Year 1687
TW/CW: Child Death
Tumblr media
In Tartosa, Giuliano celebrated his 35th birthday though his age showed more from years in the sun and the losses he faced.
Tumblr media
As the year began, Giovanni Cesare and his daughters were given a plot of land. The land used to belong to a local family but after a storm came by and flooded some of the buildings and the previous owner passed, it was put for auction and now for Giovanni Cesare's service it was his land.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The girls adjusted quickly while Giovanni Cesare set about planting though he was never all that invested in crops like his family back in Tartosa were, he figured he could do the work for a few years until his girls were big enough that he could work back on the docks that he adored so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orelia's daughter, Orsetta became a teenager and during Giovanni Cesare's frequent meetings with his sister learned that his niece was spending time with a local boy on the islands which made Orelia have mixed feelings about her daughter growing up and Juliette was annoyed having to play chaperone more often.
Tumblr media
In Tartosa, Katherine's son Luca celebrated his sixth birthday looking more like his mother each day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite the loss of her older son the previous summer, on March 18th, Luisa delivered her second son who was very clearly a lot stronger and named the boy Victor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the Carlisle home, Francis grew into a delightful young boy who took after his mother in that he was going to grow into his merfolk features in time much to his mother's pleasure.
Tumblr media
Between the farming and his illicit visits to the Carlisle home, Giovanni Cesare enjoyed spending some of his time fishing when he could.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But unfortunately the joy wasn't to last as Nesta arrived in early June in tears as her young daughter Susana had passed away on the the 30th of May.
Tumblr media
Orelia's younger daughter celebrated her sixth birthday a few short months after her older sister's thirteenth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the Carlisle home reeled from their loss the Dupont family was happy to see their daughter Marie grow into a sweet little girl while their son Victor grew into a stronger child.
Tumblr media
The year came to a close as back in Tartosa, Giovanni Cesare's namesake grew out of his infancy as his parent's sighed in relief watching their son grow stronger.

Parigi '24: Malagò, Tamberi portabandiera? C'è bella concorrenza
“Tamberi portabandiera dell’Italia a Parigi 2024? TW/CW: Infant Death
Tumblr media
Nesta began feeling off in a familiar way as spring came into bloom and she was excited for another child that she hoped would be a son after two daughters though she had a problem... she had no clue who the father was.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even so, she told her husband about the new arrival though she simply omitted any mention of her paternity doubts and he was excited for a third child as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nesta also told Giovanni Cesare about the pregnancy and while he was happy for her the moment it sunk in that it might be his, he panicked as he didn't want drama to start but since Jaxsen was unaware of their dalliances, well, no need to make a fuss when it was just as likely to be Jaxsen's anyways.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Newcrest, Luisa delivered twins on March 2nd. The older one, the girl, was named Marie and her twin brother was named Jacques.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On April 25th, Marcello and Chanel welcomed their son who they named Giovanni after Marcello's dear friend and uncle Giovanni Cesare.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of Luisa's twins grew up well as it appeared that Marie favored her father and Jacques favored his mother but it wasn't to last as on July 13th, Jacques burned up with fever and slipped away in the night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elisabetta grew up into a rambunctious child with plenty of energy to her father's great relief. Though sometimes she had too much energy and her father would have to talk to her about getting in the way of his work and send her to spend time with her aunt when Orelia was in port.
Tumblr media
Baby Giovanni grew up into a darling boy though his parents fussed over him excessively especially after the news of Luisa's son's passing and the memory of the loss of their firstborn, they were determined to lavish their son the best they could.
Tumblr media
Young Kathy quickly joined the ranks of bigger children behind Elisabetta and while the girls became more distinct in the personalities they remained close.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what the girls loved the most was when Orelia could visit and tell her stories of life on the ocean. The way Orelia spoke made life on the water seem magical though growing up on the islands they couldn't quite understand how it could be so interesting to the aunt when they were surrounded by water and boats all the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On December 27th, Nesta got her wish as she delivered her son Francis in good health. It was too soon to tell who the boy took after but she hoped that he would look like her and her fears simply wouldn't matter.

Year 1688
TW/CW: Child Death
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Tartosa, the year the Morosini family had lived in their new home had made them finally feel established in the islands as permanent residents though the thought of finding a proper wife so that his girls could have a mother was starting to cross Giovanni Cesare's mind though he was content with his relationship with Nesta so the thought was just that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Tartosa, Benetta was coming to terms with the fact that she was likely expecting again which scared her as she couldn't help but remember that she had lost her first pregnancy. So while she hoped for good news the worry clawed at her stomach which did not help the sickness that came from carrying a child.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But as the year continued on, Benetta was not the only one with child as Nesta learned that she was as well but while she still had no clue of Francis's paternity this one she knew was Giovanni Cesare's child though when she informed her husband of the new addition she didn't let him know that he was not the child's father and simply let him continue to assume that he was.
