only one who could make Tarkin laugh. One of the best things about 421 though, in my opinion, is how he cared for his little mouse droid. He had dreams to take G7 to Coruscant and enter it into the droid racing circuit.

After that post about TK-421 and Tarkin I had to go and read the story myself, obviously, and I'm only a page in but I love MSE-6-G735Y a lot y'all

I... just realized how perfect my headphones are for me(Which for real. I would absolutely buy these again. 10/10 recommend). But today I had to manually connect them cause I was switching devices. And I actually processed what they were called.

TK-421's mouse droid's issue number is my headphones. The headphones I wear everyday is my favorite mouse droid. I'm so sad it took me so long to realize.

I finally unlocked all of the Of MSE-6 and Men family in Skywalker Saga! I never have to do the troublesome Let's Bounce in Mos Eisley ever that the stormtrooper is locked behind ever again!!!! I for sure thought that run was a botched run but I got it under the time limit by 1.7 seconds!

But yeah! It's the family! I can never get the duplication glitch to work so if I wanted groups of three screenshots, I had to take them to the freeplay of this level because freeplay lets you have two characters that you can choose/switch around but then you meet up with R2 so you get three characters to switch around so family portraits on Tatooine!

(I say as if I didn't first discover this 11 hours ago(When typing, apparently this got saved to drafts vs posting lol), but I need to remember it as a good work around to get trio pics vs duo pics. I come from Sims 4 so I want to screenshot everything but it's so hard to, lol.)

It's funny that I only discovered this little trio because of how often mouse droids roll around in the game and so I went to their Wook page out of curiosity and saw a reference to G7 taking messages between Tarkin and 421(Who I call Sev) and now I have them-well, a mouse droid and a stormtrooper and Tarkin in it.
