i think svetlana managed to convince the old guy to write her into his will. i don’t like to think about HOW she convinced him, but she did. the old guy died a few months after, leaving her his estate and lots of money. she had the life she wanted, with all the expensive fur stuff she wants. she gets to raise her son in peace and money, far away from everything that hurt her.

she enjoys working - maybe - or she enjoys doing nothing. if she works, she’ll work as an accountant or own her own restaurant or just something to do with managing and numbers because she’s good with that. maybe she’ll buy a bar like the alibi.

she’ll meet a group of friends who she can go shopping with on the weekends. she’ll get in contact with some people she knows from when she was a prostitute and help them out - they go get coffee and drink hard liquor together.

she sends Yevgeny to a fancy school where he meets fancy friends. or she’ll disagree with the concepts of private school and send him to a decent state school in a good neighbourhood where he’ll meet friends.

she’ll meet one of his teachers, and they’ll hit it off quickly. svet will tell her all about her past, and the teacher will just love her. they’ll sit by the pool together and drink vodka, and svet will try and teach her russian.

this is what i think.

somewhere out there svetlana is rich, happy, safe and loved and so is yevgeny, because she DESERVES IT!!!!

a note from 2023

this has honestly been one of my very worst years. ive had so so much struggle with my mental health. i surrounded myself with all the wrong people and found myself truly alone.

but- this has also been one of my very best years. i went on tour with my violin group, reconnected with two of my childhood friends, and joined theatre. my life has improved so much and i havent smiled so much in a long time.

i am happy.

the world did not end and it did get better. i doubted it for a while but it. got. better.

i’m really hoping that in 2024 i can continue feeling this happy and that i can improve my self esteem. i still have some work to do there.