Tumblr media
Young Francis grew into a boy with a rather rambunctious streak as he followed after his mother and sister eagerly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On September 3rd, despite her fears of another loss, Benetta delivered her son Angelo safely and the boy was healthy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Young Victor Dupont also grew into a happy boy with his aunt and sister lavishing their attentions on the youngest member of their home.
Tumblr media
In October on the 13th, Chanel delivered a newborn daughter they called Vendramina.
Tumblr media
November came and Nesta was once again faced with labor pains as she anticipated the arrival of her fourth child.
Tumblr media
By midday on the 23rd of November, Nesta had delivered a second son she named Cesare after his father which her husband didn't think much of since Giovanni Cesare had been going by Giovanni for the past few years since he had arrived on the islands so it was more of an inside secret that the boy was named after his true father.
Tumblr media
In Tartosa, the young Angelo grew into his features more and at least in his infancy to his mother's secret delight, took more after her.
Tumblr media
Though tragedy was around the corner as Francis's adventurous nature led to the boy falling down a ledge near the cliffs the Carlisle home was nestled in and on December 15, the announcement came into town of the child's passing. With that news, the Morosini family returned from the funeral deciding to try and give the grieving family time to themselves since they decided not to take visitors for at least the rest of the year. Elisabetta kind of understood, at least enough to not push it, but Paola needed more answers as to why she wasn't going to be playing with her friend Kathy for a while.

Year 1681
TW/CW: Death, Stillbirth
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the new year, Giovanni Cesare and Vivienne's marriage remained turbulent as the pair would alternate between hushed arguing and passionate apologies when they weren't caring for their daughter.
Tumblr media
Between his work and family, Giovanni Cesare was happy for the respite swimming brought him.
Tumblr media
Back in Tartosa, Iseppo grew into a darling little boy who was more than happy to follow his siblings around.
Tumblr media
But sadly, in late February, Leonardo Ludovici drifted in from a swim leaving his expectant wife a widow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Katharine was distraught after losing her son and now her husband but with her unborn child to think of she did her best to push through and on March 5th, she delivered her second son, Luca.
Tumblr media
At the Collari household, Salvador became a toddler to the delight of the household especially his mother who had already lost two young children recently.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luca grew into a sweet baby and Benetta was happy to dote on her little nephew especially since after her wedding in February, she suspected that she too was with child as the months passed.
Tumblr media
Camilla became a little toddler as well and while her parent's were no longer around to see her grow up, her extended family was overjoyed to see her growth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly back at the Bailey home, while Vivienne bonded with Elisabetta, her mother was devastated when July brought with it labor pains and a stillborn son.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the Bailey household reeled from their loss, Orelia in her crew's encampment, went into labor in early September. On the ninth of the month she delivered a healthy daughter she named Rosa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though it didn't take long until Orelia was spending more time with her ship's captain both in and out of his quarters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the year drew to a close, Mr.Bailey discussed with Giovanni Cesare that once the original end of Giovanni Cesare's now extended contract was up, his remaining time would be spent at with a different employer so as to add some more separation between the households. Giovanni Cesare was shocked and worried about how Vivienne would react to the news since even 'disowned' she was living a life of relative luxury at her family home but when the contract was up her lifestyle would reflect his and not hers anymore but that was still a ways off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Little Rosa grew into herself as news of Marcello and his wife welcoming their own daughter spread and young Juliette received the belated news that her brother had also had a daughter that May. Orsetta was happy to close out the year with her cousin being happy at the safe delivery of both of her nieces and her little sister growing up even if she was too young to play with properly.

Year 1680 - Part 1
TW/CW: Death, Child Death, Stillbirth
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The year in Tartosa began with the family mourning the losses of the previous year and the young Collari twins growing into bigger infants with Sabina having ruby eyes and her brother having pale yellow. Though despite that, the famine and the lack of clean water had not been resolved yet and on January 16th, Alessandro collapsed and quickly passed in the early hours of the morning. He was buried near his late wives and passed surrounded by his family.
Tumblr media
Just a few days later, Clement celebrated his sixth birthday with his family as Orelia and the girls had returned to celebrate with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly the birthday of his much younger cousin was of little joy to Giuliano as he mourned his beloved wife but more pressing was that young Rustico was constantly crying from pains in his gut and the lack of comfort from his mother that he missed.
Tumblr media
Sadly on January 24, Rustico finally slipped away after a fitful sleep that he never awoke from.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Borthola did her best as a big sister to cheer up Ricciardi as his closest playmate had just passed but the adults were devastated and even more so as Bastiano started showing signs of extreme lethargy not long after Rustico's funeral but they did their best to carry on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By the time Orsetta's sixth birthday came around they were back in the islands once more which was fine with her as the waters were nice to swim in and the paths were much prettier than in Newcrest.
Tumblr media
On the ever less common good days Bastiano had with energy, he, Borthola and their cousins would spend the day swimming and despite Giulia wanting the children to study after the past few months she was willing to be more lenient with them. Especially after the loss of Alessandro's mother on February 13th.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But a bad day came for Bastiano on March 6th and he took a nap that he couldn't wake from after being gripped with intense headaches and cramps. Sadly it was Ricciardi who found him and whose cries alerted the family. But the losses didn't stop there as just a few days later came news that Antea had also passed from similar causes.
Tumblr media
While recently orphaned, Camilla grew up into her infancy in the care of Gabriella. But sadly her cousin, Sabina from the main branch of the Collari family passed away that April and on July 4th, the family Matriarch Bianca passed away as well leaving the family in the hands of Marcello at least until Salvador came of age.
Tumblr media
As the birth of their child approached, Giovanni Cesare and Vivienne decided that it was time to put aside their unfulfilled wishes and make the best of things especially after Vivienne's eighteenth birthday that March. The young couple decided to genuinely attempt a real relationship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While other adults of the house were out in town, Vivienne and her brother were happy to get along in secret.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In late July on the 24th, Vivienne went into labor and when the midwife told her there was a second baby on the way it made sense on how quickly her pregnancy had shown but sadly the joy of her daughter, Elisabetta's birth was quickly dashed as the second girl was stillborn. The young couple called their late daughter, Elena, and while she couldn't be buried in the churchyard, she was buried not far from the home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Following the birth Vivienne had difficulties bonding with her daughter as the conflicting feelings of loss for her secondborn and the lingering thoughts of how if she hadn't gotten pregnant in the first place, she'd be free to marry into a similar life of luxury that she had grown up in reared their ugly heads. Giovanni Cesare though, was taken with his daughter. The loss of Elena hurt him dearly but after losing so many family members in his life, he was used to grief and dealing with it so he chose to refocus and give his daughter the love he had for both children especially as Vivienne only seemed to interact with her to feed her or change the occasional diaper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately for the family the losses did not stop as Giuliano and Ashley's only daughter slipped away on August 29th. Giulia couldn't believe just how quickly their household full of noise and children and young love had changed in less than a year.

Year 1679 - Part 1
TW/CW: Child Death, Death Mention, Teen Pregnancy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The year began with the Collari family officially confirming a new future addition to the family. While at the Ludovici home, Katharine was starting to worry about not having conceived since the birth of her son, when he was younger it was a relief to only have one young child to care for but as she and Leonardo tried, no luck was had. Though as days turned to weeks of little rain, maybe it was for the best...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a way of distracting herself, Katharine was happy to treat her cousin and cousin's mother-in-law to new outfits though nothing too fancy since they didn't wish to impose too much.
Tumblr media
February brought with it news that the young Collari boy had passed from unclean water. Ashley felt for the loss the family was feeling having lost her eldest but it just made her more grateful for her healthy children.
Tumblr media
After weeks drawn into months by storms and poor weather, Giovanni Cesare finally reached the shores of the islands he had been dreaming of. It was a new start for him enough so that the moment he arrived he decided to simply go by Giovanni. He never vocalized the feelings but he always knew that his name was only his because his late older brother died before he grew up and on the islands at least, Giovanni Cesare had no legacy to continue or live up to. It was just him in a new part of the world his family could hardly dream of. He was quickly sent off to work for a wealthy family, the Bailey's to serve them which was a surprise to Giovanni Cesare as he had expected more physically demanding work but he was not going to complain about having easy work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was April when Cristofolo went to visit his love and when he saw her she was deep in thought looking troubled. He worried for her and questioned her only to find that their youthful passions had let to Antea being with child. With the words spoken aloud neither really knew what to do as neither had expected a child.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Antea, telling her aunt about her child with Cristofolo was difficult as she knew her reaction would be poor but after the initial anger and shock, Gabriella told her that the young couple should at the very least wed before the birth of child to preserve what little was left of her niece's reputation for both her and her unborn child's sake.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Given the illegitimate status of Cristofolo regardless of his adoption and the fact that he had an older brother and Jolene's pregnancy, Bianca had little argument over the young couple marrying and like Gabriella, pushed for it to happen sooner than later so as to not have a bastard for a great-grandchild. While it wasn't the romantic circumstances the young pair would have liked for the promise of spending their lives together, they were excited to marry and so before April came to an end they were wed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The good feelings following the wedding of Cristofolo and Antea came to an end in May when Alessandro's father died from the lack of water brought on by the famine and the loss of one of the Laurent boys didn't make Alessandra's fears for her own child ease in the slightest when June came and labor struck her. Despite that on June 18th, the Rossi family welcomed a son they named Iseppo. Though July brought with it news that the late Osana's husband passed in some sort of accident and his widow was more than happy to leave young Juliette in the care of her aunt, Orelia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The work Giovanni Cesare had wasn't difficult like he had first assumed though his employers were often rude to him and treated him with little respect. Most of his work consisted of fixing things the lady of the house or her eldest broke in one of their constant fights or cooking meals. He tried to keep his head down as best he could but the fights were hard to ignore when they got loud.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He did feel for the younger lady of the house Vivienne as some of what they argued about seemed to be her future since her step-father was eager to have the child of his wife's first marriage out of the home and sadly the girl's mother was also of the same mind. It wasn't his place to interject but he'd watch to make sure that the young lady was safe when she'd walk down to the beach late at night after fighting with her mother.
Tumblr media
As the summer progressed, Landon and Jolene repaired their relationship especially in the wake of the loss of their young son and the anticipation of their newborn.
Tumblr media
Sadly it wasn't meant to be as August took Landon into the Watcher's embrace following a bout of sudden but severe illness and sadly the famine showed no signs of stopping.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One night after a particularly nasty fight between the lady of the house and her daughter, while Giovanni Cesare was following her down to the water he was joined by her younger brother who also felt the same and the pair were caught by Vivienne. At first Vivienne was shocked to learn that she had been followed by them both yet she was flattered that her young brother was checking in on her and while she didn't say it aloud near her brother, the fact the handsome young servant cared for her safety made her heart flutter.
Tumblr media
And so even after the young boy left, having been caught Giovanni Cesare realized that there was no more point hiding that he wanted to make sure she was okay. The pair spent a good portion of the night chatting and making sculptures on the beach to cheer up Vivienne. Giovanni was glad to see the young woman perk up though Vivienne was seeing the young man in a new light not as a mere servant but as a young man who while still beneath her was now worth her attentions.

Year 1677
TW/CW: Death
Tumblr media
Giuliano adored his young children but being as Bastiano would likely inherit their family home and farm he made certain to teach him in the garden just like his father did though they did frequently get distracted.
Tumblr media
In February, there was thankfully little bad news to share in fact Giulia was delighted to receive a letter from Orelia saying that Antonio's wife had delivered a little girl though at the time of the letter Sarah and Orion were still bickering over what to name her. Still the news was welcome.
Tumblr media
Marcello made more frequent visits to the Morosini home especially as his young cousin was growing up well since it made him all the more certain that there would be no issue with him leaving once he was an adult and married.
Tumblr media
Antonio's youngest grew into an admittedly intense little one as the seasons prepared to change from Spring to Summer.
Tumblr media
Tala enjoyed the house being so full of children after so long alone. She only hoped that in the future it would always remain like that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whenever Ashley needed a break from her family she'd come to the Rossi Carlisle home to spend time with her little cousin. She loved the excitement the Morosini always bustled with but after growing up in a relatively small household, it was frequently too much now that there were four small children. Thankfully the older two wouldn't be that little for much longer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly it was getting late into the night during one of Ashley's visits that on her way back home she noticed Tala collapsed in the garden and her shocked yell alerted Marina. Age had finally come for Tala as on July 1st she was confirmed to have passed away.
Tumblr media
The burial and subsequent mourning put a damper on the fact that young Nicola had grown out of his infancy and into a little boy. The changes in the household didn't end there as now that there was no woman in the household, Gabriella insisted that it was improper to have her niece be in the home when she was getting close to marrying age so Alessandro made arrangements that she would move out by the end of the year and into her aunt's home.
Tumblr media
The year progressed as the family grieved the loss of the matriarch that had supported them through the years but in October, Orelia was happy to share that Antonio's youngest son had grown into a young boy big enough to play with her daughter and his brother.
Tumblr media
As the year came to a close though, the newness of Newcrest had officially faded and she thought once more about traveling but she also thought about how close together the losses of the recent years had been and decided not to take action in fear of acting from grief but also because her daughter was so young and her niece had little support without her.

Year 1664
Tumblr media
Still reeling from the loss of their father the older of the Morosini girls tried to do their best to maintain normalcy for their little siblings especially Olivia and Giovanni Cesare that was easier said than done though.
Tumblr media
With Giuliano celebrating his twelfth birthday, he decided to pick up on some of his sister's hobbies though he would never admit to it to the other boys in town, he actually quite enjoyed it.
Tumblr media
As much as Giulia hated that her daughters had picked up cards like their father had loved so very much, she couldn't help but feel relieved as they played with how happy the game made them after their losses.
Tumblr media
The Morosini boys got along well though with their considerable age gap that was more or less of a given since it was rather difficult to find much fault in a toddler as an almost teenager. They didn't share much in common but Giuliano didn't mind indulging his little brother's babble at times.
Tumblr media
As the crops grew more stable, Orelia suggested that she go help her grandmother Tala since she was getting on in age to deal with her own supply of crops. Giulia felt a pang of loss that despite her daughter wanting to do something so kind, she didn't want to lose another member of the household so soon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of the siblings Olivia and Giovanni Cesare were the ones who got along the best though it was hard to say if the reason for that was due to their ages but it warmed the hearts of the entire household to see the littlest ones getting along so well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Felicita's children soon grew up and it remained abundantly clear that her younger two took strongly after her though perhaps time would tell if that would change.
Tumblr media
Of course having young children in the home meant that there was still fussing to be had and the older children were sure to make themselves scarce when the littles were inconsolable not that Giulia minded especially as she was happy to know that when her last little one came it would truly be the last so even the unpleasant moments of dealing with small children were cherished.
Tumblr media
Olivia grew up into a delightful young lady with a passion for reading.
Tumblr media
Maybe it was because she was big enough to start lessons with her siblings but after her lessons began Olivia and Giuliano grew even closer than they had been before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life was peaceful for the near fortnight after Olivia's birthday as Felicita's children were often around the Morosini home.
Tumblr media
Then Giulia's true final labor began and fear struck through her heart as she worried about leaving her children alone if anything happened to her especially as she was an older mother this time around as well.
Tumblr media
Thankfully Giulia's fears of being taken by the hands of fate with this birth were unfounded and late in the afternoon on September 13th she delivered a daughter, Olimpia Morosini.
Tumblr media
With the birth of Olimpia, Giulia was more willing to entertain her daughter's idea of helping out with her grandmother and decided that she would approve of her spending a few nights a week helping out Tala.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orelia was proud to show off her first steps into independence away from the main family whenever she returned from Tala's place. Orsa was a little jealous of her sister but she also wasn't quite sure spending a few nights at the house they took their lessons counted as independence. Giuliano felt a sense of responsibility with another one of his older sisters out of the house, he was getting older and sooner rather than later he would actually be the man of the house rather than feeling like his sisters kid brother but the part of him that wasn't ready for the responsibility he had was glad that his sisters were still home and unwed.
Tumblr media
Most days with the children in the house all with her, Giulia could hardly believe just how quickly they were all growing up.
Tumblr media
Little Olimpia grew into a lovely little baby though it was hard to say which of her parents she took after yet being how little she still was.
Tumblr media
Thinking on her children growing up, Giulia caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror with lines on her face she swore weren't there before. She was getting older and given how many people she knew would never grow old enough for signs of age to appear she decided to wear them with pride.

Giulia was delighted to spend autumn and winter just cooing over her last baby. The finality of it all brought with it a sense of peace amidst the chaos of the house full of children.
Tumblr media
Orsolina's son, Marcello grew from an infant to a little boy with a charming demeanor. His parents were delighted to see their son grow up and while they shared little love for each other, they found they did delight in watching their son grow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But while Giulia's childbearing years had come to an end, Osana was happy to end the year with the discovery that her little daughter would be an older sister in the coming year.

Year 1659
TW/CW: Death Mention, Child Marriage
Tumblr media
As the year began, Giulia decided to focus on the future instead of what she wished should have happened especially as news of her sister's Mother-in-law's death spread throughout the town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Giovanni was thrilled when Giuliano began to be able to actually help out around the gardens and the pair would talk about the plants eagerly. Giovanni was a stern man but the few times he seemed approachable was when they spoke about the plants.
Tumblr media
Giulia had feared that with all the talks about their eldest marrying into nobility away from their simple farming life her son would resent that he was likely to just stay home and tend the fields but as it was, he was excited to learn more about the crops.
Tumblr media
Orelia was the first one of Orsolina's siblings that she saw coming back from her lessons in early summer. Orsolina was proud to say that she had been a natural study and had gotten the approval of the Collari family to marry officially. Orelia was happy for her sister since she seemed happy but she wondered if this was a good thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orelia wasted no time in sharing her sister's news with Osana who was happy for her sister before Orelia reminded her that Orsolina would be leaving when she married and who knew if she'd have much of a chance to visit since she would be nobility and they were mere farmers and nobility had so many rules to abide by. Osana thought it was absolutely ridiculous that her younger sister seemed to be put off at the concept of being noble but she couldn't deny that it hurt to think of her sister leaving their home, they were best friends and if Osana had anything to say, that wouldn't change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things moved quickly as summer progressed and the adults of both families planned out the specifics for the wedding hoping to have it later in the year. Orsa and Osana gushed over the romantic side of wedding planning though Orsolina was rather uninspired because she was well aware of her own and her betrothed's feelings on the matter of their arrangement being purely a result of their fathers' relationship and social arranging.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Osana turned thirteen and after spending time with her sister during wedding planning became enamored with the way the foods were prepared so much so that she was willing to ignore her own revulsion at the dirt to gather quality ingredients for meals. Her skills in the kitchen were rather clumsy and in need of practice though her sisters were glad when they knew their mother was doing the cooking as they didn't want to tell their sister that her cooking was... terrible. Luckily Giulia used that as an opportunity to make sure all her children knew how to cook at least something basic.
Tumblr media
Like her sister, she was interested in working on her stitching and hoped that taking up a more refined hobby would do her well when it came time to find a partner for herself. She daydreamed of a romance where she would be swept off her feet by a handsome young man rather than be arranged to a man she hardly knew. So despite knowing her sister wasn't having the blissful romance she wanted with her wedding, she was glad that the extra time to come up with money for her own dowry would allow her to maybe find love for herself.
Tumblr media
The night before Orsolina's wedding both sisters spent the night together in the spare room knowing that their lives would change the very next day but at least it would be together. Osana had done her own scheming and since the nobility always wanted new servants she decided to work in the Collari home to make money for the family but mostly to be nearer to her sister and though it took some convincing the Widow Collari agreed to let Osana serve as her sister's personal attendant after spending the months leading up to the wedding in training.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The wedding went forward as planned and on August 29th, Orsolina and Octavio Collari were wed. On the first of September, Osana left the Morosini home to care for her sister.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The house felt empty without the older girls. Giulia tried to keep busy when little Olivia didn't require her attention. While the other kids tried to ignore it by keeping busy with lessons but the feeling still persisted.
Tumblr media
Orsa and Giuliano bonded by their mutual love of plants and the outdoors now that their older sisters were gone and Orsa wasn't busy with them as much it was easier to ignore the desire to be more mature like their sisters when she was around just her twin and little siblings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Perhaps it was the newfound security that he had at least made sure one of his children had a decent future but Giovanni seemed to soften more after Orsolina's wedding.
Tumblr media
It really was no shock that Giulia began to feel the telltale signs of expecting once more as her birthday passed by again. Still, Giulia wondered if this was to be her last child or if there were more to come especially as she thought as to how difficult her previous pregnancies were and her and her husband's increasing age. As much as she loved her children and motherhood, she had grown weary of infants of her own and was eagerly anticipating being done with them. But if her hunch about expecting was correct, she decided that, at least to herself, she would pray that this would truly be the final one.

Year 1689
Tumblr media
In Tartosa, young Vendramina grew into a little girl who definitely appeared to take more after her mother than her brother did.
Tumblr media
While Cesare was also looking quite a bit like his mother though it was a bit too soon to tell who he truly favored but he had his mother's hair color at least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Nesta worried about her son's paternity coming to light her biggest concern for the time being was making sure he was healthy and growing up properly especially after the family's recent losses of two of their young children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But by the time the Carlisle family was ready for visitors again and Giovanni Cesare could finally meet his son, Nesta was feeling ill again and she worried about having another child since it almost felt like each time she had one, another one of her children were lost not long after. But Giovanni Cesare was more concerned with the newest Carlisle member to pay too much mind to the potential pregnancy Nesta was trying to deny to herself.
Tumblr media
From Tartosa, Giovanni Cesare and Orelia got news that their niece Leandra celebrated her sixth birthday with all the fanfare their family could afford.
Tumblr media
But the joy of Leandra's birthday kept going as Paola also had her sixth birthday not long after her cousin.
Tumblr media
With Paola's birthday, both of Giovanni Cesare's children were big enough to really take lessons from Talia's tome and while Paola was enjoying them, Elisabetta just liked knowing how to read and write like her friend Kathy was learning.
Tumblr media
But despite the girls having perhaps inherited a love of the finer things in life, they both loved that their father had gifted the pair fishing lines so they could spend their days together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course the gift had an ulterior motive of keeping the girls out of trouble as Giovanni Cesare spent more of his time in the company of the Carlisles but not just Nesta as time had brought him close to the head of the household as well and though he felt conflicted, Giovanni Cesare, was the partner in both of the Carlisle couple's affairs with neither knowing about his time with the other.
Tumblr media
After his sister's sixth birthday that spring, Ricciardi grew into a young man who greatly favored his father in looks as summer came to a close.
Tumblr media
The Morosini girls noticed their father's patterns as the year drew to a close that he would clean himself up after they were supposed to sleep or were busy and he'd leave returning hours later smelling sometimes of perfumes. After talking to themselves the girls came to the conclusion that he was courting someone in secret but while they were somewhat correct in that assessment they decided that their father was nervous about their approval since the passing of their mother years ago but seeing how he was happy about his secret love, the girls decided to confront him especially after talking with Kathy who was eager for gossip after December brought with it her mother having giving her a baby sister.
Tumblr media
Elisabetta ended up being the one to speak with Giovanni Cesare and after telling him what she and the other girls had been talking about he seemed to relax. He was deeply grateful that his daughter didn't know about the affairs even if she knew he was seeing someone but hearing that his girls were okay with him finding someone else was a relief for a fear he hadn't even realized he had and that relief was visible to his young daughter who was content that her father no longer had to hide that he wanted a partner. Giovanni Cesare decided that now that his children were okay with a mother in their life maybe it was time to break away from his affairs and settle down properly.

TW/CW: Child Death
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The remaining ward of the Carlisle home, Milo, celebrated becoming a teenager that January and the joy that came with a milestone birthday continued for Giovanni Cesare as he learned that to Torricelli couple welcomed a daughter in Tartosa and his cousin Luisa was seriously courting in Newcrest.
Tumblr media
Vivienne's younger half-sister celebrated her sixth birthday as well and it seemed like a good time for Milo to move in with his sister leaving his former step-father's home.
Tumblr media
In Newcrest, the Carlisle family was recovering from the loss of their brother as the younger children grew closer and Luisa tried to distract herself from being too occupied by thoughts of her love.
Tumblr media
But it didn't matter too much because her love, Pierre Dupont, quickly proposed and the pair was wed by May.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly, just as his sister began to show with her pregnancy, the overbearing heat from the summer claimed young Clement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Tartosa, Salvador celebrated his sixth birthday and not too far behind Camilla also celebrated her sixth birthday.
Tumblr media
The came to a close as back in the Carlisle home, little Susana was finally able to toddle around after her older sister and Giovanni Cesare's daughters.

Year 1682
TW/CW: Miscarriage, Infant Death
Tumblr media
As the year started, Marina's brother Nicola celebrated his sixth birthday with his siblings and step-mother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the same time, young Elisabetta grew into a delightful little lady and while Vivienne had conflicting feelings about being a mother to her daughter before, now that they were both older they were incredibly close.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ever since the loss of their respective spouses, Giuliano and Katharine began to grow close again as friends. It was a nice change of pace from their losses and when the sad news of Benetta's miscarriage came, Katharine did her best to keep clear of her sister-in-law by having her son over to play with Ricciardi while the adults enjoyed their time together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But life went on as Marcello and Chanel's daughter grew into herself taking quite a bit after her mother though it was still early to tell if that would always be the case.
Tumblr media
April brought with it news from Newcrest that Antonio and Sarah's youngest son celebrated his sixth birthday with Orelia and her girls making it just in time to spend a few weeks with them even in the midst of the drama following the passing of Orelia's captain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the days turned to weeks of the pair growing closer from their mutual losses, it was little surprise when it turned to romance. Katharine couldn't help but be reminded of her teenage crush on Giuliano back when he only had eyes for her cousin and yet fate brought them together though in the worst of ways but it was nice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things moved quickly for the pair after that as neither saw any point in waiting and putting off something that would be good for them for very long. They were also grateful that their sons got along well enough as well and so as June came around they made their engagement official though they did plan to wait for the wedding until after Ricciardi's birthday.
Tumblr media
With her sister engaged to Giuliano, Chiara spent quite a bit of time at the Morosini household since she'd be moving with her sister after the wedding but late June brought sad news as Marcello and Chanel buried their young daughter.
Tumblr media
Ricciardi grew into a good child to the great joy of his entire family. Seeing him grow older made Giuliano release a breath he hadn't quite known he had been holding on to ever since the loss of the rest of his children.
Tumblr media
Not far behind him, Katharine's son Luca also grew into a little boy who was more than happy to trail behind Ricciardi and keep him company.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seeing that time was simply bringing their boys closer, Giuliano and Katharine married on September 12th though the wedding was a bit more rushed than intended since their frequent meetings made them suspect that their family might start to grow soon.
Tumblr media
While Vivienne's relationship with her mother had cooled all things considered being that they weren't speaking, Vivienne was still close with her brother though they were less secretive about it since their mother's husband began showing disapproval towards the young man since he started to grow up and thus their mother shut him out too though they were less combative. Family was tricky for Vivienne but she was also excited for the upcoming year as she was certain that she was with child once more and this time she was a lot happier about it than before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With news that they were expecting once again, much like his wife Giovanni Cesare was much more receptive to the news though he would have liked to have waited until after his contract officially ended before growing their family, he couldn't help but think that perhaps it was a good thing to have their family grow while his wife was still happy in her childhood home before things got upended for them. More importantly though, Giovanni Cesare made sure to spend extra time with his daughter before the baby, she was definitely more attached to her mother but that didn't make her relationship with her father any less special to the little girl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orelia made it back to the islands just in time to deliver her daughter Livia on December 27th. Knowing that the child was her late Captain's she decided to give her his name which thankfully didn't upset the captain's widow too much. While her girls were still young, Orelia was deeply grateful for the fact that she had three healthy children.

Year 1679 - Part 3
TW/CW: Death, Death Mention, Teen Pregnancy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After being Vivienne was given her options by her mother, Giovanni Cesare returned upstairs briefly to speak with her and was informed of the pregnancy. They had no plans and very little money. This was not the life Giovanni Cesare had dreamed of when he first set sail a year ago.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pair spoke to each other very little for the next few days leading up to when a decision had to be made. Despite it being something neither of them wanted, Giovanni Cesare decided that it was for the best of his child to marry Vivienne so he convinced her that they would make it work and with permission to marry from her mother, arrangements were made. On December 13th the pair were wed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in Tartosa, three days after Giovanni Cesare and Vivienne married, Antea delivered her and Cristofolo's child, a daughter they named Camilla.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ashley had been feeling off for a while leading up to the holidays but had been keeping it to herself to not worry her family. But on December 23, she collapsed to the ground and by the time the physician was brought from town she had already passed.
Tumblr media
The family rushed to have her buried before the holiday and she was buried by her eldest son's side the very next day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back at the Bailey household, Giovanni Cesare celebrated his eighteenth birthday in muted silence amidst the news of his dear sister-in-law's passing and his much unwanted marriage.
Tumblr media
Giulia worried for the future of her family in the coming year as on December 30th, Cristofolo died from sudden illness from the water and the famine showed no signs of stopping anytime soon.
Tumblr media
Given the tragedies throughout the year, Marcello and his betrothed decided that once the mourning period was over they would marry at least to bring some more joy back to the family even though both of them had lost through out the year.
Tumblr media
Vivienne had been restricted in the home so as to not shame her mother's family but aside from that her disownment hadn't shown much difference in her life other than the sudden loss of her social life as she still lived in the home just the other members would scorn her except for her brother when they were in private. Giovanni Cesare didn't seem to care for her as he did before and ultimately regret she felt made her heart feel heavy. She wondered if there was anyway to fix the mess she had made.

Year 1679 - Part 2
TW/CW: Teen Pregnancy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Literally the next day after getting caught by Vivienne, the young lady and her mother fought and Giovanni Cesare decided to try to cheer her up though at first she wasn't too interested she couldn't help but laugh at his attempts to dance which ended up being over dramatic leaps and as she vented about her mother wanting to marry her off to some stuffy gentleman he joked about how courting seemed all big and dramatic as well as ridiculous.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taking advantage of how ridiculous the courting expectations were and the blossoming feelings in her heart, Vivienne decided to just go for it and kissed the young man. Giovanni Cesare could hardly process what had just happened as her lips met his.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when the shock wore off much to Vivienne's dismay the young man was mad. Giovanni Cesare felt flutters at being the object of affection of a lovely young lady as a young person tends to with their first experience being seen romantically but logic won over in his head as she pulled away from the kiss, she was the daughter of his employer. Their chatting was already toeing the line and now a kiss, he could be whipped for the mere thought of that happening between them crossing her parents minds and now that she had done it... it was stupid and it scared him since he had finally gotten to the land he wanted he didn't want to make a poor name for himself right away and said as much to her as he yelled.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, Vivienne wasn't one to simply leave it at that and was quick to remind him that he had been following her for months now and hadn't gotten caught until he went with her brother and he wasn't the only one risking their future. Which made him say that made even less sense to do anything further and the pair should just ignore the events of the night but Vivienne just shouted in exasperation saying that if he cared so much about his employers it was her family and left for her room leaving him to wonder what had happened and what to do.
Tumblr media
And yet the very next night or rather the morning of the next night, Giovanni Cesare apologized to Vivienne in hopes of making her happy and she said she'd forgive him if he'd be hers. As much as he felt it was a horrid idea, the gravity of the retribution of his employers and the fact that despite being a child of the family she was still one of them, meant that he didn't see how he could say no to her advances without putting himself into jeopardy. The whipping could be dealt with but the social backlash would be crippling on such a close knit island.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But while Giovanni Cesare was facing issues inside the home, walking back one day he noticed a familiar face near the Bailey home and as he came closer it was Orelia! Apparently following Francois' death, she took that as a sign to leave and do what she wanted since her daughter was older and her niece was handed off to her and so she had joined up with a crew and recently landed on the island shores since her captain and crew mates had family be it lovers or wives and children on the islands. The pair caught up and since his sister would be around regularly though perhaps not frequently, they promised to see more of each other while she was nearby.
Tumblr media
In Tartosa, Iseppo grew into a sweet boy taking quite a bit after his mother. Alessandro wondered if Marina was going to be the only one of his children to take anything after him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the months went by, more of each night was spent with Vivienne sneaking into the servants quarters to spend quality time with her love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Early October at the Collari household brought with it the birth of twins and on the 9th of the month, Sabina and Salvator Collari were born healthy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But eventually, as Autumn turned to Winter and the year drew closer to an end, sneaking around led to the young couple in Sulani getting caught as they slipped up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Giovanni Cesare was sent immediately downstairs to the servant's quarters, Vivienne's mother laid into her about her inappropriate behavior with him especially as she noticed what her young daughter did not about her tightening dress. She told her that since she was with child she had two options, either by week's end she would be sent to the convent or she would marry the servant boy but either way she would be disowned either by the time she arrived at the convent or when she married. Vivienne was sickened as her intentions for a brief romance before being married to someone of her station had led to her predicament.
